In this episode, I talked to Dr. Leslie Leinwand, Chief Scientific Officer of the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado Boulder and serial entrepreneur. In addition to her lab, she is the founder of Myogen, acquired by Gilead Sciences, Myokardia, acquired by Bristol Myers Squibb, and her new startup, Kardigan. We talked about the behind the scenes stories of her different companies and the journey from incorporation to IPO. She also talked about her research in cardiac hypertrophy with pythons and how the NIH budget cuts will affect universities nationwide in America. She also mentioned her new startup, Kardigan, that just came out of stealth mode.
