About this episode

“Mix one on two point nine, bring on those dirty little secrets. If you got one, eight, three, three, seven, eight, seven, one, two, nine, confess. So, got to care what kind of secret it is. If you rather set it up with Candace Lopez, that's fine.”From the transcript
A secret that could change her life.... or cost her everything.
What would you do if your dream opportunity showed up… at the worst possible time?
That impossible question drives one of the most intense and morally complicated Dirty Little Secret conversations Billy The Kidd In The Morning has had in a long time. Billy the Kidd, Candice Lopez, and Producer Pooh kick off the episode with their usual energy before the mood shifts when a listener calls in carrying a secret she hasn’t told a single person especially not the one person who matters most.
A listener reveals that she was officially cast on a major reality dating show the kind everyone would recognize after being DM’d by a casting director on Instagram.

She explains that she’s been trying to build an influencing career, and the exposure alone could fast‑track everything she’s worked toward. But she also admits she genuinely loves her boyfriend — and knows without question that he would not be okay with this.
The conversation pulls back the curtain on reality TV, influencer culture, and the cost of ambition — especially when timing makes the decision unbearable. By the end, one thing is clear:
There’s no version of this choice without consequences.

Get it off your chest. We promise you'll feel better. Welcome to dirty little secret. Mix one on two point nine, bring on those dirty little secrets. If you got one, eight, three, three, seven, eight, seven, one, two, nine, confess. So, got to care what kind of secret it is. If you rather set it up with Candace Lopez, that's fine. You can Instagram her. Sure. All right, DM me. Whatever the case may be. Let's just get you on anytime. Even if we're not doing dirty little secret, call us with those confessions. Bring it on and you got one. Yeah, I need help. Like because my brain is just literally like spinning out right now. Oh, mine is too. So I get that. So what's what secret are you keeping from who? Well, I'm keeping a secret from my boyfriend. And it's not like a little secret. It's big like life changing big. I got picked to be on a reality dating show. Oh, what? Okay. Do you have a boyfriend? But you have a boy. This is interesting. Yeah, I see why it's a secret. Can you tell us what show? Well, I can't say which one it is because like it's top secret. And everyone would actually know it.

But like basically what happened was a casting director had DM me on Instagram a couple times. And I ignored it because I was in a relationship. But like then my boyfriend and I we broke up for a little bit. And I was feeling impulsive. So I reached back out. Oh, what? Okay, this does happen. I know plenty of people who have been DM by casting directors have a friend who works for one. Oh, really? Yeah. So this is how they because they want to look at your profile. Yeah, they creep on your profile. They see you and they're like, obviously, you're probably attractive. And you know, she's like, I like the vibe. So she reaches out. You blow it off. So you respond. And then what happens? You're and your boyfriend are broken up. Well, they had me like send in a video, answer a bunch of questions, let whole thing. And I didn't hear for them for a while. So I figured they had just moved on. But like in the meantime, my boyfriend and I, we got back together and they're like, I don't know where they emailed me. So they want me to be on the show like officially.

Oh, my God. What do you do? Yeah, what do you do now? I don't know. I'm sitting here like, what do I do? Because like he has no idea. None. Wow. And like, and I love him. Like I really do. And like we work through our stuff. Things have been really good. I also know well enough. No, he would not be okay with this. No, of course he's not going to be okay. Let's know if you're single. If you're single, like if my, if I had a girlfriend, if she calls me, I'm, she's like, hey, I've been picked to go on a dating show. Well, then you're single. Yeah. So you don't want to make me break it up. This kid like literally changed my life, like just the exposure alone. Like I, I've been trying to build my influencing career. So this could be like a fast pass towards everything I've been working towards. Oh, wow. Okay. So I'm not saying like I'd become a millionaire overnight, but like this might take me to a level I could never reach on my own. But like do I risk my relationship and like to completely change my future?

No. Oh, I mean, my answer is easy. No, I mean, not if you love this guy, you said you love him. If you love him to me, the answer is you don't do this, but that's things are good. Nothing. I mean, is anything more? I mean, if you add, I'm also not young. I mean, I don't want to say I'm not young, but I'm not. Right. You know, it's different if you're a young woman. You have a career that you're aspiring to do. To me, if you're great at what you do, you could be great at what you do and be in a relationship. But that's just my opinion. This would launch you possibly to a new level. Yeah. I mean, people come off of these dating shows and their career is influencing. Yeah. I know. Whether they win or lose the show. But it's a win. Given up, you're true love. If you really love this guy, now if you don't really love him, dump him. Yeah, go on the show. What are you? What if I tell them like, what if I tell them that it's just for the exposure, not to actually find someone and like promise that it doesn't mean anything? And what happens if you have one little spark with somebody? Yeah. If you get your mind, I'll mess up. Right. You're going to make out with someone. Yeah. They have. They're going to make it out of shows. Right. I mean, some guys might be okay with it.

I mean, yeah, what if he's like, yeah, we'll take a break. You go do it. If it works out great, it probably won't. Then he's looking up with someone else. Yeah. Well, then then she comes back and he's like, we can try again. No. I mean, can't say that. You're a little too into this. No, I'm just saying what have a friend who produces one of the big ones like for Netflix? Really? Yeah. What? I want love is blind. Oh, that's a pretty big one. No, it's massive. Massive. She does? She helps. She works on the show. Yeah. So she travels around to all the places where they film and goes to all the weddings and then goes for a job. Oh, I know. It's awesome, but she works hard. And then when they like go and have babies and stuff, like she's so friends with them, she's at like everything. But like I see what happens on the back end with some of these people. Oh, yeah. But I'm sure this has happened before where somebody goes into a dating show in a relationship just because they want the exposure. Yeah. I mean, but if you know your boyfriend, you know the kind of guy he is, then you probably could already know his answer. He's not going to be okay with this. No, and I'm just trying to justify it. And I'm telling you now, if you even bring it up as an option,

I think it's over because if you bring it up, like talking about like, hey, this is what I did, he's going to be mad. He's going to be irritated that you even. So immediately when we're out on a break, you just start firing off dating to applications. Oh, yeah, I guess I like, I guess I could feel it that way. He's not an influencer too, right? Or like aspiring influencer? No, not at all. Okay, so I was going to say, if he is, he might be down. Perfect couple. He'd be like, right. He would help him too. Like even if you think he's the one, if you know that it's not working out, and you guys were obviously in some kind of not toxic, but obviously up and down relationship, if you just got on a break, he could be the one that's still not going to work out. That's what I would say. If you don't think this is going to work out, go on the show. Right. Okay. If you think this is the true love of my life and this will work out, don't go on the show. Yeah. I'll keep you guys up today. Right? Please do. I'm going to let you know. Let us know and remember us when you're famous, okay? Yeah. Tag us. Hey, we'll see.
