On March 5, DePaul's men's basketball team dropped a tough one to Villanova last night, falling 76-57 at Winchester Arena. Brandon McClend led the Blue Demons with 16 points, shooting 50% from the floor while grabbing five rebounds and dishing four assists. The first half stayed close, with the Paul holding Villanova under 30% shooting to grab an early lead. But the Wildcats closed strong to take a 26-24 edge at the break. More Blue Demons had double figures in scoring, including 11 points and five rebounds from N.J. Vinson, plus efforts from Layton Blocker and C.J. Gunn. McClend and Vinson stretched their streaks to seven straight games, with 10 or more points each. Villanova heated up in the second half, building a double-digit lead that DePaul couldn't fully erase despite some late defensive stands and a quick run of points. DePaul sits at 16 wins and 14 losses overall, 8 and 11 in the Big East. They host Butler, this Saturday, March 7th, at 11 AM, Central time with a pre-game ceremony

honoring seniors Kayla Banks, cages Vinson, C.J. Gunn, and Brandon McClend and Brian D Rahman.
