Dark Clouds Hover Over Republican November Senate Hopes

Hello everybody and thank you for tuning into the Liberty Report with us today. Daniel McAdams, our co-host. Daniel, good to see you today. Good morning, Dr. Paul. How are you this morning? I'm doing fine, doing fine. I think I'm doing better. Believe it or not, I'm here again. I think I'm doing better than the Republican party. I think you are too. It all depends on how you measure it.

1:00I wouldn't claim power and prestige and all that kind of stuff. But some of our goals, we don't feel so put out or nervous or ambiguous. We know where we stand and we are encouraged because we realize there are some other people that agree with the principles of liberty. That encourages me. But today the Republicans are not probably feeling real good because there's a... I know they wouldn't have... we're going to talk about how the Republicans are doing but we're going to cite politicals. Political. But that means that there's probably not a whole lot of mainstream Republicans that read the same article we read today. They probably had Fox on. The headline on Politico is Republicans were bullish about the Senate.

2:04Now they're playing defense in the red states. The red states. That doesn't mean Russia people. That means the Republican party. And six months ago maybe or even sooner, more than that. They could coast. Everything was going well. Trump could get away with anything he wanted. Nobody challenged anything. But things are catching up to the Republican party. I think to the President too. And we're not making that story up because there are some reputable polling companies that said that that's a true statement. That's a true statement. That his popularity has slipped a little bit. And I can't help but think that he seems to be able to overcome any problems and stay confident. But I can't believe that he can't have some reservations right now about how things are going.

3:04And that might be a good thing. It might be a bad thing because I'm not so sure the country's improved under today's conditions. Because I don't see any one faction whether the Democrats or the Republicans who have a great deal of influence about what's going on in the deep state area. Because they're not talking about deficits. They're not talking about cutting military spending. They're talking about massively increasing. Then they're wondering why don't they like us anymore. But it's not that it's the die-hars they'll stick by. But those numbers are shrinking because there's a number of Republicans now having second thoughts. And the events can finally catch up. And we can have a fancy debate and fancy arguments and fancy quotes but tell you what. I think the Housewives and the others who are shopped for their groceries.

4:10It's probably a more important source of information. That is what I think is awakened. It's been going on with what's going on in the Middle East and Iran. But it started a few years ago when it was starting to realize that Ukraine was no duck soup. Yeah, well they got away with Venezuela. But these other ones. How many can we name? Better be easy. Name a half a dozen places where problems are building. The whole thing is our answer to this is not complicated. Just stay out of that mess. You know, we've talked about that. But they only have to do one thing to make these decisions about getting involved. Is get involved in a military sense and participating in war without the consent of the people and Congress. If they would follow that rule, believe me, we would have a lot more money in the bank.

5:15We would have a lot more money in the pocket of the American people. And we would be much healthier. Of course, a lot wiser. But I'm not holding my breath. We'll keep plugging away. Let's put up that first clip. This is from Politico, which was of course recently banned from the White House for being quote-unquote fake news. What I think is probably an attack on the First Amendment. The Republicans, as you say, Dr. Paul Republicans were bullish about the Senate. Now they're playing defense in red states. This is a disaster of their own making, Dr. Paul. The Republicans or Republican appointees control the House, the Senate, the presidency. And you might even say the Supreme Court with some limitations. I mean, this is a fool house, a fool sweep. And what do we get? We get a president who promises he'll solve the Russia Ukraine war in 24 hours and does no such thing. As he tries to pretend to be the mediator between the two while providing one side with weapons and targeting information.

6:17We also have the tariff fiasco, which is ongoing fiasco, which ends up hurting the average American because tariffs are taxes. And then we have him starting a war with Iran, an unnecessary war with Iran, to fight against a nuclear weapon that Iran was not building. And that has taken us into uncharted territory with regard to fuel prices, with regard to inflation. And the anger is there. And then you have these little things that irritate people like importing a bunch of slobby from Argentina that nobody can eat, telling us that he's doing us a favor. So you have, I think, Dr. Paul an incredibly angry electorate out there watching an administration and a presidency and a party that absolutely has lost his way. Now that doesn't mean the Democrats are offering any alternative. They are it. But the anger I think is so strong that it will be easy to surmount the frustration with the Democrats. You know, when things like this happen when there's a shift of attitude, most people, especially ask why, why, why is this happening?

7:23And I think there's a item in human nature that allows this to come about as participates in it. And that is when governments get very, very powerful, and you just described how Senate, you know, and even the courts, you know, they had a tremendous amount of power. But power due to the nature of many human beings is self-destructed. They finally, they finally glory in it. And they don't think they think they're above everybody else. They say, we don't have to follow these rules. Like I was told, once, don't you worry about those minutia and the constitution. We don't follow that stuff anymore. So, so a self-destructive and when they do that and they look at the power, it's mainly decided that they have to have all their efforts to maintain their power because they have convinced themselves they are the saviors of the world.

8:29And that's why we should be the policeman of the world. Yeah, it'll cost us money, but we have that responsibility. They don't say, what would sound policy, what kind of policy should we have that might, you know, maintain good times for a long or period of time than we ever enjoy it? Yeah. Well, let's get into a little bit of this political article. That next clip Republicans are playing defense deep in their own territory. As voter anger over price hikes puts more in house, house and senate seats in play in the midterms. And remember, they were saying, remember, they're saying Dr. Paul that yeah, they could lose the house, but the Senate looks pretty safe. Well, not any longer. New rounds of big spending visits from Trump administration officials and private conversations among top GOP officials overseeing the battle for control of Congress. Review a party rushing to shore up red seats and states president Trump won handily in 2024. That last part is very important, Dr. Paul. These are states the president Trump prevailed in in the elections.

9:32They're now seeing such anger that Republicans are not being able to ride on those co-tales. If you go to that next one in the house, the fight has expanded far outside the few dozen seats considered most competitive. As Republicans start to unleash their massive war chest now they do have the money since August one more than 110 million in ad bookings have gone toward Republican health districts so red that Trump won by double digits. Now there's another revealing thing to our Dr. Paul Trump won these districts by double digits and now they're panicking and spending money. Wow, the last thing here in the Senate Republicans are racing to shore up Ohio GOP Senator John Hustead as the Midwest struggles over and I highlight this the weight of Trump's tariffs and high diesel prices. Trump and Vice President of the state before the midterms to to boost the state according to four people, etc, etc, etc. So, wow, these are places that Trump killed it in 24 and now they're panicking and spending money.

10:36I wonder if he sleeps well. I think of it as and if I be a problem for us, I don't think he goes to sleep very much. But I do give him credit, I don't know whether it's credit or observation, but he is unique because I think it was the other night. I think it's his confidence, his brilliance because he could talk for two hours. And I'd say, you know, that's pretty good if you're looking at it just from a physical thing. But if he's not saying what we want to say, then that's a concern to us. But that's, you know, there's been times when I've been at courage to keep going, keep going. I could do an hour, but tell you the truth, two hours is a long time. By that time, you know, I kid, but I am serious. I say, you know, I want the audience. I want to see the audience because somebody's sleeping. I want to know. But after an hour, I think plenty.

11:37So I've got a right to trouble later on saying you do a good job. You're trying your best, but, you know, two hours is too long. You're just giving us more ammunition. So why don't we change policy? I mean, the sad thing is it didn't have to be this way, you know, I mean, he could have just simply followed through with his promises. He could have been great on the economy, could have really helped the economy. Instead, I forget the other thing is the debt of past 40 trillion now. Everything has been a disaster because he just didn't do what he said he was going to do. Especially on war. He was going to stop wars and not start any new ones. Yeah, he probably has a record for both. He does. We talk about some all you sometimes. But here is I did a couple of clips on X just to try to explain why the problem is so deep and so problematic. Now that first one is Thomas Messi. Here's an example of why Republicans are reviled. Here's a calendar to show the days speaker Johnson has canceled in Congress.

12:37Those yellow days were days they're supposed to be voting. He canceled it September 17th was canceled to avoid a vote on my headset impeachment. The last two weeks in September were canceled to avoid a vote on releasing more Epstein files. He's closing Congress to stop me, which really is the case with Thomas Messi, even though they say he has no power. Obviously he does. But when you control the House and Senate and all of those yellow dates or dates you should be in their voting and forwarding the Republican proposals. You've got a big problem. But here's something even worse, Dr. Paul, Interactive polls. Just put up a you go of economist poll among likely voters. Trump job approval is at 35 disapproval that 63. But this is more important, the generic ballot. The Democrats are polling at 52% Republicans at 38% among likely voters. And here's a side note Democrats at plus 14. This is the biggest Democrat lead the poll has ever shown.

13:40It was D plus six in 2018. If I'm looking at those numbers, Dr. Paul, even if I had $100 million, I would be having a massive panic attack. You know, there was a lot of days off, but I think they still get paid for the day. But you know what, the president is leading. And a lot of people probably look at it in a favorable way for their own finances, because he's not bashful about how much stock sees by him. I don't even know who he buys for himself for a secret company or is he buying it for the government? But we have a lot of investment in things. So they need time off. So now, you know, every once in a while people get into trouble with a speaker, the earlier speaker, she got into trouble or a husband did. So maybe they need more time off to pick and choose.

14:42And it might be maybe the information is no longer what they're doing there is that valuable anymore. So it's a mess and they're not willing to really look at the full hardiness of bad policy. And you know, Trump was going to stop wars and not start new ones. And here it's actually obviously at your point that he sort of, you know, we talk about stick to your guns and take your oath of office seriously. And you're saying just take just live up to where you just promised you're doing. You got elected on it. And then we wouldn't be having this problem here. I want to do one more with Johnson. Here's Johnson trying. This is his best shot. Excuse me. I'm trying to get people excited about Republicans. Reminder every single Democrat voted against lower taxes. No tax on tips. No tax on overtime. Lower prescription drug prices. I thought that was socialism. Trump accounts, etc. etc. Tax advantage. So the problem here, Dr. Paul.

15:44Is that this all may be true. But what is the biggest tax on Americans right now? It's the war in Iran. That's what we're paying for at the pump. That's what we're paying for at the store because nothing's getting shipped anywhere. Fertilizer is not getting shipped. So even if all of this is true and it's despicable that they would vote against a lot of this. At the same time you're bringing us the worst tax of all. You know, they really must be really messed up because they're writing. They want to write a regulation or whatever we want to do that people in the United States can't export any diesel. Now, who knows whether it's good or bad. The market should decide that. But this whole idea that we have messed this up so badly. That they think the best solution I was. Well, the distribution of goods and services. Of course, but they've messed up with the principle of tariffs and sanctions. And then the inflation. It's not very easy to, you know, compensate by what this has happened in the policy. And the people want to do it tomorrow. So the politicians are sure they do something.

16:47But it has nothing. Nothing to do with here in the problem because we want them to think about policy. And when they think about policy, all they're doing is distorting the policy that we should have. Yeah, yeah. Well, let's move on to our second one. And it's related. I mean, we did it this way for a reason, which is that Republicans are in bad shape. Well, here's one reason. If you go to that next clip, this is David Campanantaiwar.com. Now, this is good news and bad news. I would say Dr. Paul Trump ordered the Pentagon to prepare to bomb Yemen. Then he reversed course. Now, by reversing course, it shows that the president still is slightly at least in touch with reality. He was made to realize where he came to realize that starting a new war with Yemen and the answer Allah movement, the Houthis, as they're called, is not a good idea right now. So he's obviously recognizing that there's a problem. But why does he recognize it? It's because what has been started in with Iran has been so devastating that risking an expansion to throughout the region is unthinkable.

17:53The New York Times reported on Sunday that President Trump ordered the Pentagon to prepare strikes against Yemen's on-site Al-Alaq, commonly known as Houthis, then reversed his plan, calling off the attack at least for now. Sources told the Times that Trump gave the order to prepare for military action in Yemen after a call with Saudi prince Muhammad bin Salman, who had been asking the US to launch air strikes in the face of on-site Al-Alaq's rapid gains on the ground. So bin Salman, again, I think I've looked as a second or third time Dr. Paul is calling up Trump and begging him, jump in this war on our side. Please, he'd already refused twice. Looks like he was about ready to go this time when someone told him, what do you expect? How do you expect this will change anything in the region? Will it make it better or worse? And he must have understood that it will make things worse. In a way, this might be connected, or you say it could be followed up on what we just talked about. But I can see the connection that the Republicans are having a problem.

18:54But when somebody is trying to sort it out and be in the middle and not take size and don't stir trouble up, I've always leaned for and I voted for Trump and all that. But they keep looking back and say, holy man, this doesn't sound like good policy. And then if all they have to do is take that connection for the thing that you said, why are we having a big problem? The wealth of the country's been drained, especially in the war in Iran. Not only just the dollars spent, but the policies that they have, you know, of the tariffs and interference just with personal choices now. Now there's going to be interference or how they will have interference with the first amendment. So keep a model. We don't want them involved in this. Well, the other thing I think that Trump is saying no to this strike, it's an implicit admission that in fact we don't control the straight-up hormones.

19:54Because if you skip ahead and go to that, if the US does bomb Yemen, I think you skip one and go to that next one. It would be met with escalation from Ansar al-Ala and could lead to the closure of the Bob Al-Mendev straight, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden, a step that would exacerbate the global fuel and economic crisis caused by the US war against Iran. Ansar al-Ala's blockade currently only applies to Saudi shipping and was imposed following the January 13th air strikes on the Sunnah International Airport, which reignited the war in Yemen. So the point here is here that they are not targeting the United States or any other nation right now in the straight of Bob Al-Mendev, but if the US jumps in that war, you better believe they're going to close it up to the US. So it's an admission that despite Trump's broad-gadocio about controlling hormones, it's really not a fact. What I see is decisions like this are technical, the conditions are such, then finally they wake up to a point and somebody's influencing some sort of, they back off.

20:57But it's not strategic, it's not dealing with the function, it's not dealing with the policy. It doesn't say, what are we doing over there? And if I think all the people who are disgusted with the type of government we have from both parties ought to always ask the question, why are we there? You know, and I ask a few of those questions at one time, I've got a little bit of a kickback from that, because I would say, why did they do that to us? What did we do? What is the motive? And if they don't ask those questions, they think about what the technical thing, well we'll do this, we'll put, you know, we'll drop more bombs or something like that. We'll bomb the wrong place. We just need, well we need a peace conference, let's have a peace conference, take a rest so we can catch up on our bomb building. Well, you know, neither of us, especially, you know, you, throughout your career have been big fans of the UN.

21:58And that's a case because you don't like world government. However, there can be an argument made for a forum where countries can get together and try to avoid war through compromise. And that's, you know, it's very best the UN approaches that, you know, a lot of other bad things. But Trump went to the UN today to give a speech, and I haven't had time to digest it all, but I did find one clip. Now, we should all remember this is a forum, at least in terms of how it's advertised where people will, countries will get together and figure out how to avoid senseless war. I mean, it was founded in the wake of World War II, et cetera, et cetera. Well, grab your earpiece, Dr. Paul, because this is 30 seconds of President Trump addressing a forum whose goal is to avoid war and promote peace. Let's hear this one. But I have a big decision to make. Will the deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? Maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world.

23:01Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again? Do I annihilate the whole country? He starts off with, where is he going with this? Because it's not like, well, this is an offer, a fig lever, a little bit moving in the right direction. But he's just making the point, well, don't waste your time doing this because that's a dangerous thing, because we have to consider. But he always considers blowing up people. And he said, from his viewpoint, he's had a lot of successes. Don't you think he feels very good about Venezuela, especially since there's a little bit of cash coming out of Venezuela now? It is not going to help the Venezuelan people. So it's a shame because the answers are there.

24:06They've been taught to us and they've been refined and we certainly had a good start with our constitution. And the knowledge is there. And yet we still drift off. And so it has to be the motives. And usually the motives aren't all that, you know, saintly. It mostly is for power and money. 25:09It's the same old stuff. But you know, on this go around, I sort of have something annoying away. Maybe like maybe this one could be a real big one because there's so many, so many places where this whole system could blow up literally as well as the economic system is in shambles. So it is dangerous. I don't think that people should prepare to say, well, we know when it is next week is all going to happen. But I'll tell you, this is precarious times. And I think a symbol, even though I don't think it's reality. But would you see somebody who brags about how authoritarian and leading toward communism can win the mayor of the ship of New York? Something's going on there. So people ought to wake up and the people who say, that's too much, we better get busy. So that's why we invite you to join us in our effort to promote the cause of peace and prosperity.
