Do you think that parents ought to have the decision-making ability to choose the education for their children that they deem to be best for their children? Do you think that really if they choose not to have their children attend the government run schools, which sadly we're all forced? Yeah, basically a gunpoint to pay for those schools, whether we use them or not. Do you think those children that go through a process other than the public education says they ought to be discriminated against in hiring and against in job choices? Well, it's an interesting case coming out of Nebraska, a case where a young man was

homeschooled and his parents did that wonderful work of, and we know it's a sacrificial work of actually investing in the lives of their child. At this town, it has a homeschool, has considered homeschooling an inappropriate means of education for which somebody could be applicable to become a full-time firefighter in their town. Well, this is the show Don't In Buy The Cool Aid. I'm your host, Pastor David Whitney, serving as a senior instructor at Institute on the Constitution, and with me by a wonderful collaborator this morning is Dr. Brian Shelley. Brian, good morning. Good morning, dude. This is a hot issue because I think homeschooling has become wildly popular since 2020. Millions of parents saw what their poor children were being exposed to because the schools were shut down, so all the kids were back at home and on the screens and all that, and

parents passing through the room or whatever would get a little idea of what it is their kids were being indoctrinated in, and millions of parents hated what they saw and had removed their children from the public system and they got into homeschool. So the Prasket town, the Fremont Nebraska that did this, did this to a young man, 22 year old fireman who has been a volunteer fireman for a couple of years, and this young man wants to be a full-time firefighter. He applied for the full-time firefighter position, and his credentials were all fine except the fact that he was homeschooled because the city of Fremont requires that to be a fireman. I'm going to get this, to be a fireman, you had to have graduated from a high school accredited, according to their standard, accredited high school, which they say that's the public schools and that is not homeschooling.

You cannot be accredited as a homeschooler. Another discrimination, in fact so clear that across the country there are outrage and there's people contacting this little city of Fremont and saying, how dare you? What is the matter with you? Actually homeschoolers do far better. Most colleges recognize that homeschoolers are better academically than any of the kids that graduate out of the public school system. So people are outraged, I know we don't know the outcome yet, but they had another city council meeting to vote on this as to whether they're going to maintain the standard of saying, if you're homeschooled, sorry, you can't fight fires in our town because somehow your education is not qualified to deal with burning down a building, putting out a burning down building in our town because somehow homeschooling is not good at all. What's your thoughts Brian on this?

Well, this discrimination is really legitimate. It is the ill treatment of students who attend and graduate from homeschooling, whether than judging them on the merits they have under it. And I see the discrimination against homeschoolers is expressed in about seven different forms and this is probably the most common form. It involves employers, trade schools, licensing boards, rejecting homeschool diplomas as insufficient and it happens nationwide, but this isn't just something in big cities or whatever. The homeschool Legal Defense Association says that they'd log hundreds of discontent cases annually, other attorneys do so as well. One of the disembodied cases across the country, a cosmology school in Louisiana, denied admission to a homeschool graduate despite she met all the requirements.

There's a similar case in New Jersey. A Texas Department of Public Safety Office denied driving those licenses to homeschool students for lacking, quote, official school records. A Missouri State Education Department required a homeschool graduate take the GED to qualify as a substitute teacher. A Virginia State Regulation effectively scurreds parent-directed homeschool graduates from police officer positions. The Alaska Pollution Standards Council insists trooper candidates hold diplomas that are certified by the state or a local public school district and so they have rejected homeschool applicants. One police official there said in effect the regulation excludes all graduates from parent-directed programs from demonstrating eligibility. Local school districts as a matter of course do not review and certified programs run

by parents. Then as the case of Resla, the article applied for a job in 2020 with a South Carolina sheriff's office, he completed all the necessary evaluations but he didn't release those bureaucrats in the department, rejected him because homeschooled. And of course you just talked about this volunteer firefighter and he is somehow lacking in high school diploma is incapable of saving lives and extinguishing fires even though he's been doing it. And that is as long as HR politics aren't using common sense. And he was in college, I believe he has a 3.85 GPA so he's no slacker here. But homeschooled diplomas qualify graduates for federal student aid and riskment in the military. So why can't you be a cop, a firefighter or any other position?

There was a 2026 survey shows that 6.5% of US households now homeschool. That's doubled like you said since 2020. And a care cause is a 1990 amendment to the Higher Education Act that targeted homeschool graduates under the heading students who are not high school graduates which of course is a relic of early skepticism that some colleges, trained schools have cited to justify this exclusion. Despite clear department of education guidance confirming their eligibility and this act currently defines an institution of higher education as one that admits students with a high school diploma or it's recognized equivalent. And column homeschoolers students who are not high school graduates has caused colleges and universities to require homeschoolers to take the GED despite having liberal graduated.

And as you said, have educations far superior than their peers in public school. You know, one of the things, well this is very personal with me Brian because our church runs what's called a homeschool umbrella here in the state of Maryland which by the way is one of the better states in terms of allowing parents to direct the education of their children. We have been running a homeschool umbrella for more than 25 years now. I think we're going on the 26th year at this point in time. Hundreds and hundreds have graduated through our homeschool ministry. So we ministered to homeschool parents, helped them figure out curriculum, helped guide them with homeschoolers who've been doing it for decades, two decades for some of the homeschool leaders that are helping new parents who just want to get into homeschooling. And we have seen Brian, all sorts of applications people have gotten into the Naval Academy, got into the ROTC, all the different academies of our branches of the military have been

accepting our homeschool graduation certificate. We give a certificate as a homeschool umbrella indicating that they have graduated from our cornerstone Christian Academy. And not once I've handled numerous calls and requests for information and so forth, not once has there been the kind of challenge that you're mentioning happening around the country. So I'm pleased that at least to what state this is not being challenged because the evidence is very clear. When we see homeschoolers go through the process of what their parents are leading them in, they turn out better than the kids who go through the public education system. The question is how do you measure education? What's the best way we could measure whether homeschoolers and private Christian school kids are doing better academically than the kids who are in the public system?

Well, recently the US test scores have been tested against an international standard every three years. The PI SA program for international student assessment, these tests are done worldwide. The subject matter of course that can be compared. Math and the hard sciences, not the crazy self sciences like psychology, but the hard sciences and math, this test comes out across the world. And again and again and again and this year even worse scores for US students. The United States comes out nearly at the bottom of the developed nations in the world. That is, there are undeveloped nations, obviously their test scores are going to be much lower. But the American students have continued to fall as this PI SA test results were released showing that the scores had plunged by 14 points. Math scores ticked down by two points since the last assessment in 2022.

And students are not doing better. The K through 12 education system is going down in its comparison with other nations. And this is a concern because if we fail at math and science and the communists in China are succeeding at math and science or the other countries of the world are doing better than we are, we're in trouble long term. Because long term we're not going to have students who actually are able to succeed in the areas of math and science. But Brian, they'll know the 57 genders by the time they graduate from the public system. They'll be convinced that a little Johnny can become little Sally with a bit of a hormone injections and mutilation of their body. They'll have all these broke ideas filling their brains. And the fact when they graduate the evidence is they will be full on socialists that is they will not believe a constitutional republic is a good form of government.

Oh yes, all of that will be accomplished by the indoctrination system, which is why I call it, that takes place for these poor children who are forced into the public school system. Yeah, and this back before Jimmy Carter rewarded the teachers unions for supporting them and creating the Department of Education, we would number one in the world. And that we have declined ever since then. And there is a direct correlation between those two, the scores and the Department of Education. But beyond the legal and hiring barriers, David Homeschoolers report all kinds of social discrimination too. There's assumptions about poor socialization skills, they, what they call the look from peers that basically says, oh, you're one of them exclusion from school sponsored activities, sports, and so on to which they're entitled to participate in the public school system.

Skepticism from businesses about the believable of homeschool teacher credentials. One of these objections is that homeschoolers only for the privilege, because homeschooling works best of course when one parent stays home does the school administrative teaching work. Many people automatically assume homeschool families are those who are financially well off, but what a recent survey found was that on average, homeschool families earn slightly less than even the national average. These are just families willing to make sacrifices for their kids education. Another one is we're, what about socialization? That's probably the most vulnerable family that, that what you found. Go ahead. I'm sorry, say again. Yeah, we just missed it that you were saying that they are lower financially speaking on average than other families. That's right. They make less money than the average, so they're just sacrificing.

And then they ask, what about socialization skills? They're not awkward kids. They get socialized in their families with their friends after school. They are well adjusted people. Then there's the whether just religious freaks and that's not the case anymore. In fact, the probably never was, but recent surveys show that parental schools about school safety and academic are more likely to cause people to take their kids out of public school. Then of course, well, they're not receiving good education. Well, they do far better academically than the public school counterparts. A report on ACT scores showed that home scores composite ACT ACT score was significantly above that of public scores. In fact, they score up to 25 percentile points above public school students. Now, a percentile is calculated by comparing one ACT score to the distribution of scores

of all the students who took the ACT at a given time. So, students with similar scores are placed in the same percentile. It's in the act is intentionally designed to get most students scoring at the 50th percent mark. And on the ACT score report, the lowest percentile is 1 percent. And the highest is 99. And home school kids score 15 to 25 percentile points above public school students. And while public education has failed, home school is producing exceptional future leaders. Hey, man, I think of what used to be, I guess it still is, I haven't seen a packet cigarette recently, but there used to be a surge in general's warning on the PAC. You know, if you smoke this, it's going to damage your lungs, it's going to be damaging to your health. We all have a similar warning on public education. This is damaging to the mental stability and the academic achievement of your poor child.

So send your child into this public system at your own risk. That's sort of the statement. Well, we got to go to a break here at just a moment. This is don't in by the Kubelei coming to you over. Coming back from break on Don't In Buy the Cool Aid, this is the program where we examine the truth claims. Truth claims are coming at you every day from every angle saying this is true. This is false. This morning we're analyzing the truth claim that the public education is the best education and that the homeschooling is really invalid. But those truth claims are get evaluated on this show by two litmus tests. First, the litmus test being the word of God itself. God's word, the Bible is absolutely true. Everything it says is true. Anything that says something other than what the word of God says is a lie. It is not true. That's the first litmus test. The second litmus test is our founding documents that that glories the independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, subsequent amendments. That is the measure of what our government is supposed to be doing and what it is not supposed to be doing. We mentioned earlier the Department of Education. Well, it is unconstitutional and no money should be spent in that

vein at all. So, it don't abide the cool aid. We encourage you to go to AmericaOut Loud.News. Like our show. Subscribe to our show. Send your questions and comments as we would love to hear back from you. Well, on this edition we're looking at the issue of homeschooling, particularly this for 22-year-old Mr. Coates who's been denied a job at Fremont Nebraska. It's a full-time firefighter. Brian is interesting that he has received offers from around the country because other states and other municipalities really want to hire him. He's got fire departments from across the country as far as South Carolina offering him a job saying, hey, we recognize homeschooling is a valid and valuable preparation for life. So, it's not just all places where homeschooling is being discriminated against, but you're absolutely right as you pointed out in the previous portion. There is a discriminatory attitude towards homeschoolers and that's tragic because those who

know homeschoolers up close like I do, hundreds of homeschoolers that have graduated from our cornerstone Christian Academy know that these are sharp, bright young people. They interact well with seniors. In other words, they don't avoid adults. They interact with adults, often wanting to know information and seeking wisdom from those who are older than themselves. They have no problem interacting with a wide range of people. And I think part of that is the blessing of homeschooling means that they don't simply mix with the people who are in their own age group. You know, the whole idea of putting all the students in a classroom with everybody who's exactly within a 12-month birth range is how the public schools are functioning currently. But when you think back to history, we all know what the one-room schoolhouse look like. Kids of every age were all in the same classroom, which means they were all learning some different lessons. The youngest were learning

the alphabet. They were learning how to write the alphabet out carefully. You know, the others are learning about the Greek history or something like that. So, a one-room schoolhouse worked, but it meant kids of all ages were mixed together. And when we talk about the issues socialization, I think that's far better way in which to prepare people for real life. Because in real life, you're probably rarely going to be with a group of people your own age within 12-month period of time in any other context. You go get a job, but that job's going to involve you with people of all different ages. You know, you go out in society, you're going to find that unless you particularly work hard to make it happen, you're not going to be in a small group with people who are your exact own age. And the scripture, I think speaks to this. You know, it talks about the foolishness of youth and that if you're looking to young people for your, as your peer group to shape your thinking,

that is folly. We have an illustration of this with King Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, and Solomon, the widest man that lived and wrote the book of Proverbs, so inspired by God. And his wisdom, Solomon's wisdom, he wanted to pass on to his son Rehoboam, but his son was a fool. His son listened to his own peer group when it came to an advice about how he was going to conduct the administration of his kingdom and his peer group advised him very poorly, and it resulted in a revolution. Ten tribes, the northern tribes of Israel left the kingdom of Rehoboam, refused to be part of his kingdom because this foolish young man listened to his own peer group rather than to the wiser men who had been advisors of his father, King Solomon. Yeah, and Peter Prussia is usually never a positive statement, as it dates. You see, especially teenage boys doing very stupid things,

just because one of their peers challenged them, it's like, are you chicken? And that's the cause of them doing something that might damage them for the rest of their lives, foolish youth. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not stories and scars deproved that is the curse. But fortunately, something is being done about this, perhaps at least an attempt. In 2025, our Republican representative, Mark Harris, introduced a home school graduation recognition act. It was HR 6392, which would replace that misleading statutory heading students who are non-high school graduates with this phrase, students with non-traditional settings, creating a clear federal definition that homeschooled graduates are high school graduates for admissions and financial aid purposes. And the bill passed out of commanding unanimously, which really surprised me.

And Harris said, quote, no student should ever face discrimination or disadvantage during the college admissions process, simply because they were homeschooled. Yet in any university, still treat homeschoolers as second class applicants by requiring excessive documentation and additional testing. With nearly three million homeschooled students across America, it's long past time to end this discrimination and guarantee every student a fair shot at higher education. And I would include in that jobs and everything else that they want to do. This act closes a legal loophole, some colleges are using to discriminate against homeschooled graduates and showing homeschooled students face no disadvantage in the admissions process, solely because of their educational path. Jim Mason, who's the president of the homeschool Legal Defense Association, said that the

Homeschool Graduation Act will eliminate and begin to prevent ongoing misinterpretation and ensure equal treatment for homeschooled graduates by clarifying that homeschooled graduates meet the definition of high school graduates for federal student aid purposes. And he said his organization strongly supports this. So HR 6392 also passed out of the house in December of 2025. And now there's Senate Bill 3747. That passed out of the Senate Education Committee on February 26th. And on March 11th, the bill was placed on the Senate legislative calendar under General Order's calendar number 354. And of course, it's sitting in the Senate. And you know, you have to ask why is this state, whether local state or a local government, state government, federal government,

why are they attacking homeschooling? Because I think homeschooling is giving evidence, parents know what's best for their children's education and is exposing the utter failure of the public school system. And you know, one of the great causes I love in this, David, in this act, it states that the federal government has no control over home education. That is probably one of the best lines written in the last hundred years. You have to educate your children using an unalienable light. And it's past time that the federal government takes steps to protect it. We move these family protection acts. A passage of a homeschooled nondiscrimination act is crucial, both for homeschooling and for parents' rights in general. And so that's a HR 6392 and Senate 3747? Yes sir. Oh great, because those are the numbers then that we encourage our listeners here to communicate with those

who represent you in the House of Representatives, your congressman or woman. And your senator, that's again, HR 6392 urge them to become a co-sponsor of HR 6392 and in the Senate 3747. So that's House Resolution 6392 and Senate 3747. And you know, you wonder why is it sitting there in committee? What's holding it up? And I have a supposition and again, this would take some time to prove, but I think the evidence is there that the biggest opponents of homeschooling are the teacher's unions. Yes. Because the teacher's unions recognize if parents take their children out of the public system, the more parents that take their children out of the public system, the more power those education lobbies lose. And their power, those organizations, is enormous. Many, many states require a teacher

to be a member of one of the two main unions. If they're going to teach in that state, there are a couple of states, however, that have broken that kind of back of the union and said there's a freedom to work in our state that you can work as a teacher without being a member of the union. But that's the minority across America. And by the way, many teachers I've talked to hate the teacher's unions. I mean, they have to pay money into this teacher's union. They hate it because they know this teacher's union is working against them as a teacher, pushing things like Sodomy, pushing things like the transgender agenda into the classroom, forcing them as teachers to have to teach this way. There was a little bruhada that took place at a local elementary school against a particular teacher who was a math teacher. And I began to suspect Brian, there was something behind this. There were yard signs pulling up on people's bumper stickers all attacking this one teacher. What's going on here? And I began to do a little investigating. It took us to folks. It turns out this teacher was teaching math, one of those hard sciences.

And the math teaching in this elementary school was being forced to include LGBT propaganda. So what do you, two plus two? Well, two lesbians, bless two. Just forcing the teacher to try to propagandaize the children with this kind of prosodomy, pro transgender garbage, obviously coming from the teacher's union. And he refused to do so. He simply would not teach it. He was going to teach math, but he was going to teach math the old way, not including the LGBT and trans propaganda as part of his teaching of these elementary children. And they did a witch hunt on him. They did a Salem witch trial on him and ran him out. He's no longer teaching. But I think the whole campaign Brian was to enforce this LGBT mafia upon all the teachers in our public schools in our county that the warning was shown by how this man was treated. That if you don't teach this LGBT

propaganda to these poor little children, you're going to be how that out of here, you're going to be put on trial. And your life is going to be miserable. I have a family member, the nephew who's teaching in a public school. And he also has received all kinds of hateful treatment by the women who are in control of that school. They hate the fact that he's the only male in the elementary school. And they're trying to make his life miserable. I think in order for him to quit and leave teaching so that they can indoctrinate the children against all men. Because there would be no men there in that school that would have any influence over them other than the parents at home. And we know that sadly, many men are absent from the home. That divorce has resulted in the absence of fathers from many, many homes. So I see this whole big issue really comes back to the whole idea of teachers unions, which I object to altogether. I think there should be no teachers unions at all. Yeah. And you know, I know if everybody really recognizes, I know when I talk to some

people, they don't seem to think that there's anything really wrong with the public education system. Do you run into that too? Sadly, yes. Yeah. And the reason it's failing our kids is because it was designed to do that. In 1941, the Supreme Court declared secular humanism was a religion. And this is the first successful attempt to remove God, biblical principles from American culture. And humanism is the philosophy that underpins teacher degrees at universities. And as a result of this, Marxists have taken over the American school system, starting way back with John Dewey. He was an atheist. He followed the atheist philosophers, Hegel and Marx Darwin. And he plotted a long range strategy to reorganize public education to indoctrinate students in Marxism by slow incrementalism.

It could advance undetected. And in 1928, do another from the National Education Association, the teacher's human went to the Soviet Union and studied the Communist education system. And he came back with his list of 25 most influential books. And the first was Doss Copy Tiled by Karl Marx. In 1933, doing an group of Communist intellectuals published the Humanist manifesto, which rejects belief in God and his salvation. And it's what the court will then endorse. But Dill was a progressive humanist philosopher. He taught it through universities and was a member of many Marxist organizations. He schooled in schooling that focused on biblical character development. And he didn't want to teach kids to read before third grade. And he wanted to transform America into this secular Marxist college and many, or country and many of the principles that he

expounded are still taught in colleges today. So he's the one who's really going to promote the teaching of evolution in order to popularize humanism, which denounces any existence of God. And you know, if there's no God, there's no need for salvation or Christianity, which was his point. And he believed that kids needed to be reeducated or left in the Christian values of their parents. And he felt this would make them better citizens for the new world, which was a Marxist world-wide government. And this humanism Marxism is destroying education, it's brainwashing our kids, and it was why many parents homeschool. And what a drastic contrast between Duli and early Americans whose primary goal for education was that their children would be able to rule the Bible proficiently and live its principles freely. And Duli and his ill-effectively transformed

the education system so that today, 88% of Christian young people deny their faith by the time they graduate from college. And Duli had an alarming philosophy right out of Marx. He said, you can't make socialists out of individuals. Children who know how to think for themselves, spoiled a harmony of the collective society, which is coming where everyone is interdependent. You know, David, I taught more than 50 college critical thinking courses. And I started every course with this question. Who had a course in critical thinking and not one student ever in any course ever said yes? And we see there the goal. And the goal is the destruction of our Constitution or the public, the destruction of the foundation, which is that biblical foundation that our founder says there is a creator God, that's the God of the Bible, our rights come from him and from him alone. And the only purpose of human civil government is to protect those God-given rights. We'll stay with

All right, coming back from the break here on Don't Invite the Cool Aid on your host Pastor David Whitney, Senior Instructor at Institute on the Constitution. The AmericanView.com,

all one word the AmericanView.com. With me is my collaborator, Dr. Brian Shelley, I understand that you are now working with a homeschooling group in a kind of a co-op situation because there are so many opportunities available for homeschoolers today that even 10 years ago we're not possible. Tell us a little bit about what you're doing in terms of education of the young. I guess as a hybrid program that we meet together with the students on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday teach them as in a school situation, then the teachers are responsible for sending the textbook home with instructions or what the students are supposed to do for that same amount of time at home on Friday and Monday and they get home with assignments, therefore that they work on and then bring those back in for a grade. So it's a mixture of the parents take over on Friday and Monday and the school itself works with the kids three days a week. It works out really well.

And so your experience right now in terms of interacting with these kids, what's your take on how they're doing in the level of education they're receiving? I have taught as a substitute teacher, K through 12 in my public school background that I have for a little while and I find that these students far excel anything that I saw in those schools. Amen. And you know that's the beauty of homeschooling now. Many people say I couldn't homeschool because I can't teach algebra. And opportunities like what you're participating in are there for people who are have expertise at math or science, history, and other subject matters that can come alongside the parents. The parents are still in control of the education. But what is happening is that the children have opportunity to get input from other adults whose expertise can help train them. And so it's not what many people conceive homeschooling the Bay. It's like every child

at home, his parents, the only adults he interacts and learns from them and others, all kinds of opportunities, some called the tutorials, some called them co-ops, and so on. And you know the beauty is that there's all kinds of varieties now available, including a huge amount of online resources. I know Ron Paul has developed the whole curriculum online curriculum for homeschooling and other curriculum sources are cost some and some are free. I mean there are opportunities that are just unparalleled in our day. We had one family in our church who were both full-time working full-time jobs and they arranged in order for their children to be able to be homeschooled and their schedule had to flex somewhat and they were in online classes and so on. But they raised their children and homeschooled their children in spite of the fact that both parents were fully employed. And so that's even an option that can be available. So what I've seen Brian is

that if parents really want to homeschool their children, there will be a way that they could do that. And today there's so many opportunities available that a few years ago were not available at all. Yeah and some of them like you said just have co-ops where they will get together. There's a bunch of homeschooling parents and say okay you have a little bit more expertise in this subject. One week at the kids together you teach them that, I'll teach them this. Like you said there's all kinds of different options out there that parents can take advantage of if they really wanted to do that. And one of the things that I see happening is that for homeschool kids that I've interacted with, one of the beauties for them is that they can customize an area of their interest and pursue that, you know, almost without measure. So for example many homeschools structure their day such that in the morning all the academic work is to be done. So by the time

lunch and so on maybe a little into the afternoon. But then they have a large section of time in the afternoon where they can pursue a hobby, they can pursue an interest, they can pursue a sport, all different sorts of things that really depend on their interest as a student. What is it that they're interested in? So you got a child who's interested in birds and I know some homeschoolers that were birders. They know it and they keep a list of all the different birds. They have a fascination with this and this is their hobby. Who knows it might turn into something that is actually part of their career in days ahead but they have an ability to go beyond the classroom. But I remember sitting many times in high school classrooms bored stiff because of her brother. Well here we go again over this and I had a hobby that I was interested in that fortunately our public school had available and that was a wood shop. And so I saw every opportunity if I get to get

out of study hall, go down to the wood shop at any free time. But I would have spent more time in wood shop than I was allowed to spend simply because you had to sit in class and the fact of the matter is the public school system has to slow down the more advanced students. They have to be, you know, you have to put the brakes on them because you got other students in the same classroom who are not keeping up with them. So extra time has to be spent on the students who are behind and you have to slow down the students who are ahead. Whereas if those students who are allowed to go at their own speed, they got to accomplish the work that's necessary in much shorter time and then go on to something that they're interested in doing rather than being bored out of their mind simply because they happen to be ahead and more academically astute than their fellow students. Yeah, and I don't know about you, David, but every day I have to say for X, how about you?

Which is a non-adultery calculus, algebra one, algebra two. I mean, I understand those state requirements, but I've never used it. Much of what we were taught was not practical knowledge that were needed. I needed to know how to balance a checkbook, how to do my taxes. None of those things were ever taught. And that points up the fact that a lot of the practical skills that they used to teach, I have a friend who's much younger than I am, he said they had a woodshop at his school, but they wouldn't let anyone use any of the tools. You go to woodshop and learn about, you know, making things, but you can't use any tools, all those tools are too dangerous like what? That's crazy. And I also heard that home economics was used to be taught on a regular basis, at least what I was in high school, was eliminated. We don't want women, young women to learn how to cook, to do things that would, you know, maintain a house because all that's so

sexist to, you know, assume that women should be doing that. Anyway, what my point is that there's great deal of freedom that's available in where parents are leading in the education of their own children rather than being force fed a curriculum from the top down. And as you pointed out, that curriculum from the top down is actually trying to train them to be little socialist or we could even express it more pointedly to become communists. And we look at the communists being elected in New York City. Had that communist get elected in New York City, it was the young students, yeah, students and so on that elected him. And the young students have been trained to believe that socialism is good. They've never been told the truth about socialism. Go look at Venezuela. See the results of it. Go look at Cuba. Look at China where no one has any free, no, they're not taught the reality. They're taught a bunch of lies that somehow communism is good when the evidence, if you really look at the history of that movement, is disastrous for human

beings. And it's the opposite of the freedoms that we enjoy. And so most people never hear the truth about communism and socialism because their schools are designed to hide the truth from them. And again, of course, they don't give the given the opportunity to explore on their own and find out, oh, yeah, China has a social credit score. And unless you obey every detail of what the communists want you to do and to believe you're not going to get a job that you like, you're not going to be able to buy a house, you're not going to be able to do anything because your social credit score is run by the government and they listen to everything you say, they evaluate everything you do, the people you associate with. And if you are not fully compliant with their communist masters, then you are going to be discriminated against clearly. So we need to end the kind of discrimination against homeschoolers in our country. And I appreciate Brian, you're bringing us these two bills, HR 6392 in the House of Representatives. And in the Senate bill 3747, we have

to contact our legislators that represent us down there in Washington, DC and say, we need to end the discrimination against homeschooling. It's doing an excellent job far better than the public schools. So contact your congressman and your senator congressman who be HR 6392, senator bill 7347. Yeah, and I want to expand on what you said about our communists masters. The whole point, another point of the education system in the public schools was to make sure that you became a great surf. And the goal was to create kids who would rebel against their parents because you would graduate from eighth grade, you were 13 and you would pretty much set out into the liberal. But these kids also made up in the in the communist mind to be trained to obey the bosses at work and the bosses in the government. So the school day was modeled after a factory.

Kids did class work. They did home work. They rang bells for the start and end of school. They rang bells for breaks and for lunch. And before we, like I said, kids graduate, we have to eighth grade. They married at 15 or 16. I was no such thing as teenage rebellion. But once they got to the point where, okay, you have to be 18 in order to work in a factory. And while they had already 13, 14 year olds roaming the city streets, causing havoc, so they stretched eight years of education and the 12 years of education. And then they'd done down the education and the teenage youth's teenage rebellion were born just as they wanted. But they have taught each of these kids how to not question authority. I don't know how often my kids would come home from school and say, but my teacher said as if it was God had spoken. And that's what is indoctrinated in them

that there was ever a little charge of them. It runs them as well. Excellent point. So don't question the government authority, which the teachers really stand in for the government. But question your parents. That's really what they're teaching and continue to teach to this day, right? That was exactly what they wanted and that's what they got. And I find it fast that you mentioned the school bell. I often wondered, you know, and it's usually obnoxious and very loud. If you were snoozing in the back of the room, it would jolt you or what. First like, why that? You just made a connection there. Yeah, there's the factory. And what's that Hillary from school to factory? You know, her goals, I forget where there's goals 2000. But I would just plan to say, we're going to choose a kindergarten. What this person is going to do. What cog they're going to be in the machine. And they have no choice. But actually, actually, this is communism. This is what they do in China. You know, take a test at age five or whatever they determine, we the masters of you, you're just

a surfer. We're going to put you as a cog in the machine over here to do what we want you to do. We had the privilege of hosting an international student from China during her her high school years. And her parents, I'm not sure exactly how they got away with doing this, decided to send their child out of China for her high school years because they knew what those high school years would mean in China. And they wanted their child to learn English to be acquainted with the American way of thinking and doing things which they would not get that in China. They'd just be forced as a cog into whatever machinery the communists have for for their children. She became a christian while she was here. The christian school with my daughters and so on. But you know, it gave me a little bit of insight into that whole system. Indeed, human beings are just pieces of equipment. This is the idea of human resources that you're just a cog in the wheel rather than you are made in

the image and likeness of God. So this goes from the grave all the way through the cradle of life when a person is born and before a person is born, what is that human being? Is it a creature made in God's image and is made for the glory of God or is it a creature of the state, a cog in the machinery of the state? And that's the communist worldview. And so the communists have no problem killing millions and millions of people. You know, communist China killed a hundred million of their own people, you know, Stalin killed 40 million. They people are disposable resources like cattle. And so if you got too many cattle, you just slaughter a bunch and make a hamburger out of them. And so that's the attitude of the communists. No respect for human beings, no respect for life, no respect for the individual. As you quoted, do we there? The individualism is what they want to drive out of the students. They want they don't want the student to think for themselves. They don't want the student to question the government, but they teach the student to question their parents

all the time because as you pointed out, the public system is designed to separate the child from his parents belief system. And unfortunately, David, this Marxist indoctrination in our public schools system is working. 43% of Americans now have a positive view of socialism. Gallup reported that this is the first time this figure has exceeded 39% since 2010. Democrats view of socialism has grown more positive over the past several years. 57% of Democrats now have a positive view of socialism. Now, that was back in 2018. Now that figures at 65%. Also, Democrats view capitalism as favorably dropping from 42% in 2025 to 35% this year. And one word dropped that.

Independence on embracing Marxist ideology in the last year of the year. Independence went from a 37% positive view of socialism to 45%. Now, a way to undo daily is to support and promote Christian education ministries. Encourage your pastor, your church to embrace their local Christian schools, their homeschools, their homeschools. Even encourage, I encourage you to financially help support families who choose these forms of K-12 education. Also, it would be a good idea to have the average cost of students that they spend in public schools have that money given to the homeschool parents for them to be able to homeschool their kids properly. And like you said, call your senators. Ask them to support Senate Bill 3747 and get it up for vote. Also, I would encourage you to play for the kids you know in public school. They are in a spiritual

battle of which they are totally unaware. Amen. Because that battle is very fierce. And they, I would never send my children into a mission field to try to minister to headhunters unless they are very well prepared. They are adults, never as a kindergartener. And so we shouldn't send our children into the pagan system that's seeking to shape their hearts and minds against the Bible, against their parents. And again, start constitutionally public. And indeed Brian, I believe this is what those who founded the public education system were all about, destroying America from within by undermining the foundation which is the word of God.
