The Dodgers with now six games remaining, trying to clinch one of the top two spots in the National League and get a buy in the upcoming Wild Card round tonight. It's a bullpen game for the Dodgers Brock Stewart. We'll serve as the opener, Michael King. We'll go for San Diego. First, Pantum Uniclo Field at Dodgers Stadium is coming up at 7-10 between then and now. We got a lot to get to here. On Morongo Casino Dodgers on deck, you're going to hear from David Vase, our Dodger insider throughout the hour. We'll hear from the manager himself, Dave Roberts. When David Vase says this down with the Dodger skipper coming up in 45 minutes, the latest Dodgers injury news. It's all positive for the Dodgers, as they get guys back here in the final week of the season. Well, the Dodgers had a day off yesterday. Before that, on Sunday, they finished off the San Francisco Giants

4:08and a three-game sweep. Jack Dreyer was the opener. Emmett Sheen put down a bulk of the innings, and Sheen has been really good since coming back from Chipotle, Oklahoma City. On Sunday, five and a third, no runs. One hit, nine strikeouts through 93 pitches. He got himself in a hole. Well, Jack Dreyer did it in the first with an RBI single before Sheen took over. In the second inning, pitched into the seventh. The Dodgers offense, meanwhile, really struggled against Matt Wilkinson for five plus innings. Finally in the sixth, though, against the Giants Bullpen. Tommy Edmond got the offense going. Come down to the final day, but they're 78 and 78, 500. Edmond swings. Hits a drive, deep right field, way back and gone. It was a tank for Tommy, and it's a tie game. One-one. His Edmond hits his seventh home run of the year. Put it to the far reaches of the visiting goal pin on the right field corner. Tommy Edmond got the Dodgers on the board with a home run.

5:11In the sixth, his seventh on the year. He was two for his last 41 before that home run. That tied the game up at one of peace. Then in the seventh, the Dodgers offense got out for the Giants bullpen yet again. Runner on for Keke. Second baseman, Jonah Cox playing way over close to the bag with one out playing for two. And the first baseman, Harris holding on to Paula. Here's the pitch. Swing out line drive. Right center. That's going to get down. That's going to go. Edmond, club of Gilbert on the warning track. Muncie comes into score. Edmond, the run scoring double is Keke Hernandez. It's 2-1 Dodgers. Keke Hernandez delivers with the RBI double, and it's not even October yet. For Keke, that's the top tier play of the game. Brought to by Arco, quality top tier guys for less Dodgers up 2-1. They tack on one more in the eighth on a max Muncie RBI double. And I think I made that on RBI single. His 76th of the season as the Dodgers had a 3-1 lead.

6:11Brock Stewart had the eighth. Tanner Scott came in. He got the ninth. He'd give up a two out walk, but then a strikeout ended the game. Dodgers finish off the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. A 3-1 win. They're now 96 and 60 on this season. Chris Babuch gets the win in relief. Tanner Scott is 23rd save of this season as a Dodgers. After the day off, back at it on this final homestand of the regular season and it's 3 against the San Diego Padres. First up tonight, it is Brock Stewart on the mound as the opener first pitch at 7-10. And with more, let's head out to the GALPIN for broadcast booth as we welcome in Charlie Steiner and Rick Monday. Guys. All right, Tim, the Dodgers and the Padres. Only six games left in the regular season. The Dodgers 36 games over 500. That is a new season high. The Padres come in and they're on the precipice of getting into the postseason as a wild card team. So this is a must-win game for them. Really a must-win series for them coming in.

7:13I would really like this match up too. Dave Roberts was talking about a little bit earlier because the Dodgers have not been playing against teams that are in postseason contention until tonight. It's been a while. And while we say that, the Dodgers have 114 of the last 17 and for the San Diego Padres, they've not only won nine of the last 10, they've won 13 of their last 14. And right now, just about every aspect of the Padres game is coming really together. Well, the Padres have won 13 of their last 14. The Dodgers have won 14 of their last 17. And that's a lot to do with the schedule. Dodgers really haven't played very many good teams lately. Giants, Reds, Marlins, Reds again, Cardinals and Tigers. Not one of those teams over 500. So the Dodgers were able to fatten up and that they did. And so they're really going to be tested against a solid team that is getting better down the stride. And for the Dodgers, the curtain went up today. Rokisosaki off the injured list.

8:13We may see him possibly in tonight's ball game later on. And the other part too is playing in center field and batting eighth. Andy Padres. And welcome back. It's been a quick turnaround for Padres that broken the fractured hand, the left hand. He had surgery at pin foot in it. So for Padres, he's missed 27 games back in there tonight. Otani likely to be back tomorrow. Padres will be hitting eighth tonight. Mooky-Bets is leading off, which raises the question. When Otani returns possibly tomorrow, where will Betts back? That's a big question. Is he going to be, well, the other part too, is Otani going to be in the lead-house spot initially when he comes back. And what about Mooky-Bets? If you look at some of the numbers, I mean, both of these ball clubs can say, hey, look, our guys are hot. And you look at the averages. Well, for Mooky-Bets, the last 15 games, he's had 362. The last 30 games. Betts has really got it into a gear, hitting a 322. So where do you put him in the lineup? Because right now he's right hot.

9:14So it's the Dodgers and the Padres, a real rivalry these days, isn't it? First pitch coming up in just a bit. The first of a big three game series for both clubs. Tim. 11:17Dodgers have a clinch to play off. Birth. The Padres have as well. But this series is still a big one, Kiersten. It is still a big one. Look, when you think about kind of where things are at for both of these teams, the Dodgers have been excellent. You're starting to see guys really get hot and kind of get consistent. And then you have guys who are getting healthy. So that's a big thing for the Dodgers. Then on the Padres side, I mean, they've been one of the best teams in baseball. So right now you've got one in two battling for the best teams in the month of September. And four of the Padres, they won 13 of their last 14 games. They're looking to pop some bottles of champagne with the win. They're punched their ticket to the postseason. So things, this is where they want to be. They're trying to battle to be a wildcard team. And they are trying to battle to show that they're going to bring it to the Dodgers. If they get the chance to see them, hopefully come the NLDS. So both teams are still playing for a lot here. The Dodgers are playing for their buy. So it's not going to be an easy matchup. We know that whenever the Padres tend to show up, whether it's here at Dodger Stadium or when the team is playing at Petco Park,

12:21these two teams don't have to go after each other. And they've got, you know, they've got their big dog and Michael King on the mound today. So it's going to be a fun one here at Dodger Stadium. And the Dodgers getting healthy at the right time of the season. Show Hey O'Tani on the horizon here about to come back with Dodgers getting two important keys to this team back tonight. Yeah. So first I'll start with show Hey O'Tani. Should be coming back hopefully tomorrow returning to the lineup. But today as you mentioned, Andy Pahes is returning after he broke his hand about a month ago now. And it's crazy to think that it has only taken four weeks for him to be able to return to the lineup and be healthy. Over the weekend, he was able to take part in essentially a simulated game. We know what it's like as a pitcher, but as a position player, he would take advance and he would run the bases. Then he would go play in the outfield and was able to essentially lift about five, six innings of work. And so Dave Roberts that he feels really good as to where he's at with his buildup, he's young, he's eager to get back out there. So he's in a really good spot.

13:22And they're hoping that he can kind of play these final six games of the regular season to put himself in a good spot come October. Then they're also getting Rocky Sasaki back for Rocky. He's going to be returning in a different role. We know he's been on the IEL dealing with that blister on his right hand. The good news is the blisters in a good spot. And he's now going to be in a role as a reliever. So we saw an October last year, whether it was as a closer, whether it was high leverage innings, there's going to be opportunity for that as well for him this year. Today, it's probably going to be a multi inning. No exact decision because it is a true bullpen game today. As kind of when we see him come out, but it's likely going to be in with a clean inning. But Dave Roberts was saying they just want to get him in a position where he can build off of what he did last year in October. And be ready because we are going to be seeing essentially a closer by committee come October. There's not, you know, yes, in a perfect world, Dave Roberts would love to say that so and so is the closer. But they have a lot of arms that are healthy this year that can be high leverage arms.

14:23And they just want to make sure they're putting them in the best position to be successful. Well, postseason, Rocky is the Rocky that I like as he was really good last October. He is on the IEL with the elbow inflammation and of course will climb on the IEL his season is done. Well the Dodgers coming off a big three to one win over the giants on Sunday and Tommy Edmund. A big reason why he was two for 41 before he hit a home run in the sixth inning. Sparks the Dodgers offense tied the game at one. They go on to win it by a final of three to one and afterwards Tommy takes with David Vessay. Hey this guy last night told me baseball is a what have you done for me lately sport.

16:29You've done a lot lately the last two nights. How good does that feel? Yeah I thought really good to get the sweep. Just place some good quality baseball around. These are kind of games that we got to win and just kind of getting ready for playoffs. Baseball is the type of sport where you got to grind through the good and the bad. To get the results you got driving in the go ahead runs last night. Time up the game today. That's got to boost a little bit of confidence Tommy. Yeah you know feeling good hopefully getting out of the right time and you know carry the momentum over. Gonna enjoy the off day tomorrow and then got a big series with San Diego coming up. Do you feel like you guys are starting to hit your stride at the right time as a group? Yeah I think so I mean we've won a lot of games a lot of games lately and a lot of different ways. You know pitching's been amazing. Defend's been really good and our offenses has some really good performances as well. You know we've kind of just showed that we can win in a lot of different ways. You know perform well in all facets of the game and you know something that we're going to need once we get to playoff time. Tommy and Chris Boobitch were teammates at Stanford.

17:30He gets his first win in the major leagues since May. How good is it to have him on your side again? Yeah it's been really fun to have a familiar face here. I got to play with him at Stanford for a year and you know he was just a really really good competitor there and proved his time and he's had a good career with the Royal so far. Excited to have him here. He's done a really good job especially getting thrown into some leverage spots and really just performed well and I know he's going to be a big part of our whole plan going forward. The offense has done a lot more and the Phillies have faded to allow the Padres to sneak in this wild card race not only sneak in but they're they're very much in the conversation to be the number one seed amongst the three wild card teams. The Phillies are very fortunate to have one tonight because the Padres are on their heels and the Cubs they've they've cooled off as well so the offense has become a real thing for the Padres now. Dave real quick we have a date on Snell when is he coming back? Yes Snell threw a bullpen session earlier today so his left rank cooperated. He is on track to have a full regular start Saturday in San Francisco a pitcher friendly ballpark and certainly a place that he is very familiar with spending half a season with the Giants. It's kind of a balance for the Dodgers they want to secure a buy in the first ground but they're also starting to integrate guys in certain roles including tonight Rocky Sasaki out of the bullpen. And Andy Pahez off the injured Lesso for Pahez who missed 27 games is in there and we're going to find out because you know Andy was very very hot when he got hit on the left hand and that took place on the 21st of August.
