What is going on, faithful? It is Thursday, which means this is the time we take a peek. Behind the curtains, what is the coach approach? How are the 49ers going to align? What are they going to be doing to Seattle? That means I'm with the main man himself. Ant from 49ers, cut back. How are we doing, Ant? I'm doing great. It's Thursday, which means we are almost to the game on Sunday, which I'm super excited about. I think that this game is going to go a long way to determine what exactly people feel about the 49ers. I know right now a lot of people are thinking they're either the best team or some people are thinking it's a mirage. You know, this reminds me of some of the conversation that Steve Young and the 49ers had in 1994 when they were trying to beat the Dallas Cowboys in the regular season and how much that win in the regular season meant for their psyche. And I think that this one might be important for the 49ers when it comes to psyche. If they walk out of Seattle with a big win, I think that that's going to go a long way to proving to them. And I think that they believe they can beat Seattle, but it'll go a long way of proving yeah, we can beat Seattle.

So I'm looking forward to that. And I'm kind of have a little bit of a similarity between that in the 94 team and getting over the hump against those Cowboys. Now they got to get over the hump against my team. Mike McDonald and Seattle Seahawks. You know, it's weird because you know, I'm going through the history of the matchup and records and the Seahawks have beaten the 49ers way more than the 49ers have victories in this matchup. You look back to the Russell Wilson years and like it was one sided for a decade. But make Kyle Shanahan. If you take off the last two losses, which if you leave them on that's fine too, Kyle Shanahan was seven and one. And his last eight matchups against the Seahawks before those, you know, that week 18 and then the week, you know, the divisional round. He was seven and one and a lot of those wins were against Mike McDonald. So like there has been success. It's just man getting thumped twice in three weeks and ending the season on that 41 6 burner. Yeah, there does feel like man, like when was the last time we beat these guys?

Yeah, beat them last year in Seattle. Brock's four and one against the Seahawks in Seattle. So like I do, I recognize and I completely agree with you that it does feel like, okay, you got to get the monkey off your back and all that stuff. I love this TV young reference. But man, they have had success. Brock has had success. Those last two games, not so much. And man, I want to go to, you know, shout out to the stud, a cauch if you don't follow him on Twitter, he's one of the best out there. These are starters. The 49ers will have this week in Seattle that they didn't have in the divisional round. Okay. George Kittle, Fred Warner, Drake Greenlaw, Mike Evans, Debo Samuel, Oso Diggie Zua and maybe Michele Williams. Is that enough to close that 41 to 6 gap? I mean, those are a few potential first ballot hall of famous. I would say so. You know, Mike Evans alone makes a big difference. He is, he's went off on Seattle before. I mean, just last year with Tampa Bay, he was able to make things happen for the Tampa Bay

Buckingeer. So yeah, Mike Evans is a real threat. And I think that that is going to play a part in this game. But also George Kittle. I mean, George Kittle is a touchdown machine. Here he is coming back from the Achilles. He's got four touchdowns in four weeks. The 49ers are the best red zone offense in the NFL. They don't look at Seattle because they're not very good in the red zone when it comes to playing defense. They're great on third down. They're not good in the red zone for whatever reason. And I think you look at it. It does make a big difference. Very green law and Debo Samuel. They are guys who set the tone. They're tone setters and the 49ers didn't have tone setters last year. And so I think that offensively and defensively, they can get those cues from those guys. And anytime you can say that you just have Fred Warner on the field, I just feel like it makes you better. So I do think that it's very impactful to have those guys back. I think Michele Williams being back is going to be huge as well. The only thing really missing from this cocktail of players coming back is Nick Bosa, which would have been huge for this football team. He was the one that closed the door in week one last year, getting after Sam Darlene knocking the ball out. But 49ers, getting all these guys back, I do think it closes the gap.

It's going to be a big difference for this 49ers football team on Sunday. You know, it's funny to talk about Nick Bosa. You know, as soon as he gets injured, everybody's like, cut, trade him, get rid of him. And I'm like, man, y'all do not remember last year to you because when Nick Bosa was out there, you closed out three of the first three games because of Nick Bosa, pinnaled, you know, plays in the fourth quarter. Like you, you know, just replace that. Imagine if you had that right now. Yeah, anyway, the short-sightedness of fans will never astound me. I know that's not everybody, but it is some Chris Niners says the 49ers are going into this one pissed off and looking to get some payback. That definitely seems to be the tone in every interview, every question asked. We know what's at stake. We know what this is. We've had this one circled, those types of things. I am curious. You know, I was talking with Larry Krueger last night. It reminds me a lot of the Eagles after that 2022 season, whenever Brockhart is ACL or the UCL or UCI, whatever.

In that first series, and then they played the Eagles the next year and just everybody showed up in all black, blew them out of the water. Debo had the game of his life. And then the Eagles were not existed for two years after that. Like it just completely buried them. I'm not saying that's what I expect to happen, but this is the last time I felt that way, where a team had so much on top of, you know, and ended the 49ers season, then they came back and just punched them in the teeth. I don't know. Like, am I the only one that sees similarities between that Eagles reunion and the Seahawks reunion? No, I think it's very similar. You know, I think that there's a lot of conversation. You got, you know, your guy, you know, Byron Murphy, putting the, you know, get back over your little boy or whatever it was, you know, the Christian McCaffrey after the game, you know, they were talking about smoking stokeys and all that. There's some, some little disrespect. And you know, Leonard Williams has said it before, we don't like those guys. And we know that Fred Warner when he gets and he starts talking to his team this week,

he's going to say, we don't like these boys. We hate these boys. Like, there's a, there's a real energy of dislike and there's no way that the 49ers team can feel good about what happened last year. They are carrying that into this year. It's probably a big reason why so many of them were motivated and why Brock Purty looks so good because he worked so hard during the off season. This is a big game for them. And I do think they're similarities to that because when everyone says you can't do something or you wouldn't have beat somebody, I think a lot of times that gets in your head and you're like, you know what, we're going to prove to everybody. It's just a different mentality. So yeah, I love it. I would love for it to, I mean, look at the Eagles right now trading away, Cam, Yerrigans, and doing everything that they're doing. There's pretty much looks like they're selling on the season already. The 49ers probably broke them. And I think that this is a situation where I'd love to see the 49ers go and do that to Mike McDonald in this defense because Brock has had success against this defense before you brought it up earlier. But because of the recent history, they're making it sound like Brock has never played

well against the Seattle Seahawks defense. So I do think that that would be awesome to see the 49ers come out and handle business against Seattle. And what would that do to the NFC West and what would that do to Seattle? He's got the toughest schedule in the NFL coming up. Now the 40 diners don't have an easy schedule, right? You got commanders and you got Falcons in a by week. And now the Falcons are looking like a formidable opponent. But the Seattle Seahawks go at Denver, Kansas City, Chicago. Those are the next three games. Then they've got the Cardinals, which are right. And then at Las Vegas Raiders, which now looks like a good game. So they definitely have a schedule. They've got to start stacking wins. They've got to start stacking wins. I want to take a second, just say thank you to men Sky Walker.

One thank you for your generosity. But he says going through a lot right now, man, but listening to you guys talk, Niners football makes my day also, Braden will is time. Hey, just want to lift you up, man. You're a freaking stud. Glad that you are with us, spend time with positive people that do lift you up. We love you, man. And feel free to reach out if you need to talk 40 hours rush podcasts to Gmail.com. You're a freaking stud. You got this. It just want to say thank you. Let's talk about Braden Willis. He comes in last week. And both of the drives that he came in on score touchdowns. Like I'm not saying he's better than Kyle Yusseck or anywhere close. I do think that it is a down step for sure. But Braden Willis did not disappoint in the few limited snaps that he had out there on Sunday. Yeah, I think it's interesting. You know, everyone was calling for the 49ers to go to 13 personnel during the offseason. Why aren't the 49ers going 13 personnel? Well, guess what? You get what you want, what you're hoping for. Because when Braden Willis was out there, they ran a lot of money. A lot of 13 personnel with Luke Farrell and George Kittle out there on the field as well.

And you know, I'm guessing that's how Seattle will probably determine what the personnel group is going to be is probably 13 personnel with Braden Willis. But I thought he did a pretty good job. You know, I didn't it wasn't like as secure blocking as Kyle Yusseck. There was some times he was just getting just enough of like Talonoh who fallen again. Some of those players. But I thought that he knew what he was doing. He went to the right spots. And I think that getting thrown in there kind of last minute and being expected to do the motions and shifts and things. He did a really good job. So yeah, I'm optimistic about what he can do. And he is a threat catching the football of the backfield. You know, so you don't lose anything as far as you know, having that player go out and make some plays when it comes to coming out of the backfield. Now is he Kyle Yusseck? Like you said, no, he's not. But I think that they are comfortable. You know, it would have been Jake Tonjes. Of course, he's injured. Now it's Braden Willis. And now it's a good thing that they decided to keep him this whole time. And now he's going to prove his worth. So I'm excited to see what Braden Willis can do back there. I was very happy for him when he got drafted by the 49ers out of Oklahoma.

And we haven't really seen him be able to help this team a lot. I'm hoping this week will be a big week for him. And the 49ers can lean on him. Maybe he'll make a couple of catches, a couple of pivotal blocks. But I do think we should see some fun stuff with Debot and Christian McCaffer in the backfield as well. Yeah, I like that. I'm excited. Man, I'll say this. Braden Willis has been a stalwart on special teams. And then you think about coming out of the half debo fun bowls coughs it up. Braden Willis Johnny on the spot. That's like one of the most pivotal place of the whole game that he was able to make. It's so good. Look at this. Josh, my man, 49ers faithful forever. Appreciate you, brother. Josh is the executive producer of so much like we're going to have trivia questions for our Seattle trip. Give it away. A bunch of autographed jerseys and stuff. Josh helps with those and he helps with our scouting report. You're the freaking man. He says the two legends, John and Ant. What's up fellas? Do you are the man, Josh? Thank you so much, brother. Right here, Joe. Oh, come on in. Too funny. I had to stop listening to crew and John to catch you guys live.

Can't make it to Seattle this year. Definitely be with you guys in spirit. It was so great meeting you last year, Joe. We'll be back. Seattle's a hopskip and a jump for us. So we'll be back and we'll see you again. But I just want to say appreciate you, man. Thanks for listening. I'm going to have to go to the airport. Thanks for the positivity and your friendship. You are the freaking man. Kim bro, come at it. Strong. What's up, man? Thank you. Do you think we can see some D line from the Eagles since they seem like they are selling? Now I want to push back on the selling narrative. They did lose two offensive linemen in one week. But I would argue they really like Twilly Lamkin. And so them getting rid of Jurgens, they saw it as well. We like Lamkin. We're cool with him. So if we can get a second back, I do think that Baltimore overpaid for Jurgens, but now they don't have the depth. It does seem like they're kind of selling, but I don't think they're ready and sell mode yet. If they get there, that could change.

What are your thoughts? How do you see this? Yeah, I don't think they're going to go for a full sell. I think they're trying to build for the draft. He's being very strategic, getting players that maybe he can make a move. And this might not be about a complete stripped down, but this might be about maybe moving off Jalen Hertz. The money for him is going away. You get a lot of money, a lot of firepower to be able to jump up in the draft and get some playmakers a quarterback potentially. So I think he's taking an eye looking at the future. I think how he rose been looking at this team and realizing the chances of them going deep into the playoffs or to the Super Bowl are probably not there. So I think it'll be very selective about who he trades away. I think your against was an interesting one. If you like Willie Lampkin, great. I mean, the first thing I would do is stick a guy with really long arms right on top of Lampkin and just go shed, you know, stack and shed go right past him. I'm not really concerned about him. So that's an interesting move for me. Maybe they'll move Landon Dickerson eventually back to the center, but yeah, I thought it

was a strange move. I don't think they're going to sell off their defensive line though. They've paid those guys so much money. So I think other positions, yes, but not defensive line agreed there. The fact that they got knocked out in the wildcard round by the injured 49ers at home last year. Yeah, that was the death blow for sure. Now I've got a question KAD over on Patreon. He wanted to know specifically yours in my opinion on OSA. How has OSA Diggy Zua been performing? Is he leaving up to your expectations like contract? How are you seeing them on film? Where do you land on OSA Diggy Zua's performance after one month with the 49ers? I think it's been good. I don't think it's been great. I thought that he was going to generate a little bit more when it came to stack numbers. I think Nick Vosin not being there hurts. I think you're not getting that outside pressure where someone has to step up in the pocket and OSA Diggy Zua can get there with SAC. He's still getting the pressures. I think the area that probably the most concerns me is when it comes to run defense.

Sometimes he just gets moved. He gets washed. He gets double team. I think that that's probably one of the concerns. I don't know if he's hit his stride yet. I would say that it's been hidden missed. There's some parts of his game. I really love. I love the fact he gets after the quarterback. I am concerned a little bit about the run defense. The guys around him have played really well. Some of the other defensive linemen have stepped up. I'm not disappointed with the trade. I think if you told me you get a third round pick and they're going to do what he's doing right now, you'd be over the moon about it. I'm not disappointed, but I'm still waiting for him to hit his stride. Maybe that will be when they get an outside edge presence that can generate a little pressure and they have to step up. OSA Diggy Zua can get some of those SACs. I think we're all hoping he's going to get. He's the one healthy defensive tackle of your top five starting the year. We just lost, I guess, top four, the three other number two, number three, number four all injured. It hasn't been great. He's got no SACs. He played 201 snaps, but four quarterback hits.

And I put in my notes too. You're not going to get the full potential of OSA Diggy Zua until Nick Bosa comes back. They feed off of each other. And man, I went into a deep dive on where OSA is lining up, which you brought him in to be a three tech. That's what he is. He's got 56 of his 200 snaps playing defensive end. You playing five technique. You're having to use him as an edge rusher because your defensive ends are so hard. Yes, 100% worth it. Would you do the trade now knowing exactly what you know? Yes, I do the third round pick easily. It's just he hasn't set it on fire. I get that. And the stat sheet, which not saying this is UK, because I know he watches the tape over on Patreon. But like, man, the numbers aren't there. He's had a couple miss SACs, but he is impacting the game. He hasn't been great in the run game, but he's playing out a position a lot.

So I like him. I think his best football is ahead of him. And man, you've got to give him some help. You've got to give him some help. And yeah, right here, Ben, a whole cast stepped up in a Sebastian Valdez consistent player. And he's playing really, really well. My favorite thing about Sebastian Valdez that he was playing against duo on one snap. And he takes, he takes this guy and throws him into drake green law. And it's like, no, that's not your job. Like occupy the lineman. And they got a big run out of it. Two plays later, they run to oh again. And he doesn't let them go. So like you're seeing the wheels turn on. There was another series earlier in the game where he got fold blocked. He's lined up like in a two Y the center blocks him. And then the, you know, the guard that he's lined up on folds behind the center and goes kicks out. And he shoots up field instead of stopping and crossing face it. It's like no, no, no, that's what they want you to do.

Don't do that. Two plays later, they do the same thing. He crosses over face and gets in on the tackle. So you're seeing the flip the switch on rookie mistakes. Football like you now. I know Sebastian Valdez, not technically a rookie, but he hasn't played. And you don't get those coaching whatever when you run and scout team against the Niners offense. So like you're starting to see the reps, you're starting to see the play is there. And the biggest reason why Sebastian Valdez hasn't been called up to this point, one traits, two, he's incredibly raw. You didn't have elite traits. That's why nobody ever claimed to them off practice squad, despite preseason tape being what it was. Now you're starting to get the seasoning on Sebastian Valdez. And it's like, okay, maybe you have something here. There have been guys that are this undersized think about who's the defensive tack we paid all that money to and he just keeps getting cut and signed in elsewhere from the Eagles. Jvon Hargrave. Hargrave. Yeah. Like he could have that type of career, a very similar trajectory.

Now Hargrave cashed in and was able to, you know, become quite the pass rusher. But Sebastian Valdez is a guy that just consistently does the damn job consistently. And just if he can eliminate more of those negatives, there's a bright future there. So what's your kind of stance on Sebastian Valdez through two games of playing with the Niners? I mean, I was super excited about what he did in this last game. I thought that they actually gave him some extra reps because of how well he was playing against the run. And you know, he does some of the things that you like when playing against a double team. You know, he tries to hold his ground sometimes, but other times you know, he gets skinny. He tries to get through there. He attacks. I liked his willingness to kind of shed players and make plays. You saw some of the football intelligence come through. I think that you're talking about, you know, him seeing where the running back was having his eyes up and then going over another gap. He's not even supposed to be over there. He gets over there, sticks over there and makes the play. I thought that that was nice too. So you're seeing good consistent reps from him. And it's a lot like up to and stout was last year where they make mistakes, but then

they learn from their mistakes really quick and they don't make those mistakes again. And that's what I love about these players, the young guys. As long as you are learning from mistakes, then as a coach, you get over it real quick. You're like, oh, you made a mistake, but you learned from it. Great. Let's move on. And I think that that's where Sebastian Valdez is. I thought that Natequan Jones did a really good job too, you know, helping stop the run, being a guy that was there and and and kind of locking things down. So I thought they got good play from two interior defensive linemen in this game that weren't racing, holding and weren't Oso de Gizua. And that's great because you need that depth. And I would say that Sebastian Valdez right now has outplayed guys like James Thompson, Jr., or CJ West when they were in the lineup. That's good news for the 40 years. And that's probably why every single week the run defense gets a little bit better and a little bit better. The guys who are there are playing better and the guys who they've inserted are helping as well. Plus where he morse is one heck of a run blitzer. He doesn't really good job of getting drag greenlaw, Fred Warner and others involved in helping out and they've that's really benefited this team. But yeah, I like what Valdez did in the game.

Yeah, he's look good. Look at this for 25 month member to great coach face. I love it. I love it. What's up? He says, A, appreciate you, fellas. Always happy to catch alive. Just want to say thank you for your support on Ants Channel means the world. And I don't care where you're coming from, what you're doing. If you are not supporting Ants Channel, you're doing it wrong. Everybody go over to 49ers, cut back wherever you watch and or listen. He's everywhere. He's the man. He's the man. He's the man. Now, do have to say thank you just real quick. Look at this fill. Covered in hashtag CC hashtag TCC the the cut back career. I like that. See you at the tailgate party. I freaking cannot wait. We are going to be partying up at Seattle. I fly out early Friday. We've got the great Ricky Waters come to hang out with us. So if you're going to be anywhere around Seattle, come say what's up. Get a photo with Ricky Waters, get an autograph, hang out, get a meet him, the legend himself.

We'll be from four to 9 p.m. at the press box, one block from Lumen field. And then we have all all inclusive premium tailgate starts 10 a.m. Day of the game. And man, that's going to be a good time. We'll have the TV zone. We'll be watching some stuff. All you can eat all you can drink kiddos free to everything 49ers rush road trip.com. And if you cannot make that one. So no worries. We're going to be in Atlanta. We're going to be in Dallas. We're going to be in Mexico City in Los Angeles. Details are up times are up. Maps are up for all of these locations. Just go to 49ers rush road trip.com. Come party with us. Let's have a good time. Let's go. Let's go. I want to jump over to injuries. My man bin who's always in the chat. He's the in wide 9ers. He's talking about me. Kill Williams coming back here, which I think is going to be big. I want to talk about that later. The math has finally reached a point where you're at the tipping point with injuries. So you get 53 players, but only 48 are active on game day. So you have all the healthy scratches.

Now the end. So here's the here's the issue. You have four players not on IR that are not going to be playing this week. Nick Bosa, Kyle Yuschek, James Thompson, Jr. Marquis Segal. OK. You have four healthy scratch guys that you're just trying to keep on the 53 for the future. Curtis Rork and Rique Cruz, Jordan James and Tatum Bethune. Guys that just not going to be factored into the game plan. Even if they were active, that's eight, eight minus 53. That's 45. You've got to have 48 active. You can only call up two on the practice squad, but here's where it starts to get crazy. Because if you activate McKell Williams, which I do think they will do, who do you get rid of? You have to make room on the 53 first for him. So my question to you, Ant, how does this roster gymnastics look this week? Do you just call up these guys that aren't going to help and just do special teams?

How do you see them finagling the numbers to get enough players up to play against the Seattle Seahawks this week? Yes. Like you said, it's getting more and more complicated all the time. You know, trying to figure out what they do because they have these guys that just have to sit on your 53 man roster because you can't put them on IR and then bring them back because you won't have enough spots. And so I've been wondering about that. Now, I think you're seeing some of the things they're doing at wide receiver, making sure they have a punt returner on the practice spot. Like they're doing some things at the wide receiver because they know Christian Kirk and others are coming down the line eventually they're going to have to make decisions. I don't know what they do when it comes to McKell Williams as far as who they go ahead and move on from because I'm looking at the roster and I don't want it to be a defensive end. I like the way the Augbo Ocaranco has played. I like the way that Colleague Kareem has been playing. Those guys are hustling. Those guys give effort. They are really playing hard. I don't really want to lose those guys and you don't have a guy a defensive tackle that you can do that with.

They wanted to keep James Thompson Jr. They didn't want to go that way. He's already working on a side field. He's not that far away. You can't put them on the intro reserve now. I think that in a perfect world they would have been able to move on from a safety, someone like Ashton Davis, but now that Marquis Seagulls hurt, now you can't do that. I think this is very complicated for them. I really do. I think that they've got a plan. But I don't know who that player is going to be that they are going to potentially move on from. It's going to be somebody probably a vested veteran that they think they can get to the practice squad. That way they can bring them back. But I don't know which guy that's going to be because I kind of lost track of how this thing plays out when it got so complicated. So we'll see what they do because I don't think they ever expected to have some of these guys on the active roster. Now they need some of them. Yeah, I'm with Kim bro here. I want somebody I hate saying this to get a shity hand injury on the back end, whether that's Enrique Cruz Curtis Rork, Tatum Betheu, Jordan James, like one of these guys that

you can move to IR, just not bring them back and then get that extra spot because man, like the offensive line is the one that stands out to me probably most Videri and low Connor Colby and Enrique Cruz. I get you like to have eight linemen, but you got Carver Willis in there too, who you know got that field goal blocked, but like there's somebody that you've got to make room. You can't move a wide receiver. You don't have healthy bodies. Can't move defensive tackles. Don't have healthy bodies. Can't move. Safety's don't have healthy bodies. And so it's just like good gosh Tatum Betheu maybe, which dude's going to be a starter in the NFL next year, you're going to get a comp pick for him. Like it's like dude, if you cut Tatum Betheu now, you're losing basically a six or seventh round pick given it's two years from now, but he's going to factor in that somebody's going to give him a chance. These roster gymnastics, they're only going to get harder and harder and harder, but let's

focus on just quickly the comments, right? What did me kill William say? I don't know if you saw the interview like out, we're going to find out Sunday. He is talking as if he is playing Sunday. So first question, will he be activated? And then how do you interpret? Michele Williams impact on the 49ers if he does play Sunday, which I think you will. Yeah, I think he's going to play too. I think that he's, he's been itching to play since before this season, never started. He thought he was really close and I think now he feels like he can go make an impact. You know, and John Lynch took the KBR and talked about the fact this was the number 11 overall pick. And there's a lot of things that he does. I better get impact the game and I do think that there's a lot of things that he can do to impact the game. One of those is he's going to set a firm edge in the run game. That's one thing that he does really well, but I love him rushing from the inside. I thought that last year, even when Nick Vosa went out, I thought Michele Williams helped that team and really helped the edge presence still get after the quarterback.

I mean, Bryce Huff was still having success when Michele Williams was in the lineup because he had to pay attention to him on the inside. I think it him and Keon White are going to be interesting inside. And that's why I don't want to lose a guy like Akbar Ocaronco on the outside that can rush and has that speed element. So I think he's going to make an impact. I think he's going to throw some people around. I think he's going to blow some tight ends up that they try to block him without on the edge. And I think he's going to get some tackles for loss. I'm super excited for him to get back in there because I do think he's going to make an impact. I he's still never going to be the bend the corner edge presence that some people want, but they don't need that from him. They just need him to be able to generate past rest wherever he's at. He can do that from the inside. So I like Michele Williams making impact instantly. Once he's out there on the field. Do they got Sebastian Faltes and also Diggie Zua taking in reps right now in games consistently? Like yeah, you need defensive. I get why everybody keeps asking like trade for a defensive in trade for a defensive in. I get that. But it's like, man, you're getting boasts of back eventually.

Michele Williams coming back this week. Samo who like people scoff at like, it's funny because I put those three days. I was like, these are three defensive ends. You're returning and people like make comments like, oh, Samo, and I'm like, dude, you are telling on yourself so bad that you do not watch tape. Like Samo is a he's not a top 30 top 40 top 50 defensive in. He is your ideal number three number four defensive in. And he's the number five guy for the Niners. Like, I would argue I don't know if there's a team that has a better number five defensive in than Samo that is that consistent. And dude started like half the season last year for the night. Or so like, I'm not saying Samo is like better than Clill Mac or any of those things. I'm saying you actually do have depth at the defensive in position. It's just injured right now. Broken foot and a strained calf. Those aren't necessarily long term entries. I expect Samo to be back by the by week. I expect Nick Post to be back by the by week. Ramello height took a major step up in the fourth quarter. And before we kind of start shifting more forward and talking a little bit more about

the Seahawks, Ramello height is interesting to me because his worst place are the worst place. Get pink, cake 12 yards down field, falling down without anybody blocking him, letting the quarterback escape, all those different things. But then that fourth quarter turned on. And it was a close game. His best probably seven snaps this season all came in succession in the fourth quarter versus the Broncos. And I'm like, did he finally turn a corner? So where do you land on Ramello height and what he's been able to do? And then man, did you see the switch? Because he was horrible in the first half. And then I thought like, okay, NBA jam, he's warming up. Yeah, I mean, he did he did. He's heating up. Yeah, he did like that. And it was it was really good stuff watching him, especially Gio bend the corner. That's one of the things the 49ers miss when they don't have both of them. Both of us not the best at it. But that's why they got Ramello height. They wanted a guy that could bend the corner and pressure people up field.

And you know, right now these teams are trying to take away him up the field. So they're getting a good slide. They're getting out in front of him. But I thought that he tried to threaten them in the middle or go to go inside a little bit during this game and they were just stopping him. He finally was just like, you know what? I'm just going to go for broke. I'm going to go hard around the edge. And I thought that the technique looked really good. I mean, he bent the corner flat on that one nearly got the ball. I thought that yeah, he looked really good and down the stretch. So I mean, it's very hidden miss for Ramello height. And I think that that's one of the things young players try to find his consistency. Right now I'm hoping that he'll have some splash plays that'll make up for some of the not so good plays. And then the 49ers can benefit from those. So I thought that we've seen improvement though. And this is a guy that's playing with a club on his hand. That does make things a little bit more difficult with risk control and some of the things you're trying to do to an offensive lineman. So he's got to learn to play with that. But overall, I did think that there was a switch that came on down that stretch. And I was excited about it. If you look at the tweets on Twitter, it starts with Ramello heights the worst one of the worst draft picks in the history of the 49ers.

And then by the end, they're like, you know, Ramello height, he's not so bad. He's doing all right. So that always is a good signal as well that, hey, he's showing some things on film. It's hard to watch him. It's hard to watch him. There's a lot of just like what are you doing, man? But had like three wins in the fourth quarter against Garrett Bulls, that does not happen consistently. Look at this. Joe, the man, we asked him to put words to action. He goes over and he subscribes a new member over on the cut back. I love it. I love it. I love it. You are the freaking man. Now, one of my favorite bets, dude. I am pretty pumped about this Thursday night game. You got the Cowboys first, the books, the books have like nothing. It's a huge spread. Nine plus points. The Cowboys are favorite. I think the Cowboys are playing some decent football defense is still a mess. I did an alternative line. Cowboys minus seven and a half points for tonight. I'm going to include Dallas and some teasers as well. We post our bets every week. We haven't had a losing week yet.

I'm in California. I use it. I use it in Texas. Let's go. I'm going to go to the bookie.ag promo code 49ers. All right, let's look at this. Reese has got a comment that I'm going to jump to the Seattle sea ox. But I think that this, you know, is worth it. He says, John Ant out of the O and four teams in the league, who could be an option at defensive end or wide receiver to pick up that makes sense. So let's go over the O and four teams. You have the chargers, you have the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans, Miami dolphins, and then the Tampa Bay Bucks who play tonight. So those are the five. Now you always want to look out of the conference first. That's a little bit more likely than you want to try to find teams that are going to be

completely done with the season. Houston is a little bit of full gold at O and four because their defense is still so good. They've got a cost controlled quarterback like Ed, that division's not the best. Like I don't think they're out of it. Tennessee is fighting for the first overall pick. Miami's fighting for the first overall pick. The coaches John Harbor, Harbor will never quit even if he's 0 and 16. And then the Tampa Bay Bucks. So Ant, what do you make of the O and four teams? And is there anybody that kind of jumps off to you? Me and Larry talked about, dude, I love Chris Godwin. He's got this year next year on his deal. That's, I mean, you just brought over Mike Evans. I don't know. Does Chris Godwin make sense or anybody else stand out to you? I think wide receiver doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me with the 49ers only because of what they have on the injured reserve. Christian Kirk is probably a week away potentially from coming back to Marcus Robinson starting to work on a side field, which means he's getting close and as soon as he is IR, Stint is over

he'll be back. And then they're going to have to make roster decisions on guys like Jacob Cowling and Jordan Watkins. So I'm not sure that they're going to ultimately bring a new wide receiver in. I think when it comes to defensive line, I think that's where the conversation really starts and that's where they've spent most of the draft capital draft capital through the years, guys like Charles of Menohu and guys like that that they can bring in to make an impact on this defensive line. I think it's also the easier of the transitions that the question is going to be like you said, who is going to be willing to trade? I'm with you. I don't think Houston is. In fact, the Mico Ryan is taking over defensive play, calling duties. They think that they can turn that thing around a little bit. I think with the chargers, I think that there probably is a realistic chance that Khalil Mack is available mainly because Khalil Mack will probably want an opportunity to go and win a championship or play for a contender. This could be his last season in the NFL. So I think guys like that do make sense. But I think right now everyone's going to wait a little bit longer. I think that this thing's going to play out over the next couple of weeks as you know,

if the chargers go O and 5, O and 6, I think it's, yeah, it's definitely going to happen where Khalil Mack is going to get moved. The players I like the most are on the Houston Texans. And I don't think those guys are going to be available. So we'll see how it goes. But I think wide receiver, I wouldn't think that something's going to happen there. But in interior defensive line or defensive end, I do think if there's a market that develops and the four years can get somebody, especially if they don't have to break the bank, I think they will. Yeah. And like I get these questions like, oh, go get JJ White, go get Jeffrey, Jeffrey Simmons would cost three first rounders plus like in the money and like, no, I don't even think that's anybody who trades Jeff, he is the franchise stalwart. They don't have like, they're going to replace their quarterback. Like there, I don't think Kim Ward, I don't know, I don't think Robert Sala, like it might be the end of both those guys, at least in Tennessee land. So and I hate to say this. I love hate watching more than anything like watching the Seahawks lose or the Rams lose

or the Cowboys loses. Awesome. I saw the comments like can't bet on the Cowboys. Because I get it, money's money to me. I can't bet against the Niners. I've never done that before in my life, even if I know it's a short thing, but I'll take money and I want Tampa Bay to lose. Like I think it's the 40-dye's best interest if the Cowboys win tonight. So I could justify that. Some mental gymnastics there. I hate the Cowboys too, but like I think it helps the 49ers if the bucks lose personally. Yeah. And do like what do you think it would cost to get Jeffrey Simmons? Chris says he isn't costing three first rounders. He's the second best defense attack on the NFL, I would say. Yeah, I think he's off limits, actually. They just sign into that new big deal. I don't think they want to move on from him. So I don't think that there's a, it's going to take something to blow them out of the water. Maybe it would be two first round picks. I don't know. I mean, the guys probably going to want, you know, or the Titans are going to want a lot for him. Because I think he's their best player on the entire team. He's their best player. So you try to win the best player. You're going to get a lot for him. Tampa, you say Chris Godblend. Do you think that Vivaea? I know a lot of people are talking about that contract is Vivaea somebody to me.

He makes the most sense for the 40 years. I just don't know if they would trade him after reupping his deal. I mean, he's on the side of the stadium. Like you know what I mean? Like, yeah. And that plays a role because they lost so much to keep Bruce Aryan, or not Bruce Aryan. Sorry. Help me out with their coaches name. I see his face. Todd Bowles. Yeah. Like they, they, they lost Mike Evans for that. Like you, you lost, Shaquille Barrett quit. They're stud linebacker quit. Like they lost everything. And now you sign Baker, but he's injured. Anton Winfield Jr. is not playing. It's like, who do you, if you're a fan who you come to see it? I've been to the books two out of the last three seasons at Raymond James Stadium. You see Vivaea jerseys. Like for the owners and general managers to make these decisions. Dude, who are fans coming to see? Right now it's Vivaea. And I think they want to keep them. It's a two year till if they're open to trading them, hell yes. Hell yeah.

I think defense attackers are bigger need the defensive end for the 49ers. I do because I don't think you're getting much return coming back at the defensive in spot. I mean, at the defensive tackle spot defensive in spot, you are. So like, yeah, I don't know. I would love Vivaea and I think defensive tackle. I care more about that than I do wide receiver than I do defensive end. I think that that is a bigger long term need. That's just me. That's just me. Now let's transition. Let's start looking at Seattle. Let's talk 49ers offense for Seattle's defense. They played two out of the last three matchups last year. 49ers offense had to combine nine points in those two games failing to reach 250 total yards in either game. Not that you can fix it all. But what are some of the things you're looking for for the 49ers offensive coach approach to the Seattle Seahawks? Yeah, I think it's establishing a run game. You know, I mean, the one thing Seattle likes to do against the 49ers is get Nick him and

worry out there on the field and play that nickel package. You've got to be able to take advantage when you have your biggs in the game. And you know, last year, they weren't able to do that with Luke Farrell and Kyle use check and consistently get some some movement up front. And I think that they're a little bit better this year when it comes to run blocking and some of the design has been pretty good. But they are going to take a hit with that with Kyle use check. So that's going to change it up a little bit. Maybe it'll throw Mike McDonald loss a little bit the scent of what the 49ers are actually going to do. But I do think that that's one thing they have to do is establish a run game. They got to attack Nick him and worry in the run game. They've got to make them feel uncomfortable being in the nickel package because they're just going to sit in that too high shell. You know, of course, we both know they're going to change it as the snap happens, right? Post snap is going to change a little bit. One of those safeties is coming into the box a little bit or at least a few yards. And they just got to make them they got to make them cover everything. And I think that if they have to get out of that too high shell and get out of that nickel package, I think that's when the 49ers are really start having some success with some play action. And I think some of it's going to come after getting after Nick and worry.

So Luke Farrell has been blocking so good this year. This has been the one of the biggest things has happened to this 49ers team that I think kind of flies under the radar. Luke Farrell needs to get on him and worry. Some of the men George Kiddled need to make it personal this week. And I think if they do, then I think the 49ers will have more success on offense. Man Luke Farrell has been such a revelation this year compared to last year. Like I won't be shocked if he gets extended like soon. Like I would not be shocked. He's been that good. And you know, he's consistently been good for back to back years on special teams. Now you're finally getting the dividends and living up to the contract. I would argue that through the first month of the season Luke Farrell has lived past his contract, which is crazy. He was like the most hated 49ers player. And you know, whatever he got asked to fill it as tight in one, it was just too much for him. It was too much. And you go ahead and you extend Jake Tonjes and then he gets injured.

But Luke Farrell's been awesome. He really, really has. Oh, speaking of awesome Rob louder, the striking gold podcast says the coach approach hat tip is undefeated as well. That is all thank you man. Hat tip right back to everybody go check out the striking gold podcast. Freak it's stud Rob louder. You stud out there working with the kiddos just doing everything. He's the best. You know, it's funny because whenever I asked you about what the 49ers offense need to do, I run the ball very obvious. Convert on first downs, which that was what killed the 49ers offense last week in the first half. CMC and Kaelin black on second down just getting tackled a yard to two yards before the sticks. Gotta finish better. And man, there were probably three or four explosives just left on the field because you barely miss one blocker. You didn't break a tackle. That game 49ers easily could have put up 30 plus. If just a couple plays like that kiddo play was not the anomaly. The anomaly was man, there were so many other players plays ready to break just barely

missed it. So she had a hand scheming it up. Now I want Nikki Montwary to have a target on his back. I want to make him cover. I want to isolate matchups against I know they do zone predominantly, but I want him choosing between George Kittle and Krishmickafer out there. I want them running the ball at him. I want them throwing the ball around them. All those things. I know he's a freak and I know I only played like four plays in week one when the 90s beat them at Seattle last year. But he could be had. I don't think he's 100% coming back from that injury. So I kind of want to target him like a dude. It might be kind of crazy, but I want you going after this dude and making him work his tail end off because I think they're going to be in 12 personnel. A lot one back two tight ends, force them in that nickel in that situation. And let's run the ball. Let's see what happens there. I love that. Now flip the switch. Let's go to 49ers defense against the same Donald lead. Seahawks offense. Probably JS N lead is more appropriate.

What do you want to see with Raheem Morris? What's the schematic tendencies or game plan? How do we want this to shake out? Makes Sam Darnal feel uncomfortable. I mean, bring the heat on Sam Darnal. I've seen him make some really bad throws. You go back and you watch last week and I don't even know what he's looking at. I mean, he made some really bad throws. And you know, the same thing with the commander's game. You know, I mean, they were struggling with that offense. That offense has been inconsistent at best. And I know they're scoring a lot of points. You know, over 26 points per game. That's great. It's a lot of short fields. That defense has got eight turnovers for them so far this season. The special teams has helped as well. They've been able to get some short fields and then capitalize on those. So Bravo to them. But I don't think their offense has looked very comfortable. It's JSN. It's the tight ends. Those are the guys who are making all the plays. Now they're going to be without Jadari and Price. I wonder if this running game for Seattle can actually get going. If it doesn't, I think where he more is going to be able to dial some things up on 38,

39 and Sam Darlal is going to be more of a sitting duck in the pocket than Poe Nix was last week. And I know he's mobile and I know he can move. But he's a little bit different when it comes to scrambling. He doesn't like to do it unless he has to. So he's terrible against the blitz this season. I think they need to go after him. I think they need to put a lot of pressure. Five man pressures. Get after Sam Darlal to make him feel uncomfortable in the pocket. I'm not even against on third and eight, third and 10 bringing six man pressures. And just, hey, make him make a quick decision. I think that that would really benefit the 49ers. And you go back and you look at that week 18 game. Seattle's offense wasn't great in that game either. The 49ers defense actually played pretty well against them. So I think that that's something that we'll carry over. And where he more to me is taking this defense a whole other level than what it was last year under Robert Sala. Yeah. I mean, I'm with Paul. Shout out to some of him. I hope Seattle week man, I hate to see Hawks. I hate him too. It was weird because for me, I've hated to see Hawks more than the Rams for a long time. And like I kind of found myself in the NFC championship game last year.

Like I didn't know I felt this way, but as the game played out, like I was hoping to see out on see Hawks would win more so than the Rams not hoping anybody would win. But like I wanted the Rams to lose more. I don't know. Who do you hate more? Do you hate the Rams more of the see Hawks more? I think it's been stretches. You know, I think that during the late 80s and that stretch, I really didn't like the Rams during the Harball days. I couldn't stand the see Hawks. Like they were so annoying at the time. I dislike both of them. Yeah, I really do. I mean, I'm kind of like Christian McCaffrey. I hope both teams lose like whenever they play each other. I'm just, I'm not a fan. I do when it comes to the rivalries, I'm just like upset with them. Same way I'm with the Cowboys in the New York Giants too. I just, I can't stand them. I hope they always lose. But I would say probably right now I probably have a little bit more hatred for the Rams, I would say just because of all the 17 in O talk and everything that was going on with that. But for the most part, I mean, I usually Seattle.

I just, I just like said, I used to dislike Russell Wilson. So that little troll, that little troll, Sonia, appreciate you. Who is on JSN? Dimo, this is like the new NFL. There are some heavy man teams that do like, hey, we're putting this player on this player. The Niners are not that team. Dimo goes to the wide side of the field and they run zone almost predominantly like maybe like less than 8% man coverage. So like because of that, you don't have this isn't the 80s, 90s with the real green following around Jerry Rice on every single play. You don't necessarily just put Dimo on a player and then JSN will come out of the slot. Remember when they drafted him, he was a slot player only now he's kind of evolved into this true X wide receiver. He wasn't that for the first two years. But like, and so like you get these questions from Joseph, like shut down Jackson Smith and Jigba, you're not going to do that. You can't shut them down.

And today's NFL zone concept system, what I do want them to do is roll cover two to their side where you always have a safety over the top to the JS inside. Now they can shift and double motion and get out of that and check and all that stuff against the zone heavy team. But I don't have problems with word auto green on JS and I don't have problems with up to stout on Jason and I sure don't have problems about the armadur or nor and even Jack Jones if he plays like our corners, the 49ers corners are solid. I just want safety help on top. I don't want to run quarters to JS inside where he has the underneath wide open all freaking game and he just hits those comebacks and quick outs and whip routes. He will eat our lunch and he's going to get his like JS and their entire offense goes through him because it's so zone heavy. I don't know like what do you see like shutting down wide receivers when they only have one clear option when you're a zone heavy team like Raheem Morris and the 49ers.

Well, I think you have two options. I think number one, you can pay a lot of attention to him the way they did like a tight in like Trayn McBride, you know, bracket coverage. So you could like you said, roll coverage over the top. The guy could play a little bit more physical underneath and then you know that he's got help. So he doesn't have to worry about taking a chance underneath and getting beat with a double move. I think that there's that or you can play your normal defense and just know that that guy's going to get his, but you're going to make sure that nobody else does anything. And so at some point, right, you're not going to be able to convert. I think that's one of the problems with Seattle. They are not good on third down as a third down offense. They don't convert consistently. And so this is an area where I think the 49ers, they believe that Seattle can't consistently move down the field as the game goes on long drives like Arizona was able to get can Seattle do that. They just haven't been good enough so far. They don't run the ball consistently enough to have a third in short situation. I think that they probably are going to do a mixture of both. I think in certain situations, they're going to look to take away JSN and put coverage over

the top and give him extra attention. And then I think at other times, they're going to let this play out with normal defense. And like you said, we're not a green no coverum, up to the Seattle coverum, DeMo, whoever it's supposed to be. And I think they'll feel just comfortable sitting in their zone and hoping that they can influence Sam Donald to make an air and throw. And that's just what they're going to go with. So I think it's going to be a mixture of things where he more is just been like that all year. It's been mixed your you can't get an idea of exactly what he's doing because he just changes it up. And that's what drives offensive coordinators crazy. And I'm guessing Couch and it's probably going to know what Brian Flurry likes to do. I was going to have an idea of what his tendencies are. It's not shocking that the tight ends are more involved in their game plans every single week, considering who he used to coach. Yeah, man, tight end coaches. I felt like offensively, they were always the most evolved and most perplexing as a defensive coordinator. Because they just have a complete understanding of everything past run game, all those things. The tight end coaches, man, I used to tell people like if you can't coach quarterbacks,

you should be coaching tight ends or offensive line if you're an offensive coach. Like that's what you should not that receiver coaches or running back coaches are awesome. It's just you don't get a holistic view. You just don't get it. But when you're coaching offensive line or your coaching tight ends, man, you're going to learn. I'm going to learn. Stefan, look at this. Appreciate it. Super chat. I don't like to discriminate. I hate the Rams and Seahawks equally to the max. I hate hate. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Oh, I am with you. I am with you there. They just I take turns and hate them both. And look at this comment from GM. You got to remember last year Garrett, Wallow and Eric Kendrick were the linebackers. Now you got Fred Warner and Drake Greenlaw. You got George Kittle didn't have. Fred Warner didn't have Drake Greenlaw didn't have. Mike Evans didn't have Debo didn't have. Also Diggy Zua didn't have him. Michelle Williams didn't have. Is that going to be enough? We will see. And any closing thoughts notes that we didn't get to before we jump out of here.

Yeah, this is going to be a dog fight. You know what I mean? That's a, I mean, just get ready for it. Don't get stuck in the rollercoaster ride. The ebbs and flows of the game. It's going to be up and down. But when it, you know, when it's all said and done, this 49ers team is better than they were last year. They've got to drop the bottom roster wise coaching wise. Jerry Gray, you know, the secondary's played so much better. For now, it's the best against explosives in the NFL. I think if they have, if they make Seattle consistently go down the field on offense, that they're going to stall out some and 49ers were so good last week of making the Broncos stall out before they ever got to the red zone. And I think one of the big things that I'm taking away from this game, I talk about red zone every single week. 49ers red zone offense against the Seattle Seox red zone defense. If the 49ers can get to the red zone. And that's a, that's a big if I mean, the only Seattle only gives up conversions on third down at 28%. But if you can get there, I think the 49ers have a real advantage in the red zone. I think they'll score touchdowns and touchdowns the field goals. We've been talking about this for four weeks now. 49ers do that. They're going to walk out of Seattle with a big win and have a stranglehold on the NFC

West. God, you win this game. You got a two and a half game lead, two and a half game lead in your division over the Rams and Seattle Seahawks, which you already would have had victories at LA, even though it was in Melbourne and at Seattle. Yeah, you got to play them both again, but it's going to be in Santa Clara with that 5 and 0 3 and 0 division lead. Oh my gosh. Now you lose this game. You're no longer even in first place. Seattle wins on tie breakers. Then it's claw time. Yeah, like every game matters. If you want the buffer, I mean, both Seattle and the 49ers have crazy tough schedules. The rest of the season. Get this victory. A little bit of sigh of relief. You know what I mean? Like a 5 and 0 and wins over all three of your division opponents already. Whoo. I don't think the Niners need any motivation and it is kind of funny. Like not one of my least favorite, but any game that's just not like a clear deciding

victory or you know, it's going to be close. I get like, is this trap game trap game trap game trap game maybe? Maybe this is a trap game. Ain't nobody saying that this week. Like this is personal. I hate your guts. I hope bad things happen to everybody. Like we are coming for blood. And you saw that with Drake Green law last week against Denver, just willing himself to just freaking mortal combat standards. I think that's going to elevate the play of everybody around him. Like play like Dre. That should be the motto everybody this week. Play like Dre. I want personal foul penalties. I want I want them. Like I if you give me a personal foul penalty because you knocked the, you know, demo just head button JSN take it. I'm not saying get on purpose. I'm saying bully the hell out of this team. That's what it needs to be. Oh, can't wait to be there. It's not going to be that I want to wear my 90s starter jacket.

I'm in my fashion choices. I'm packing today. And I want the 90s pull over, but it's going to be like 60 degrees outside. And I'm like, dude, I'm going to be sweating bullets. I can't do it. My two jerseys I got picked out the borrow pull man. I have to wear to Seattle because they screwed that dude over that wear my Drake Green law, the hawkslayer. Ah, this game matters. I'm totally like I'm in it. I'm ready to go. And if I'm ready to go, they sure as hell better be ready to go. Anyway, you are the absolute best.
