Chargers Sign Cole Strange to $13M Deal

0:00From NFL coverage, this is your March 10th update. The Los Angeles Chargers just signed defensive guard Cole Strange to a two-year deal worth $13 million. This move reunites him with their new offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, who coached him previously with the Miami Dolphins. With no starting guards currently on the roster, Strange could step right in, though that price suggests he might end up his depth. Earlier this week, reports from NFL Insider Adam Schefter confirmed the deal as the team shifts to McDaniel's wide zone scheme. Strange brings familiarity to that system, which is a big plus during this transition. Last season in 2025, Strange played 808 snaps for the Dolphins. He allowed just two sacks in 21 pressures, both career lows for seasons with at least 500 snaps, plus only one penalty. However, his pro football focus grades paint a mixed picture with a 57-run blocking score and a 42 pass blocking mark. Both fell below average, putting him in the lower ranks among guards.
