Caleb Wilson coming in at number 97. We also have Matt, Mattis Pussellis, his teammate at 88, Norm Powell, former all star with the heat last season, new Bulls Reaging Acquisition coming in at 86. And Josh Gidey, the highest of the group at number 80. Josh Gidey, by the way, not ranked last season. So a big 20 point jump for Josh in these rankings compared to the start of the 2526 season. But let's start with Caleb gentlemen. Did you expect him to have, despite not

2:03having played any minute of real NBA basketball yet to crack this 100 list? Yeah, I think Goldnod just had that discussion and you heard some of the two, I should rookies even be put on these kind of lists. And I feel like if you come in with that kind of prestige and that kind of thing behind you, then I don't mind you being 90 to 100. That's fine, because you haven't proven anything yet. So it can't just be on what we think. You're going to look like in the NBA, you have to actually look like something the NBA for me to get that high, like AJ DeBance is on this list. But I don't have a problem with 97 because it feels like he's not going to like it. And he's going to take that personally. And that's what I want him to absolutely do. I hope he takes it clips it. I hope he makes an Instagram something out of it. It's just let's people know that he saw this and he don't like it. And he's going to do something about it. So I'm okay with it in 97 doesn't bother me at all. I think it's pretty accurate for that. But I feel all rookies should kind of be there. If we're going to start putting rookies in these lists,

3:06like they've been doing, they also kind of be in the bottom tier of 90 to 100. That's my big gaps, though, because you got to get all the way to 85 where Cam Booser is, and then you got Peter sent 83 and DeBanza at 78. Yeah. And I agree. I think it's just I mean, you just don't know, they're never played again. It's okay. And it's not how good are they going to be by the end of the year. It's just like, where do you think they slot in right now? But you're not working with any real information. It's just that's almost like just gut feeling. And it's so hard to evaluate these things. We've talked about it so much with various other players, but it goes beyond like what numbers are they putting up? Yeah. And it's just so hard for young players to impact the game in that kind of a way. So I think it's possible that he could be it's just really hard to know what that even looks like. But I agree with you guys. I think for Caleb, it's not necessarily going to be about like how good does he get right away? And what numbers does he put up? And does he have like he's going to have to get through that stuff? And I think it's a good just reframing of the conversation we had a couple of days ago, which I was I mean, I was talking about him up very

4:10highly. I think he's going to be really good. But I also think it's worth acknowledging that he's not going to come in and be like Billy said this last year about modest. Like he has not arrived yet. And I think that's very true for Caleb right now. It might turn out that he plays his first game and he scores 30 and he has arrived. But right now he just hasn't and the only thing that can prove that he has is if he goes out there and does it. But we just don't know what that's going to look like yet. So I think there needs to be some patience. Obviously there's legitimate reason for excitement. I think you two things can be true at the same time. But it's going to take some time for him. And I think there's going to be a lot of ups and downs. And he probably ends the season much higher than was at 97. But I do think you know there's probably going to be a stretch there where he falls out of the top 100. And there's going to be a stretch resurge. And then he falls back a little bit. It's just it's tough to get through the full rookie year. I think that's probably the case for a lot of the young players in this league. And even a lot of the young players at the bulls are in the top 100. It's like they're they have inconsistencies. Where they're going to be up and down. And so it takes time. I think the only thing you can ask for is for him to just over the long run kind of trend up. And I think that's

5:13what's going to happen. But I do think it's going to be like it's just hard for me to sit here and say yeah, he's already the 70th best player in league. He's already the 50th best player in the league because we just don't know what that looks like yet. No clue. And clearly they're going off vibes because it's not going off some really. No, we saw who the best one was in some league and it was Kayla Wilson and and came Booz. It definitely wasn't a bandstit like so he will be lower. So yeah, it is definitely going off of their gut feeling something. Well, and they clarified in the intro to this rankings ESPN.com that voting guidelines remain unchanged. They changed up how many ESPN NBA panelists contributed to these votes. But the voting guidelines say the same. The panel was asked to rank players based on predicted contributions quality and quantity for the 2627 regular season only. So younger players being on this list, including unproven rookies or modest crack in it now at 88. It's not necessarily about oh, it's because we think they are going to do this in their career longer term trajectory. This is simply about production

6:14this upcoming season. And that's why I think it's interesting to know modest fuzellis at 88. A few spots ahead of a couple of his former teammates Kobe White came in in 94. Iodis Sumu came in in 90. People are seeing modest fuzellis's name as one to watch coming into year three. Yeah, and you should, man, because it's modest fuzellis in general. I mean, he's very good at basketball. So to have him in 88, I think that was really honestly, I was excited for him more so than anybody else on this list. When I saw his name, because I kind of figured we're getting in normal, we're going to be on this list, also just the four to bulls top five in the 80s and 90s. There's rewarding. But, but just individually, you want him to be right, but individually though looking at it as you mentioned from modest, that's great. And I love that NBA or they feel that modest and zealous is due, you know, for that big old year that's supposed to come because yeah, that's how I think I'm looking at it. Like this is supposed to be the year for modest and zealous man. Like the things that we I talked about with Josh Gidey with things being built around Josh Gidey. So I'm expecting a lot from him.

8:20Well, the thing the rains have been taken off or going to be taken off of modest and zealous. So even the things that he wanted to do or it wasn't allowed to do or what he felt he wasn't allowed to do that won't be there. He'll be able to do those things. So if that's going to be the case, it's time to show improve. And the fact that ESPN is taking notice of some of these things. I like that. I like, but I do feel like it's reserved, which it should be, you know, they're not going crazy with it, you know, saying, oh man, we expect them, you know, him to just have those big numbers. That's my job. You know, saying for me, go overboard with these things. How I feel about him because that's how I feel. But it's good to see him on this. And I hope he sees it and takes offense to this stuff as well. Yeah, I don't want to go too deep on modest because I know we're going to spend a lot of time on him in the back end of the show, but I agree like a lot of his projection for him to it's hoping that the flashes that he's that he's shown so far, you can start to see a little bit more consistently. You can start to see him take steps forward in some of his weakness areas and his strength areas so that he can put more of an impact on the game.

9:24I think what's actually more interesting is probably giddy and pal, I mean, we talked about giddy yesterday on our show. And you know, the strengths and weaknesses of his game, the limitations that he has. But if you're talking about like regular season, which is what this is, I would probably have him pretty significantly higher. I mean, I think the questions that you have about giddy are when you reach the highest levels of playoff basketball and you have trouble scheming against him. If you're the bulls or scheming with him, if you're the bulls defensively and Norman Paul, like coming off of all star season, I think you can make an argument that he should be a little bit higher too. So actually, I think the bulls have some potential to be better than we're talking about them this year, but I also think it's not necessarily about that so much because what it is going to be about for me is the younger players, modest and Caleb in particular in developing them. And whenever you do that, you inherently have to take a little bit of a step back in terms of production right now because these guys are still learning the ropes. Yeah, true indeed. How fell four spots for his ranking last year coming into that season that ended up being an all star appearance for him and his first when he was 82 in the 2025 rankings.

10:28So falling a few spots to 86 is despite coming off that impressive all star year. But also, they also do fantasy projections for each of these players in the top 100. Okay. Howell 24 points a game. I'm pretty sure that would mean he is the bulls leading score of the season. Safe. They also noted his point per touch ranked fourth in the NBA last season among players with at least 1000 touches. Super efficient score. That's what has made him an all star.
