0:00Welcome back to Patrons to yet another prequel. I am joined today by none other than Annelie here. Welcome Annelie. Thank you. Today you will be wearing the shroud of Alira. Yes, that's yeah I've been looking forward to that. I missed her. Oh it's been far too long but soon you will be able to to act out your inner diva all the more because we're about to record some more for binilands very very soon as well but this is a prequel so this is a flashback to the early days of Alira. A flashback to when she was still living in needles and with her mother and it's a time when she

1:05has just started up her business with Annelie. It's been ongoing for I would say a few months. So you've not acquired any wealth really but you've you've managed to buy a horse in a cart so you can so you can transport your goods from needles and where these goods are not always unrubly acquired. So you have a horse in a cart so because you can't sell them in little sand because that would be really weird. Yeah people will find out. So you go to Sandhill instead of the neighbouring village where you sell your goods. This particular Saturday morning you're on your way you're en route from needle sand to Sandhill.

2:11You have some stuff in the back to sell. It's stuff. You're using the stuff in the back man. Check the trunk. Check the trunk. Yeah dude. You should see. It's like the best ever man. Okay wrong character. Yeah so yeah you're sitting there who is holding the reins? I said you were an Ella. Inelda. Inelda okay. Is it because you too much of a diva and you want to have her driving you or is it because she's some more competent horse and I would say pure laziness from a lyricist. Yeah laziness and also the divasks thing she's doing. Yeah. So inelda she's snapping the reins and you are on the road.

3:12It's a little bit more than a path but it's not really a road. It's a path that's been trodden a lot by both man and beast. Inelda looks up at Elira and she says, do you think we'll get? Do you think we'll get good money for this? Of course we will but hurry up and drive faster. You're so slow. Faster but we could break a wheel. No no we won't. I mean this wagon is the best. I saw it and I was like we've got to have this. It's going to be so good. It's going to take us where we want to go. You know it's the best. Trust me. Are you sure? Yeah I said trust me. Okay she snaps the reins and the horse goes a little bit faster not much but a little bit faster. She smiles up at you. So are we there yet?

4:13No we just left the village. Oh dear dear. She snaps her reins a bit more to make the car to go even faster. The thought of having Elira saying, oh we're there yet? Oh we're there yet? Oh we're there yet? The whole ride there? Just yeah. It's miss lovely. But that's that's that's fun because then I get a roll for Enelda to see how well she's driving the car and she's not that good at it. But I do get a success actually. Boring. So she yeah so she actually managed to get the horse up to a trot and avoid the bigger bumps in the road. It will still just one success so it's a bumpy ride and yeah I feel like having a little bit of fun.

5:15Would you make a move roll for me to see if Elira manages to stay on the wagon? Sure. On this bumpy ride. No successes? No successes. Do you want to push it? Yeah. Yeah. All right. I do. Go ahead. One more. Oh two successes. Two successes. No ones? Actually there's one one. Yeah. Okay so you get one damage to agility. So what happens is you you have to hold on pretty hard to be able to stay on the wagon. But you do hurt your buttock a bit from all the bumping and stuff like that so yeah. Okay. So you will have yeah you're less agile than you were before.

6:17Probably a little bit cranky as well I mean. But the the ride will go a lot faster to send him for sure. For sure. That's good. Hmm. What's in the what's in the trunk? What's in the back of the wagon? What what what kind of wears to have? What are you going to try and sell up in Sandehill? Some ordinary stuff and then one piece of like piece to resistance among your stuff. Look at that metal. Not all the stuff is not all the stuff is contraband of course but I'm thinking this piece to resistance is something that you stall from someone high up in a middle sound. Yeah it's a silver medallion with engraved mints on it. They they don't know really what it's for but it looks pretty fancy and it's heavy so but it's still silver it could be gold but it's just silver. All right. There is some some first and some weapons.

7:25Yeah. Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing that you can't sell. If you're with somebody's name written all over it like. Yeah. Of course a medallion in these parts is not that common so I mean it could be. So no one would have one at? Yeah. Yeah no name exactly exactly and I think that maybe the the pattern on the medallion is a quite common one. Perhaps not very unique in design. No. No. Okay. So the medallion is yeah do you have it on you or is it in the back? Yes. No no no no there is wearing it around her neck. Who did she get it from? She found it at this house where she wanted to have a little look around in the middle of the night and know what he was home. So that worked out splendidly for her. Okay. Finders keepers right?

8:26Yeah. Finders keepers yeah sure yeah. They didn't lock the door so I mean hey. So what does Alira and Inella talk about during the cart ride? Well since Inella is actually driving faster now. Inella for once actually shuts up a bit because she doesn't want to complain that it's too fast now. So she's kind of moody and cranky and just she wants to just make it there. Okay. All right. All right. I would like you to make a scouting roll. Three turning out of the way. One success. One success. Okay. Let me roll here as well.

9:31Do you want to push that? Roll. Do I dare? I mean. No no. No. I don't think. Okay. No. Okay. Then you do not beat the two successes of the highway robbers that are in classic. Classic. You turn the corner and you actually I'm going to make another roll for her driving here because she's driving so fast and you round the corner and they have shopped down a tree to put across the road. Oh. And no she doesn't have time to to rain in in time. So the horse is like trotting very fast. Rounds the corner and sees the tree and manages to like run away to the side but cuts the like turns turns turns too fast. So the whole cart just flips up on the side.

10:33Oh. Okay. Okay. So you both you and I meld are thrown off the cart onto the ground. Okay. And as a leader is lying there in the muddy road looking up at this. What is muddy? Of course it's muddy. Of course it's muddy. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Mud all over her face. She looks up and she sees these enormous pair of boots. Mmm hmm. That are standing on top of the tree. The felled tree. That is. And it's a dashing individual. Very very handsome. With hair flowing in the wind. Bright hair. Silvery hair almost. Huh. Flowing in the wind. Yeah. Okay. Mmm hmm. What about that? Holding up a saber saying Dear Madams.

11:34You have the honor of being robbed by none other than Aetanda and his merry gang. Eww. First of all I'm not a madam because I have clay all over my face and it's your fault. And second of all I like your boots and your hair. Wow. Thank you little Mrs. Eww I'm not a Mrs. I don't know. I don't know Mrs. And nobody. What's your name then? Inelda. My name is Inelda. No that's my name. I said it first. She's Alira. No that's you. And I'm Inelda and I'm nice to meet you. Pleasure to meet you. You have the honor of being robbed by none other than Aetanda and his merry gang. Yeah you told us um but see um you should go and marry your gang somewhere else because these are our things and we need to to get up so please help us up with the wagon again

12:38that you made for a lover like this. And we go on our merry way. I'm gonna tell you this little Mrs. little Alira inelda Mrs. We can help you with your wagon there. If you hand over your value books if you please. We don't have anything valuable. Don't you now? No. No. No. What are you doing out on the road with bags there packed with goods? It's sightseeing. We're taking a little you know road trip to San De Hill just to check it out. You know haven't been there for a long time. I mean what's new? Who's wearing what and what's up with everything? Mm-hmm. So I think it's time for an manipulation role here? No. Okay. Yep. Pretty good to say that.

13:43Oh. Two sixes and one one. Okay. Do you want to push that? I think I should. Yeah. I'm keeping this excess. Mm-hmm. And I'm doing this. Oh. Three ones. Three ones on the attribute dice. Yeah. Okay so your empathy goes down from five to two then. Oh. Mm-hmm. And I think why? Because I mean after all you're a you're a pretty good liar. You know this. Yep. Pretty damn good manipulator. You did get two successes. Yeah. But this elephant because now that he comes close so you see that yeah he is an elf. Oh. He looks at you intently and you might notice that I'm not throwing any dice here for insight.

14:43He just he just looks at you and he says Now now it won. Don't you go lying to me? I did not take color to that. But but I wasn't lying. Um I wasn't and by the way I you um let's just tell me are you an elf because he kind of looked like one. And I'm also I mean we're kind of kindered. You know. How do you mean? Uh I mean I'm I'm I'm also an elf so I mean you're an elf I'm an elf you know. You're almost certainly not an elf. I am. I am look at look here. And she lifts up P like her um a piece of her like a strand of her hair. Her silvery shiny hair as she shows her ears. And she's like pointing at them. Look here okay. How fell the

15:44Yeah but I have two ears but it makes me one whole elf. Don't you agree? No you don't. Hmm it takes up a handkerchief and he hands it to you. Thank you. It's so considerate of you. If you wipe off her face. She wipes off her face and uh as she does so he you notice that he uh he um gasps just almost inaudibly. Just hmm yeah. And she goes like yeah I know I know I'm pretty. Well certainly not but just wait here for just one minute. If you don't mind. No I'm fine. And he goes away and you see now that he's um trusted companions or aiming balls and crossbows at you from both sides of the of the road.

16:49They are so there's no chance to sneak off. No no no no chance to sneak off but what he does is he um he goes back behind the tree and pulls up a um backpack and the rummages through it and he uh he pulls up a map and he starts looking at it and he uh starts looking up the sky looking out looking towards the mountains in the west and to the to the forest that's to the east and south. What are never thought? Huh. And he goes back to you and he says where are you from? I'll be right now to know one. Yeah um I'm from Needles End.

17:49Oh and uh what of your kin there? Oh well I I and she actually tells the truth I mean she basically never does but with him she's like um well I they're with my mom. And why do you want to know? What's your mother's name? Her name is Ayrola. What? Ayrola from Needles and you say? Yeah. That's her right. Hold on. I just said that you don't uh are you about 18 years old per chance? Kind of yeah yeah something like that okay add a couple of years but not too many I'm super

18:50young so yeah but you want to know. Hmm and he uh looks up at his merry bunch of robbers and says what are you done here? They may leave. Help them out with their courage there. That's so sweet thank you. Hmm it's really nice another another so sweet of them. How can we thank you? I mean thanks so much. Yeah it's really nice of you thank you so much it's uh we really appreciate it. Would you like a dagger perhaps? Give a way a dagger just because a robber decided to rob you okay you say thank you and then you go. He takes you by the arm and says my mind I have a word or two before you.

19:54Uh sure yeah but I'm not single. Just let you know. I do believe that. Hey listen here Alira. Yeah something you need to know about the great world out here. Hmm if you want to tell a lie you need to know you need to really know that it sticks. Uh all right. You mostly but what you do hush now. Okay now what you do now is that you you never ever break eye contact. Stay or opponent down look at straining the eyes. Okay. You're never budge not an inch all right.

20:54Okay. Okay. The same if you want to try and figure out if someone else is lying. I stare at them. Look I'm straight in the eye. Okay. All right. I will. If you are going to pursue a career say peddler. Hmm. You need to have strong arms around you. Hmm. Take yourself from rob us and lie. Yeah. Well thank you so much for the thank you for the advice. Um I mean really really nice of you. Thanks dad. Hmm. Okay come on and let's go.

21:55And you uh you mount the cart and you round the the the tree. They've rolled it a bit to the sides so you can pass and you go towards Sandhill. And you reach Sandhill and you you sell your wares there. And you uh yeah you fetch a fair price you you're trying these uh that's not new advice but I mean you really focus now on the uh on the eye staring trick that this outfit gave you and and it man you manage to fetch a uh a bit to tidy your assam then you what have expected. So you uh you buy some wares from from Sandhill which you bring back sell because I mean taking a cart empty from one village to another is just stupid. That's just stupid. That's just stupid.

23:00And then there's the cart ride home again to Needlesham. Uh do you ask any other to speed up again? No this time. She learned from her mistake. So she just she doesn't want to be a little really but her again so so she's like uh okay um yeah towards the end of the journey you passed the the place where the ambush took place and you're both kind of she rarers in the horse and she she just says I want such a strange encounter don't you think? Lich encounter. Oh you mean the ambush? Yeah the ambush. Yeah the uh I found her. Yeah I mean that is actually something really really kind of strange um I think you know the the guy who who we're talking to us I think I think he might be um might have been I don't know like it related to me I don't know related?

24:04What do you mean? Yeah you know because he was kind of I mean he looked really extremely super good and so do I so I mean that could have been I mean I don't know maybe he lost my daddy. Just because you both look good? Yeah no I mean he gave me a bunch of advice and you know he started talking about my mom and like oh how old are you and stuff like that. And I'm super used to those kinds of questions you know but not like that and he gave me a really really weird stare that is not the stare that I'm used to. Hmm so yeah. Well you've been talking about not knowing who your dad is for a As long as I know you. Yeah I know but I mean we just both kind of natural to to talk to him and stuff like that and I mean he was kind of nice but you think. I was very polite.

25:04Yeah a gentleman. Maybe yeah I mean I couldn't believe that I would be the daughter of a gentleman but you know maybe I am maybe I should be a little bit more fancy in my ways. Yeah a bit more fancy? Yeah and maybe I should have that axle that he has and try it on and sound like this when I speak. You like? I don't know whatever floats your boat. I might try it on some time but I mean that advice about looking people in the eyes that was really really good and I'm taking that with me that was really good. Hmm it works you know it works look at me like look. And she stares at her friend riding the eye with her purple eyes. Yeah it works huh yeah it works yeah sure yeah yeah for sure yeah I feel super intimidated somehow yeah yeah it's my power I gotta come to him I guess.

26:12Yeah yeah for sure one day you know what one day I might look him up and then I will be a part of his great adventure maybe maybe you know he can teach me a lot of good things. You want to go out adventuring? Yeah maybe someday not now. Now we just started our business. Yeah peddlers are us. Yeah peddlers are us exactly great catch your name. Yes. I love it. I love it. Peddlers are us. I love it. Yeah let's go in that. It's Kanonel. Cool. Yeah the last thing she says before the cart rolls into the village of Needle Sound is he did have funny boots though.

27:16Yeah he did I really liked them. And that's where we end this prequel. All right so you think it was your dad or am I from the first one? Yeah I think it is. Most definitely. Do you think that Elira got disconfirmed by her mother later or is it just an assumption on her part? I think it's an assumption for now. Okay. She's not that close to her mom even though they're living together. So I think that maybe people come up in another prequel or something or we don't know do you see or maybe it will come up in the campaign. In the campaign bricks exactly. No no no no. Stick around you'll find out. Not even I know so I mean how could you know? Not even I know. No. So how could you know? No but I know. We know. All right great fun episode. Fun prequel.
