I'm gonna give it a try. Be the right club today. That's better than most. How about in? That is better than most. Better than most. Expect anything different. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No-Lang Up Live show presented as always by our friends at Titleist. I am Sully joined by a recovered, fully recovered DJ Pi. Hello, Pi man. On my way, on my way, this whatever bug I have, man, beat me like eight and seven. I was gonna go down to the presence cup today, woke up this morning was like, no, no chance. But I'm gonna be excited to be there for what I hope is a historic day tomorrow.
Great to be with you, Sully. And back with us for the first time this week. He's been waiting in the bullpen like Christian Bizzadenholt. Mr. Big Randy. Hello, big how are you? Oh, boys. If I was any better, they'd be hauling me off to jail right now. A little bit of a jump scare seeing my face so big on the screen. So apologies to the viewers here. Tell all of us feel all the time. You're the hot taller you, though. That's huge. But it's great to be here. Enjoyed the G today. D, you gotta get with an earshot of this win one for the Gipper speech. That may or may not be going tomorrow. I'm so glad that I have a good amount of time to wiggle my way in there. 15, 20 minute speech. I think we can. Yeah, I was interested. We will get there. We're going to go quick react to the day Saturday at the president's cup. We're going to hear from big. Just overall reaction to the week so far. I haven't heard from him. We'll break down morning four ball matches. Of course, the afternoon for some.
We'll probably have the singles matches out. We got some hamster damn takes in there. You know, we got it. We got it all here. The first couple of segments here, though, are going to be brought to you. Add free by title is the most played driver on the PGA tour in the most played driver this week at Medina. Big where we at where we at with the 2026 president's cup big picture with the big story in your mind. And have you been enjoying it so far? Yeah, okay. Let's start with the last one. I did enjoy it. Listen, I'm not going to lie to folks. I. You know, didn't catch a ton of live coverage Thursday Friday. Had some family stuff. We were flying back late yesterday evening. So let me get that out of the way today. Honestly watched all. I don't know. I felt like 29 hours of coverage. I know it wasn't that long, but it was on the couch was locked in. And I was really curious. The international team coming in with the lead today in an unlikely spot.
How would they respond? And. I was really impressed with the metal. I thought I thought the international. You know, set themselves up. Did what they had to today. To experience glory. Perhaps tomorrow. I think it sets up a really fun Sunday where the team USA has to be in a real chase position. We haven't seen that. You know, we hardly ever see that in this event. And so it just gives it a little juice. You know, I like seeing some of the new faces. I like to see it. I like seeing Jackson Coivan. I like seeing Chris Goddard up. Didn't like seeing some of the stale faces. We can get into all that. But my other big takeaway. I thought Medina was lovely. I really enjoyed watching the golf course, watching the guys hit shots all around the golf course. I especially loved, you know, when NBC would show us how dramatic some of the slopes are around the greens. I. You know, when it gets flat from the tower view, it really washes those out.
But man, there were some really interesting run offs that the long par threes on the back. I just found that the golf course engaging, which necessitated, you know, interesting shots, which helped my attention. I think as far as presidents cups go. Sign me up for this one. I'm struggling to remember one. I, you know, the bar is low. But I'm more into this one. And perhaps it's because I took a couple of days off on the front end. You're well rested. Yeah. But but I really am interested to see what happens tomorrow. I think we have a fascinating Sunday on our hands. Yeah, I think there's a gosh, first I just maybe shut down the pod. Big bottom line it on everything. That's all I told it. I love it. I was expecting it. I was expecting it. I was expecting it. No gasoline on this US fire. Really? It was all, you know, I thought we were going to burn this thing down tonight. That's that's kind of what I was going to say. So I'll start there. And you know, when you're, you're going to go on vacation and you look at the weather forecast.
And it just looks like perfect. You're like, man, we got such a good week ahead of us. That's how I feel with the takes right now. It's just like, man, it is. It's stacked up. We've got this next year is going to be so fucking great. Like we can just, we can talk right or cup. We can talk what's wrong with America. Scotty Shepler, should he have sat? I mean, it's just, it's just 10 out of 10 from a American shot and Florida situation. So, so there is that. I think there's, it's very easy. I'm thankful very often. I'm a victim of this very often of the narrative. You know, and the narrative is like is the president's cup good or bad? Is the international's need to win or lose? Do the Americans competent or not competent? You know, blah, blah, blah. If you, I think I did a good bit of suspending a lot of that this week. And just kind of enjoying the golf and the golf's been really good. This morning, especially was like as fun of a team session of golf as I've watched in years. Like it was, it was really, really, really great, man.
Just haymakers from both teams, big shots and big moments, great holes, risk reward. But Diana has just a million do or die moments. It just make every match interesting. I mean, I, I know that's like the number one kind of talking point this week. But I just can't count how many times today where you'd see like the Ryan Fox shot just bounding down 70 yards away from the greenie just missed. You're like, this is Medina. That balls rolling back to his feet. That's Medina. That's nuts. And it's just, I'm, I'm giddy, man. It's just been a great, great week. I heard the words lay up pitch because of, you know, the slope. They couldn't possibly get it too close to the, you know, they couldn't get it close to the green. Yeah, exactly. Like, give me, give me that. That's what, that's what makes this interesting, like start from there. And then we're going to see, yeah, the golf has to be interesting if you start with an interesting venue. And then you throw in like the Washington generals might win.
And then you just like, give me to the first team tomorrow. I can't wait. This is amazing. I'll say this too. I mean, they did a great job, especially with the four ball setup this morning in particular, those par threes on the back nine. We're like, hey, one of you make a par and you got a shot here. It was like, you know, the most boring version of four ball is like, yeah, you both hit the soft green. And there's kind of some long puts and maybe one guy out of four will make one. But like when you are like, maybe one of you guys can launch a ball high enough in the air to hold this green. And if you do go a little bit long to the back left whole location on 13, like Jackson quibb and did it goes all the way down the slope. You know, and watching him and JT try to figure out how to get it close to that front pin and make the mistake on 16 to that front pin because of how precise they had to be and how firm that green was and how hard that and demanding that shot was was like credit to the tour. For that one, we're going to we're going to poke at the tour for a couple of the things a little later. I'm sure, but they have done a great job.
Be aggressive with pins. There was a lot of degreening today. They do a little better with the camera angles, bringing these slopes alive, I think, because it is really, really, really dramatic on some of these greens and it is meeting that it's meeting the, you know, the, the rubber is meeting the road here is in terms of match play test for these guys creating an interesting scenario. So I think it was I think it was 13 with the Coivan match this morning, where it was just four different balls and was like, man, you know, far away those four balls are from each other. You know, like that never happens. It's always like, well, there's clearly a safe spot to just miss over here. Some of those part of the reason we're just like hang on for for dear life, man. And you got to navigate what what's going to happen on the ground and what's going to happen with that first bounce and I kept getting the firmness kind of ended up becoming a little bit of a story. I mean, especially like you saw Russ Henley's drive on 17 in the afternoon, it just like took off like it hit a tarmac. I don't know where the asked the 1400 asked captains were about maybe like, hey, the courses firmen up.
But neither here nor there. It's yeah, I don't know, solid million directions we can go lots of lots of fun stuff to talk about. Let me just throw in one more, which I know we'll get to, but something top of mind for me is the international sending five guys out for all four sessions already. You know, it kind of reminds me of Formula one where you're trying to do the math. Will they have enough gas? Do are the tires going to hold up? You know, I think on a golf course like Medina where you really have to be locked in. It's demanding. I think that could be, you know, the stamina both physically, mentally, it could be a factor tomorrow, which again, just just toss that on the pile of things that are interesting and could be a potential storyline tomorrow, which is where I think we usually see play out like there's a big international surge. And then the US depth kind of just wears them down and wears them down and they kind of had a chance to do that in both sessions today and just didn't, you know, like they had a US could have could have taken advantage of that fatigue or lack of depth or whatever.
And just didn't they didn't get the eight points that they looked like they should have gotten you know ended up getting much less and they find themselves trailing by three going into into singles. I think trailing going to singles for the first time since 2019, which was the the vaunted Royal Melbourne year, first time leading going into singles on American soil ever. I think the US has only lost singles three times in the history of this event, but they've never like it never gets like crazy crazy to op sided in singles. I got a double check this I know there's been some eight fours, but it's usually like a six six seven five like it's usually pretty close. So I think we're in for a really, really, really good day tomorrow. It as it stands now, the international's are minus 120 to win US plus 165 with a tie possibility at plus 700. So and then data golf has the international why the international is at least favored at this boy. I thought they might not be so they improved their odds today.
They were 52% I'm sorry 54% to start the day they ended at 58. It did flip mid afternoon when there's a lot of red on the board in foursums that the US was I think as high as 58% and then the the Henley bridgeman match that they that they choked away was the flip to put it back into international. I mean, the nationals are five points away from one of this thing and you know, you go five and seven in singles tomorrow. And there's some guys on the US side you can kind of target in this for again with this unique format of you can pick essentially who you're putting up some of these guys up against. There's a few guys you can target with some of your best players and essentially not guarantee of course, give yourself some pretty nice advantages in singles and find a way to get five points. I said last night, I think the international's do get it done and I maintain that. I think they are going to win this president's cup, which is going to be glorious. Like it's going to glorious and free.
It's truly I know we can maybe save some of this for if and when that happens, but. So I just love for you to connect for me the listener connect the hot how did we get here from Tuesday they shouldn't even play this because it's so embarrassing. I shouldn't even show up. It's humiliating that they're making them play this event. One podcast or I said saw that they should play two on one. It's just help me get from there to like obviously I think they're going to win what what what I don't think it's obviously. I don't think it's obviously I think it's it's the US could still win this, which would be worst case scenario because I think it would be like we want we got this we're fine. Let's keep doing it the way we're doing it. But we got here. I mean through one of the worst collapses I can recall the and it says a lot for what this US team has done here over the last competitive race. Yeah, we're doing this. Yeah. Worst collapses imaginable here over the last two days. I mean they were up three to two. They have the much better team like on you know when it comes to rider cups US versus Europe they usually have the advantage on paper, but it's pretty close and like there's enough evidence to say Europe should be favorite in these things now based on how they put it all together.
There was no evidence pointing to the international's pulling this off and making this happen or the US team performing this poorly in big moments. I think we when we look back we are there's some nitpicking we can do a sneds. He admitted to making some mistakes in a post round interview here today didn't say exactly what they were but I mean at all time bedsheeting in four sums they went two and six in four sums in the two sessions. They are now eight and twenty six in their the last four team events in four sums so it's four sums whatever you want to. It's not good. It's not good. Just in like is he good. I doesn't seem to be doing very well. It is not exuding a lot of confidence. Yeah, yeah, and I don't this isn't the format that gets you super wipe like the rider cup version of Europe super early Friday and Saturday is exhausting but like you get to sleep in both Thursday and Friday.
This is the only early day. I don't know what you're doing. Be in this way. I know it's a busy week but you got to exude some kind of. I don't know positive energy from that spot and it just doesn't seem to be happy but also like what surround yourself with Gary Woodland and Keegan and just like a bunch of dudes that don't know how to win this thing like what were you expecting to happen there but no change your question. I thought the talent gap was big enough that it really didn't matter if they got all the team stuff right and I thought they would overwhelm them. I thought Scotty could show up as a zombie and still win matches against players that you know are even close to the same caliber of him and that was wrong. That was most certainly a wrong prediction there that I'm not even upset about having because I just I know last year was bad at the rider cup but I just did not know we could reach a level of humiliation this deep. But which again I'll put my hand up and get way out in front it's not like I was predicting them to win or anything like that I was I was very much happy making jokes about how well I've cited this event is and whatever as well.
The fact that the international have. Have gotten their guys like playing this good and again it's what we say about Europe how do they get that out of Bob McIntyre how do they get that out of what like it's the same thing here how are they getting these guys to jail this way how are they getting all of these other things. And then you do that with an event that is kind of like this made up cash grab and an event where again a bunch of the guys don't speak the same language and an event where like they just have all these like disadvantages and you still get them playing like that is just a massive credit to you know we've we've shouted it out every year and we'll shout it out against tomorrow win or lose but the the stuff. The stuff Ernie L's put into place Trevor put into place Jeff Oglefee's clearly like continuing this this continuity and kind of lineage and like hey if we're going to do this thing let's fucking do it like let's let's treat it like a real thing let's build like a culture let's let's make it like each year leads to the next. And in my I think in the back of my head I was like yeah I mean keep trying man but like I don't think it's going to work but it's cool that you're that you're giving an effort and then you see it like this you're just like dude I don't know what else it is other than that I don't know what what else you you give credit to imagine
Imagine being the US side and having this happen from Europe yeah and the internationals and it being laid out right for you kids who are still can't figure out how to do it let's still can't do it not even in the ballpark of figuring out exactly what you just described what the international has set up and national team has set up so it's not the reds takes over this. Where are we the brewers why do you have any of the euros yeah why isn't he me say the brewers I know man I can't help but think like a loss by the US team and maybe an embarrassing loss I mean I think any loss will be somewhat embarrassing but if they kind of get you know if they lose I don't know 17 and a half 12 and a half let's say tomorrow like is that rock bottom solid will that necessitate some real legitimate change because that's I feel like that has to come into play and I'm almost weirdly rooting for that you know like I don't know what else is going to be a catalyst like yo we got to make some changes here.
This is the part where the constant annual cycle of this for the US hurts them of like the writer cup cycle has already started they've already you know they have a captain they've named assistant captains they have stats guys in place like it you know Jim Fiery is an assistant captain on this team so it's not like you can't learn from this but already wheels are too far in motion to the point where I'm like oh do I think like Justin Leonard who's an incoming assistant captain on the next team is I think that's what I'm going to do. That's like part of the solution absolutely not like not even like it's more of the same mistakes over and over again so they you know it to your point I wish I wish the timelines worked out better that they could do these full resets with the with the time you know they should have done it after best pages well though I mean they they didn't learn the lesson then so I'm not positive like I said this last night they could lose this and I'm still not positive they will like wave the white flag and declared that they need some help in doing this because it is just
generation upon generation of people that have lost these events and that keep keep getting to run them and I I'm done I know I'm done picking them for Iter cups I didn't know I had to start considering the president's cup that's all we've gotten man which is so crazy sorry to draw the comparison door beloved reds which we're joking about but yeah when you just lose faith altogether in the leadership in the decision makers like I did it. That's that's the worst that's that's the worst place to be as a fan which is where I was I was talking you guys about this a little bit before we started to and it's I don't know that to get to a far field here but the US is in such a weird spot with this particular event because I think you feel it on social media or just in our podcast or whatever like I just don't know why you would watch this and root for the US.
And I don't mean that is like some anti-patriotic very patriotic guy big love go but like being patriotic I feel he's going to like a national park or going to you know I don't know watching baseball like do lots of lots of things. I don't feel patriotic watching like the PGA tour say that this is you know this is what team you are saying. Like that is guys I think this is a made up thing. I'm like I just want to sing Tavy out to the ball game man. Yeah you're not going to get me into rooting for these guys. But I think like the counterweight to that is the euros and the international's both are just like man wouldn't be great to go beat those fucking guys. Right you know like that's such an easy such an easy target and I just I'm like at my wits end a little bit on like if I was the czar of team USA which there is no czar of team USA probably part of the problem. I would just struggle with like man I don't know what I don't know what you do it's just kind of a it's just a really weird spot right now.
I don't know how you can possibly be like hey guys can you can you care more please can anybody can you care more I'd. Short of just like humiliation tactics of just like great we're not going to we're going to do the US hockey we're just going to bring college players next time and get our ass kicked. I mean I think again I think it would be a if I would if I was named czar tomorrow I think I would it would be a multiple year long process of I would contact Steve Kerr I would contact coach K I would learn philosophy here like you've taken teams. That go do they all these players that go do something else every other day of the year. Completely different process and you've made them buy in and care about team USA basketball when they're there and they did that through getting the absolute 100% commitment and energy and role play of Kobe LeBron like all of these superstar mega star players that like when Kobe was out there guarding Leandra Barbosa and.
And diving on the floor for loose balls and giving 100% effort on defense your damn right Carmelo Anthony's going to go play his role like it's really easy to fall in line when you've got superstar players. Bringing the energy and being leaders being almost playing captains and that's that's what I just feel like is missing because I got has to be you got to go and it might take a year worth of meetings and time spent but you've got to make Scottie care to that level which he clearly does not like and that's unfair probably that's not. That's unfair probably this point to put that on Scotty because there's no one drawing that out of them there's no one like Branson occur all week has just talked about making sure the guys are comfortable and they're the best players in the world I just got to stay out of their way they're. And they're great guys and you're super proud of them like that's decidedly not it this tournament is different these tournaments are different you have to start treating them differently or shit like this is going to happen and look you can point to the presence cup record and say like all this is pretty convenient you're saying this now they're. About to be like they're 13 one and one in this event like whatever but they're playing a massively inferior opponent that's getting worse like the talent gap is getting wider and wider and you just I don't know how you can get much lower than this point and I don't I still no matter how clear it becomes you ever hear anyone talking about.
The things that I just laid out and if you guys disagree with that if anybody disagrees with that I'd like to hear the counter to that I'd like to just hear no it's just about it's just about the golf man like they just got to play better like I think we do hear that counter a lot. Yeah, I made a lot of plots man. I'll tell you and I'll say just to put a bow on that point with USA basketball I you know the 2004 Summer Olympics I believe was like the disaster Olympics that you need a real embarrassing like you need a true rock bottom and you have to you have to lose the rider cup at home or something like that. And your fans would have to be a disgrace and it would have to be really something that would never happen. But yeah, the problem is you have two different organizations running these two different so there's that which is a massive problem but I do think like I said getting kind of embarrassed by the international this week might be that catalyst or it might not be but it's a chance.
Interesting. Yeah, either way I'll be here I'll be watching and I'll be drinking because no matter the forecast you could live like the sun's always out with high noon high noon is made with real vodka real tequila unlike other popular Seltzer and hard tea brands delivering a clean finish and refreshing taste high noon is available in vodka Seltzer tequila Seltzer and non carbonated vodka iced tea all under 100 calories and with crisp delicious flavors for every occasion under the sun. What do you wait for texture friends make some plans pick up a pack of high noon on the way visit high noon spirits dot com to find a high to find high noon noon near you high noon sun's up. You know what I'm trying to bring some passion tonight so I got passion fruit tequila here if I'm going to ask for some passion out of these players I'm going to need to bring some on my own. Change be the change. I'm a little yeah the Kobe the Kobe things funny just because like man I don't think maybe we just don't have one of those I think that's that's probably part of the problem.
I don't know if there's like a Kobe lying in weight on on that US team that's just like waiting to get woken up but I could be wrong there. But Randy I did want to I did want to ask outside of having the JT conversation again which is probably the closest comp. But I did want to ask about Scotty because this is your guy of course. I'm curious your thoughts on just kind of what we're the Scotty phenomenon I was talking about last or Thursday night and saying like just how much it can't be a coincidence that him and Tiger seem to be like the only. Yes, maybe Phil a teeny tiny bit but Phil still won a lot of these matches too but they seem to be the only two that kind of suffer from this same invincible individual 72 events and totally inept in some team events I'm curious your thoughts on Scotty the team golfer. Yeah, I mean I don't let me just preface all of this I don't know ship for shit so but I think it is interesting I think it's really interesting I guess if I were kind of power ranking my own pet hypotheses I would probably go in this order.
And then I would go into the end of the year and Scotty grinds like nobody else week after week when he shows up he grinds famously like doesn't mail it in hardly ever right so I think some of it. New dad young kids blah blah blah blah I think I think there could be just be fatigue right now with with Scotty my second hypothesis. You train and you compete 51 weeks out of the year as an individual and then you're thrown into this team environment and you're just expected to not miss a beat and I think there's a little bit of. I don't know like tennis right you throw the best tennis player Carlos Alcarez if you throw him into a doubles environment it's not a guarantee that he's going to just be the best doubles player and win all the doubles matches so I just think there's this house at school yeah well I just think there's this little bit of you know it's it's a different environment and it and it just affects.
It's a little voodoo it's a little woo woo but I don't know what exactly is causing that except for there's certainly something going on and then my third hypothesis would be like presidents cup specifically and it's hard to say it's about the writer cup but just like not that important as some other things are perhaps but outside that I don't know I maybe fourth is like it's. All just a big freaking coincidence and it's random and this is how it's fallen out but I guess those were all the things I was thinking about today as I pondered that question and so I don't know how those different hypotheses find you I love that I'm equally confused I don't know the don't know the answer it's fascinating to me I think it's one of the most interesting things going in golf right now and I look at it i'm just like man you put. You put Nick Taylor and Scotty Sheffler in the middle of the same fairway right now with the president's cup on the line tomorrow and I'm like who do I think it's going to hit a better shot i'm like.
I don't know if you want the answer to that question but like i'm afraid he's not a better golfer than Scotty Sheffler like in poll there's not a better golfer than Tiger Woods how does this stuff happen and I think it's like this weird i don't know maybe this is a leap but. I know. ran you know you're on this block with me all pro sports have just gotten like so fucking optimized and so just everything has to everything is like getting compressed and compressed and compressed to the pure essence of like how do you squeeze out one. millimeter more than the other person and I just love that team golf at least seems like one spot or just like man can't put my finger on that that's crazy. I got just i think i just want to more i don't i don't know i don't know what to say i know he's better than him but he keeps beating his ass is like i don't know but that's kind of the reason to watch. I think and so Scotty i'm sorry you're a victim of that but that's. God it's kind of one of the great things i think we got we got going if you if you look at it right.
and that's where the the sentiment i've heard is like you know people keep saying like the sky is a marathon runner this isn't a marathon it's like okay yes you run a certain pace when you run a marathon but like Scotty signed up for like a 200 meter relay. Like he that's you don't just show up to the 200 meter relay and run your marathon it's a different race you're playing different game here like you. And you've got the number like you're running the rate like you're going to do it like you might as well treat it differently and that's where like we've seen. bad rider cups from Roy McElroy we've seen bad rider cups from Justin Rose we've seen like these these lions these great men that have put up these great. rider cups we've seen it dip but never at any point. In any of their worst moments in these team events has it have they looked disinterested have they looked like you. Has it ever felt reasonable to question their motivation and their intensity and their dedication to the event like not once and maybe again that can sometimes feel unfair and it still might be unfair.
With Scotty but it's at least a part of the conversation that we are questioning his intensity his preparedness and his enthusiasm to not lose to be like you're not fucking taking this from me at no point when I watch him in these team events do I feel that emanating from the screen fair or not I do not feel that. I yeah I might slightly disagree I don't I don't think I'm on the questioning his preparedness or does he want it or I think we saw in 15 this morning when he made that pot and he reacted like he'd want him like that's what he looks like when he wins majors like he was like fire the fuck up to finally see a pot go in. I don't think he's faking that I don't think he like I think his super my my theory I think his superpower is he's the best golfer in the world at not caring about results. And this is the one like that's that's why he every week just goes right off his back and that's why he tends to win a lot of 72 whole stroke play events I want to be clear my take is not that he's not like cheering loud enough that like that was the first moment he had and he let out a big fist bump that's great but like I don't see him channeling that energy into other moments is my other point but I think that's maybe just not how he's wired like I think he I guess what that's what I'm saying is like I think he's.
He's his superpowers like being even keel and sometimes he freaks out and you know he gets bitchy if he's you know misses a bunch of short putts or something but like by and large man he's he's pretty even when he loses he's he's pretty like well you know didn't go my way this week I guess we'll get him next week and I think that just doesn't play on a week like this externally but I think like that's kind of why he is who he is and I just I don't know again I have way more questions and answers. I just find it fascinating. I mean he's got to be pressing a little bit at this point right he knows what his record is so there there has to be some of that I wonder if too you know he's free to express himself and be his bitchy as he wants in stroke play events and I wonder if he's got to put on that happy face and be the good teammate these weeks it shouldn't derail you to the point you know that we see Scotty Schlepp. Schaeffler but I love that we can have this debate.
Deach to your original point I love that we have this can have this debate I love that we can't put our finger on exactly what the reason is you know there's still some room in sports to just you know who knows that's the fun of that's the fun of having this discussion. I know there's just so many weeks that are like well that got hit two more greens and he made three more putts and I guess that's why you won move on to on to you know Houston. And this is one that I'm just like man I can talk about this for three hours this is like we're not even talking about golf anymore big guy this is what we're talking about everything this is this is the good stuff. It it I said this on X as today as well I just like I wonder if this is a wake up call in terms of like you're you got bench at a home presidents cup like for for how you played. And like if that if that's not a wake up call for these team events I don't know what would be I mean Tom Kim your buddy played play every match when Clark got the call to go play every match Sam Burns your partner and to be they won their match this morning but Sam Burns carried that match completely Scotty was the second worst American this morning only to JT who had a disaster of a morning so it's always like did you guys think the benching was justified and fair for the afternoon because.
By the end of that match I was wondering like I don't know how you send him back out in his current state. God on 15 didn't override I know it's all with it it's so hard I mean it's like I don't know how the timelines shake out so it's very possible they had to lock all these pairings before this happened but it did seem like 15 happens Sam stuffs it on 16 17 like it finally was like oh to they finally got some like good momentum like he started to look like himself a little bit more on that back nine and it's like I still would take my chances on Scotty Sheffler who's bad and team golf that I would on anybody else like on planet so it was kind of a coin flip for me I feel like I didn't hate it but I'm also like I don't think anybody would have been like why are you sending Scotty back out you know so it's it's kind of an interesting like put your put your name on a tape. Take there from from snitcher for sure yeah I had no problem with it I yeah I struggled to go so far as to say it was justified but I don't.
When the news came out that he was sitting I didn't I didn't know part of me was like oh my god why are you sitting Scotty I'll say what I do have a problem with I don't know if you guys do as well I hate that Kara and nothing against Kara but I hate that that person in that position breaks it to Scotty I would rather afford him the opportunity to go talk to his captain to learn whether he's playing or not I thought that was a bit off in my opinion. Double sat TV very good TV yeah I thought the same thing right now I was like oh this is unfair I was like oh but I can't but what's he gonna say it. So yeah I definitely was thinking about that too. Did you guys see what I was being not a fan of was Kara asking you know sneds on that opening tea about you know about that afternoon for some and him not being able to remember who he put with Chris Goddard which is let me let me get through this show without doing that today and that I will I I don't know that's one of those like there's no worse feeling in the world than that when you just you miss the step and you just like your fallen is a that's a tough one to dig yourself out of
I just like here. Do we got we got let's take that again. Do we I don't do back to one I do want an answer but you know at some point in the next week if that was a you know if Clark Burns was even a possibility heading into the week if that was a rehearsed for some at all a communicated possible contingency plan in some way I I'd be surprised if that was the case I think in the sound like there was some conversation Brenn Porath has come up to it on that about you know look like there was some conversation with Sam Burns and some of the assistant captains and sneds when that kind of news was given to them after the their match concluded to the point where it did not work like that that that move did not necessarily work in the afternoon Sam Burns and when Clark lost their match in the afternoon but I do think sneds was saying okay but this Sheffler Burns combo has not been great Sam is playing much better than Scotty is this morning in in four ball and Scotty is also way better in four ball than
is in four sums he's one and eight in four sums and I can't really bench Sam how he's playing right now I can't really bench wind him how he's playing right now I'm kind of a putting up against who the heck am I going to sit I feel like it's it's got to be Scotty and I didn't necessarily disagree with that on its surface I just didn't know if they were as prepared as they should be for that pairing and the fact that he couldn't name who is pairing guys with leads me to believe that as well but on the flip side the gotter up may it's not like maybe it was gotter up that got switched in at the last minute to play in the afternoon and him and came young did go out and whoops some asses afternoon so did uh got to ask did you guys see the the thing where Pat Murphy bench William Contreras for not running out of single the other night and then he came out the next night uh had another close play at first the dove head first at a first base which is not really what you want to see headed to the playoffs but was very funny uh and I'd love you know maybe Scotty do something like that tomorrow uh tomorrow I think let's see a quid one of that
just going absolutely ape shit on the first green when you do a two-put-par or he's doing the he's riding do the happy Gilmore ride the ride the bull off the first tee I know he's got to try to drive four for sure that's that's that's definite uh yeah let me think on that big there's got to be there's got to be the quid oh god we need more guys to land head first and over first should we get to some matches we've been and we've been delaying this for quite some time um why don't we start with the last match since we're talking about Scotty and Burns uh anyways this was Hadecki and Rio he he saw Tsune this morning uh in the fourth match out Scotty uh made a birdy on the easy third hole but then did not make another birdie until 15 it was a run of one birdie in 29 holes on his own ball in four ball Burns was much better player he birdied the fourth hole birdied the ninth hole um and they made a furious rally they they were one down after 14 but ended up winning the match two and one with birdies on 15 and then Burns stepped up and birdied 16 and 17
to put the flip that match and put some put some more red on the board at the end of that one not only birdies I mean just stuffed the pinata on 16 and 17 those are awesome shots especially on 16 was just that was that was big time stuff from from Sam Burns back up at the very top first match out was Justin Thomas and Jackson Coivan against Minbouli and Sung J N uh Coivan set the tone early with a birdie on the first JT had some fence issues right off the jump uh JT would make a birdie on the fourth hole but that would be his only birdie of the day Coivan uh bounced back with a birdie on the sixth hole that put him two up uh put the international bounce right back and won the seventh with a birdie from Sung J N uh 12 hole was great uh Coivan pulled it way left but survived JT got way too aggressive uh with his driver went in the water Sung J thought he hit it in the fairway but it rode the fairway and crept all the way into so sick into the penalty area
which I don't as much as I've watched that hole I didn't realize it was that dramatic of uh if you got the ball work in the wrong way in that fairway you could get all the way down there but I love stuff like that man no it's not you know layup shouldn't be easy either there shouldn't be like it shouldn't be an auto an auto get out of jail free card and a hole like that yeah so 12 was 12 was great to watch all day long from that back it was the team was back today and it was uh in the in the morning at least and it was it just made for some it'd be very decisive of a more club you're taking and what line you were taking so uh it started to get away from the US from there though Coven made bogies on 13 and 14 JT made some scrambling pars on both of those holes but it really got away from the US on 15 and 16 Minnwuley birdied 15 and then the US just made a complete mess of the 16th hole and handed it to the internationals and it was tied JT had a good look from 18 feet on the 17th hole but missed that but he did have a nice up and down on 18 with Coven in trouble uh
that was it enough for them to eek out the half but JT was the lowest strokes game player in the field uh this morning in Saturday four balls um some of that due to the very first hole where whiffed a ball left handed essentially uh but the rest of it was also very much to do to just play in really bad and the rest it was very not good uh I've got I got my I got a lot I did a lot of JT I did a week's worth of JT glazed I got Thursday which is good because I don't I don't think I'm gonna need need too much more uh he was not good today unfortunately no it was obvious he was going to need to sit uh in the afternoon but I just man I did not Coven battle though yeah Coven had it I enjoyed watching Coven in this in this setting he had to go on for a little while um kind of carried it as long as he could and he yeah he did not have a strong back nine but yeah his partner left him out to dry completely so they were really a good pairing in terms of neither you know JT had the great day Thursday very poor day today
Coven was was solid today uh and and it helped offset JT to the point where they got a half out of it um but yeah it was I mean I I I could not have imagined what we saw how clean it was from JT on Thursday that it was just complete loss of game the last two days was not you know I could I could see a comeback to earth kind of being a more neutral player over the last two days I did not see him completely losing his game he looked quite bummed after we're in C.C. he felt like he cost uh Jackson a half point uh in that match it's hard to argue that he that he that he didn't yeah three just just a couple true unknowns too with Thomas and Coven now going into singles you know uh Coven playing four balls it's a little bit protect you know you don't want to put them in too big of a spot uh be interesting his his first international singles match on this type of stage and then yeah like you said JT who knows tomorrow I think that's
bit concerning for the US yeah especially as JT's approach play approach play and putter like that's a tough combination to not have working but man he he guts out the singles matches I don't know what the matchup is exactly gonna be for him but we'll get to that when it gets I think is unveiled but we will we'll break that down here a little later but yeah a good half point earned out between Min Moo Lee and Sung J M every half at this point from the international is a partial win uh with the lead they have second match out Seaboo Kim and Tom Kim uh just the most delightful pairing to watch play golf in this event they beat Khan Moore Kawa and Windham Clark uh Moore Kawa made a bunch of early birdies Windham rolled in a bomb from 37 feet on the fifth hole went nuts uh Windham brought the energy from the jump too you know getting crowd pumped up on the very first hole uh Seaboo and Tom Kim they made a mess of the seventh hole handed that to them to put the US uh two up but Seaboo birdied nine eleven Tom Kim birdied twelve Seaboo drained birdies on both
16 and 17 uh to come back and win that match for the international's extend the lead to eight to three it was the best golf played uh of any match uh this morning and um you know Tom Kim was not excellent but Seaboo was and Tom Kim stepped up on the couple holes that was needed and uh and they they eaked out the point in that one massive point I think with all the red on the board through the front nine this morning to get a half a point like you said out of that first match and then flip this and gain a full point I mean this the international team goes on to win I think you can kind of circle these matches as as pretty big keys to that and another another like point for team golf too not that uh anybody's arguing team golf is bad but uh I love here in Seaboo talk about like I think when we've seen him in contention it's always a lot of like man the potter looks really dodgy he doesn't look like he's trusting his reads he's he he just looks a little
off and coming down the stretch he just looked like he was nails and afterward he's like oh yeah Tom's reading all my pots he's telling me right where to hit it and I just I can't miss I'm like oh that's awesome that's what is that's what it's all about that's so great they understand the assignment to you know just in the crowd and I just I I the the presence cup has gotten a lot better since Tom Kim got involved in this event yeah I'm glad you said that 100% agree totally not agree more yeah uh in the third match it was Cam Young and Chris got her up against Nick Taylor and Cory Connors Cam just came out hit the hit the Noss early they won the first hole uh after Connors and Taylor made a mess of that one and Cam Burdy two he Burdy three then drove the fourth green and eagled that hole to go four up through four holes Cam also made a birdy on the sixth hole and the ninth hole shot six under on his own ball on the front nine to start out a little bit on the back nine but got her up drains bombs on 14 15 and 17 uh to to there was first
three birdies of the day uh to come back and close that match and they they win that one three you know it says two and one I would have thought that would have been three and one uh with that birdie but anyways they win the win the match win the point and the pairing that we wanted to see from the very jump at the beginning of this week uh you know puts another puts a point on the board for the US does it funny how like I'm sure there's analytics reasons to put them together too but there are some pairings where you just kind of look at guys you're like yeah obviously those two right like like those two are gonna play together right yeah come on and they're practicing together and that's where you know the gotter up can't lay thing in the first four ball was you know it's one of those you're like all right they probably know something we don't mathematically professor ball I hated that yeah and I wish I had a question you know I'm that I'm truly Monday morning quarterbacking that one uh of you know especially from what we see none of these this two in the in the combination but yeah I don't know how they landed on that one and it was um
you know more they figured it out eventually but they potentially too little too late anyways the morning four ball ends the international's leading eight and a half to five and a half the US got two and a half out of it international's one and a half still think that was a good session for the international's uh oh could have been devastating that yeah yeah yeah you because you know the US was like this was kind of like do we got to survive kind of taking their best shot this morning and and when it was all read on the front nine that that's what I mean like getting a point and a half out of this session I think was massive I think it was you know you're down down seven but you got the ball near the end of the half you drive you get a field goal and you're getting the ball back to start the second half going into four sims like that was the move of like we didn't didn't tie the game uh but we got the the ball back and it's time to go in four sims uh and yeah it college football season is here in our closets are looking more and that's quite a metaphor you're going to go in there like rowbacks website here's the thing about robax collegiate game day collection
it's not just slapping a logo on a stock polo every polo hoodie and quarters zip is custom designed for your school whether it's campus landmarks logos traditions school collars you name it rowback is tapping into a unique uh into it in a unique custom way the polo hoodies accused of more the game day collection just continues to grow I'm dub beat up from the feed up tonight Randy uh the little accents they got in there with the school collars on the string and all that stuff is just the best and I've got a little dub beat polo that they you know they've they've uh you know they flooded it what a bunch of small a dub beat logos on that one I love that one best part is it's still the same fit and feel of everything else you already know about rowback best fabrics in create incredible versatility and incredibly comfortable in the wise words of ball know or james winston on Saturdays we wear rowback so catch them before they sell out in your team potentially drops uh their next game head to rowback.com r-o-b-a-c-k-k-dot-com use code n-l-u for 20% off your first order through the end of the week into the afternoon sitting for the us
scottie chefler just and tomas jackson coivan and collin mora kawa on the international side christian bazaidon hoats sitting all day niko hiaveria sitting all day hadekimatsu yama and rio he's out soon a uh we're on the bench for this afternoon uh i don't we don't have to we don't have to spend a lot of time on this but uh any surprises best has like a big time winning record is that any surprise to uh can't argue with the result i guess but i was maybe a little surprise not to see him go back out and force him he's that's kind of wise on the team he's stunk in that first four succession i think it was the chance to go for the jugular um i mean he he and niko were did not play well in the first sessions they played to the point where ogleby made the call if we're not going we're not going back there uh the depth thing is a problem we do not have to play you again um maybe we can and this is where i think the presence cup is unique in that you can pick and choose your matchups for those two players if you want to for singles play
right and there's a way of go when you go in blind and it you know you don't know who they're going to play and it could be really really bad for the math and the and the calculus of how you want to to try to find your points it's it i think it's a totally different thing like you could totally lay each of those two guys as a sacrificial land to the best two us guys if it shakes that way or you could find the bottom two guys uh on the us side the most vulnerable guys on the us side and try to scratch a point out of uh out of those matches i think that's a super interesting it's more justifiable i think to bench somebody for a long period of time in the in the presence cup in the rider cup uh no spoilers but hold that thought for when we get to singles cannot wait first one out they sat the morning session patrick can't lay in zander shafley against tom kim cwook him zander came out of gay guys he came out made a couple puts uh you know kind of you know it was like a big change in energy necessary we made a big par putt on one pretty workman like yeah got to just a couple dudes clock it in uh let's just let's just go to work bed eight more eight
more and we're back home uh yeah it was it was not the most fun fun match to watch but uh they got it done they got it done they birdie two and three and five uh the international's did of course tom kim and cwook him made some birdies on the front nine they did run out of steam though the puts yeah we're falling for the first three sessions most definitely not they met a mess of the eleventh hole um when they did that put the us two up um they did make stuff want to make a birdie see was stuffed it onto on the sixteenth hole when they were two down with just three to play they kind of extended their life a little bit but uh ended up having to concede the seventeenth hole when they degreen themselves on a kind of a doer die putt uh on seventeen it was funny but like they kind of needed to make that putt because the u.s. was in close but got a point on the board for zander can't lay uh if they had a gone home in three i don't know uh if the genie's getting back in the bottle uh on that one and from a from a PR standpoint but uh to quote your reds again where are you gonna go you're gonna stop put these guys on the team where where else you guys gonna go
that's very well you want jj spawn yeah you think he's gonna put butts in seats i don't think so give you kla zander again i do think there's something to the point that we don't have to play these two together if they like they had incredible success in the early part of this partnership when they were both like top five players in the world and they're not the same level player anymore so i don't know if we have to keep them together i think you'd be hard pressed to find guys that like should absolutely be on the team over them but i do think we could be potentially looking at the end of kind of this run of this partnership yeah we can see that so uh first loss for tom kim and seawoo came there three and one uh zander can't like move to one and two after this match got to be a little bit of fumes for for tom kim and seawoo towards the end of that match like it looked like the door was kind of creaking open and they they maybe could flip it again and it was just like just too big of a too big of an ask yeah did any i mean i'm going to do in soft top my head did anyone that played
all four when they're afternoon match cam young i believe is potentially the only one man will he has gone all four yeah and kory conner yep you're correct okay so several guys did which that is the next match up uh russell henley jake abridgman against kory conner's and nick taylor uh a bunch of opi shit going on in the early part of this match uh conner's hit one opi on this match like not the best golf but uh it was interesting it was interesting it was bad golf randies if you look at the card you can get tricked into thinking that it wasn't that bag there's a bunch of circles on there but some of those are just like conceded birdies before because the other team was out of the whole uh and you know had already played their par uh par shot before the other team had even hit their birdy but taylor went right up against the ob on the first old conner's hit it opi onto but a fan just like bicycle kicked it back onto the green one of those outrageous things i've ever seen in life sports
and it was crazy and the guy immediately covered his mouth oh my god i'm so sorry it was just for that to be the reflex was epic it was like a it was like a kung fu move i've never done never seen anything like it uh what was the jeffrey mire incident and the yank in the playoff game the guy that reached and uh so they they they did rule fan interference on that and ruled that ball was out of bounds just a big big dub for the for fight over flight there for that for that guy sitting right there in Chicago for yeah yeah exactly what if it was barman nobody's seen nobody's seen him until then so the international did not get a ball in the hole for the first three holes and they were three down from there but then they peeled off some birdies maybe some birdies uh you know some of these might have just been uh give me but they were three the u.s. was three up through ten holes uh in this match and uh the meltdown just ensued from there the americans bogeed eleven
they conceded the twelfth hole and they made a mess and plugged the ball in the bunker there just made absolutely no sense shot from russell himley there on the twelfth rus missed a shorty during play through uh to have the 14th hole then they bogeed 15 to go one down rus just stunk i mean he stepped up he drove drove it in the bunker on 17 when they had their backs up against the wall Cory Conner's finished the match with a six footer uh on the 18th hole porter right in the middle and uh international's won that one won up which was a massive point uh at the end of that day 10-8 is so different than 10 and a half seven and a half yeah i russell love russe huge russell andley fan uh he goes in my in my file my billy horsial file of just like oh man i thought this was going to go a lot a lot different in team golf uh and just kind of seen two of them now and you're like if that's that's not it man i don't know for i don't know for hanging on to that uniform man i don't know i don't know if we're getting another one of those i don't know if we're coming back from that yeah bridgeman we we said this on the preview we've said this this week i don't get
taken a guy that has best par four scoring and not letting him play his own ball at all um just like especially as a rookie too is like the hardest thing to settle into is the all shot and it's just a just weird and pairing it with somebody that doesn't hit the ball that far also like you know bridgeman's not a bomber either i mean again i i don't have the the all the info of what why this pairing would have made sense from from four sims but it didn't work they went on to and they're two four sims matches and it hurt it hurt a lot so um third match camman young and chris goddorup against adam scott and sung jm uh cam just complete here i'm out camman young has been the best player in this president's cup both sides not even close not nobody's even in the ballpark of what that guy has produced even that's after a pretty shaky opening session that we had i think we were kind of questioning after thursday what you do with camman young but the last three sessions he has been just pretty much the best player in each one he was the best by far four point five six shots gained alone from him in this afternoons four sims
goddorup was next up with two point one five like nobody else and any other match was within three shots of him so and then yeah he was the second best player this morning just behind uh sam burns so just incredible stuff from him they went they just absolutely both raised him goddorup was pretty solid very solid uh in the afternoon as well and they were they were too good of a team like the in the in a better world they would have been spread out and they had not been wasted on winning six and four but you know that's it breaks that way sometimes cam hit a three hundred seventy five year drive on thirteen then drained an eagle putt after that they went on thirty best ball or i'm sorry in four sims they went out at thirty and they were five up with the turn so i know i know adam scott's not the adam scott of of old he still is the one of the premier players on the team he's been a pretty kind of a missing person this week and for them to to still be up three points even with him not having a good week is impressive you know the numbers are
that necessarily support that he means one and two but he's been like quite literally dead neutral in strokes gains um and so it's hard to you know in this afternoon for some he was he was fine you know he just wasn't they went up against the buzz saw and sung j wasn't that great uh and after you're in four sims um he was the best player in the in the friday four sims in the match they won beating camin and jt so it's not been great but it's not been you know there's some there's some bigger problems i think overall uh on the uh on the international side than than adam scott yeah he's essentially been like their fourth best player so far so um sunday's one two and one adam scott one and two uh camion somehow is only two and two uh and god are up uh is two and two so far last match sam burns and wind him Clark against ryan foxman wool lee uh the early lead uh was taken in this one
by burns and Clark they were they were two up through two uh fox and lee fought back with a birdy on the third hole though they also birded the seventh hole to tie the match uh they uh they won the hole with a part the eighth hole with a par to go one up um and then they made uh unbelievable shot from ryan fox on the thirteenth hole the par three use in the funnel pin uh getting it down there close in that one uh winning that hole to go one up mandu lee then made a short birdie putt on 14 after another good shot uh from fox to go two up u.s made a mess of fifteen uh three up lead ended up winning this one three and two is kind of burns right now to steam near the and Clark's been good i feel like he's been a lot better than his one and three record shows um that was a shock to me when i saw that um but fox moves to two and one mandu lee to one and one and the international should be taken a ten and a half seven and a half lead into tomorrow uh can we get into singles please we can i i'm thrilled to uh to unveil this i think uh i'm excited for tomorrow uh all right
should we do a uh i i'm looking at him i'll i'll say who you know famously in the presence couple one team throws one out the other team can react there's no envelope or anything like that uh the internationals went first guys if you're the internationals who you throw out first as your your your lead dog it's interesting you know it's that white t.k.s music i hear him or c.w. but there's also a quiet little rule of thumb that you don't put out somebody that's gonna play five matches in the first match from an energy perspective going out first for the internationals rio he satsune the us counters with um camera and young uh like that man don't like that let's put a point on the board if they're gonna give it to us why okay i'll put flag that one for i will have some questions on that later uh
team you team you say uh comes out with windum clerk okay captured ogovie comes back with tom kim great match there uh wasn't that wasn't windum in the the famous night night uh he was he was not in the match champion that's what he was chirping of that's right they played them earlier that day i think yeah uh okay back to the internationals throw out cori conners us counters with just and tomis so we have cam young windum clerk just and tomis as our first three for the us uh the us throws out scottie shefler next which is interesting uh in that you would just give them a free roll to put anybody that they want up against scottie shefler right so they put bez up against them a bit uh close nico nico what what are they doing uh us comes uh i'm sorry internationals come up next with sungie who was gonna get sam burns i was gonna guess
burns uh then we go to the us has got her up uh again kind of putting like your your big horse and saying who would you like to play this guy uh a little bit and they sound like they great man they went bez bez oh bez they went they went bez got her up and bez uh i don't love this that's what we doing dog though i i don't know if i'd love this from the international team uh hideki is next uh gets thrown out he will be taking on colon morric howa uh sure after that uh the us throws out patrick can't lie uh internationals counter with adam scott uh maybe the most interesting match of the day after that internationals throughout c wukim uh us answers with who's left is it the sander no it's not sander koivan koivan wow koivan versus c wukim be good
stuff there uh jake abridgman is gonna be in the tenth match he's taking on min wuli uh uh international throughout nick taylor who's gonna get rust henley and that leaves the anchor match as zander versus the great great great great man ryan fox as the uh as the firewall uh uh uh uh um solid your your your reaction i'm just i'm just i'm just learning this now okay so it's just now coming across my desk it certainly seems like from my perspective that they mis-managed the camera and young and scottie sheffler situation because as much as as hard as we've been on scottie for this like still eighteen holds so low single match play like i he's gonna he's one of your dogs like he's one of your guys that like you are you know you you you would not want him in a match up against one of the lowest ranked players on the international team yeah and they play like they they they chose that
in the opening match one and also gave the international's the opportunity to find the match up they wanted for nico is just interesting and i'm happy if i'm ogle v if i'm saying godorep bez scottie nico and reo cameron young are the three i will lose those three matches let's say if i get a half point out of those i'm i'm happy if i get one i'm ecstatic out of that then then we're t- even you lose all three we're tied and all i gotta do is find five out of the other favorable you know somewhat favorable matchups if we're gonna get i'm i'm pretty happy if i'm the international's right now i tend to i tend to agree yeah i like that god the singles is where it really starts to see the depth see the depth yeah where you're just like hmm how we how we win in some of these matches international team got that tom kim windum Clark match feels
very very big very big yeah but rainy the point the depth would play better if you get like totally players on your team matched up like if i'm negating the depth if you're if you're putting your worst against their best right i'm freaking the disparity a little bit i get the idea if you want to get uh let's just call it an easy point i'm not going to guarantee camera young's gonna beat he's not soon it tomorrow but i like i get the idea like you want to win that first match but like you got a margin you got to close like they to put reo out first what would you guys who would you guys have put up against him jt i'd say windum or jt or mora kawa i think could have been a good fit there zander could have been a good fit there i know he hasn't played his best but like i would count on zander to beat reo just zander zander always go last i feel like that's it no he's gone first at times yeah um and i don't know if i'm putting rust handling near the back end after what happened at beth paged when the moment got pretty big no but i i just i mean there's a world where
let's give cam his match let's give scottie his match jt's a dog uh jt's a question mark right now where he got his has been for sure yeah that's an interesting match tomorrow that's a big spot for jt he's got a way i guess what i'm saying is like shap man i could see a world where the us wins this for six matches and yeah yeah just hoping that momentum rides through through the rest i don't know this gets back to like yeah when i just look at the names on paper uh the depth and i guess the the world ranking and accomplishments of the us team uh really shine through a bit but i want to find odds matches for these i love that um randy can i run a game by you that i know interested to play with you yeah we can do this rather quickly but and this maybe this is better sunday game but i'm interested to get your take on this so the the exercise is this we for the twelve us players on this team you have to decide right now whether or
or not you are taking them to a dare okay you say yes they're going no matter what happens of the next year and if you say no they're not going no matter what happens of the next year this is where if you try to have solid as he'd be like well i would have to know what's going on at the top i take him i take him team for right now are we playing tomorrow or are we playing it are we playing it a year i'm gonna play i know i'm low co either i'll say no to twelve guys i know you will i wish what you make this real make this real quick for you i will play too all right camera young are you are you taking him to we're taking him to a dare okay he's on the squad wind him uh yes he's on the squad okay did you give a thumbs up as well jt hate this dude on bias i i just have a little bit of jt fatigue like i know the answer well i don't want to lock him in so i think it has to be a no because i don't want to lock him in greatest team record in united states team golf history i legitimately think maybe they
should kick fear out and make jt to captain if they're going to try to redo some of this team USA stuff because i do think he needs to be in there uh because i think he's the only one that kind of has that bone but maybe not so much holding clubs i'll say i'll say no for now okay can't bring him no matter what jj spawns coming then that's what that means i'm taking jt scott sheffler we're gonna bring scott yeah we're gonna brissey let me see what happens tomorrow but i think sam burns so this is a guy i've kind of done a 180 on i think yeah i i just don't think we're finding 12 guys better than sam by next year i also think they've not put him in the best positions to succeed i agree with that i think finding a better match for partnership can get more out of him i don't know what that answer is but i think it something different could work for sam burns god are up i like god are up i'm bringing him yep yeah i'm taking him
big big spot for you here ready more kawa i've seen enough of calling i don't need him he kind of follows in that jt camp uh let's let's you know that the tree of liberty needs refresh with some new blood yeah i know it's it's probably stupid and he's gonna put up some crazy good iron year and of course he should be on the team quote unquote but i'm i'm with you i'm i'm i'm good no thanks okay i'm taking more kawa can't lay no no no done um it's the hardest one for me i know this is this one right close yeah no no can't no can't lay i still do it easiest one but again i'm ready to break up him in zander i think i i i still think he's gonna be better just imagine the world where it's like oops we have to leave like the you know when you like get rid of a bunch of stuff and you're having him is so much more than having to take you know when you're like stressing about cleaning your office or something and you're like if i get i just can't possibly get rid of this
i i would i would miss it so much i would i think about what if i ever need to go to a a Halloween party where i need to dress as this thing i'm gonna need it and then you get rid of it and you just don't ever think about it again i think that would be great i think that would not you're not wrong team you know you're not wrong i think you're not wrong if i felt like there was more new hot blooded americans ready to to come up i might answer differently on some of these but that's kind of watching this corn fairy tour you're all stillman on that on that chair i like been James yeah been James get the air fryer out there this one is interesting jacks and koivan well that's why i thought this one was the hardest because you like the track record right it's it's hard to just like guarantee him a spot next year but also i want to to make this system for him that opportunity so yeah i'm taking him yeah i'm in he's a we locked him up man eight year deal he's the franchise shortstop where he's what's the truth you got a dare to training ground anyways we're not gonna win the dare so he's got it he's got to be there bridgeman we got plus we got six years of control it yeah
well what you just said leads me to know on bridgeman like no offense we just let's get let's see some new guys yeah would have been yeah it was good audition thanks for coming out man great love what you love what you put on tape this isn't no forever this is just no for next year although in this instance it is no forever is no he said so no just like you can't it's no for next year like you you have to lock in this year Russ Henley no no i'm it's a no for me zander zander's a yes where's kyle is a no yeah let's split him up let's see how xman reacts without without Patrick yeah which the this is where i hated like i think i said 10 yeses and i don't i don't love myself ever but i definitely don't love myself right now see dj and i cleaned out the closet we're feeling we're free i think we have five spots i did you just gotta take saw it that's wow is he gonna feel in that happens oh yeah what if they lose what if we had nightmares what if we
had players that were fun to watch from then they lost that would be what a mess that would be gosh all right oh big deal you could you didn't have to get on the regular yeah we got a spot for speed lap all right do speed you're locking him in right now or we can't take it out it's not part of the game i don't have legal that i don't have to answer that question all right who wins the president's got tomorrow oh god i'm good wrong about everything this week so i don't know whether it stands it or or go with my whole chest we all agree at ties like the worst the some of all fears right that'd be a nightmare that'd be a nightmare um which i for you do they do they do yeah they famously they used to have it be a playoff but now they got rid of that yeah too much too much pressure on anybody but they don't even do a retain do they do they call it a full on tie i don't know okay isn't that crazy they don't know i don't know either i would listen i want to believe in something i want to root for underdogs
give me the international team yeah come join me big i love it same same i think they can't be three across the board now i i think i hope they do it i mean what what a story it would be truly like i mean just unreal unreal stuff if they get it done i don't even know what's a compared to engulf it be be nuts i hope it's big too yeah a lot yeah just bleak scenes out there or or or the great man foxy wins it with the that's what i don't fit enough for it down for the good of the sport i hope it comes out of that last match and foxy just steps on another mid iron into 18 gah zander zander won't even have scooped up as is gimme exactly i want to have already hit the putt exactly i can't wait um what what a dub that we got such a fun sunday of the presence cup on tap it is how did that was not guaranteed guys and that there's a lot a lot of
lot of things that have to happen for that to uh to go that way that's right you're gonna get your stopwatch out for the speech on the on the first tee uh i'm sure there will be plenty of stopwatches out but i i'm happy to to join the chorus if you like uh if he opens enough to question saw you i'm gonna ask anything uh do the whole game of who he's taking the other twelve Americans if he's taking the next year we'll do i might have to get him to weigh it on the the t-swift situation which randy hit you have not you've not weighed in on this are you gonna pick a side on this are you issuing statement on this t-swift your silence is deafening well i i will have a statement tomorrow let's let's leave it as a cliffhanger for the sunday show it's not good i think it's not good dig you got a lot of reputational capital fight over this one done look good but we're going to have official statement tomorrow night yeah uh highlights one other highlight of the day maybe
a low light um i don't know if you guys this came across your guys desk i i like watching the presidents cup it's not my favorite event um you know it's not like must see tv if you entirely missed the whole thing i wouldn't be like oh you really missed out except everyone reads catty push that fan that's great um charlie rimer didn't doesn't share the same sentiment uh he he he tweeted how did we wait an hour twenty to get to this should have led with it should have he tweeted this if you have it uh here's a hot take if you had hooked me up to the electric chair and you said quote watch the president's cup or we'll flip the switch i'd say quote flip the switch hashtag glorified member guest chuck i was not familiar with your game i i give me more of these hot takes oh gosh flip the switch that needs to be in the lexicon immediately whatever things are

media and they're just like oh this is fucking bullshit and everybody's bought and paid for everything's a scam uh yeah it's good we need it for the switch with the switch man uh somebody flipped the switch on mbc uh commercial load this afternoon it was a complete embarrassment uh i thought that bounced back pretty well yesterday and i didn't feel like it was horrible watch today until the end when they just blew it worse than henley and bridgeman did uh missing shots playing through big moments and playing through coming back from playing through with three pots then right back in commercial it was it was really bad um that's it we know the drill but it was it was very very tough uh yeah not not good not good flip the switch flip the switch all right that is gonna do it for tonight's show we will have a full recap of the week tomorrow deej will be there on site you're gonna call him from the media center right after
