Cowboys Draft Durable Players After Injury-Riddled Season

0:00It's April 22nd. This is NFL News Today, powered by AI, your gridiron update. I'm Cory with the story. The Dallas Cowboys learned the hard way last season that the best skill in football is just showing up. In 2025, injuries wrecked their roster, with key defensive backs like DeRon Bland, Travon Digs, Malik Hooker, and Chevin Revel each, missing at least five games. One-backer Demarvian overshown, played only seven, and just two defensive linemen hit more than eleven starts. On offense, star-receive recidi-lams set out three games, left tackle Tyler Guidon, missed seven, center-couper BB-6, and left guard Tyler Booker, three, quarterback-dack prescott, running back Javante Williams, and wide-out George Pickens stayed healthy and kept things moving, but the absences crushed, the team's momentum. Now heading into the 2026 draft, Dallas is laser-focused on durable players after signing safety. Jalen Thompson, who sued it up for, 15 or more games in six of his seven pro seasons.

1:04That reliability is gold for defense they can't afford more downtime. Scouts are eyeing linebackers like Sunny Styles, CJ Allen, and Anthony Hill, who stay on the field despite the brutal position. They're passing on flashier types like, defensive-in Akine Mesador, cornerback Dramad McCoy, and defensive backtrade in Stukes, who average way under, eleven games a year. Talon without toughness is useless, so the Cowboys are rebuilding with Ironman in mind. In mind rookies and vets alike need to be all in to turn this around.
