Cemetery Robbery: Kansas City Police Seek Suspect

0:00Kansas City police are looking for a woman who robbed an elderly lady of her purse at a cemetery in Independence. It went down just after 1pm on February 17th when the victim was placing flowers on her husband's headstone. The suspect shelved her to the ground and grabbed the bag before running off. Minutes after the attack, the thief tried using the stolen debit card at the express stop on Winter Road, about 8501. That's according to police reports, and a show she didn't waste any time hitting up nearby spots. This hit hard, because the victim was just there honoring her late husband, making it extra heartless. Folks in the area are shaken, reminding everyone how vulnerable seniors can be, even in quiet places like cemeteries. No arrests yet, but cops have released details to track her down. They're urging anyone with info or video to come forward quick. Stay sharp out there, Kansas City. Keep eyes open for your neighbors, especially the elders carrying heavy hearts and heavier memories.
