You're listening to the Dana and parks podcast on KMBZ. Tom Cruise apparently has a movie I'll call digger. Yep. It bombed at the box office over the weekend. You can't even recognize him. Have you seen the trailer? He's like completely made up in prosthetics. And it's like a comedy slash action film or something. I don't know. It made $8 million over the weekend. One of Tom Cruise's worst ever debuts. That's probably what he made in one day of filming. It did cost $120 million to make. I don't think they're getting their money back. Mm-hmm. I was one of the biggest gambles of the year in the movie industry. It was sat there satire. Cruise is typically a big draw overseas, but even international sales only made $12 million. I have a run do not walk that I will leave you with. And Sam, you might look up the trailer because I'm pretty darn sure it's clean.

My mother reached out to me and said, drop what you're doing and watch this movie. I reached out of all people to Dan because I knew how much he would like it and you, Scott, are going to love it. If you liked the critically acclaimed film in glorious bastards with Brad Pitt and my God Christopher, one of the creepiest opening scenes in the history of cinema. Anyway, it's about World War II. There is a movie sort of in that same wheelhouse that is now on Netflix called the Ministry of Unginital Menli Warfare. The Ministry of Unginital Menli Warfare based on the true story book by the same name. And I don't want to give anything away other than to say if you liked in glorious bastards, you will like this. They group of rag tag. I don't even know what to call them. They're not soldiers. Are they American or they British? They are British and Winston Churchill quietly green lights their mission to go stop the

Nazis. And this is all true. This actually happened. Before we had the CIA or the MI6, he basically says to them. Unginital Menli Warfare. Very British of them. Meaning we're not going to follow the traditional rules. And if you get caught doing what we're asking you to do, we don't know who you are. We will deny it. We don't know who you are. You'll go to prison for the rest of your life. And you're saying this is a run. Do not walk. Run. Do not walk. Is it a movie or a series? It is a movie. And it is so good. I have purchased the book. Is it a lamb, Sam or a man? I would say it's a Sam. I don't think it lasted that long. Hour and something. Under two hours. Yes, definitely under two hours. That's the same. Definitely under two hours. And you'll recognize a lot of Henry, is it Kavill or Kavill that's in it? Alan Richens, you'll recognize some of the players who play the men tasked.

And as I'm watching it, let's say, I mean, there's no way this is a true story, but it watches like a true story. I'm like, there's no way this really happened. At the end of the film, they put the real photo of the real person next to the actor who portrayed them with a little blurb about each one of them. So are they in uniform? No. No, no, they are in civilian clothing. Because they have to blend in. Yes. They're pretending to be fishermen. That's all I'm going to tell you. They're pretending to be out on a boat fishing when really what they're doing is tried to defeat the Nazis. I will say the trailer looks very good. It is very visual though. So you just hear a lot of booms and gunshots. Because there's a lot of booms. The ministry of unjuntlemently warfare, it is on Netflix. Netflix. All right. I'll give that a day in court. I'm going to watch it twice. You're going to watch it two times. Johnny was not home and I said as soon as you get home, we're watching this movie. It's that good. Okay. Where was Jonathan? He had worked things to do over the weekend. And so I was like, what am I going to do?

What are the good movies I should be watching? 913-586-7798. Dana Wright, same Steve as the third. My name is Scott Parks. Hey, if you miss a segment, be sure to check out the Dana Parks podcast.
