next week is enough said bring it in bring it in bring it in honest or petty Lawrence have you ever been reading a book and you get like a quarter down the page And you're like I think I know what happens the rest of this page. I don't need this. I'm gonna go ahead and turn it But and you're like it's a part of you internally is like we're not even done with the page You're like screw this. I am turning it Immediately as Ben Johnson before Celebrating the win that man turned the page. Well, it's an easier thing to do because it's an interconference game So it's not like you know like it's not like well We don't have to worry about the jets in a playoff situation like they're right Not we don't have to learn from this tape about the jets for the next time we play correct So like you can just move on and make your corrections and and then get yourself ready

And that's kind of where the bears are at right now and turn the page industries We'll take a long look at this tonight and have a statement for you tomorrow By the way white socks down to nothing headed to the bottom the first we're watching and living and dying along with you While you're also listening to us and we appreciate that Ben Johnson is spoken with the media a couple times since the win Let's here. We've been had to say because you look if there was something that was glaring from yesterday and something that That got to him It was them not cashing in as much in the red zone. Here's what he had to say about it It's different each week right now when you look back at it last week We were plagued with negative plays so we had a couple fouls. We had a false start. We had a holding I want to say we had four negative runs last week This week that wasn't the case. We stayed more on schedule and on track and our details got a little bit haywire and so We need a better job installing the play having the guys understand what the intended the play is

And we we got to make sure we get a great practice on Friday Which is our red zone day to make sure that any issues that could come up We we go ahead and address then and there and we're good to go for game day interesting guys better get their details together for this Friday Yeah, oh, yeah, he's gonna be on on point the red zone problems are real they went four for four To start the year at Carolina and they're four for 15 since Just in the microcosm yesterday. I didn't like throwing it on third and goal on that first drive you were that close To the goal line go ahead and bully them and run it and then they did it on fourth down And they didn't quite get there What I did love on the manongueye touchdown I think Ben's gonna have to keep doing is Motioning more guys into that power area that you're going like if you just want to go ahead and you're afraid that they're gonna key in on the right side and whatever Go ahead and motion a couple guys in on that manongueye touchdowny motion two guys in

To amplify what Jonah and Darnell we're gonna do and they also already had a tight end on that side And he had just load him up load up with bodies if need be go ahead and play that 14 personnel if you need to I mean and manongueye instead of swift right as a short yardage Manongueye like like I know that this was one of your things a couple years ago when we partnered up It was one of your things where you were like I don't like I like what what the Audrey something is do a near the goal line I didn't and you I think that you had a real argument like There's been an improvement of guys in front of him And I think that he's done a really good job of going to the spaces to get those extra yards But he just slashes into the spaces He's like one spot and then slash manongueye will bounce off and create that extra little half yard if he needs it right I also think that manongueye is He's exactly the type of runner that you want on the goal line

He I it's weird to say it this way. I don't think that guy cares about yards per attempt I really don't I think he cares about all right I'm gonna get to this get to the sticks or I'm gonna get to the end zone It's a it's a it's a odd comp for me to make for him And we're talking about a player that was very prolific from a yardage standpoint because of how long he played I think that near the goal line Common unguys got a little bit of frank Gore in him where it's like I'll just do what I gotta do. I'll lean. I'll fall. I'll bounce I'll get smaller if I need to at the goal line, but I'm going to score Yeah, you know, I like that and here's the other thing that I was thinking about Is that Ben has some history with this remember when Jamal Williams was the goal line back in Detroit? Yes And he had what 17 touchdowns

in 2022 And he wasn't necessarily You know the fastest and quickest back. I mean he did have a thousand yards that that year, but like It was undoubtedly unequivocally the dude that they gave the ball to inside the five and I think that ought to be caught You know what I should text JP and ask him if that's a good comp frank Gore. Yeah frank frank Gore Specifically goal line like Frank Gore at the goal line is that a good comp for Kyle Manongai because I feel like I'm seeing a guy that just has a nose for it and Is not like understands like I don't need a big run. I'm just gonna lean What you know who Jamal Swift or Jamal Williams got goal line carries Um For that year Deandre Swift Jamal Williams in Detroit the year at 17 touchdowns Deandre Swift was the other primary running back for the Lions

And he had five touchdowns So he's done this before go ahead and let Kyle Manongai be your Jamal Williams. Yeah, you can let him do that Well, let's see eyes hand is yeah, you know like but yeah if you need it great. All right. Let's talk ball security here This is what Ben had to say about Baygent and the day that he had and them taking care of the ball the first one He's got to do a better job with the ball If he feels like he can't complete it there. He's got to he's got to dirt it I think when you have the click in your hand. I think there's there's an opportunity hit that on the other side of sweat But once again, he's got to make that decision in real time But we certainly can't put that ball in jeopardy like that the one of cleaf That's exactly where we want to go with the ball And I thought the foul had something to do with with us not being open on that play when you haven't played I ton of football in a while He certainly understands how important it is to team success But at the same time we don't want him to lose his aggressiveness level either We had some opportunities for some big plays down the field that he didn't pull the trigger on also

And so there's a balancing act there It's something that we'll be able to they're talking about review the tape and learn from and move on from but You know he certainly is conscious about how important it is to give our guys a chance Didn't good accurate balls and and keep him moving from there But he he made a lot of really good decisions throughout that game Um, I thought the operation was really smooth and really clean I think his teammates really responded to him being out there. Yeah, I think that's that's really That's really the intent for all of our guys right now. It's it's every week. We try to show them What they did well and what we need to continue to do and areas of improvement across the board and You know offensively we've been talking about the red zone execution defensively We need to continue to to get tighter defending the run game Special teams wise it's kickoff return was not very good and in an area of improvement for us And then for each particular player it's it's no different. So for him um thought he did a great job with the operation

The game didn't seem too big form and yet there's there's a few there's a few missed opportunities out there as well I think he wants the To continue to hone in on his ball location making sure he's getting the ball out in front of guys properly so that they can run through the catch and You know, I'm really I'm pleased with where he was at for the first week. You know, they yeah, you have So a little bit of adversity there, you know, even the sweat interception that was negated That could easily put you in the tank, but he's a resilient individual and he was able to power through that and It makes some big place for us down the down the game. Oh, it's interesting like the the the lineman interception could have put you mentally in the tank and it didn't do that and he liked that among other things What I'm saying there in week one for hit to see this um And it's a good teaching tape. It's a good teaching tape Uh some news out of green bay. Thanks our guy Connor for pointing this out and this is from Yahoo Packers defensive in micaparcin's is eligible to come off the physically

Unable to perform list this week, but it will not happen head coach Matt Laflore said on his press conference That he will not practice this week Parsons said this summer that he thought week six was the most optimistic date for him returned from last year's torn ACL quote from Laflore The guy is working his butt off out there. We've made some ground in the last week but when and when he'll be available Time will tell I'm certainly looking forward to that day close quote. So if if Kyler might be back before mica So there's that I mean, this is a we're on Kyler watch We're on Kyler watch all right, so no mica for this and no Kayla and no way that he's been ruled out of the game against green bay as well Not gonna practice this week. Nope. So this is this is Baygent. This is Baygent against the Packers

And the bears are favored on the road in green bay for the first time in 20 years It's you and a half point favorites amazing with Tyson Baygent as the quarterback of the team that says an awful lot It really does when we come back The game didn't have a lot of flow and I wonder if that played a role in the broadcast not having a lot of flow Let's discuss that next year on the score Bears fans are reacting on the score after the big win over the jets tomorrow and walk kegis is looking like a playoffs The way bingo has the same operating. We're like we're going deep into the playoffs ready welcome hot patent The defense campaign great Caleb Williams. I'm glad he's sitting on the bench because now he's the earning that you can actually sit in the pocket and throw Signs to everybody. They're welcome to hot patent the outfit itself was the star of the team. Not one individual player We're talking bears on Chicago sports radio 104 three the score and live on the free audacity app
