Cillian Murphy Returns as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders Movie

0:00On March 6th, Cylian Murphy is back as Tommy Shelby in the new Peaky Blinders movie called The Immortal Man, 13 years after he first played the gangster in the BBC series. The film picks up the story four years after the show's final season ended, with Murphy calling the fans' dedication truly moving after the series, grew into a huge hit, mostly through word of mouth. Since the TV run wrapped, Murphy has picked up an Oscar, Abasta, and a Golden Globe for his role in Oppenheimer. Joining him are new faces like Barry Keelgan, as Shelby's son Duke, Rebecca Ferguson, and Tim Roth, with creators Steven Knight saying the cast is, top notch, because everyone wants in on the Peaky World. Fans have shown incredible loyalty through tattoos and events, feeling the team's confidence to keep going. Knight planned a two week theater run before it hits Netflix on March 20th, so supporters can watch together in person. The story finds Shelby in 1940, during World War II, isolated in his big house until his past, and family pull him back into gang life.

1:06Reviews are mixed, with some praising the confident drama and Murphy's strong turn, while others say it does not quite hit the old heights. Knight notes this, closes one chapter for Tommy, but opens the door to more TV stories about the next Shelby generation after the war.
