Active noise cancellation tunes out distractions, while awareness mode lets you hear what's happening around you. They sound fantastic. They're comfortable, and they pair with your phone and computer at the same time. Battery life is up to 32 hours, and a quick 10-minute charge gives you 90 minutes of play time. And I also wanted to tell you thank you for everything you do. I've learned so much from listening to your show.

It really, really has done a lot for me. Thank you so much. The question I have is I am an iPhone user, and my husband has an Android. And I was wondering if you could tell me what your opinion is on Apple Pay and Google Pay. Do you think they're safe to use? Where are you asking? Well, I just hear a lot of people saying they use it. And then when I go shopping, I always see the role of paying. And it seems like it's becoming more and more common. And I just wasn't sure if it's safe to use. And should I be using that instead of my debit card? Well, yeah. Number one, you don't want to use your debit card. Because that's frightening at any time to me. So somebody can get that number and wipe you out. I use Apple Pay all the time. I love Apple Pay.

It's so much easier. It's so much more convenient than having to carry a wallet with a credit card, which to me kind of seems archaic at this point. I have my driver's license as part of my Apple wallet. I have my loyalty cards there. My United Airlines and Air France or wherever I'm going. frequent flyer number cards in there. William Sonoma key card. I mean, everything is inside my Apple wallet. And here's the reason why. Because instead of actually giving wherever you're paying, your actual number, whether it's a credit card number or a debit card number, is that it's a one time use number. It's only good for that particular transaction. And so what that means is that even if the establishment were to get hacked, they don't have your number. Because they have that only that one time use number that is thoroughly encrypted. Does that make sense? Yeah.

Yeah. Okay. And then plus you're using base ID or touch ID. Because you have it for each transaction. And that's why if you ever look at a receipt from Apple Pay, you don't see a credit card number on that. Because it's not really being transmit. It's like it's a virtual account number, which is. So that's the way that Apple works. And Google works the same way. So you have extra layers of protection. But it's not your number. You have to use some type of biometric or a pin number in order to even make that transaction. And so it's secure even when you're transmitting data over Wi-Fi or cellular too. So as far as is it safe, a thousand percent. Watch me watch everybody go get hacked right now just because I said that. Let me find some wood.

I'm not going to hear that. Stop. No hackers. No. I know it seems like it doesn't seem like though every single day. It's like somebody's getting hacked every day. It's like, yeah. Okay. But for right now, I really believe that it's good. It's a good product. It's certainly a lot easier, as I said. More convenient. And it's safer to use right now. Mayna, thank you so much for your call today. Kim came out to hear with your Saturday steals. And if you're traveling, here are some great tips. First, that flat screen monitor bolted to the wall is a free second monitor. A lot of people don't know this. Most hotel TVs have an open HDMI port on the side or in the back. So if you have an HDMI cable and an adapter if you're left-top need one, each one costs only around 13 bucks. You can plug in, hit input or source, and then your desktop shows on the big screen. That's pretty sweet. Second, test every lock, deadbolt, latch, slider, mine failed last weekend in Jackson Hole.

Now, a broken lock gets you a new room, but for backup, a portable door lock costs around $15, and wedges any hinge door shut from the inside. Now, if you want to go further, portable travel safe costs around $21. It's slash resistant with a steel cable that you loop around a closet rod. Links to all of these at WTOP.com. So you can check in, lock up, sleep tight, and that's what I call a sweet deal. Okay, smarty pants. I know that you need more tips like this because you want to stay ahead of the tech curve. But as they like to say on infomercials, but wait, there's more. This is really fun. You can watch the Kim Comando show over on my YouTube channel. Just go to youtube.com slash Kim Comando. That's youtube.com slash Kim Comando. And if you're more into podcasts, well, you can find me everywhere you get your podcasts. Just search for a commando with a K, of course. That's K-O-M-A-N-D-O. And if you have any questions for me or if you want to share a story that happened in your life, I'd love that. Just go to commando.com. I know there's so many commandos.

K-O-M-A-N-D-O, commando.com. And then there's a big button on the top right. It says ask Kim. I know. Funny how some things work in tech. Fill out that form. And I read every single note that you send me. Nicky Glazer, this stunning tour. The thoughts of death, I don't like to dwell on them for longer than like 10 or 15 hours a day.
