Chicago Bears OTA Takeaways: Caleb Williams & Offense Looks Ready, Austin Booker Takes Next Step

🐻🔥 The Chicago Bears are back on the field for OTAs — and the early buzz is giving Bears fans plenty to talk about.

On today’s episode of Chicago Bears Central, Haize breaks down the biggest takeaways from Bears OTAs, including Caleb Williams looking much more comfortable in Year 2 of Ben Johnson’s offense. After last year’s early struggles, Caleb is already showing better command, stronger chemistry, and the kind of deep-ball flashes that could take this Bears offense to another level.

One of the biggest highlights? Caleb connecting with Rome Odunze on a deep throw during 11-on-11 work, along with explosive plays to Zavion Thomas and D’Andre Swift. Zavion’s speed is already standing out, and his ability to stretch the field could give Chicago another dangerous weapon.

Haize also dives into the key position battles, including Braxton Jones opening with the first-team offense at left tackle, Dillon Thieneman getting second-team safety reps, and Austin Booker flashing as a pass-rusher with Montez Sweat not present.

Plus, the voicemail crew weighs in on the difference between hate and fair criticism, why dropped passes remain a valid concern, whether Dennis Allen deserves blame for defensive fundamentals, how realistic a veteran edge trade would be, and whether rookie corner Malik Muhammad could push Tyrique Stevenson for a starting role.
