The Patanarendt Show podcast is powered by Farah and Farah. Tampa Accident Attorneys. For me, I don't know if they'll pull out the win, but if you're telling me that Jayne Daniels, the Kansas kid, the first quarterback in Kansas football history, since I believe 1987 to start an NFL game at quarterback, you're telling me I can get him plus four and a half points. Give me the ball or three and a half points. Give me the box to cover. All right.
Do you have it? The Kansas kid. Kansas. Kansas kid can't. So let's see how much he truly believes. And let's see if he'll be honest about it too. But let's see how much he truly believes in Jayland Daniels. You said to me the other day, you're going to make a bet, a parlay, if you will, on every Jayland, or you think we should anyways, you might not do it, because you're not really a gambler. But you think Aaron and I should probably do it. Take over everything when it comes to Jayland Daniels. Is that correct? I did. Overpassing you. I haven't looked at what any of them are. Maybe we should do that. Maybe we should see what the Jayland Daniels over unders are. Hardly in the hard rock. On the hard rock. Time touchdown score. He's plus three seventy five rushing yards, only thirty five and a half passing yards, only one sixty nine. Well, he's not running back, only thirty five and a half. That's one good run for him. Come on, buddy. I'm telling you, I've watched it first.
I mean, I can be interested. I'm interested. But that's a lot. I'm interested to see if they try anything different with Jayland than they would with Baker, i.e. Calling run plays specifically for him. I think it's an incredibly dangerous move. Knowing that Baker may field is going to be out for at least three weeks to send Jayland Daniels out there on a design run play, where you're one hit away from joining Baker may field on the sideline. And I was talking about Eastern stick. Like, this is not a good place to be risking your young quarterback and sending him out there on running plays. Yeah, it's I don't know that I would do it. Yeah, if he scrambles and does the Baker thing and gets yards, great. It's a, you know, it's all lot to ask him to get forty on one play. I think he's already six, right? That's what you need. Yeah, I think he can get the chunk yardage. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the over, but I who knows? I wouldn't bet on it. Like, who know? It's so hard to tell what these guys are going to do.
And to your point, even better point, what the game plan is going to be. Are they going to let them loose? Are they going to restrict him and limit the potential mistakes? You just don't know until you know. I wouldn't be surprised if they add stuff like called run plays for Jayland Daniels as we go along, especially as we get closer to Baker being back, right? Like when there's a little less risk involved and having your back up quarterback potentially go down as well. Like I've said, my entire career, I love dual threat quarterbacks. I love guys like Lamar Jackson, who I think is one of my favorite quarterbacks in football. I've always loved the way that he handles the game, even though sometimes recently I didn't love the way he handled the hardball thing last year. But over the years, like, wanted a new contract, didn't hold down. Like, he's done a lot of things we asked players to do and has played great football. But I'm always scared to death from my quarterback to be a weapon because you're one play away from his season being over.
Or unless you're built like Cam Newton, who was a truck running out of the backfield as a judge. Or a Josh Allen. Yeah, Josh Allen. But even him, like eventually, like, it's going to catch up to you with your physical player quarterback. It caught up to Cam. Heard his shoulder name was never the same guy. Here's Jayland Daniels from earlier in the week, Pat. One thing I learned in college was, you know, you can't be at the Marmiter. You have to be the thermostat. You have to be someone who comes in and is able to set the temperature of the room, not test the room and try to be able to blend in with it. So I try to, if, you know, if the teams, if the team is low, I have to be able to pick it up to be able to make sure they're even. I try to be even kill as possible. And I think that being able to go out there and have that even kill feel the team around. You feel that I don't really touch my thermostat. So I don't really know. I don't know. You don't touch your thermostat. Are you afraid of your thermostat? Like you are your oven? Yes. Oh my God. You are free. I just leave it at 73 and I'm good to go. That's pretty low. 73. Yeah. For somebody who's cold in here all the time, wearing hoodies and stuff and, you know,
a lot of people would say 73 is hot. I think 73 are home thermostat. Yeah, I think 73 is perfect. All right. Seems a lot of people have in the 60s. No, they don't. They do. No, they don't. I would have to venture. I'd say that nobody has their thermostat set to the 60s. I would have to say there's a good portion of people they, if they texted or call it right now, texted. They would be probably 69, 68, maybe seven. The low 70s is sadistic. Like what are you trying to do exactly? 60. Plus, they're going to be able to do that. You're trying to do exactly. Plus, your electric bills got to be through the roof. The average person probably keeps around 70 or 69. You know what? Grunk keeps it. There's no way. It's too cold. I might be wrong. You're even here and it's in the 70s. No, it's in the 60s. I don't know if I believe it. What do you mean? Go look at the thermostat. He's talking about. But it's different in here. You got to have it cold for the equipment. You know what I mean? I get cold. That's very, very, very. I may be wrong, but anytime I go to a friend's house, I'm always shocked. I'm like, they love it cold.
It's always in the 60s. I'm going to ask you, are you more thermostat or more thermostat? I'm going to ask Greg and Scott that Sunday on the inside of suit or whatever it is on the inside. I don't really know. I don't know what he said, but like as long as he's ready to be a leader, I don't care. Yeah. Now Sam noted to us and pointed out, I didn't realize this, but he noted to us that Jalen Hertz said this exact thing about thermometer and thermostat after they won the Superbowl in Philly a few years ago. Now Jalen said in his comments, if you listen, something I learned in college. So clearly his college coach took that mindset and imparted that on Jalen Daniels. Do you think Jalen knew when he said it that the exact same comment had come from Jalen Hertz just a couple years ago? Like even Sam who loves Jalen Daniels, would have liked the quote better if he had stolen
it from Jalen Hertz. And I'm like, wait, that's what I mean, I didn't even remember Jalen saying it. Like do you think, I'm sorry, it hurts saying it. Do you think Daniels knew when he said it that it was a Jalen Hertz quote? Yes. And I don't care. Like if that's what he took it, I don't care either. If it like stuck with him and he went, yeah, that makes sense. And it relates to him and what he's trying to do. And he can incorporate that as a leader. Yeah. Great. Like we all learn from someone else, whether you take the exact quote or you just use it as your mantra within, like we all take stuff from other people. Yeah. I just, I wonder if he did know. I feel like when he says I learned it in college, I feel like that something is coach imparted on him and then he turned around and regurgitated without knowing that it was because it does like if even Sam is like, oh, I would have loved it if it wasn't Jalen Hertz's quote. Like there's some, there's something to that where people are going to be like, oh, he's, he's fighting other people's lyrics, if you will. Yeah. He's stealing their lyrics or is it worse in stealing a joke is the question.
Um, yeah. Sam would probably say something. What do you ran to the bathroom? Yeah. He had to go. He did. He's probably wondering like, why isn't Sam chiming in right now? They were talking about him. I mean, he went to the bathroom. Uh, we're getting people chiming in on the text line and we were just talking about thermostats because, uh, and thermometers because that's what Jalen Daniels was talking about. Um, I keep my thermostat at 73. Pat thinks it's pretty low. Yeah. Oh, I get cold now. I think most people keep in the 60s. My dad texts me. He keeps it at 64 or at 74. But we have somebody, somebody texted and they keep, there's a 65 at night, 75 during the day. What? Your electric bill has got to be a million dollars. Uh, somebody's 68 all day every day. I think that's the, I think 68's like 68, 60 now. I think that's cold. I think the average person keeps it at 68 or 69. That's what I, if we had to pull a bunch of people, I think the majority would be in the 68, 69 range. We used to argue because I wanted it as low as like 72. And now I'm, I'm old and cold and I don't even want it that low.
Like where, high needs the hot one now and I'm the cold one is we've totally reversed. High enough for installing this couple. Whoa. Well, that's that's that's a sherry man. The average thermostat temperature, uh, you know, hey, I know everything. Does it though? Most health soles maintain indoor temperatures between, it's varying between four degrees. What do you think it is? 72 and 76, 68 and 72. No way. Yes, buddy. Yes, but I'm sold. I'm sold. Uh, the bucket years, they need to win on Sunday, but I just, I wish I believed that they could and I just haven't seen anything from this team in any capacity that makes me believe, hey, they can do this on Sunday. I think they should push the Packer's defensive line around, but I thought I'm sorry, offensive line around, but and defensive line actually because they're giving up a boat load of runs on the ground. Um, there's been things I've looked at that I said the buck should do this year so far
when it comes to their matchups and they just haven't. They haven't executed. They haven't really dominated any phase of the game and it's hard for me to imagine them doing it on Sunday without Baker Mayfield of that. The offensive line is full of veterans and the offensive line has been bad as far as my eyes are concerned and they have to, I don't care what numbers say or a PFF grade say, they've been bad. Those guys are really high. It starts with the guys up front in the trenches on offense and if they can play better, which they're veterans, these aren't rookies, these aren't no names, these are veterans that we've seen play well in this week. So if they can get their act together, get your bleep together online, have some pride, have some pride and they hear it. They know what's being said right now. They don't need to hear it. They know. Apparently from what I saw, I think I saw, I don't want to get it wrong. I think Rick Strappard out there, but somebody reputable put out that the TVs, they've changed the TV channels as well in the locker room. Oh, so they're not seeing all the coverage and stuff. You know things are going well when you change the TV, when you don't want to see what
people are saying about you. Very soft mentality as well, by the way. I don't want to put that on Rick if Rick didn't put that. So I shouldn't have probably said his name, but I'm not looking at his Twitter right now and I'm not seeing it specifically. I thought I saw the same tweet. Maybe it was maybe Pewter Report. I saw it somewhere though. I saw the same tweet you're talking about, but yeah, I mean, there's like health and wellness videos. So yeah, I mean, and if Rick didn't put it out there, I don't want to put that on him. Like I said, Rick does a really good job. So yes, but I thought I saw that somewhere. Wait, they changed local news channels or ESPN for health and wellness TV. Is that what you're telling me? That's the tweet I saw it. Oh, God. That's not good. It was like being at a doctor's office. Oh, can we, before we're throwing that out there, because that's my bad, I hate doing that. I get mad people when they do that. I look at it for a right now. Yeah, thank you, buddy, because I want to make sure that we are getting that right. If that did actually in fact change. Now, is it important? No, but I don't want to just be thrown it out there if it didn't happen. But the offensive lines going to have to be better here. And I do expect them to be better, Pat. Sam, do you wash your hands?
Of course I did. It's my boy. Yeah, because you were in there for a while. So you weren't just, this was not a number one situation. No, it was a minor emergency. I it wasn't, I had to get near guys is here and I was like, hey, pots are up if we get to break time, but I have to get out of here. I was going to go during the last break, but then I forgot we had pick them and I was like, oh, God, I can't. All right, we've seen things over the years about how popular soccer is becoming in this country. Is it possibly more popular than hockey? Sam Cohen will fill us in when we return in today's top headlines next. Let me tell you what's popular right now. International Diamond Center is very popular. By the way, it was our friends at Joe Bucks fan who had that tweet. So our friends at Joe Bucks fan who can hear right here on WDEE. Thank you, Sam.
