So, you know, this is crazy to have to, if there's ever a most-win game for LSU and for Texas A&M, probably this weekend when they face off. All right, I want to do a little good eye, bad eye with you here. I will throw it to you some observations and some thoughts about this football team. You tell me good eye you agree? Bad eye, old chuck, go back to the drawing bird board, sir. You got some stuff to learn, young bug. All right, here we go. I'm going to start with Kenny Clark, Brian. I am concerned with Kenny Clark right now. I do not think he is playing his best football. Christian Parker told us he's worked in the system before. He was one of the best nose tackles, which he's not really even playing nose tackle with the way that they do the gap and a half front. But Kenny Clark, to me, there's times where he's getting up field and he's firing

4:03off the ball, but he is just getting stuck on blocks and he is becoming to me a problem in the running game and also especially with these mobile quarterbacks. Good eye, bad eye, Kenny Clark's a problem right now. I think, yeah, I think good eye right now and I think there's times when you watch Kenny Clark and he looks very frustrated on tape. You know, you see him after a play, you know that he knows he shouldn't have gotten turned. He knows he should have been in better position. He knows he should have, you know, he had an opportunity to get some push there and he didn't do it. He knows that he gets double team. He's got to play that better. Yeah, I think if you talked to Kenny Clark right now, he would say that he is not playing at his peak level. You can see it on tape. All the things that I mentioned, he's getting single blocked, he's getting double teamed. When he's winning though, he's not winning in a way to finish, you know, they really, really do rely on these two defensive tackles to play very heavily in the run game.

5:04And I think the quarterback runs were really a big, big problem and that is not just a Kenny Clark and Quinn and Williams problem. That's a front seven problem with the discipline that we're talking about. But to your point, good eye on Kenny Clark. All right, good eye, bad eye. Excuse me. Malik I Lawrence needs to start over Ashon Gary. I want to go total youth movement here, Brian. I'm ready to make Jason Barrham. You're starting my linebacker, even when you have overshown come back. I think Lawrence and Ezra Racku are your two best pass rushers right now. Now Lawrence is going to give some stuff up when it comes to setting the edge. So I do think actually Rashon Gary's not getting enough credit for. He did a good job in that game. But you know what? You got some good young foundational pieces here with downs, with Barrham, with Lawrence, with Ezra Racku. Well, let's just go ahead and start that now. We're going to have some growing pains, but I'm ready to go ahead and take our lumps. Good eye, bad eye. You know what? I and I hate this because it's a

6:06fence writing answer. I think you've got a good eye and a bad eye. And I think to me, and maybe this is where I am, I think for you, you feel you have the good eye. For me, I feel like you have somewhat of a bad eye. I just would like to see. I think I think it's and maybe it's a personal thing. Maybe it's because I've seen Rashon Gary make plays and I kind of felt like that Rashon Gary was going to be a better finisher. He you're wrong about not no, no, you're not wrong about some of the things you've seen. I think this has cited me that it's like, okay, it's two weeks. But I'm getting to a point where I'm closer to what you're talking about because Giants game I went in there with the thought of, okay, Rashon Gary, this is your this is a good opportunity. And okay, we'll hear Rashon Gary. Here's against these commanders tackles that aren't as good. Okay, let's see it. And it it hasn't been. So that's where I think you have the good eye. The bad eye is me being kind of selfish and wanting it to work out for him. And

7:12and I'm willing to give him I'm willing to give him a couple more games. But I but I but if it doesn't improve, I don't disagree with your assessment of Lawrence to go ahead and just go ahead and play these guys now. You're in a situation where do you want to play lords that left in? That's the question you have to ask you that's the question you have to ask yourself. Do you put who do you think between Ezraku and Lawrence could be potentially the better pass rusher? Because if you play one on one side and one on the other, you're you're making one really kind of a run defender is what you're doing. And so that's that's where you got to kind of figure out that if you in fact take Gary off the field, does that mean that that Ezraku moves to left in and then Lawrence plays right in? That's that would be the only thing I think they'd have to to really work out. All right, good eye that I and they're not going to do this because they made it very

8:13clear Caleb down just their nickel corner and they're not doing them. But I'm having Caleb down's play safety. I'm having him spylamar Jackson this week on Sunday and I'm having Jalen Thompson take over that slot responsibility unless I elevate ready steward off the practice squad to do that. Yeah, and this is this is where you know this is where it I guess the rubber meets the road because in the first segment you and I were doing here we were talking about how do we get down's more involved and that's the way to do it. The whole spy thing it it's really predicated on how much man coverage do you want to play and I believe this coach played right at 30% man coverage in that game on Sunday. I think I have that right I think it was seven I think it was more like 22 it was like 78% zone but he played a lot more man coverage than he normally does. But to spy you're going to

9:15have to have you're going to have to be playing some man coverage is what you're going to have to do. So that's down's around the ball down's watching that quarterback boy he's so smart and this quarterback will punish you he will punish you and and if you play spy and you don't play it the right way he will punish you and I think I think this quarterback has seen everything he could see when it comes to how I think that not rushing him and this is Mike where Dallas kind of works out because they're not great right now they're not one of these teams they're not when they had Michael Parsons they were you know and dorks Armstrong though that was some great pass rush there right now it's kind of a it's just kind of a middling pass rush and so with that maybe that plays in because the saints at Vista print we know you've got that idea for your business like the one that nails the trade show

11:20quite frankly I think Caleb down is actually done a really good job with that slot responsibility you're right there's certainly room for improvement but the two games the arrow is pointing up like the way that he is he's just going to keep getting better and better and I was talking with Cody Alexander at coach a on Twitter and he says like year two is really where you see the big jump from Christian Parker so if Caleb down is already kind of you know he's he's he covers the fond digs better than Cooper Dejean did a week ago now absolutely he's defense might have been banged up but still that that's high praise right there that's a former all pro their question so I'm excited about the potential in that role for Caleb downs but I mean you and I both saw what he did at Ohio stayed that's what made him special was just right in the middle of the action and keeping that defense strong all right good eye bad I brine you know I'm the president of the Cooper BB fan club right and I need you to to maybe calm me down here because I might just be too critical of him because I have high expectations but I think Cooper BB is played just played his worst game as a Dallas Cowboy and he has to be better and maybe getting Tyler Smith back will

12:26ease that but I need Cooper BB to be better else this running game is not going to get fixed I think that's good I mean and I I'm more likely to give him a pass because of what's going on next to him at left guard you know I really do think this team misses they missed that stability they missed that power but BB BB has had some issues and but I'm also seen BB in some of the running game stuff you know like do a good job I've seen him in past protection against the giants when they sorted out a twist and everything was he was in perfect position there's there's times where you you do see him doing an absolutely where he needs to but you know 65 plays are there eight plays where you're like oh geez that wasn't very good you know I I think that's kind of where we're right now I'm with you and then the final thing here good eye bad eye I don't even see 13

13:28personnel with this football team until these tie-ins just prove they can sustain and they can block if you want to put Furg and Bremen span forward out there for 12 personnel fine but this needs to be an 11 and a 12 personnel football team because they're just not good enough at tied end to go 13 I would I that's a good eye and I listen I think there's some things you absolutely love about span forward I think there's you know he's the one guy that if you had two more like span forward I think your team would be better off at tied in when it comes to running the ball that they're just not getting much Furg and they're not getting anything from Luke Scoonmaker and they surely are not getting anything from Hunter Lipke and Hunter Lipke to me has become Hunter Lipke if if you had to power rank the guys that they need to kind of move on from and maybe I need to sit down and look at special teams just with it like I and just watch Hunter Lipke play and see if that's a difference maker but as a offensive player Hunter Lipke is not a
