Officer Alexandra Giampapa’s testimony gave jurors another look at the first police response inside the Flynn home — including an open garage door leading outside and body-camera footage showing officers clearing the property.

Giampapa, an officer with the Tipp City Police Department, testified that she and another officer cleared the garage during the response at the home where Ashley Flynn was found dead on February 16, 2026. While doing so, Giampapa said they discovered a door in the garage that was open to the outside.

She then continued checking and clearing other areas of the house. Giampapa also testified that she checked on the minor children who were inside the home as officers worked through the scene.

EMS personnel arrived during that response. Ashley’s mother, Jill, then took the children from the home.

Prosecutors played Giampapa’s body-camera footage for the jury, allowing jurors to see portions of the police response rather than relying only on testimony about what officers encountered.

That footage enters a case where the condition of the Flynn home is central to two competing accounts.

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including aggravated murder, in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege Caleb killed Ashley and staged the Tipp City home to resemble a home-invasion burglary. The defense maintains that Ashley was killed during an actual home invasion and that investigators later rushed to judgment against Caleb.

Giampapa’s testimony gives jurors another piece of the original scene as officers encountered it: the garage, the open exterior door, the children still inside the house, and the police response unfolding on body camera.

You know when people try on new food and suddenly it's like, wait. That's the reaction. A lot of people are having when they first try Cupid Mayo. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake. Because this mayo is different. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Cupid only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, and almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers, some fans even swear by dipping pizza crust in it. And once you notice it, you start seeing it everywhere. Chefs use it, restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it. Never try it. Grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're out of the store. Put it on just about anything. Then you'll understand. Cupid, the original Japanese mayonnaise.

Hi, it's Marcus Allen, pro football Hall of Famer, NFL MVP, and Super Bowl champion. I played football for a long time. One thing I've learned is nobody really knows what's going to happen next. Before the snap, you can study the defense, you can know the play, and you can see the opening. But eventually, you have to make a decision and go. For me, that was the fun of football. The moment between getting the ball and finding out where you've made the right read, I loved it. And it's why I understand what Underdog brings the sports fans. You're listening to continuing coverage in the trial of Caleb Flynn from the Hidden Killers podcast and true crime today. Now, back to the courtroom. Miss O'Neal, you may have far with this fitness. Thank you. Officer, Jampapa, can you please stay and spell your cool name for the record? Yes. Alexandra, AL, EX, A-N, D-R-A, Jampapa, G-I-A, M-P-A-P-A. Thank you. Where are you currently, employee? Tips A, Police Department.

What's your home there? I'm a patrol officer. How long you going to be in a patrol officer? Are you just a city police department? Just under two years. How many of that? What other law enforcement agencies do you have? I was a Chicago police officer for five years, just over five. What was your home there? I worked patrol for a couple of years and then I worked on the 11th District Tactical Unit at the time of my resignation. How long are you working on the tactical unit? Over two years, almost three. What was the tactical unit? We primarily focused on gang and narcotic enforcement, so that included individuals possessing firearms illegally, saturating narcotic hot spots and getting hot spots. Do you have experience working on scenes of post-science and violent crimes? Yes. How many of them are present? Over 100. Currently in the city police department, what are your current roles and duties?

Patrol, some military calls for service, neighborhood checks, building checks, traffic stops, traffic, things of that nature. What should you do for work? I work nights, so that's 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. What type of training and education have you received to be a police officer? I'm Ohio Certified Police Officer. I have various trainings built in service. In online, I'm a CIT officer. Those trainings range from firearms, tactics, report writing, domestic violence, things like that. Were you working at your capacity on February 16th, 2026? I was. What shift were you working that day? Night six p.m. to six a.m. And were you discussed for all night in the morning of the 16th? Yes. Thank you. What time has that been? Around 2.30 a.m. What was the nature at that home? It came in as a burglary of progress.

Did you sufficiently provide you with information? Yes. What was that? This fact said initially the reporting party stated that someone was in their house. Unknown if they were still there. The reporting party was in the bedroom with juveniles and that it was corrected to the juveniles right in the bedroom. Then it said garage doors open, female shop, and head. Did you ultimately respond to an address for the nature of this home? Yes. What was the address that you responded to? 9.30 to Cunningham Court tips at Ohio. Is that maybe Cami? Yes it is. And when you arrived at the residence was anyone else on scene? Officer Blinkis and I both arrived at the same time, started to risk Miller out there a few maybe 15 seconds, 30 seconds prior. Thank you for surviving for a day to go. Initially I drove down the wrong street when I got into the neighborhood. It's not a neighborhood that we get a lot of clothes for service for.

Quickly did a U-turn, drove down Cunningham Court. Officer Blinkis and I identified the house, the address, and we went inside. When you get inside the residence, what happens? What do you do? I walked inside the residence, I saw the defendant standing, squatting near the dining room table, almost at the same time Sergeant Rismiller King walking out of the back bedroom, related to us that the victim was actually deceased. When you say you'd solve the defendant, do you recognize them today in this room? Yes. Can you just write them in the court please? He's writing a blue suit, he's a white male, white shirt, dark tie. Your owner's a record reflect the defendant's tonight in the body. Not the record reflect that this witness has identified the defendant here in the courtroom. You say when you arrive you spoke with Sergeant Ristina Sackrat? Yes. What did you do about that? After Sergeant Rismiller stated that the victim was deceased,

I believe it was Officer Lincolise asked if the house had been cleared. Sergeant Rismiller stated that he had only cleared that bedroom. So Officer Lincolise began to go towards the garage to clear the garage, and I stayed with the defendant briefly, trying to get him to calm down and breathe before Officer Lincolise yelled out to me to come help him clear the garage. When you say clear the garage, what do you mean by that? Just ensure that I mean obviously, a bird away of progress, we were everything's unknown to us, we were unsure if there's anyone still in the house, anything like that, and the garage door being wide open was in the call comments, so that was a point of focus for us. You stated previously Officer Lincolise called for you to help him Sackrat? Correct. For me if I could see. Yep. And what did you do at that time then? I set to Sergeant Rismiller to stay with the defendant.

I walked out into the garage to help Officer Lincolise clear it. When you entered the garage, can you have a try that for us? Yes. When I entered the garage immediately through the door, there was a bunch of shoes in the ground right in front of me. There was a pickup truck which was the first vehicle, the second vehicle to my right was a van. So as I got into the garage, I turned to walk towards my right. I believe there was a mattress or something linked against a wall directly in front of the pickup truck, so it kind of walked a little bit to my side to get through that. And then I almost immediately noticed that the side man door was open with a refrigerator kind of, almost as if it had been crushed out of the way. Were the lights on or off in that garage? They were on when I went in there.

What else do you observe in that garage? So I noticed the door was open. I set the top so Lincolise, the side door was open. I couldn't see whether the door led outside or whether the door was like leading to a closet. I think I set that to Officer Lincolise as well. Using my flashlight, him as well, we were able to determine that the door led outside. We then turned, finished clearing that side of the garage. We turned. Officer Lincolise said to me the middle console of the truck, the glove compartment, was open. And I think I said really back to him and I walked over and I looked at it, the middle console, the truck was open. What's the head because we're not here? At that time, not much. So I just continued at that point, finishing clearing the garage and walking inside. When you or Officer Lincolise were in the garage, did you touch anything or did Officer Lincolise touch anything?

No, not to my knowledge. After you cleared the garage, I touched my stuff. We walked back inside. I almost immediately asked the defendant, are there any firearms in this house? What was the defense response? He immediately replied and said he has a shotgun and a 22-zip pellet gun. And then he said, I have a handgun and the glove compartment of my truck. After you spoke with the defendant, I didn't have firearms. What did you do? Officer Lincolise and I asked again, have the girls been checked on? And he stated, the defendant stated, not since we had gotten there. So also, I decided I both walked to the other side of the house. Where the two juvenile females were sleeping. Also, I went in the door. I used my flashlight, kind of went in the room a little bit. I pointed my flashlight at both the two juvenile females.

They both moved. I could see they were breathing. I related that to Officer Lincolise and then we proceeded finishing clearing that side of the house, which was just a playroom and a bedroom, both which were clear. It was the lights were off. I don't know if it was a fan or not, but there was some kind of like white noise sound. I believe it was a box fan in the corner that was on and that's about it. Was the door open or closed before we went to the room? Close. After you and Officer Lincolise checked the girl's bedroom, the toy room you stated? Yes. And the background side cracked? Yes, the back. What did you do after that? I walked back into the living room where the defendant was and I essentially stayed with him for the remainder of my time at the house. When you were there with the defendant, did he speak with anyone? Yes.

You made two phone calls. First phone call was changed his mom. The second phone call was to the big dose mother Jill. Were you present during those? I was. When you were present, you said you remained with the defendant mostly by the rest of the time, is that correct? Correct. Who else was present inside the house while you were there? Officer Lincolise was keeping a log at the front of the house at some point, which is standard protocol to make sure we record who was coming in and out of the house and the times that they're doing it. Sergeant Rizmiller came in a couple times during that beginning process and then Detective Morgan ended up coming in at some point, later on. Were they animals in the house? They were. Can you describe what those were? Yes, there were two dogs. They were like doodles, medium sized dogs. What were the dogs doing that? Why did you care? The dogs barked often.

I would say I might give a specific number, but the defendant and myself called for them multiple times because they were barking. Didn't want to wake the two girls up. Did anyone else arrive on scene? I've been in the law enforcement line with that. EMS. What about, did any family members arrive on scene? Yes. Who was that? The victim's mother Jill. Why hasn't Wynn Jill arrived? I was still inside the defendant. Sergeant Rizmiller, I walked to defend it out. I got him some shoes from the garage. I walked him out the door. Sergeant Rizmiller allowed Jill to walk up the yard and they met kind of at the middle of the front yard. Before you present during that interaction? Yes. Did you hear any conversations between the defendant and Jill? I heard very little. He was crying.

He became a little bit more worked up at that point. Sergeant Rizmiller called for a squad to come check on him because of that. Was he ultimately checked by a DMS? Were you present during that? I was. When you were present with him, where was he being by the jury from EMS? Inside of the ambulance. And you were inside the ambulance? I did. Were you the only one in there? Detective Morgan as well. How did you depend out here at the ambulance? You seemed to calm down a little bit. After he was seen in the ambulance, was he ultimately released? He was allowed to go back into the house, yes. The way it's about, sometimes. Myself and Detective Morgan. Were you present the remainder of that time? I was. Did you hear any conversations then from the defendant? Yes. What was it? He described to Detective Morgan what had transpired, which was very close to what he said to both

his mom and Jill on the phone. What did he say? The semi-head broken in. He was in his daughter's room. He had been sick. His daughters were sick too. He went in his daughter's room because he heard the dogs moving around because of their collars. So he thought maybe the dogs had woken up because his daughters were coughing or something. I kept my brazen backwards. And then while he was in the room, he fell asleep and he woke up at some point to someone breaking in and gunshot. A site from that conversation, was he having that conversation with you or with it someone else? Detective Morgan. A site from that conversation where there are any visitors who have any other conversations with the defendant about what had happened? No. Did you ever ask him any questions? No. I asked him the victim's name, date of birth, his daughters, names, and date of birth. I did stop that was earlier on just because of how emotional he behaved.

What did he identify as a victim? His wife Ashley Flynn. And who did he identify as his daughters? Eva and Alyssa. Did he see courageous? I think he stated one of them was 11 and at that point I didn't get the second daughter's date of birth or age. When the detective Morgan isn't the residence, what happens after that conversation he could just come out? At some point, Detective Morgan was transporting him, him or another detective back to the station for questioning. But when Jill arrived, it was determined that she could take the two daughters with. So at some point, they were allowed to go outside gather the daughters and bring them to her vehicle. Were you safe? I didn't. Were you talking about Jill? And I believe it was the defendant. Did you go into the bedroom? I did not. I did not. Did you witness the girls' amount of the measurements? I did, I was outside.

Probably there. Tired sleeping, confused. What did you observe the girls to deal? What happened to the girls? They were brought to Jill's vehicle. They both looked confused. I believe the defendant brought one of them and Jill brought the other to the vehicle. After the girls left, did you have footless care involvement? At that point, the defendant was taken over by the detectives. I stood outside and helped the Troy officer with keeping track of the drug. He was fine because it was foggy outside and difficult for him to be looking at his screen. But also ensuring he knew where the drug was.

Did you have any other walk-in on scene? Very good, don't. Your order, my name, I'm split this. Get in the way. Officer Jill Pop out of the hammy queue, a flash drive. That's previously your mark to see if it's in it too. Do you recognize that flash drive? I do. How do you recognize it? It's a flash drive with my body camera on it with my initials. Is this your entire body too? It is not. What is it? It is pieces of my body camera somewhere around 23-24 minutes of it. Is this a fair and accurate depiction of your body damage footage? Yes. All these images that you'll see in here are fair and accurate pictures of your body damage. Yes, they are. Can you see, watch this entire thing? Yes, sir. How long was your original body camera from that evening?

Just under two hours. Your order, if I permission to publish? You may. Officer Jill Pop is there sounding this right now? No. Officer Jill Pop is there sounding this right now? No.

Why is there no sound at this point? Um, our body camera's buffer made up of the exact amount of seconds, but when you turn them off, which one is it? The body camera turns on the microphone at the time that you push the button. I think it exists to uncoil it. No? Yes. I was putting it to the house. I was putting it to the house. I'm checking this one here. Not now. See? I think the bedroom under here is still asleep. Okay, have you checked on that? Yeah, I think the bedroom got 9-1-1. Yes. Okay, that's the right lock. No one else comes in here. Pills.

No, every door one. Okay. I'm sure. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Okay, I'm setting you on a sit down. No, it's okay. Take it. This is your gun. It's okay. Look at me. Take a breath. Look at me. I need you to breathe, okay? I need you to breathe, okay? It's cool that I can do a sound doctor. Right now. I need you to breathe, okay? Right now, I need you to breathe, okay? Do you have any family that you can hold? Okay, where's your phone now? I'm here. I'm here. Okay. Okay. Do you want to call family? Hold on. Cory, do you watch him? Yep. Why did they run? They got a baby. They got a baby. Why? Okay. Yeah. Why did they run away?

Oh, that door's open. Over there. Back. That back door's open. Is that lead outside? Because I can't see. Is that a plug? Okay. Is that a plug? No. And it's a plug. So many functions. So many functions. Okay. Here it is. Yeah. Should we have him? Okay, look at this. Watch out. What's up with that? It's a pain. Do you see any blood? Out of the heart? Can I? Okay. You're on the spot. Where's your door? Okay. Someone watching. Something used to be watching him.

And he's just on the floor. The first. You need all of them. You need all of them. I don't want to. Is there any firearms in this house? Any of them. Where's the shotgun? Okay. What's that? Is it okay? The shotgun in a 22 and like a pelican. Okay, where am I? I have a hand down in my truck. Okay. In the goop. There's a goop box. Okay. Okay. Oh no. Oh, is there one? Yeah, is there? I'll have to split this up. Oh yes. Not yet. I'm not. Oh, good fun. You know they're okay. Last minute. We'll go for it. Why are you down here? Okay.

Stay back there. Stay back there. So that's so down on the couch, okay? Okay. Don't make all so bad. I don't know. Wait. A little bit more. Yep. I don't know. Is there something here article about this? Not that you have nothing to talk about. Is this just a complaint onto a drone? Yeah. It's hard to be able to touch it no matter if that gets shot. Okay, boy, that's what we did. How did Cory go? What's that run?

Here. You were here. You were here. You got some paint? Yes. Girls are okay. Okay, you're good, Sadar. Do I call anybody? Hold on, honey. Do you want to let him... Sadar. He's a good dog. He's a good dog. He's a dog.

Is he mad? I can't get you to my mouth. You can't turn it off back. You will see here and off your mouth. You'll see here and off your plate. Cory, do you want to let him call any Sadar Blint? No. He's okay to call, clearly. But they cannot come inside the house. We're going to finish. I'm going to tell you your name. For eight and a bunch. Yes, both the girls were... They woke up when they walked in. Come on.

You're not going to want to ask him. I don't want to ask him questions during the call. That's a funny question. Sit down, honey. Stay seated. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down, honey. Sit down. Sit down, honey. I have to meet her information. I know this is really difficult. What's your name? Kayla. I'm sorry. You want to marry?

You want to marry? Yes. Oh my God. You can call family by the way. They just can't come in this house. They're not going to be able to come near the house or anything like that. I'm going to call it mom. My hands are going to be Minnesota. Before you do that, can you do me a favor? What's her first and last name? Ashley. What's her last name? Flynn. She keeps asking why you then? What's her date of birth? 24. 88. Your name's Kayla, right? Same last name? Yes. What's her date of birth? 513-86.

Okay. What are your daughters' names? Alyssa. Tell it. Why is this a same last name? Yes. And then your other daughter? Ava. Ava. Ava. She's a woman. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. That happened. What did you do?

I think it's a full fear. I'm not done. That's right. I'm afraid. I don't know what to do. I can't bring it back. I can't bring it back. I can't bring it back. I'm not done yet. Do you want to sit down on the- on the steps? You have a blade. Can you get it on the blade? Yep. Okay. Good work. Okay.

Yeah, yeah. Turn up the windows. We'll walk around in the back. We'll 가까ue us into the cabin. Yeah. Uh! Nah. Pent fit. I said walk around in the van. No. Do you not want us to? I don't think I'll let. I'll just have them go around and put up the tape. Yeah. That would have been hell. Yeah. Okay. I should have known who you were. I'm going to try to sneak a bit of dry on the door. You know what I'm going to look at for? I'm going to look at your van. I need to throw. I think that I ran into the door to the door to the scratching light open. It's in the nice room.

Where were you asleep, Buster? I have a few back huff. So, so do I. Your mom was telling me that you just had to say something wrong. What I do. You don't hear it? You don't? Yeah. It does. It does. It does. Shake your book or color. Yeah. It won't be a book. It was a second. Yeah. But that's what I'm going to have to have that cut up. Oh, I went to the room. They don't. They don't even know for them. Yeah. That's what I heard. Okay. From you hearing the gunshots. If you see the light, it's like an excellent mirror.

I think it's like a fire. I froze. It's scared. Hello. All right. All right. Do you know the address? All right. See you froze. What I've finally got. The door, the guy's open for lights. Yeah. All right.

It's time to see if we can ask for real states exhibit two into evidence. Any direction from the fence? I know you. The state will admit states exhibit two into evidence. Hi. You may approach. At this time, you're on your end and no further questions for us. So, do you have a question? Any cross-examination? That's wrong. Getcha. I'm going to smash it. At the annual surgery of Kukka, my name is Emily. I'm going to be asking you a couple questions here. You indicated you were previously with Chicago police in front of me. Is that correct? And tell me how long you were there? Just over five years. Okay. And what were the circumstances of you leaving Chicago police? I resigned. Okay. Was you were you transport here for work reasons or?

Family. Okay. In your time, have you indicated that you had investigated approximately over a hundred homicide cases? Is that correct? Not investigated. Okay. Correct. You were on scene over a hundred homicide. For all those in Chicago. Correct. Have you been on scene outside of this case here? Have you been on scene for any homicides through your time with tips to employees? Are there any other prior times with law enforcement where you were employed by another agency where you had been on scene or helped with investigating any other homicides? No, it's okay. You have a specific policy through tips to police for investigating a pregnant ever. Oh, not to my knowledge, not something very specific that I can remember. From your training and experience, what would be the normal course of business and operating with a scene for a pregnant ever?

Well, if I was this best one, I'd get there as quickly as I can, expect my emergency equipment like I did. Get on scene and you essentially just want to make the scene safe. Clear it for any potential dangers. It's an unknown circumstance. I've never been in that house before, so I'm going to take a lot of options while I'm doing that while I'm securing the scene. When you arrived on scene, you indicated that I was 15 to 16 seconds after a certain smell or a certain smell. I was not having a beard on scene. That's an estimate. I don't remember the exact, but it was seconds. It wasn't like two minutes, three minutes. He indicated to you that he had only been in the bedroom or ashes. He indicated just this area and pointed with his hands that he immediately went towards the victim when he walked into the house. So from what you were interpreting in that time, what areas did you believe were cleared?

The bathroom. And your next question to this was to investigate that mark. Clear the garage, is that correct? I initially stayed near the defendant. He was very worked up. So I was standing there when Officer Lincoln's request that I went out there, and that's when I did. How much time were you staying with the defendant before you were called into the garage? Less than a minute. And how long were you in the garage, approximately? Maybe a minute and a half? And while you were in the garage, was that detected link as to your room with? Of course. All the link is thanks you for the correction. Also link is on scene who you were with in the garage. Yes, okay. And you, we saw on your body camera there that you had indicated someone should be watching him.

Were you referring to Caleb at that time? I was referring to the defendant. And what did you mean by that? From my training and experience, a situation like this, there's so many unknowns, like I said. He's potentially the only witness to this crime. We want to preserve evidence. He was emotional. Emotional people can be unpredictable. And that would be the reason why I said that. You also had made another statement. It's a bit unclear who you were making it to through your body camera footage there that we just saw. You stated to you another, I believe it was another officer on scene. None of us have walked around with that. Yeah. Okay. Who were you speaking to? Sergeant Rosmoe. That was who I was speaking to. And he indicated to you that he hadn't walked around the back. I don't remember his exact words, but he indicated that the deputies had walked around the back, walk around the back, and also link is may have while putting up tape.

Okay. So you had a time pass from when you first arrived on scene to when that conversation was had about walking around that. I don't recall. And back around back does that mean in the backyard? Yes. Okay. Can you describe the backyard? I didn't go in the backyard. Okay. So you never went into the back. Anybody from the tips of the police department to your knowledge while you were on scene and messing with the backyard? I don't know. I was inside for the majority of the time. Well, you were inside after first arriving on scene to your knowledge did officer Lakers for Sergeant Rosmoe or investigate the surrounding area of the home. I'm not sure. I was inside. You also stated in your body camera footage that you didn't want to ask him questions. Were you room for in Caleb? The department yet. You didn't want to ask Caleb questions. Correct. Why not? He was very emotional. Didn't say him like the right timing for that. Can you tell me again, why I was told? He was emotional. He said I can't breathe when he was outside.

Sergeant Rosmoe is who called to go out. Not me. And I correct that your statements were that the chain of events provided by Caleb to his mother, Jill, and Detective Morgan were all consistent from what he heard. They were relatively consistent. Yes, that's someone I've broken in. He told his mom that Ashley was gone. He told Jill that Ashley was dead. So there's slight differences, but relatively similar. Are there any drawing differences from what you heard? Not necessarily. At any point when you were with Caleb, did he vomit while he was outside? He wasn't not outside. Where did he vomit? He appeared to vomit inside in the trash can. I can't recall if anything actually came up, but he was gagging and spits at least.

Okay. And did you check it? I didn't. Okay, the vomit. Was he, uh, see if I swam before? I swam after that. Um, after that. You indicated that you had kept an eye on a drone. Was that with an Detroit police officer? Yes. Who was that police officer? Officer Bradford. Okay. 418. And what role did you play in monitoring that drone? I just watched it in the sky. Okay. You watched the drone in the sky. Is there any other piece of equipment involved in that drone? Nope. Okay. And so what was your role there? Just to keep my eyes on it, it was foggy out, and it was difficult for him to look down at his remote and also keep track of the drone. And so what was the drone doing? Um, I'm not a drone operator, so I don't know exactly. I believe he was taking photos of the scene at that time. Did you invite him to anything that you saw on scene at the time that you wanted the drone to investigate? No, I did not. Okay. I have no other questions at the time.

And thank you, Officer Jim. Thank you, Mrs. Yes, sir. Uh, I'm ready to go. I'm going to have a seat. I'm going to have a seat. All right? All right. And once you notice it, you start seeing it everywhere. Chefs use it, restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it.
