Aberdeen's Technical Foul Fuels Kentucky's SEC Tourney Win

0:00On March 11, Kentucky pulled out an 87-82 win over LSU in the opening round of the SEC tournament. A key highlight involved guard Denzel Aberdeen, who drew a technical foul during a crucial second half surge that helped the Wildcats take control. With nine minutes and 32 seconds left, Aberdeen drained a tough floater off the backboard over LSU Center Michael Nowoko, stretching Kentucky's lead to nine points. That shot capped a strong run featuring back-to-back three-pointers from Brandon Garrison, firing up the crowd in Nashville. After Nowoko hit the floor, Aberdeen stared him down and stuck out his tongue, leading one official to whistle the technical. Fans and observers called it a questionable call, especially with flagrant fouls already handed out to both teams earlier. The foul didn't derail Kentucky's momentum. Aberdeen ended with 16 points on six of 13 shooting. Three assists, two rebounds, a steal, and just one turnover in 37 minutes of play.

1:02Lay in the game as LSU closed to within five points, Aberdeen sank two free throws with 40 seconds left to ice the victory and send Kentucky, advancing in the tournament.
