Oh, we're going to we're going to get to that because there's a lot of results to get to and a man who loves chaos more than them all, even though he hasn't been watching a ton, but we're going to catch him up is our good friend 39 at 35 Dipperstein. God, that 35 is getting away from you. It really, it really is. What am I going to do about 40? I mean, what do we going to say then? You're going to have to have the only option. I got to get on another list. Yeah, I was going to say the you got to squeeze into a 40 under 40 this year. I got a squeeze in. Yeah, we need you to get a 40 under 40 today or

Man, there's so much stuff to get to, including later in the show dips, European adventure in business class, not to mention I was back in the MRI tube this week. So there's a lot to talk about. Certainly. But SGG, you just talked about it. It has been in some ways a week of complete chaos. I put out a message on Instagram the other day. SGG that you commented on saying that I thought the Friday, Monday combo in Mexico city of Smackdown and Raw was one of the most eventful Smackdown Raw combinations we have seen in a really long time. I saw early on. So I'm going to be honest. Let me keep it a buck with everybody. All right. Speaking truth. Yeah, I'll like to do a speak my truth. Last Friday, I did not watch Smackdown live. And I saw a post from someone who will remain nameless, complaining about the title

3:11change. And I was like, oh my gosh, a title change. I did not expect to hear that on this Friday night. And so I went running to watch. And I have to tell you guys I had a really unique experience. Some of the people in our group chat who are like the very, very much the, I don't want to say bitter wrestling fans, but a hard to please crowd. Their reaction to it. And then some of the things I saw online versus my brother, who is the exact opposite. He watches every show in earnest. He's not watching with the judgment of a thousand episodes of Raw and Smackdown. He's watching it on a, I wonder if I'll see fun TV tonight. It's not even that though. You know what? You know why Nick's perspective is so fresh and needed in the online internet wrestling community overall is because Nick

4:12is not a smart and smarts hold on to the smart part of it and think that they know everything and think that they can are in a position to second guest decisions. And this would have been better because it would have played out like this. And they forget that they're still buying the tickets. They're still buying the merch. They're still getting the mostly invested. So there's still marks. And Nick is literally just a fan. He's not too high on his own supply intellectually about what he knows backstage. He gets to like you say he turns on a TV. He watches to have some fun and he judges it by was this fun and my excited about where this might go. Right. And there's not enough of that. And I'm going to say there's going to be a moment when he becomes that smart. And then and then it's you know there's going to be a change. He's going to dislike something. And then all of a sudden the whole attitude is going to change. Clear though. And we should maybe we'll talk to Nick today. He has things he dislikes and will be like oh I'm not into this or I'm not into that. But he just doesn't overdo it with the thinking about

5:18you know every single thing like you know for example you know back to Friday. Andrew in our in our Jewel World Order chat. He immediately shot down the priest truth heel turn. He was like oh my god whatever that was. And I sort of echoed that sentiment to Nick before I had seen it really. And he's like oh what was what was wrong with that. And I'm like I don't know I guess the logic is it was like you know just kind of random. He's like yeah but it's not random. They've been hinting towards it like that was yeah. And then I don't know what Andrew or whoever else was expecting priest to do yet not every storyline the heel turn is going to make you go crazy. Sometimes it's going to be a standard issue. We're standing in the ring together close line like that. We can't we can't all be barbershop window. Can't all be barbershop window guys. I'm sorry. I think they're trying to figure out what to do with Damien Priest. I think they needed a way out of the tag team.

6:22I think it could have been a little bit more imaginative the way that they got him out of it. Yes. But you know I don't just don't think it was enough of like a critical piece of the show to be really no throw it out. Yeah yeah or to be upset about it's it's both ways I hear you now listen do I think that there's a the funny the the potential humor between priest and truth that we've seen at times is such that and truth's character is like funny and warm enough that I think you can really land a turn on him really well. And I agree I think unimaginative is a fair way to put it. But back to the other point on an episode with that many things coming out of it only a really bitter smart is coming away complaining about the priest truth moment like we they put the title back on Samisane in Mexico City like this is there is utter chaos in that title picture and what what are

7:27we now going to see with Samisane to me the biggest question I have about it is how do you keep the Samisane justice for Sammy all his legitimate reason for bitterness how do you keep that going with the title on him to me guys that is the most interesting question can they keep it interesting now that Sammy is the guy at the top of the mountain and and what does that look like because I don't imagine it's him man I don't know is it him running around with Johnny Gargano and Candace Lorey could we start I don't know there was the only thing I thought there was to really take from the Randy promo was his emphasis on Cody being a good guy you know you know who the last real good guy that that Sammy's saying exactly so is there is there a way that we get Sammy and Cody together those to me are the interesting questions but I'm saying all of this is say overall dip you have all

8:27people this is what you love you turn on a random episode of Smackdown and you get a title change every once in a while why not something is something it's a title picture on Smackdown is just so much more enriched than the title picture on raw and so the idea that any of these people can realistically hold the title talking about thin Roman Cody and Randy and who you know whoever else is like that the different title changes between the four of them is making Smackdown interesting you mean so it's KO KO I would include it then I mean good turn around there all of their eyes you can see winning the title at any moment which is cool right that's that if that's what they're like looking to do and set up for then I mean I'm all about it if they're just if there's just the transition period going on with Sammy again to get Cody to something else then I'm not sure how much I do like it you know I'm saying I mean if the if the purpose is if the purpose of it is anything can happen awesome if the

9:32yes great if it's to get Cody to something else then I'm like you know I mean I've everything is to get something to something else but you know what I'm saying if it's purposely to just sort of make it if it's a transitional period on purpose with Sammy then I don't know I don't know what what's up where are you at S.G.G. I'm I'm sort of in the middle with dip like if if it's this anything can happen kind of thing that they're trying to set up I am all for it um but but where I would caution dip and worrying about where they're going is that by the time they get there we will be so far removed from this that we you know it's it doesn't make sense in the moment to try to figure out where they're going and we're just gonna eventually end up because yeah they've been hot potato in the title a little bit on Smackdown but these title changes on TV they've all been interesting the matches have delivered the stories that we got out of those matches have delivered and I don't want to speak for dip on this but I personally have been enjoying it so if it is just another transitional period or whatever the case maybe that might not be for me to

10:33care about right now because evaluating it in the moment they've been delivering some heaters in that title picture just even K.O coming back going right at punk those promos those matches Sammy for weeks cracking everybody with the title belt like it was still his title you know what I used it as a weapon and then getting it back it was a fun summer Smackdown man I can't even I don't need it's a good way of putting it it was it was a fun summer and dip I don't think your point is off either on the the raw side of things in that and obviously we want to spend some time on on Roman Penta and I think as much time we we it deserves as much time to talk about what we saw between dragonly and Chad Gable because now that thing was dip I know you haven't gotten time to watch the full show you're gonna love Chad Gable and Dragonly that is professional wrestling my friend that is

11:34professional wrestling yeah I mean I've been waiting for Gable to get the get this this moment for a very I've been a Gable guy for but you're a dragon league I too big dragon league guy big so it's what I would say one of the biggest dragon league guys in the business today I would agree with that assessment but like yeah I actually have to vouch for that now not physically biggest dragon league guy business but in terms of passion I think that's true he's one of the great leagues yeah one of the great leagues Stanley Spike Lee yep yeah AJ Lee we don't talk about Bruce Lee what about Bruce Lee folks the number one league of all time we don't talk about the leagues when it comes to wrestling families but David Lee I can't think I'm trying to come up with other league with us dip what is Spike Lee's cousin the other director is a Malcolm Lee Malcolm Lee Malcolm Lee Malcolm Lee Malcolm Lee yeah yeah um great now I can Lee yeah now try but but Roman Penta you can hold two things at the same time

12:43Roman Penta was friggin amazing and also also that's a that's a chance that's a go back to it but also one of the great dragons yeah that's a great point also no fat he's funny he's up there with puff the magic dragon yeah puff the magic dragon there are several dragons though I know you're not a game of thrones person I know that dragon I'm aware of that dragon this is dragon you know dracaris anytime you say dracaris it's a different level dragon conversation but he's a major dragon um by the way shout out to all the game of thrones nerds who watched the Emmys did you watch the Emmys sg I did what what are you going with this when they had the two Targaryens up there together who are five generations apart that was a mage if you're if you're a fan of the the game of thrones world that was a very fun having her speak in Targaryen was that that was some of the best stuff that happened

13:44she's like it's gonna take it's gonna take too long you just might as well but the Roman the Roman Penta match the two things you can hold at the same time are and obviously you want to hear from you eight seven seven three four four eight nine three I think dip is right about the title picture on raw not necessarily being as easy to understand or like necessarily as exciting and also Roman Penta was a thing of magic like both of those things can be true like that was magic and also it's like what you thought would happen ended up happening and then Ellie Knight kind of shows up and they didn't show it at on TV at the time and Ellie Knight just shows up at the end is like what about me bro like we we we're gonna get back to what the the main title picture is yeah we're done with your little hiatus with Penta back to LA Knight and if you're not a huge fan of the LA Knight Roman story then I understand why you wouldn't be thrilled with the title picture is and yeah I just got to push back on that a little bit because dip is right fundamentally but also what what's missing

14:46from the analysis is the title picture on SmackDown is a bunch of made guys fighting for that one spot on the mountaintop we just named the names right Guilther who's been a champion of some sort the entire time he's been in WWE I think it's like 80% of the time he's held the title title belt you got Finn Balor who hasn't been been as successful as a champion but has always been credible CM Punk Cody Rhodes Randy Orin Kevin Owens semi-zane right like these are a bunch of made guys all fighting for that top prize and then on the other side on roll you have Roman and I hate to say it like this because it almost always sounds condescending when you say it like this but this Roman kind of making guys right with the exception of Seth Rollins there was your LA Knight your Jacob far too your pen to after who after a tournament got Roman reign so I think what they're trying to accomplish is very different and with Roman it's like if he had the roster that they had on SmackDown

15:47a bunch of made guys it obviously would feel different but he's on RAW sort of like even him trying to prove himself because he's defending without any interference and without his family getting involved at all so he's trying to make himself reinvent himself and make a bunch of other guys in the process they're doing two different things on the shows is all I'm trying to say I listen I agree with you I just it's more it's the SmackDown is chaos but I can follow it better as I've always pointed out the sort of Jacob Solo Royce Keys LA Knight it's just a little more it's a little bit more of a reach as a story at this moment of like what we haven't seen what is going to happen to tie it all together yet and I think it's a little looser but I do enjoy that there's chaos but again as you do there are just some people who aren't buying LA Knight as the number one contender so yeah we're gonna have to like to one of those people in a little bit

16:50when this starts to say where are you out with LA Knight at this moment where where does it stand with you and LA Knight I just like to see it be a little bit like he's not beating Roman Reigns so what are we doing here like it's like that that's how I'm starting to feel like did you believe there could be more of a chance in Penta beating him than then then LA Knight no I don't think either of them have a chance to be Roman Reigns I did see people comment as you tell me I feel I did see people comment that there were moments during the match on Monday where they thought where they thought Penta could win and I was like I thought the match was amazing I never thought Penta was gonna win wherever you out with that I should you know there were moments where I thought Penta Penta could pull it out to just yeah because of how they sent and this is a testament to Roman right when going into the match and in the promos he feels like he's unbeatable and then when the bell rings in between those bells he does actually feel very beatable like he takes

17:52everybody's the best no he's the best he kicks out sorry he's every last minute like he feels he feels beatable once that bell has run he is the Romans Roman it was funny people were you know there was a lot of Roman Hogan jokes on Twitter and they were pretty funny of like it was Roman wearing Hogan gear and saying you know it's and then showing him pinning Penta saying it's not gonna work for me brother and I I know people may have meant this in obviously jokingly some may have meant it as an insults I I see it as a compliment because Hogan's best attribute was to be in a match with people that you knew were not beating Hogan but when he would start holding that back and he's sweating you're like hold on a second this guy is getting the shit kicked out of him I don't know by the way by the way comparing Roman range the whole Kogan as a wrestler

18:56in his wrestling world is an is the ultimate compliment okay I agree sorry yeah well by the way they're both guys they're both guys who were on top for just an absolute insane amount of time that you were that people stayed interested in for a long time now will Roman Roman is now getting to the period where I know their career trajectories completely different so I'm just talking about the on top period like timeline wise SGG were at what six years now of Roman truly being in god mode I mean it's the baitable it's the baitable some people I would put it before that you were on the you were it was just you no no I would put it before that you know but but he wasn't god mode as he is undeniable 2020 like to now 20 is the god mode undeniable that's when everybody else caught up I would say that I think one of the words when he became on top truly so yes so six years

19:56that that would in in Hogan time we would be in 90 still he still he's still the guy still the guy and nine Hogan's coming down in 90 I mean you don't we had this debate this is the beginning right yeah whole it's starting to come down in 90 it's it this is a great comparison let's say let's see I I'm feeling very good about where Roman's going to be over the next couple of years another piece of interesting Nick Ernest wrestling fan let's call him Nick the Ernest wrestling fan Rosenberg another thought he had was he was like man I gotta tell you my brother's not the biggest Roman guy again he wasn't around to see Roman's transition which I think sort of hurts the ability to enjoy Roman in all of his glory if you didn't see the pandemic era was like so important but anyways he was like wow I loved Roman being the heel in that match like when the whole crowd was booing him

20:59as opposed to it being sort of split he enjoyed Roman on a whole different level in that role which I thought was another interesting thing like this crowd was 100% in favor of Penta yeah and by the way folks I know in wrestling everybody's kind of a tweener it's pretty good when the crowd feels one way about you it it makes for we we generally like the whole good guy bad guy thing it's working pretty well in this wrestling business yeah it's nice when the crowd gets on board with the story right because how awkward would that have been if if it was just like now we don't really get to see the tribal chief and we ride it with him yeah yeah I see the lucha door before we'd ever see the tribal chief in a long time but Roman's out of the wood Roman can play it any way you want and he knew from the second his entrance was what it was he's like okay perfect here I got this and he's and dip he's so good at being in that role like he just knows how to play that role I think it was first of all

22:02I think Roman looks in the best physical condition he's ever looked in this one and in ring his work is the best it may have ever been it's so good yes I will I would say that it was one of Roman's best matches ever for sure I would say Penta for a large lucha door moves incredibly well doing lucha moves okay he also is a guy his timing I think we mentioned it a little earlier Penta's timing in ring is to me unmatched okay he you you're never gonna if it appears that you will never see a bot from Penta he is and he's unbunchable okay I mean I mean when he was working the other place I was I was like I thought even when he was tagging with his brother this is one of the best wrestlers I've ever seen in my life I also feel that way about Ray Phoenix to be honest with you so I'm waiting for that tag I mean I eventually like I would say Penta is gaining in momentum right now as a feature as a as a like a as a single star whenever that

23:02starts to dip and they put him in the tag with Ray Phoenix it's they're gonna be the greatest tag team in the potentially one of the greatest tag teams in WWE I'm glad you said that I'm glad you said that because that that was my take my I was my thing when people would say you have the lucha brothers put them together the tag team division needs them like no no no that needs to be the incase of emergency break glass because either one or both of these guys is coming down and that we're not there yet you got the rocket on both of them you keep it there because when they break that glass and they pull that move they're gonna be right back here again would you say the rockets on Ray Phoenix I mean by the way by that I was that tournament I know if they do put some sort of rocket ship even if it's a mini rocket a tiny rocket yeah maybe a little rocket on Ray Phoenix build him up to the point where he's in pentamode and then eventually put them together I mean we're talking like Usos type run potentially yeah for them I don't know that's how I feel

24:05the moment is that I thought one of the coolest moments in this match was when Roman pounded that did the right before the ula and pounded and his arm hurt I've never seen a thing that before yes now he's great that was it that was a great moment that's that's that's the ring I queue and just knowing like everything matters everything everything has to matter and it may pental look so great yeah it was a great match though it was a great match I didn't I never thought he would win if he did win I thought it would have been awesome but it's so fun it's like you can look at the WWE calendar and if like you know it's like you know who the crowd favorite is who like it's like I don't know like you feel like it's maybe a little bit formulaic it's like like if they're if they're if they're gonna have this huge weekend in Mexico that pentas getting the title shut that weekend or you know if they're you know in like you know I'm saying it's like it feels like it's like yeah you know like they're they lead up to the to the city there's a lot of lead up to cities going up this is true this is true but what made me feel like Penta could win though and circling

25:10back to that is because they they tried so much they they they put the title on Stephanie in her hometown at a house show a lot of that El Grande we knew who's gonna get the title but that was a title switch then Sammy got the title switch and I was I immediately thought back to WrestleMania 35 and the prevalent thought for me during that time was all right there's they're not gonna stack this many feel good moments right there's no way that Seth and Kofi are gonna win the title and if they do there's no way that Becky is gonna walk out of there with two new titles and then at the end of the WrestleMania 35 as long as it was Seth was the new champ Kofi was the new champ and then Becky became Becky two belts and I'm looking at Monday and I'm like they they did it before they might not have an issue doing it again and switching up four titles and getting people four title changes that they want to see back to back to back to back to back I'm gonna rush it I don't know what they just will Ricky Saints beat Roman Reigns at money in the bank in New Orleans

What they're doing with LA night with you know, you know, Penta, Oba. These all are. Chad Gable. Great example. Maybe the best example. All of a sudden it feels like everyone matters, which is I think what obviously what they try to achieve, but the formula whatever they're doing is working. I would say as far as star making right now. I love that I you know, at first I was I was you know cautious with the in my mind about the Royce Keys and the that whole that group. Now I'm like, they seem like bad asses who could legitimately beat the crap out of anybody. And I love the viny I love the vinyet from raw more vinyettes. We love we love. We love and yes, we love we love getting people out of the ring and showing different things.

29:27That's a that's a thing we love. All right. Let me let me play devil's advocate for a moment before we get to your calls. Do we feel the same way star making wise about the women? I think they've done a good job with Stephanie that she's back. Um, I'm the title the title change on a how show is both interesting and it's a me that's a mixed bag that's good and bad. The title change off TV. Yeah, obviously I'm not hating on it at all. Like it's cool. It's cool, but I also like literally felt confused. I was watching AAA and graves is like the former live the former champion. I was like, what is he talking about? Did did graves just stroke out during trouble? And yeah, there was a title change. I don't know what I don't know. I thought I wouldn't say the exact same. But yes, you know, the sum degree. I thought the qualifying match SGG between the women the other night was was pretty cool. And I the future for for Kailani

30:30to me just feels there's so much upside there. Yeah, her and Lola both, but I'm with dip to some degree. You could say that about the women, but you you'd be right to say that it's not. It's sort of the antithesis of NXT right way on NXT. The women run the show. Everybody's future is bright. You could see it and then on the roll. It's just like this little and smack that's like, you know, it's up and down. There's a great bench. There's a great bench. Let's just say that. Yeah, the people to get off the bench. Yes, yeah, I think they need to figure out how to get them off the bench, but the bench is a bench for sleeping. You don't want to sleep on the bench. You sit on it and then you get up. Yeah, it's one of the great, I'd say one of the great benches. Yeah, we talked about it last week, right? Roxanne Perez feels like she's on the bench and she's not, you know, she's so intense. She's a franchise player. franchise player. Dip, we went over. She's the prodigy. We went over stats on her last week. You've never seen matches lost like this. This woman has, she has not won matches. She,

31:33like four matches in a year on WWE television. And that includes like main event, dude, which is the definition of TV. A Jace. She went from winning everything in NXT to losing every, and listen, again, I'm not a big wins and losses guy, but at some point, you know, just like I say, Roman doesn't have to win every match. Yes, Roxanne doesn't have to lose every match either. Okay. Yeah, we could. Winds and losses don't matter, but you have to get to the point when you could sustain that, right? That's that's that's the thing you achieve in wrestling when your status is such that winds and losses don't matter. Piling on the losses before you have achieved that status is it ends up being a problem, like a huge problem. And another interesting conversation around that would be whenever Roman loses the title again in a weird way, I'll find it like cool and exciting for his character. Because with the title, I just feel he'll

32:35never lose. Now, if he was moving around again without the title, much like that lost to Bronson Reed, that lost to Bronson Reed did nothing to hurt Roman Reigns. No, but it was a super interesting thing to do for him and for Bronson Reed. But with the title, I will go into every match with an LA night like Dips said. I P8 losing to LA night in New Orleans. And then basically is demanding the briefcase

I would love that to see that. I don't see a world in which Roman Reigns tell somebody he needs a briefcase to be the champion. That's the only issue with that point. By the way, we'd love to see it. That's what we call a storyline. I do see Jacob as the Batista though, as the Samoa Batista. He wins the championship and Roman's like, all right, cool. I got this one. You go over there, you get Sammy because Sammy betrayed the family and he's on his high horse and you bring it back to the family, take it from Sammy. And then Jacob's like, I actually don't need the family because I

34:40have this briefcase and I have my own family. And then he's along with 946. And I will say this. The idea of Jacob winning the, do I light the idea of him having the briefcase? I do. I do. We know you do. He'd be psychotic with it slamming against his own head. He maybe could eat it and he could eat the briefcase. And you know, it all of it does make you realize even while we're like, as much as we're like smart marks, we're like, LA night can't beat Roman Reigns. But of course, like, if this is where they decide to really take the 946 thing and make it a thing, the beneficiary of that could end up being LA night. That could be the thing. The only unfortunate thing about that for me would be if LA night is to ever win the title, it feels to me like it's going to be one of those wins that are kind of for his fans. And when you win it,

35:47him winning it in that way, I don't know what hit the same way as him one day climbing the mountain. I just don't think that mountain is going to be Roman Reigns. That's the thing. Yeah.
