On this day in the working class history, the 10th of October. On the 10th of October 1947, a strike began by Black Africa railway workers in what is now Benin and the Code de Voix. The strike spread rapidly throughout the whole of French West Africa, including what is now Senegal and Guinea as well. It lasted until the 19th and March the following year when workers returned to work, having gained many concessions from their employer.
