2:03going to lead Oklahoma State into the promised land or at least get us back to where we're supposed to be winning 8, 9, 10 games on a regular basis. And Caleb Hawkins is going to help him get there. Wide young is going to help him get there. The bright, shiny, fancy toys are phenomenal. And that is what Eric Morris is known for in this high flying offense is going to be exhilarating once again, it's still water, but none of it matters if the guys up front cannot keep him upright. So let's highlight again, some of these dudes that should be able to help Drew Mestemecker get Oklahoma State back into contention for big 12 title. First and foremost, let's talk about the dude that went big 12 mode at KU. He's coming back to big 12 mode at Oklahoma State Tyler Mercer. Of course, he was a bad man. And Jamm at North Texas before transferring to KU, he only appeared in a few games, but he did a PFF grade out at 66.5 while at KU, he had a 78.0 pass blocking grade. He allowed zero pressures and 11 opportunities before KU at North Texas.

3:04He had appeared in eight game six starts as a true freshman with a PFF grade of 67.2 overall. He played in 655 snaps at center while allowing zero sacks and only one or only three pressures and almost 400 opportunities. He was a massive team impact, which is why him leaving the KU was it was a big loss for them. He was a freshman all American by on three offensive freshman of the year AAC impact freshman of the year. All of that was at North Texas goes to KU and now he's back at Oklahoma State and you got to have a guy that is not only familiar with this quarterback or familiar with the system and the coaching, how to call a shifts and the audibles, but also just somebody that's seen different iterations of offenses, including at the big 12 level to pass everything off and help all the other guys get more squared away speaking of some of the other other guys. How about Michigan State transfer, Ashton Leppo? You got to have a big body six foot seven three hundred twenty pound beast to help you.

4:08Well, this guy definitely helps. He registered this first year at Michigan State, second year he appeared in 12 games, primarily as a rotational dude. Year three, he was the full time starter at right tackle and then last year he was the starter and he had a couple of injuries to pop up pretty early on four games in, but he's got 28 career games that he's played in 14 career starts. He did in the season an impressive fashion. In his very last game, he graded out as a 67 point eight offensive rating and an 80 point four pass blocking rating. So it seems like the best version of Ashton Leppo was the version that unfortunately got injured. We seem to be the ones that probably will reap the benefits. How about another dude that unfortunately we're going to reap the benefits of a couple of injuries in his career. The big six foot six three hundred thirty pound beast, Jacob Sexton has almost a thousand career snaps. 405 left tackle, a little over 300 right tackle, he's also got almost 290 at left guard.

5:10He allowed seven sacks and 30 pressures in almost 500 career opportunities, 497. He started a multitude of games and it wasn't for multiple lower body injuries. He would be a major contributing factor to OU. So much so this previous season, he was on the EA sports called football and interestingly enough, they gave him a 95 rating when it came to strength. 84 when it came to awareness 88 toughness 89 injury, obviously the 89 injury is a little bit problematic, but that is a dude that Oklahoma State is going to lean on because we should have got him in high school, all right. It doesn't matter. We got him now. How about somebody coming over that has a different your variation like Tyler Mercer understands North Texas. He understands the big 12 playing KU. How about Johnny Dixon the third? Yes, he did a lot of phenomenal things, obviously at North Texas, but before North Texas, he was at Virginia Tech where he was playing as a freshman and now we're going to get to

6:11be the biggest beneficiaries of everything that he's seen. He's played over 750 snaps. He's only allowed two sacks and 430 opportunities. He helped rank the number five run blocking guard in the American Athletic Conference this previous season. Obviously, he helped the Mean Green achieve the nation's top rushing attack and most rushing touchdowns. He played here in 10 games, Virginia Tech, where he was up for honorable mention, all conference, two team all district. Last but not least, let's talk about another dude that came over with him from North Texas. How about Braden Nelson, who's a junior offensive lineman for the cabal with six foot four and other 320 pounder started all 13 games that left tackles this previous season. He paired in 12 games with 11 starts the year prior. He's played guard. He played both tackles spots. So you know, you're always you win injury away, of course, we don't want to see that happen. But you're also one injury away from somebody having the capability to move to a different

7:14spot. And I think that may be the biggest thing of all of these, these guys that we have coming in and supporting roles like you also have Coles, Eaton coming in six foot five through a hundred pounder, he's going to be a young cat that has the opportunity to learn from a lot of these younger guys, Isaiah Bowman, a young guy, Kale Hackeman. He's had a couple of years in the system here now at Oklahoma state, Louis Canepa. He was a massive probably the biggest offensive lineman addition this previous season coming out into Mexico state. And he had injuries to this previous season. So we unfortunately didn't really get to see him. You get Michael Chavez back, you get your Kobe Sanders back, you get Desmond Maglia coming in from North Texas. So I think all in all, Oklahoma state needs to be excited about the quarterback, the running back, the wide receiver, all the fancy bells and whistles and toys that Eric Morse has brought in. But we all know that if the guys up front are not good enough to keep Drew Mess to make our upright, then it's hard to get insanely excited. But again, that is why we should be insanely excited is Drew Mess to make our nose with

8:15this season could provide for not only him, but Oklahoma state. He also knows that if Oklahoma state wasn't going to be heavily investing in the offensive line room, that it wasn't going to mean a hill of things. I would imagine he knew or he knows that if you get all of his best players from North Texas to come with him, which for the most part, they were able to do that. On top of that, you're going to have to have some of these action lepo sexton level dudes come in that have power for starting experience, whether it be in the ACC or the SEC or the big 10, you have to have some of these guys come in. Not only with help representation of how things have gone at other places, but also just to grind Indiana, one national title with the oldest locker room, age wise, and Oklahoma state seemingly when you look across the transfer portal, we were able to bring in a lot of pieces that have multiple years of starting at multiple different levels before coming here.

9:16When you mix those two things together, all this North Texas talent that has come over with some of these guys that have played in certified big 10, SEC, big 12 matchups, that is the merger of the offensive line group that should keep the Heisman hopeful candidate upright for most of the season. Cowgirls obviously got a win, which moves them on to the next round. The NCAA tournament and cowboy basketball, unfortunately, did not quite to have that fun exhilarating experience because they didn't quite get it done. The beauty of the basketball team in general is most of these guys should be coming back. Right. And the comments consensus would be that you should be able to get Victoria's Miller back. You could get Isaiah Coleman back. I would imagine if that is in the cards, you should get McCoy rag going back. You should get Ben Ahmed, Ryan Crottie and all those dudes coming back. Kanye Clare should be back. Jaylen Curry could be back. Then you have, of course, Jaylen Mott, Nadi coming in. You have Latra all men coming in.

14:25I think you're going to be able to see in the portal what we need. But it appears as though Robert Jennings is going to be back. So we'll have another, you know, forward type guy down low. If Andre Vukovic is healthy, I think a lot of us would like to see what he could potentially be. A multiple years into college now, multiple years into what Steve Blotz is trying to get out of him. So at the end of the day, was it an ugly, ugly, ugly loss? Yes. I mean, shout out to Wichita State. Oklahoma State should never be getting throttled 96 to 70 by a team right up the road. So from that aspect, yeah, I mean, I understand the loss wasn't embarrassing. Getting to the NIT in the second year, I didn't think it was that bad of an ordeal as long as we didn't get destroyed, unfortunately, that did happen. Shout out to Kenyan Giles, putting up 28 points and being essentially unstoppable for the Cowboys. Kristen Coleman had 22 points, 10 rebounds, put up another double, double, Kanye Clary

15:28added 19 points, Victoria Smiller had eight. At the end of the day, the Cowboys, I think, have enough pieces to be successful. The biggest thing I think everybody wants to see is this team commit to defense. This year was a little bit different. You're kind of getting a short run in the portal this previous year. He kind of had to get what he could get this year. You bring in Victoria Smiller, you bring in Anthony Roy, you bring in Kristen Coleman, Isaiah Coleman, and people didn't forget Isaiah Coleman was a huge addition out of the portal. We had to fend off a lot of big East ACC teams to acquire the services because at Seton Hall, what was the average and almost like 15.1 something to that effect points a game. At Oklahoma State, he's been a good piece, but he hasn't necessarily been this big massive transfer portal piece that we're hoping he may be. Hopefully we just see a different level of commitment to defense.

16:32That's the only thing that prevented this team from being good, even this Woodstock State game. That was the biggest difficulty when we would go on these little runs where we would offensively have some production, we just couldn't stop them. Every time that we would have a nice little run, they would have a couple answers. That's what prevented Oklahoma State from being where they should be right now, which is in the next round of the NIT tournament. The NIT tournament should have never been the expectation coming into the season, a highly doubt that it was, but once you get there, you just have to make the most of it. A lot of the conversations were, well, this seems to be inevitably designed for Oklahoma State in Auburn to meet up. I think you could see that that was a viable target for the NIT tournament, but it didn't happen. That is disappointing. But the cowgirls, they didn't disappoint. They got a dub. It's Jaycee Hoyt's first W in the NCAA tournament, so shout out to her and it'll be our attempt

17:39to get to a sweet 16, which would be our fourth ever, sweet 16 ever. We face one seed though, the UCLA Bruins, and if you watch the Lady Bruins right after the Oklahoma State game, the other night, you probably had the same feeling I did of, well, who can stop them? I got a bunch of girls that are 6667 that run the floor, and they're incredibly difficult to keep off of the boards, but whenever Princeton was a big deal, right, because Princeton came in as a top 25 team. So now the cowgirls have 10 wins over AP top 25 teams under the Jaycee Hoyt era. Michael Gray is 14th nationally with her 92, made three pointers. A Chola Ca, a career high, 28 points and 10 boards in the win over Princeton. We're also 6th nationally in field goal percentage at 633. The last one over a top 10 team came over number 9 TCU.

18:44I don't know how we get it done against UCLA. Honestly, their presence down low is just, that's going to be, it's going to be a lot. I mean, a Chola Ca has gotten increasingly better almost every single game. She might be the most improved player on this particular roster, and I think she was pretty impressive coming over from UCF. But I think as the season has progressed, we found ways to make the Chola Ca center of attention offensively, which I think a lot of people assumed that the outside perimeter shooting of the cowgirls was always going to be what people needed to defend from. And again, you're looking for evolutionary moments out of Jaycee Hoyt. Last year, we got destroyed in the rebounding department. So she seemingly made a concerted effort to go out in the transfer portal. And not only get some individuals that could help us, but you go out and get somebody like Haley Timmer that was on that very team that beat us. And once again, in this ballgame, you saw a different version of the cowgirls.

19:47You see a team that is consistently growing. What a lot of our losses this year, defensively, they were really good about shutting us down from the three point line for the most part. And that seemed to be what Princeton was trying to do. And then a Chola Ca shows up. And if that's going to continuously happen, we're going to have an opportunity in the UCLA game. We're going to have to get hot from outside. I don't think we're going to be able to win this game working inside out with all of their, their length like realistically, UCLA lady Bruins, they have more length than a lot of these dudes in NCAA teams, you know, that are making these, the Cinderella runs. So yeah, I don't know how Jason Hoyton and cowgirls get past that. But if they do, it's hard to envision very many teams in the country having the ability to, to slow down the cowgirls if that were to happen.

23:53Cowboy baseball gets themselves back into some level of contention for big 12s. I know it's super early, right? So getting swept by UC F at the end of the day shouldn't have been a major ordeal for Oklahoma state. Yeah, as long as you capitalize and we begin big 12 play, oh and four by dropping the first game against Baylor, thankfully, things got ironed out and the cowboys did find a couple nice ways to respond and get a couple of dubs that you have to have. If you're going to make any hay in this conference, you got to be able to win these series and lose in the first game, four to six, honestly, Ethan Lund, bridge pitch really, really well. The situational hitting was a little lackluster, but it was an intense game all the way to the end. Baylor just found a way to manufacture more runs in the end, game two in the folds of honor uniforms. But I've been so mad if we'd lost in them, gorgeous, gorgeous uniforms.

24:55Thankfully, we did get a dub, five to three and, you know, Maro Pesca. He just continues to prove to be that guy that you can continuously rely on Brock Thompson. He only scored in one run, but it was a big one. Colin Richie struggled a little bit, but did have a nice hit, Aiden Miola and Miola had a couple really nice hits. Campbell Smith went, continues to do his thing, Garrett Scholl. He had a thread, a two for three game, and he really, really, really needed that. Mario went most of the game, then you had Chi Fox when we rode coming in to shut her down. So it does appear as though, so many roads probably now being geared a little bit more towards the closer. And then game three, it was nice to see Hudson Barrett back up on the bump. Yeah, we'll see a little bit rusty. Yeah, sure, but the Cowboys bats came alive and giving him some confidence.

25:58It probably was definitely been official. I love seeing Ezra Essex. So him scoring a run, getting a nice hit up the gut. What was fun to see Brock Thompson scored a couple of runs, had a couple nice plays, a couple big time hits. Colin Richie had a really, really big day. Aiden Miola, he was also to chip in another run, another hit, Sebastian Norman, continues to swing an impressive bat. Danny Wallace showed a ton of ability, a ton of speed, even before giving way to Alex Conover come in. He looked good. Colin Bergman continues to, I think, matriculate up in the right direction. And Garrett Scholl, he had a couple more runs and hits in this series. I think you're starting to see a little bit better version of Garrett Scholl. He drew Blake, looked pretty good, Zane Burns, well, he was all right. Bryce LeBlanc continues to be a young arm that the Cowboys look for and then, you know, Noah Weck.

26:59Noah Weck is going to put himself in position to end up being the top closer in the big 12. And he might even be one of the top closers in the country, the way that he's currently playing. And if he can keep it up. The Cowboys have a big one game test against Missouri State, Missouri State is a very quality ball club, you know, much like Dallas Baptist or Oral Roberts. In the past, these are the games that we had difficulty winning. So we have to prove that this is, you know, a little bit of a different team and we can win those ball games. And then you have BYU. No knock on BYU, but if there's going to be a couple series here and there that were able to sweep and get ourselves kind of back into this big 12 conversation, BYU is a team that is sweepable, not saying that we should, but it's possible.
