6 Inmates on the Run After Ontario Jail Releases

0:00Six inmates who were mistakenly let out of Ontario jails are still on the run, according to Premier Doug Ford. He stressed that more than 150 have been improperly released from the provincial system since 2021, calling the whole. Mess unacceptable but promising they'll all get caught soon. Officials first claimed every single one of those mistakenly freed criminals was rounded up right away. That changed after apologies from Ontario solicitor general Michael Kersner and his deputy who admitted they misboked during question period and to reporters last week. A freedom of information request uncovered the full picture, 157 releases between 2021 and 2000, 25, with some inmates dodging capture for months. Ford's team is ramping up the hunt now, determined to lock down any loose ends before this spirals further. This has been Canada News Today, powered by AI.
