🔴 The US government persists in seizing Bitcoin, now controlling close to 1% of the circulating supply. Substantial seizures from Bitfinex hackers contribute to the government’s growing stockpile. Edward Snowden anticipates significant government involvement in the Bitcoin market. Through a series of seizures and asset forfeitures, the federal government has amassed enough Bitcoin to rank among the largest whales in the market. 🟢 ETF update
🟩 The Security Exchange Commission has postponed its verdict on numerous spot Ethereum ETF applications, including those from Fidelity Investments, Invesco US, and Galaxy Digital. Bloomberg’s ETF analyst, James Seyffart, CFA, CAIA, foresees ongoing delays until May 23, marking the ultimate deadline for VanEck and Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment Management LLC to submit their applications. Both applications were lodged on September 6, 2023. 🔵 Taiwan
- According to a March 4 report by UDN, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan has disclosed its intention to introduce a new draft of digital asset regulations by September 2024. Huang Tien-mu, the FSC chairman, stated that the forthcoming draft bill will focus on establishing more robust regulations for digital asset markets and ensuring investor safety.

🔴 Coinbase Glitch
❗ Coinbase experienced another glitch during volatile Bitcoin price action, sparking criticism from the crypto community. This follows a similar incident less than a week ago where users saw $0 balances. Despite assurances that funds were safe and trading unaffected, concerns arose as some users again reported zero balances. Developers swiftly worked on a fix, but criticism on Twitter highlighted frustration with Coinbase’s recurring technical issues.
