So yeah, just recorded a couple hours ago with Rachel. I wanted to wait this week. So I've been talking about big brother all seasons seemed a little ridiculous to wait until next week to break down the finale. Rachel and I had a good discussion about devins about icons about should devins have called
Taylor's bluff. A lot of good stuff from Rachel here. I did ask her what I talked about in my daily roundup this morning. I did ask Rachel about that final H oh H competition and how those questions seem ridiculously impossible to know. But she did give me an answer that now makes a little more sense to me as to while it does seem impossible. But devins went six for six and usually someone every season gets all of them right. I was like, okay, now that makes sense to me. We also talk about Taylor's just brutal answers during the final jury questioning and so much other stuff. So I don't want to spend really much more time. Introwing this so we can just get right into it. So here we go. Podcast number five, 15. All right, let's bring her in. You know her as the winner of big brother season 13 also appeared on numerous other reality
shows. Multi time guest on the show bringing her back now to talk last night's finale. It is Rachel Riley. Rachel. Oh, I'm so excited. I was like, hey, thanks for having me again. I'm so excited. I thought this was a great season of big brother. It really was and I know it's I was talking to somebody earlier this season. I'm forgetting who it was. Maybe it was Terran. Yeah, it was Terran. And I was like, look, you cover it way more than I do and you get into the weeds of the internet community when it comes to the show. And it really seemed like this season. The internet community really got a little mean and it got a little the discourse online became almost rude, you know, going after Becca Devins attacking Devins kids. Like it just seemed like it was almost getting out of hand and I asked him, I go, you cover it more than I do. But you know, the last few seasons, I pay attention online and I just never remember to season online having this much just hatred and vitriol on it towards the contestants
and just dissecting every single thing they said on the live feeds. I'm like, come on, people. It's too much. Maybe people were bored this season. I saw and I've been watching all your videos too and obviously listen to Terran and a big, big, uh, rap, yeah, our fan. Yeah. So I thought that this season for me as a viewer and a live feeder, I've also been hanging out in Ramble and chat BCC. So like in that chat, we keep it, you know, we're not like there's no tax. There's just we keep it very game oriented. Um, but it has been really fun to watch the icons play and to see them play the, uh, playing the newbies, I think because there's so many times when they should have gotten them out, there were so many people that told them like Jason was like in their face telling you got to get them out or some one of them will win and they didn't listen. So it was like I started rooting for the icons and like obviously it was hard on them. I wanted like wanted to see them put up and I wanted to see them having to play, but
it was interesting to see the dynamics of the game this season and to see how people were um, like relating to the power shifts and how the icons were able to pull it out every week. And I didn't have power. That was kind of crazy to me. Uh, so I thought it was a really fun season. I think Devon's played such a great game and I was really rooting for him to win. Well, I think he said it best in one of his answers when they were, you know, had to answer final two questions. Yeah. He basically said, yeah, we might have been given advantages in the game, but outside of like one or two weeks, you still had only three icons and 12, 13, 14 other people at any point. Now, I understand from the very first H oh H whoever gets power in that first H oh H kind of sets the tone because you have to kind of kiss up to them, but you could have just kissed up for that one we got through and then after they weren't in power, you know, D got the second, uh, D got the first and then Devon's got the second H oh H. But then
after that, it wasn't until D won her second H oh H where you could have flipped the house at any point because you had the numbers to be like, you know what? Yeah, we were with D and Devons on the first couple of weeks, but now we got to get them out and they didn't. And they had so many people so vocal about it too. It wasn't like they nobody was talking about it like Jason was telling them Rome was telling them. So I think that, um, I think that the new players look at the icons as these other worldly characters and they want to learn from them for sure, but also they don't look at them as other players in the Big Brother House. They treat them like they are the celebrity icons. And I think that that does make a big difference. However, there's again, only three of them and they were able to make it work in their favorite every single week. So it was like, you got to do it. You know, last season when I was the only player, I didn't have anybody's.
I remember I would have to just try like my hardest to make them think that they had to be so afraid of me because if, you know, they weren't, then I was terrified that they would put me up and just target me like how they wanted to week one. So I think it's like, you have to be really careful in that game of being able to play a certain line where it's like almost in the middle, but you can't be too much in the middle because we saw that what happened with Drew and Taylor, right? Like, you want to have everyone like you because you never know where the power is going to shift, but you also need to make sure that you're still making moves. And the jury wants to vote for you. Well, I think, you know, especially we talked about it last year with you is that it was utterly amazing that you never got put up on the block as the only person coming back and people, you know, in the beginning targeting you, you know, your best friend now, Jimmy, wanted you out from the get go. 100% yeah. And yet you were able to talk yourself off every single week. Every week and even say speech in the final like his final two speech or whatever not
final two, but you know, he was first out. His speech, he was like, you know, we got to get rid of Rachel. She's going to win or she could win the game. So I think I was really nervous after that because I thought they are for sure going to come for me. And I thought that the same thing would happen with the icons this season, especially the survivor players, but it didn't. And they accepted the survivor players and they kept wanting to work with them. And they kept following them around. So they played a great game and D this season is kind of did what you did last season. Like D was able to talk herself off the block. Yeah. You know, they got her up there. And still we're not able to get her out. Yeah, one time she was saved by the diamond power veto. Diamond power veto. But the other time she literally should have been gone and was a tough stuff out of it. Yep. And they voted out one of their own. Yeah. And voted out one of their own. And it's really it's really fascinating to me.
And I'm glad that Devon's one. And I think he should have won, especially against Taylor. Now here's the thing. Obviously, everyone's talking about the Devon's betrayal of Drew last night. And you know, you and I were speaking before the show and before last night's finale. And we are on text message and we're just going over the votes. And I'm just like, look, I just, I don't see any way Taylor wins. I can't see her getting four votes. But what she did was waited to the 11th hour and said, look Devons, if you get rid of me, I'm going to go into the jury house and I'm going to tell Yash not to vote for you. I'm tell I'm not going to vote for you. And that clearly flipped Devons because Devons was planning on taking Drew the whole time. Yeah. And so my take today was I think he should have called her bluff because in the post exit interview that she did with Sharon and Mike and Dalton, she said she would have voted for Devon. I've ever wanted voted for Drew. So she basically conned him into taking her to the finals and it was genius.
It was so genius. It was such like, I think that should have been her final two speech. Honest to God, like that was her biggest move. It was such a big game changing move for her game because yes, she had to get all the way there, but getting someone to take you to final two when they had no plans. That is iconic. Like that alone could have swayed the jury. I think if she would have argued it in a better way. And she also, you know, also she didn't play that new B card, which I thought was very interesting because she only really mentioned it once, but the way that she articulated it it wasn't didn't feel that she was saying it in a way where she was like, I had to play the game. Devons had to play the game too. So she should have said, I was a new player. We came in as new players, totally different. And I don't know why she didn't really go for that and like really drill that home with them because I think it would have might have swayed them. I thought her answers were awful.
Like she gets terrible in the final two. Like and I don't know. I mean, even if she would have presented that, I said it. I go, I think Devons in his answers made a better case for Taylor winning than Taylor did. Yeah. 100%. The fact that she, like when Devons said, I got rid of you Drew because Taylor told me last night that if I didn't, that I would lose to you, that alone might have swayed my vote as a juror because that's a huge, huge move. I don't think it's so hard because once you get to the final chairs and you're about to put your key in, I don't know that what any of these players say really changes or sues the vote. We have seen it happen, but I think typically the people kind of go in knowing who they're voting for. So here's my question. So her whole thing was, if you don't take me, Devons, I'm going to go over to jury and
I'm going to get people not to vote for you and I'm not voting for you. But now that I think about it, it went into the third person. Yeah. How much time does she have? Because the first time they see her sitting in the chairs, and I don't think they allow her during commercial break to turn around and go convince Yash and Barrett not to vote for him, right? No, absolutely not. And what do they think about it? I think because he's, you know, he's never been a big brother during the board, right? He's never, he doesn't know how it works because in survivor, it's so different that they all go to Pandarosa. They have their big meeting. These jury meetings last hours, right? So I think he probably thought like, wait, if she could go, she might be able to sway them. But if she's a big brother during the board, she might be able to go to the next person. They are only going off of whatever literally just happened. They're not going to be able to have time to sway the jury. Her question, she, who knows what question she would have even asked that their juror always gets a question. Yeah. But that wasn't going to sway the jury either. So now I'm just looking at it.
Let's just say Devon said, you know what Taylor? I don't, you know, no, I'm taking Drew. This is the promise I made. Devon has Angela's vote, these vote. And now we know he would have had Taylor's vote, even though she said I'm not voting for you. So now he only needed one vote out of Melody, Yash, Barrett, and. Well, and he would have, he would have had Barrett's vote because Barrett said that, what Barrett have voted for Devon's overdrew? Well, Barrett said he said that he would have in the roundtable, right? Or in one of the things because he said that Devon's that, well, Drew turned on him. But then also he said that Devon's was the one that was calling all the shots. So that Barrett was going to reward that. So I think he probably was worried that Drew would get Barrett's vote, which is something I was saying last night at our watch party that that's something you think about when you're in that final two chair, because I was convinced when I was season 13 that Adam would have
had votes because he was friends with people. So you just think in your head, you're like, wait, is this relationship strong enough to give them a vote? Or are they going to vote based off of gameplay? So you never really know what how people are going to vote. And we saw that last season with Vince Vince got only what Morgan's vote, right? So it was like, you never know how people are going to vote in the very end. I didn't watch your season. You know that. But. Yeah. How did your ending play out? Did you win H oh, H three and made the decision or someone took you to the finals? I won the final and then I made the decision. Yeah, and I had had a promise with with, sorry, with Porsche. And I said, I'm never, I wouldn't have turned on her also. Porsche and I worked together in the game and then I made a deal with her final four. And I was like, I'm not going to back set her. You said if I would, if I win third H oh, H I'm taking, I'm taking. Yeah. Yeah, I just, I mean, I'm glad Devon's one.
It was, it was cool. Me too. Yeah. I just wish he would have called her bluff so he could give his boy 75,000. Like that's all. I know. I wouldn't love to see Drew win something last night. Drew really grew on me. Like I'll all season long. I was like, my gosh, this 22 year old, I can't relate to him in any way. Yeah. Obsessed with his looks and his fixing his hair all the time. So honestly, he was outside of Devon's indeed. He was, he was the thing this he's like, he had a good case to make at the end. Like he was involved in every conversation. Like what, what Devon said, like I give us up to 530 every morning, he was involved. He talked to everybody as opposed to Taylor who clearly, you know, we can get into that real quick. And this is what I wanted to ask you in regards to Taylor because I heard this and then I heard the opposite. So you know, we hear this that when you are there in the house, even if you hate everybody, you can't just go up to your room and sleep for 10 hours a day. Like from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
You have to be away. Don't do it. Yeah. They won't let you sleep, right? Right. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. So, but we hear all season that Taylor kind of just kept to herself and was in her pot all the time. But so I guess she wasn't sleeping. She would just lay there. I guess I guess we'd have to talk to people over there. I saw some clips where she would be like reading the Bible. Sometimes she would just be kind of like laying there with her eyes open. But this is the thing in big brother there. It's such a social game. So you do really need to be out there with the people. But there are no opportunities to get away. So you can't escape and you do need to be able to escape certain times, right? You need to be able to go somewhere and cry and think or whatever. But I think if you do it, if you make it too obvious and you do it too much, then people start to say, oh, you're always in your pod. You're always doing this. You're always doing that. And that might not even be the case. It could be like an hour a day.
But during that hour a day, everybody's in the pool or they're outside making lunch or you know, you just kind of have to be seen. And I always say big brother half of the way to play that social game is just to be seen. Because if someone sees you outside, they think you're outside with them. If they see everyone's outside, they're like, where's Taylor? You know, so I think that that is her big flaw there. I think she should have been seen more. But it's like, you don't always want to go and go out to the pool and swim and have to talk to everyone. But there's like a lot of lounge chairs. There's like that hammock. So there's always the opportunity where you can just kind of be seen. Same thing with like the chess room. There's a couch, you know, right by the chess board. And if people are playing chess, you could just go sit on the couch and watch them play chess. And then you're not, you don't even have to be in the conversation. You don't even have to talk to them. But if you're just there and they see you, they just assume that you're always round or they see you all the time.
And big brother is just one of those games where it's that you just need to be seen. It doesn't work the same way in like survivor traders. But on big brother, it's very important that the other people see you because if they don't see you, they think you're either talking about them or you don't want to work with them. Yeah, and it seems like she was more off the grid, you know, just a loop and they looked at her like that. Like, you know, when when she took to the finals, yeah, when she took to have into the finals, I'm like, okay, she's not going to win.
She's right. And I was like outside of Lala, I think she's getting beat six one and she did. I didn't think she had much of a case. She certainly didn't express it very well. Like we said in the answers, but I think she didn't have a resume. You know, the first two, the only two H oh, H is she won. We're literally when there was like, she only had to beat four when it was down to like five. And I think she only had to beat four other people. And then when it was down to three and she only had to beat two other people like she never was a comp threat at all. And then her social game clearly wasn't great because everybody in their exit interviews which I read every week because it gives you an idea of what people thought about it in the house. None of it. Not that they were trashing her, but all of them said like, yeah, I don't think she's really playing the game that much. Now she can sit there at the end and say, while you guys all thought I wasn't playing, I was sitting there on my pod really thinking about things. I'm like, I don't know if that would ever fly, especially with me, isn't it, I'd be like, no, yeah. I want someone involved. Because you, especially if you're a player who had to really play the game or felt like
they had to play hard or that they were being treated unfairly, you keep seeing people that are just kind of hanging out and you're like annoyed by it. So you view it as her just hanging out, whereas in reality, I don't know what she was doing, but they viewed it as her just hanging out. I think she would have needed to, she would have needed to argue how Ashley did where it was like I was turning friends into our enemies into allies and making friends. And, but she didn't do that. Ashley last season put in the work because she was always around. She was always talking to people. She was always, you know, making relationships. You know, everyone in the jury last season loved Ashley where it was like this season, I don't think Taylor had the same relationships. And I think that because if you look at it like Vince last season, he had the resume, right? Like Devon's had the resume this season. The difference is is that Taylor didn't have the relationships that I think that Ashley
had last season. And I just think that that was her biggest downfall because she should have had Yash, like Yash should have wanted to vote for her, but she just didn't have that same relationship with him. He didn't respect her as much. Obviously, Lala, I think she should have, I mean, Taylor should have had Melody, right? But Melody, I don't know, whatever happened there. Melody, all season long, didn't want the icons to win. And yet she would have had Melody. Right. I know that's what I'm saying. She should have had Melody. And also Melody, because Taylor was a new player and Melody was a new player, they should have worked together. But they didn't have, she didn't have that relationship. Taylor should have had the Barrett relationship and she never worked on that relationship. I think she had been his friend and friendly with him. But I think that at the end of the day, the relationship, she really lacked being for social games, social games, sorry, social games. Yeah, yeah. It wasn't, it wasn't, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was
it was just a no brainer once he got there. I knew he was going to win. It was just a matter of, is he going to pitch a shut out here? Probably not Lala, but I was like, is it going to be five two? Is it going to be four three? I knew he had four and then for sure. Yeah, for the television night, he was going to get Lala's vote. Oh, really? Well, Lala said the person who I thought played the best game. And then I was like, wait, is she, was she talking about Tevans? Yeah. But no, I should get to talk, obviously, talk about Taylor. Yeah. I think if you paused it correctly, when at the right time, there was a split second when Barrett put his key in, you could see Devin's on it. Not a split second. It was, it was a good one or two seconds. He covered the top of the key. Yes. So you could see there's a key behind me. He covered this part and like he's supposed to cover this part. Yeah. And so once I knew that he had Barrett, I'm like, well, and that was before they went to commercial break before they read. I knew he won. Yeah. And then he knew he won.
And then he knew he had, we knew he had Devin's and Drew, right? De Angela and Drew. So that was three and Barrett was four. So we knew he had one. Barrett was four, yeah. A couple of them was about. I knew that Yash was going to vote for Devin's the whole time. I just, I don't think Yash respected Taylor's game. Yeah. Especially a guy that was a comp beast like him. You know, he was very much into gameplay. And it was just like, what, what can Taylor point to inner game that was better than Devin's? And there was just nothing there. A couple of things about last night's episode number one, you told me and then I think I saw it online swirling around. And this isn't a huge deal. But was Dan originally supposed to host the round table? Yeah. And Julie said it was supposed to be Dan. So I don't know what happened. That was interesting. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think the round table host is that big of a deal because I feel it's the same questions every season. You go around to each person and say, what do you like about Devin's game?
What didn't you like about Devin's game? What do you like about Taylor's game? Well, they didn't even show barely show Chelsea talking about it. They showed her saying, hey, I'm Chelsea and I'm the round table host. And then the rest of it was just the, you know, banter between the rest of the house guests. Yeah. I literally thought they announced weeks ago that Dan or Dan maybe put out something on socials that he was going to be the round table host. Well, and then Julie said originally it was going to be Dan. Oh, she did. Did she say that last night? I mean, she said it in an interview. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. So I don't know. I mean, I hope it's not a falling out with the show or maybe it was just a conflict and I mean, something I don't know who knows, but I think Dan, you know, he won the best winner to ever win. Like, he's such an iconic part of the show. So. Yeah. I don't think I wanted to bring up about the reunion show. I can't remember. Did you go to the reunion show? The 10,000, the thousandth episode. Oh, I had that thousandth yet. I did. So there was a lot of discourse online about CBS not paying for people to go out to that.
Yes. That's correct. I don't understand that. Like, this is your biggest thing. You do this once ever. Like, how can you know? How can you? Yeah. How can you? Okay, maybe not to flight, but at least put people up. Like, you had to pay for hotel. I wonder. Well, I don't know. Well, we ended up getting a chat. We did a chat, BCC house. So we ended up putting a bunch of people up in that house. And it was sponsored by chat by ramble. And they show care of everything. Okay. But I wondered if it's just kind of one of those things where it's like, if you invite, the one of my everyone and if you invite everyone, there's 300 something players. That's, you know, let's say it's $500 a ticket plus $500 a hotel room. So that's a thousand dollars. That's just so much money. You know, it's like, I mean, was it open? It was a budget thing. How was it? How was it? Okay, they basically said like, if you've ever been on our show, you can come out, but you got a, you got a friend for yourself.
You got to pay for it. Yeah. So I don't know how, I mean, I guess like what, a thousand times, I need to do the math. Let me get my calculator. It'd be like $330,000. That's what I was thinking. I mean, that's a lot of money, right? Like, I was like, wait, is it 3000 or 300,000? Because 300,000 is a lot of money. Because you have to think it's going to be at least $1,000, right? Yeah. Times like 350 players they've had are 300. Yeah, it's like 350. I mean, I understand, obviously, in the studio itself sitting there, you only have X amount of seats. Of course. They had a bunch of people in like a warehouse with a bunch of folding chairs. Like, it just didn't seem like it was planned out very well for this giant celebration of a thousand episodes. Like, hey, we're going to shove you to this background. Well, originally they had, it was planned for outside. So they had set it up outside and then it rained all day that day. Did you see how sweaty I was? I'm so embarrassed by my photo. It was the most embarrassing photo I've ever taken. It was like, so what happened was it started raining at like, I don't know what time
is our call time. Let's say 1 o'clock. So it must have started raining at like 12. Then it was just, it was raining and then it was so humid and it's never humid. It never rains in LA. So they had to move everything inside. And I think that that was just the warehouse that happened to be available. Oh, okay. Yeah, because I guess they had like all these other games set up outside and they had big brother, like, you know, memorabilia from the show and like all the big brother stuff. And then when it rained, I think they just were like, we have to figure something out. Okay. Okay. Here's something I want to ask because I don't understand this, but it's probably because while I watch every episode, I'm not taking notes and I'm not memorizing things that are happening during the show. But if obviously you're contestant, all you have all day long to do is sit around and think about things. And that is the final three H-O-H comp, which is essentially the same thing every season. You and I talked about this where it's usually a jury member does a video and says two false, two true statements and one false statement.
And I'm just like, as a viewer, I sat there and watched it last night and I'd be like, in the short amount of time, I have to figure out which one of these is true and false. I'm like, these are so impossibly difficult. Anything I would have gotten would have been a complete guess. And I wrote some of these down. Like Angela said, I played in every veto comp that Jason played in. So I'm like, okay, if your devins are Taylor, you have to sit there and be like, number one, Jason has been gone for six weeks. So I got to remember six weeks ago. And then you got to think of every veto comp, which had six players in it. And everything Angela was in was Jason in that. I'm like, how the fuck are you supposed to remember that? I thought that too. And then I was like, wait, was Jason in any vetoes though? Did he play in any vetoes? I don't think so. That's the thing. Again, you asked me that. I don't know. No, 100%. And last night too, I was like, it's A. And then it was C. And then I was thinking about it. And I was like, it's always something that is kind of obvious. Like, was Jason playing or did he play in one? And Angela played in one or did Angela play in any veto competitions in the beginning?
Because it's usually something that's like not terribly, terribly difficult. If you're following the game and playing attention, the whole game, which you are, because you have nothing else to do. And then I thought the videos were so funny. They were my favorite part of it, but they were so distracting. I kept thinking, how are you thinking about anything when these videos are going on? Background bear is like in the background on a little cruiser going behind one of like when it was at Melody or something. And I was like, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. I could not straight face to watch these videos and just not laugh and think about the game. Was was your final 3-H-OH roughly the same thing? No, we used to have the questions used to be the jury, what the jury members would say. So it would be like, Jordan said Rachel was my best friend, true or false or like A or B. Yeah, or it would be like, it depended how they did it, but it would be like, Jordan said
A, Rachel was my best friend or B, I can't stand Rachel. So it used to be like the opinions of the houseguests. But then I should read these in seasons. I feel like this is ever something like that. No, recent seasons, it's been like that for a while where it's been the full like, whatever, you know, where it's like, did I do this, this or this? One of Melody's things that she said was one of her statements was, I never played against the same person twice in BB Blockbuster. And I'm like, yes, see that. In five seconds, you have to remember, okay, how many times did Melody play in the BB Blockbuster? And then who did she play against and were any of those ever repeating? I'm like, it's not just the question itself is that you have so little time to break it down. And then what? So I literally, it's like, I need your answers and you're like, oh, I know. And yet, you might say how hard this is and debits went six for six. Like, you got up. You didn't miss it. Yeah. And Ashley said that we didn't get the last video because I felt like we were robbed.
Yeah. Well, and that's where Ashley killed Morgan last year, right? Yeah. She did really what Morgan couldn't remember anything, even though, Morgan couldn't remember any of the truth, like or any of the whichever one was false. Yeah. And Morgan had been studying non-sign 24-7. So I think it's like- You could have been the pressure, it could have been the time, the pressure. It's the pressure. You have to think clearly, you have to remember, did this person play? And then sometimes I would even guess where it was like, does that sound more like Lee than this one? Because sometimes you're just like, well, did Melody play, how many blockbusters did she play in? And then, will she only play in one? So yeah, she probably didn't ever play anyone twice. You know, so it's like they can get confusing. Yeah, no, it's, I think every season, I'm like, I would miss every single one of these and I would just be a complete guest yet every season. Someone does really, really good. I do, really well. Okay, well, I guess when you have all,
that's all you're doing is sitting around and talking game. I was totally wrong about the one where Lala was like, I, all my competitions were in the 70s. I was like, yeah, they were right. Weren't they in the 70s? But apparently they weren't. It was in the 60s and 80s on my phone. In the 60s and 80s. I know, I was thinking in my head, I remember the costume. And then I was like, I thought it was 70s, I guess not. Yeah, that's what I mean. Like the only person who would really know the answer to that right away would be Lala herself. Lala, yeah. Kind of like with Yasha's, he said, I had a faster winning time in wet and wild west at my time and didn't come next. I'm like, who would have known that? Who would have known that? I mean, they all saw times, but when you're thinking, again, let's also talk about this. And I brought this up in a video this week. This whole final week of Big Brother, either they need to condense it or the eight, we couldn't do HOH1 and two live. I saw your video. So I think it's too long, isn't it? The 60s, you have so much. It felt like it was longer this season. It felt like it was longer this season.
And it felt like they had a longer week of being the final three this season. And I swear because I remember when I was final three, it was like we went from five to four to three and the next day was finale. So it wasn't like, yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what it's like. Everything was crammed in. And I just remember being so quick. I think it, because even final five was like four days, final four was like three days. And then we had like one day off from final four to final three to talk to convince the person why. Or it was, I guess it was like two days because you have to do part one of the HOH. But I think we did part one of the HOH the night after final four was evicted. So it was, everything was like very, very quick in the finale or in the final few days or whatever. Whereas this time, I think they had a full week, which I wonder if... The HOH one was last Thursday and HOH two was last Friday. And so they literally since last Friday, from Saturday until Thursday, there's literally...
Not there, because you can't even think, you can be like, well, they could, they could think about what that, you know, Devons and you know, it's nothing for Drew to do because he's not competing. So for Devons and Taylor, but again, if you don't know, I mean, you have an idea, but you don't know specifically. But again, the things that I just read you, if you're Devons, how can you study? You would never study the time of Yasha's. Yeah, you wouldn't know this. Wild West versus the other thing. Unless you're told what the final three competition is going to be, they're not. Study this. Yeah. You can't, you know? And then I'll watch you in the study because then I'm not trying, because then I'll go on for a... It's all online, the Taylor thing where they were like, Taylor was looking at the dates and using the dates to study on the camera or whatever. And I was like, if they don't ever do dates for the final three's competition, so it doesn't really matter. That final three comp is what happened last night is similar. Every one of the jury says three statements two or two or one is false. And the statements are like, yeah, on day 50, you know? It's just like, you can't do that.
Well, I do know this. I always study the days and I would go through saying, this is what happened on day one. There was this competition, there was this competition, there was this competition, you know, Angela got whatever 12 minutes in this competition. Because anytime they show you times or they show you anything that could be important, you need to remember it. So when I went through, I would just go through every single thing that happened, we were wearing, you know, Rachel fell into a volcano. She was wearing a pre-stork outfit, like all that kind of stuff. I would just remember, I would go into the Velociraptor came in, was it a Tyrionosaurus Rex? No, it was a Velociraptor. I would just go through and all myself, every single thing that happened, plus you have nothing else in that house. So you are just literally your only job is to like think about what had happened that whole season. And I will say this, I do remember using, we always would get some little, I don't know, like a prop.
So let's say if it, this season, if they all had their like cave woman suits, you know, so they could still remember kind of like, oh, that's right, I dressed up in the 70s. This was, look at this really cool bandana from the Wild West. So that sometimes you can use prop help you remember things. So answer me this, there's the Beanie fandom online and then there's the BB alumni. I don't think the alumni had much of an issue with a Devons win, but there's a part of me that thinks that the icons got so much shit all season long because of this, the Big Brother fandom doesn't want to be infiltrated by the survivor people. And they didn't want D and Devons to win, even though those two, when you look at it at the end of the season, those two played the best game all season long. I don't think it's even close. Hands down. They were the two best game players. But yet so many people online were like, I don't want them to win. And I think it's just because this whole,
we're Big Brother, you stay over there. We don't want one of you guys to win. Now that a survivor player has one Big Brother, what do you think as for the alumni, they don't have a problem with it, right? Are they upset that a survivor player has infiltrated their game and now run their game? No, I think nobody actually cares. It's funny though, everyone talked about it. It was a big conversation in Chappie CC all season with the alumni. And it was a big thing at the 1,000th episode that was a big question. A lot of people were asking, they were saying, are you, do you want a survivor to win? And a lot of the alumni said, no, I don't want a survivor player to win Big Brother this season. And I was one of the only people that said, yes, I think that they have played such a great game. And not only have they played a great game, they were able to stay together and stay survivors strong in that game. And they made a lot of changes to the game that I think we'll see in future seasons. For example, D and Devon's flipping a vote
on a Thursday morning, never been done. We would never do that. It's just like Thursday morning, you think in your head, the vote's been determined. We can't flip it. Nobody wants to listen to flip a vote. But D and Devon's every single Thursday morning, that is when they would go to work. They would get the people rallied and they would flip a vote if they wanted to flip a vote. I think that to genius, I tried to do it. It didn't work. The fact that they were able to pull it off, I love that for them. So I think that that will be used in future Big Brother seasons. And it's really, it's a genius because you can start talking to people on Tuesday and by Thursday you're so exhausted. So instead of even worrying about it, you don't even think about it till Thursday, right? Well, you know what's crazy? Now that I think about this is, you know, the Thursday night competition only started in 26. We started three seasons ago. It was called the arena. And then in 27 and 28, they changed the name to the blockbuster.
But now that I think about this, I've watched season 21 to 25. And now I'm like, wait a second. On the Thursday episode, like, there was a time where we didn't have any competitions and pretty much there was, while it was live, everyone in that house knew what was happening. It was going, yeah. And it was just like, wow, that Thursday episode has been really boring because so they got first off, they got to keep blockbuster for you. Yeah, they will, I think. I think it's one of their best things that they've done in the new era. So, but literally for 25 seasons, it was just, hey, once the power of Edo ceremony was over, you all pretty much knew it was going home. Nobody was really going to get swayed in those three days from Monday to Thursday, right? Yeah, yeah, 100%. It was really frustrating. I wish we would have had it when we were back in, you know, 12 and 13. I love this change to it. I love the blockbuster. You don't know, you have to figure out how to maneuver through three nominations. You have to figure out how to maneuver that one person is going home
and how do we vote if this happens, how do we vote if this happens? So, I, and you know, unpredictable. Like when Angela won blockbuster, nobody would have ever guessed that. Like we all thought, You're only going to easily comp win all season? Yeah, yeah. And we all thought for sure she wasn't winning that one. Same thing with the win Devon's one, the last blockbuster that he needed to win to stay in the game because they were going to vote him out. I thought for sure he wouldn't win that and he ended up winning. And it was, it's so fun because this season really kept us on our toes. That was something that I really liked about this season as opposed to a lot of the other seasons that have a little bit of predictability. I think there were so many times this season where we had no idea what was going to happen. The production didn't know what was going to happen, the house guests sometimes didn't know what was going to happen. So I thought it was really fun that way. And I think a lot of that is credit to the icons. How upset were you that in the eviction this season
where somebody didn't get voted out, Haley? She still had three chances to save herself. Oh, I had. Yeah. War in white vocals. Yeah. I know. That was a long time limit. Yeah. I don't, I don't like the fact that someone gets eliminated on the show without being voted out. I'll never, I'll never like that. I don't care what twists they put to it and even giving Haley three opportunities versus only giving you three minutes or whatever it was. I don't like that part. But what do you think about my idea? And I know it's been brought up, but I brought it up and I got a lot of traction online about Julie not reading the vote count. Because I think you could get way more blind sides if she didn't say the vote count. I know, I saw that, but I kind of, I don't hate it because this is my opinion. I think if you can use that vote count to pin a vote on someone else. And if someone's like, if people voted so and so, though I don't hate that Julie reads it because you can use that as a game move.
But I think there is, there's no reasons for a lot of these votes when it's 12 zero who cares. But when it's, even when it's like 12, or even if it would be 10 to, like who cares? Nobody cares. I think it's the ones that are close are fun because you can get a good blind side and people are like four to three here, like, oh my god, what's gonna, who's four to three? That's so close. Or the tie votes, three to three tie votes. I love those. As far as elimination, I actually didn't hate Haley's elimination the way that it was done because I thought it was very strategic. Like you had the first competition and then you could bring a friend and then you save a friend, right? Then you have the second competition where you put two players in. So you get to pick if you have someone you're working with you think's a strong player and then you have someone that you wanna play them against you thinks a weak player then that the person would stay in, essentially stay in the game, right?
So keep playing. And then that person who wins if you think they're a strong player and they're your friends, they get out and they bring, they save a friend. So you can save your whole alliance because of that. So you could be very strategic. I absolutely love that. The white locus I did was the dumbest twist they've ever done and I don't care. It's so stupid. I felt like I got like I am still disappointed how it turned out and there's nothing that would change that. It was just such an unfortunate thing to throw in on day 60. So so silly to throw in something that has less time every round that you know someone is gonna go in and it's just a way to eliminate someone there's no strategy involved and especially putting it in with a bunch of new players that have never even seen the, it was a from Ranger games. They never saw Ranger games. They didn't know what Ranger games was. So they don't, nobody in that house knew the strategy. Yeah. It was, I don't know why they did that. I mean, I still don't know.
I feel very frustrated because I think it took away for a lot from the end of the season. Yeah, no, for sure. I just think having Julie not read the vote, if you just did that to jury because every, every pre-jury elimination this season was either zero or one vote. Right. And we know it could have been, it could have been three people. But then like, you know what, I would have voted for them, but instead of nine three, then I'm one of the three and now I stand out. But if Julie doesn't read those, I think it's an easier way to pick people and say, hey, they're not reading the vote count. You'll, they'll never know how you want. More people could get people to blind side. And I think I know, I don't think they'll do it. But I think it would be amazing. I think that would be really interesting, especially in the beginning, like, pre-jury because you would get a lot of, and if it's close, then they can always just read it. You know what I mean? Their production, they can change however they want. And if it's close and it's like something that
would change the gameplay or change the story, driven, then I think like they should read it. But otherwise, yeah, I mean, it doesn't add, it doesn't take away. You know what I mean? It's like there's no saying 12 zero who cares? Really? It's like, okay. And outside of last season, I feel like every vote pre-jury is usually unanimous or maybe one because someone wants to go for the front. The majority of seasons have been pre-jury votes have been unanimous or like, yeah, it's like their one friend. Yeah, that's what I mean. Let's let's read. And it's not so because you think of in your head, well, what's the point of saving my friend if everybody, there's no way that they're gonna go home. There's 12 votes. I'm literally the only one voting to keep them. And if they knew the vote count wasn't gonna be out there, you could actually vote for your friend because all Julie would say would be Rachel. Yeah, you'd be eliminated. And that's it. And then everyone can just figure out, well, they could have thought in their head. Oh, like you could have voted
and you could have, you could have gotten people in that in that short time. Like, hey, let's stick with our plan because nobody's gonna know. And so I think you could just get more blinds as it would make it would make the pre jury votes way more interesting. And then just stop it there from after that, then Julie can say the vote count. But yeah, all right, let's wrap up with this. Are you watching traders new blood? Of course, yeah, actually really like it. Do you like it? I think that it's interesting that watching the new players have never played a reality show play. So I do prefer the celebrity reality. Starting that's not just because I did it. That's not just because I've been on it. I prefer it because they bring more camp to it. They have the big personalities. We know the storyline. They have the costumes, the outfits. I wish we got more storyline from the players. And like the last one when Logan went,
when Logan was murdered, I thought, well, we knew almost knew he was going to be murdered because he all of a sudden got like an edit. You know what I mean? And like he hadn't been in any like really in the forefront of the storyline. But I do prefer the reality star version or celebrity version. But I am enjoying this. Because the way they cast that, it's pretty much the same every season. We're going to get a couple from the challenge couple from Big Brother, we're getting some housewives. So you have pre-existing alliances, whereas this new blood cast, we don't know any of these people. They clearly don't, you can't have any sort of pre-game alliance because you're meeting when they pick you up for the first time. Yeah, and also they don't have personalities. We've seen all the other celebrities on other reality shows. 100%. We don't know the personalities. We don't have the story. And the traders players don't have enough time to where we see them forming like relationships and alliances and stuff.
And just from the nature of the show in general, you don't, they don't give you a lot of time to like go in a room and talk and get to know people. You kind of have to, I don't know, like they don't really have the stakes that we have on the other seasons. But it is still fun. And I also, I really love the reality stars, bring it, they just bring the campiness, they bring the flare, the dramatics. And the round tables, I think the round tables have been a fun to watch, but I do think it's same thing. The round tables with the reality stars are a little more spicy. We get a little more back and forth. Yeah, oh, for sure. I mean, I think it's just, like I get it, they want to do a civilian version and they're filming this celebrity version right now. And I really, when this celebrity season was cast and the cast was in a couple weeks ago, it was a really good one. Like I, it's so good.
I really, like last season didn't impress me when the cast go out and I'm like, okay, this one. Oh my god, Chris and Chen were like, that's crazy to me. And then we have like, oh my, I mean, just such a great cast. Like in general, I think we have so many people. Who has been brother? We got Taylor, the season. Taylor and Jag. Oh, and Jag, that's right. Taylor and Jag. Who did amazing race on the same season, right? Yeah, and so they, and they got in fights on amazing race. So they have like a pre-existing relationship too, which I noticed they typically cast big brothers, survivors, and challenge players that have some sort of relationship dynamic from another show. Yeah, yeah. Final thing actually here, they announced this week that Gardener and Mehan are coming out with 24 hour millionaire. That's all that. That looks fun. I guess my question is based on the press release,
it's, you know, it says some of the best game players. So I'm wondering if this is going to be a cast of not just big brother or former players, but CBS game players, amazing race, survivor, yeah, I don't think this is going to be a newbie cast. It doesn't sound like it. And then I'm also wondering the way that they worded it is that it sounds like it's 24 hours of a competition, but that it's going to be aired across a full season because they didn't, they didn't word it to sound like it's one episode that it's going to be per episode, like a bunch of different episodes that they give away a million dollars. I think there's going to be 24 hours with one episode that we'll see watch and fold throughout the whole season. Yeah, and how many episodes that is, we don't know, probably like, you know, for a network show, like 10 to do something like this, you think it would be eight to 10, maybe 12. Yeah, yeah, that's what it's only going to be like you said, the filming, it's not going to be a 90 day,
you it's going to be 24 hours, 24 hours, which my whole point was like, hey, big brother, former winners, like how pissed are you that you won seven, you didn't even win seven, 50, you won 500, right? Yeah, I got 500 free. You had to put in three months and be away from your kids for three months to win 500,000 people are putting in one day of work and getting a million dollars. Well, I'm guessing it's a one person. And I'm guessing the challenges are going to be more intense. And I'm not sure, like obviously there's no sleep involved. But by the way, like for a 24 hour competition, you're not going to feel like you need sleep. But they said it's going to be extremely strategic and social. So I think they're going to have a ton of people with preexisting relationships. Yeah. That's the way that it's going to have to work because otherwise, it's not going to unfold how they're thinking, right? Like they're going to have to cast people that already are best friends already are worse enemies, you know, it'll be interesting to see who ends up on the show.
I almost feel like it's going to be similar to that thing that happened like a month ago, where you guys did that. Oh, the happy CC. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Me, see season. That was less than 24 hours, but it was just this quick. Here's an HOA, here's a Havar Vito, but it's going to have way more time to dedicate to things and stuff like that. Right. 100. Again, Jimmy one, Jimmy one, Jimmy one. Yeah. Your sister caused a stir in that, right? Yeah. It was very interesting. Yeah. Alyssa caused a lot of a lot of stir between Alyssa and cat. The whole audience was loving the drama. Yeah. But you know, the thing about that that was such an interesting concept. When we were coming up with it, it was so cat, the owner of the CEO of the company, cat and I were trying to determine how we could play a big brother game in three hours, right? And so we were like, well, we want at least like 15 people to play. And so we need to figure out how we can get rid of five people an hour.
And I think we ended up with like 20 players, maybe, but we wanted to get rid of, yeah, five people an hour and have a final five. So that the stakes had to be super high. Or these competitions where it was like, all right, two people get nominated. Plus then we were like, we need another third and then we need a save from the audience. So it just ended up, I thought it was like really fun. How it ended up unfolding. You know, we're playing or I mean, someone is, they're doing another one. They are going to do it again. They're doing it again. Yeah, they announced they haven't announced the cast for, but it's a survivor one. So it's going to be survivor versus big brother playing survivor. Oh, it's going to be playing survivor. You're not going to be playing a big brother game. Okay. Yeah, I mean, I don't know who's on the cat. Yeah. But it's going to be soon like before the end of the year or October. Oh, it's on October. Okay. Yeah. And it's going to be live to watch. So that's the interest. I only saw the clips on this one. Where was it? Where was it aired? It aired on YouTube and chat. BCC. I was on YouTube. Okay. I'll watch this next one.
Yeah. Cause I saw the clips and I was just like, oh boy, this is. Yeah, it was intense because we have like, it was, it was intense because there had to be five eliminations like per, like it was just so quick. It was so quick. The people were, it was like, you had your group and you had to stick with it. You couldn't like really strategize that much. You had to kind of assume that the relationships you had already built throughout, you know, big brother world. We're going to stick. Which I mean, that's kind of how it played out, right? What place did you get? I was eliminated right before the final five. So they had the final five. And then so I got like right before Taylor had to pick who she wanted to go to the finals with to and then the audience voted for the win. Are we all sorry? The jury. We had a jury vote for the winner and the audience voted for one spot. Hmm. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was like a really like fun show or fun little game.
And the final H oh, H was probably the best one to win because she got to pick everyone to go to finals with. Okay. Was it. Was it live or did you guys film it and then air was live? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I was here live. This one is happening live too. Okay. Everything will be live. It's hosted by Rob Cessar. You know, it's fun. But this one's going to because this one that you did was all big brother former players. Yes. All big brother all big brother players. It was the big brother. It was the thousandth episode. So we were all there. Yeah. And then this one is going to be a survivor game in Washington DC. Oh, it's going to be in DC. It's not going to be in LA. And it's going to be 10. I'm assuming 10 and 10 or 10. They announced the cast. I don't know if it's 10 or like eight or something. But I think it might be 10 and 10. But it wouldn't be even between survivor former. Yes, even. It's even between survivor and big brother players. Yeah. Yeah. All right, that would be interesting. So look for that in you said, well, we are in October.
It's October 2nd. That's coming up soon. Oh, shit. I mean, I was just coming a couple weeks. All right. Yeah, they have an announcement. So look out for cast announcements. Yes. Are you speaking of casting? Are you still doing casting for reality shows? Yeah. I do. I haven't had a lot of time to, you know, I've been falling into volcanoes and doing all that. Appalaine stuff. So I haven't had a lot of time to be on his show. But the last show I worked on was in what month are you or in October. So maybe like May and then I took the summer off. And so right now I'm going to start working on. I'm working with casting with Facebook with Meta. Okay. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, it's fun. I really enjoy working for the app is. What was the last show you did in May? What what what I did. I did a temptation Island and then I did married at first sight. Oh, temptation Island and that filmed this summer.
This past summer. Yeah. That just has an air yet. It has an area. Has an area. So that'll come. I'm assuming that's going to come out next in 2027. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. And then I did married at first sight in Charlotte. Has that aired yet? I don't watch Meredith first. No, that won't air. That will air. That's well. Okay. So we do we have some good couples to look forward to on temptation Island this year? My gosh. I'm temptation Island. Yes. Well, you do the couples are the singles. I do both. So usually I usually they put us on one where it's like you're in charge of this or you're in charge of this, but we have the couples pretty early on. And then it was like we need like, you know, one or two other couples because for whatever reason. But the singles this time around were really great too. The singles were really ready. And they're very excited about going out there. But yeah, I think it'll be fun. It'll be a fun season to watch.
If I'm not mistaken, I thought I read somewhere on one of the challenge. Survive as the challenge spoiler sites that one of the singles on temptation Island this season is from survive is from the challenge. I'm not mistaken. I mean, expect the end. You know what? I think I read that and now I don't even remember who it was. But yeah, there's there is a single, but yeah, I don't even remember who it was. So it doesn't matter. I'm not going to spoil anything. I can't remember. All right. Cool. Rachel, thank you so much. Great talk. Great season. Be me 28 now. We got to wait nine months before we can start talking about this show again. Outside of the quick October 15th show that check out on YouTube and chat BCC. So yeah, well, it's called ramble now, but yeah, same thing. Chat BCC ramble. Yeah, but that's going to be super fun. Whatever. Will there be any repeaters? Will there be any people? Or is it repeaters in terms of the big brother players that played in the online one? A couple months ago. We'll have to find out when they announce it.
Okay. We'll have to keep your eyes open for that. Yeah. All right. Okay. Rachel, thank you so much. We'll be in touch. Appreciate it. All right. Talk to her and have a good one. Thank you so much to Rachel for coming on. Really appreciate it. Good stuff. Really liked this season of Big Brother. And I honestly think if it didn't have D in Devons in it and it would have just been an all-newbie season, I probably wouldn't have. I know some people didn't like the icons and you know, oh, there were given advantages. But let's be honest, like what Devons said in this final answer, while they were given advantages after the first two weeks, there were still only three icons in there and 14 or 13 other newbies that easily could have just said, you know what, we got to team up and get these people out. And there were people in that house saying it all season, if an icon gets to the end, they're going to win. And that's exactly what ended up happening. And one in pretty much a blowout, a six to one vote. So they were calling it. They predicted their own fate. And that's exactly what happened. So congratulations to Devon.
Really cool to see him win last night, celebrate with his family. And yeah, I really enjoyed this season. I really did. Anyway, thank you all for listening. Really appreciate it.
