Burglary Wave Hits San Fernando Valley, LAPD Hunts Suspects

0:00It's April 22nd. You're listening to California News today. AI-powered local news. I'm Corey with The Story. Berglis hit the San Fernando Valley hard overnight, striking homes in a business despite a big boost in LAPD patrols and a new burglary task force. In Studio City, a house at Ridgemore and Sunshine Terrace got ransacked through a force-backed door with owners coming home to Total Chaos. Other break-in happened in Toluca Lake on Biluxi, near Magnolia, though it didn't match the usual pattern around there. Meanwhile, four suspects targeted an AT&T building, Eventura and Kester, swiping copper wire before a quick police chase, near Balboa and Burbank. Cops nab the pick-up truck driver with evidence in hand, but the other three bolted on foot and remain at large. Residents are rattled, facing the stress of unknown losses and feeling the patrols along the Ventura corridor and south of the boulevard weren't enough to stop this wave. One more burglary popped up in Westwood, adding to the unease across the area.

1:03Investigators haven't released details on stolen items from the homes or identified the three fugitives from the AT&T job yet. The task force is digging to see if these are linked to organized crews or just random hits. LAPD is pushing forward with the hunt, so Valley folks keep those eyes open and doors locked tight while they connect the dots.
