It's the best way to support the show. When Lindsay and I met, we were both really lost and confused. We were going through our Saturn return. We didn't know it at that time, but in your late 20s you go through this beautiful astrological initiation called a Saturn return. And during the Saturn return, everything sort of up for review, your life is going to rejigger and change. And you're really going to figure out who you are, who your friends are, what you're meant to do and who you're meant to be. So we didn't know we were going through this cosmic initiation, this really challenging time. And we just felt like we wanted to connect more deeply. We wanted to find purpose. We wanted

to be ourselves. And we wanted to explore what it would be like to create something together. So we started on our closet floors. We were both working full-time jobs for the first two years, building the business. And really just kind of made everything up as we went. I made up the amounts for our first partnership deal with home nutrition, amazing love them so much. And then we just started to go from there, building the business just one by one brick by brick, figuring it out over time. And eventually went on tour and have all these different things. But it's been a labor of love. And we haven't known what we're doing most of the time. We've just really committed to figuring it out. Yeah. And so in these early episodes, for example, we hired someone to do our intro for us. Some man that we've never met has an incredible voice on Fiverr. On Fiverr. And we had him do our professional intro because that's that was our vibe. In past episodes, we've used copyrighted music, which you're not allowed to do.

We just took all liberties. It was a wild, wild west back then. So we just we rode that. That's the thing with creativity. Creating something when you don't have a following or anyone's watching or anyone's looking, it actually gives you more creative license and freedom than if you already have an established brand or you already have an established identity. So for anyone that wants to create something, it's actually better because no one's expecting anything of you, no one's going to tell you who to do or what to be. And no one was really telling us anything. So we were just kind of making it up the whole time. And I was laughing going back to these early episodes, trying to pick out what we were going to listen to. And by the way, neither of us have listened to them. I was just going by titles. This is fresh. But I was like, damn, like we kind of had our finger on the pulse of some just like really interesting topics. And some that we've revisited now that we probably didn't even know we've already talked about. And also, the episode descriptions in the early days, I got to say our kind of jamming.

They have a personality to them that I'm in a you would write them. I would. And I'm like, these are great. I remember you were a good writer. Yeah, you would write our descriptions. But like totally not SEO friendly, totally not completely describing the episode, you know, kind of had a personal. Yeah, I was like a Twitter. It was like a Twitter description. Yeah, completely. Okay, so today we're going to listen to first parts of episode eight. By the way, we have over 700 episodes. So episode eight, this came out in September of 2016. And it is how to learn from people you are dating a mini-sode. At the time I was single and dating, you were the experienced mama in a relationship. Uh-huh. Probably with all the wisdom. Totally. I was I was sharing wisdom because I thought I would still be married. And now, Krista is single and dating and I'm married. So it's I can't wait to glean the wisdom

from my previous self. But truly, please tell me everything that you know. Yeah, I can't wait to hear what you asked to say. I cannot wait with this, with this gal. What kind of wisdom, this little mama has for us. Okay. That's funny. I want to. Here we go from the tippy top. Welcome to almost 30. This is a mini-sode hosted by Krista Williams and Lindsay Simpsick. The girls draw some knowledge about stuff you didn't know you wanted to know. Oh, informative. Real and unreserved. I'm sorry. Unreserved. Unreserved. It's so crazy. Isn't it like it should be like real and I know we used to say it's real raw and oh my filter. Yeah, it's real raw and unfiltered. I think girls used to say that back to me. Like back in the day at the beginning, girls used to be like, it's real. It's raw and it's unfiltered or whatever we used to say. Like it's real. It's raw. It's unreserved or like,

I don't know if we said unhinged, but like people used to like quote that back to me. Oh, 100%. How great is that guy's voice? He kills. I love the way he says Krista Williams. Ooh. Meow. Meow. Okay. Welcome to mini-sode. This one's awesome. We're in a fishbowl. Sorry, we're in a fishbowl. I already can. I need help. Yeah. How to learn from people you're dating. Yeah. Just to clarify. That's me. Just to clarify. Yo, are you? Wait, who's wait, wait, play that again. That reminds you of someone's voice. Hold on. I'll molly Cyrus. I'm gay. Disgaining. Last week's episode. What's wrong with us? Uh, cancel. Yeah, cancel. Uh, yeah. Hey, I was younger than Krista is in a long-term relationship. I am single, but we've both been in places

in our lives where we have been dating. You know, without a lot of suitors for a few months or a week or a one-time thing. Yeah. Let her speak. Krista, let the girl fucking finish her sentence. Let her speak. She's like, well, you don't have a voice, so let me speak for you. Your voice sounds like someone that I need to figure out who it is. It's someone. It's making me a little sad. And also, wow, how did I, I was dating like that? That's crazy. It's kind of hot. I don't know about that. I thought it was hot at the time. It's not. Um, I think there's always something to learn, especially as we get older instead of freaking out and crying for days and I know who it is. Oh my god, who? JoJo. The girl from YouTube. What's her name? Oh my god. JoJo C. What? Yeah. Dopp. Is it? Oh my god. Let's see. I thought it was someone else. There's this girl that I work with.

I felt like it sounds like her. Let's see. JoJo. Oh my god. If this is JoJo C. What's voice? If you were JoJo C. What? Try to put JoJo C. What karma? Hello. Okay. JoJo C. What? Speaking not. So fit check. When I was a, is it Miley Hatterbanger's moment? And I was like, all I wanted to have that one day. Like I want to see what I'm talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh god. Letting shit go. It's about learning. Yeah. From the people who come into your life, because they don't think it's an accident. We're talking romantic relationships. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Talk to you some time. For sure. Good one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just to clarify. Yeah. Like shave. shave. One night standards. Yeah. Totally. Okay. Number one. The things that bother you about that person. What is this? You just said something good.

Honestly, we've been started your sentence. You haven't even started the thing. You were like, God, I just need to freaking, I need a muscle. Okay. You about you. Take note. And where you are in your life. And maybe what's been challenging you. So for example, I mean, for me, if that's two times that's also didn't have an example. Ready. For example, I'll be back in five minutes. Come on. You guys just hang on the line. I'll just keep this thing running. I'm like, thinking in real time. I'm like, I'm like hung over from the night before. You didn't always me when like, when I'm first doing something for this. Thank you, sis. It just annoys me when someone is like very dependent.

You're like finishing my sentence was that what I was saying? And I'm like, dependent. I literally just, I said dependent. You're like, yes, that was exactly like, bitch does not have it prepared. I'm going to finish. Literally, I'm like, this is a trauma response that is trying to figure this out. Also, out of every word in the whole entire world, I said dependent. It was like, yep, that's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. Dependent in the sense that like, they depend on me to make decisions. They depend on me to like steer the vehicle of this new. I would love to know the man that was like this with you. I would love to know the man that was dependent on you because I don't think I've ever heard of a man being dependent on you. They steer the vehicle. I love that analogy. Steer the vehicle of this relationship. That's what I was just getting into analogies.

I think for me to react and are waiting for me to give them the green light. And I'm very independent. So I'm in control of a lot of things in my life and making decisions for myself. So sometimes I just, I'm just alone a lot and sick. Let me update this for 2024. I spend a lot of time in my masculine and I'm done being in my masculine and I'm ready to be in my feminine. I want to relax in the may feminine. This, this exact conversation would happen in 2024 with different language for some. Oh, to like, be sure about it and just go for it. And if it fucking like shit, it's a banana, it doesn't work. Then fine. But I just don't. What am I saying? This was like when you just wanted a guy to text you back. I'm like, I want to be, I want to freaking, I want you to drive this vehicle. Okay. What? Dude, what am I saying? This feeling of like, it's on me. That's real. Hey, babe. I'm ready for you.
