Every day, excessive delays and denials from big insurers keep patients from accessing the care they need. And when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous. These practices cost billions in wasteful spending, driving up costs for American families. But while big insurers put up barriers, America's hospitals and health systems are in your corner, navigating endless reviews and appeals to get you the care you need when you need it most. It's time to curb these harmful practices and put the focus back on patients. Brought to you by the Coalition to Strength in America's Health Care. Welcome back inside the Ann Arbor Studios of the Big 10 50 WTK online at the big1050.com yesterday. And you just heard from the defense side of the ball, Rod Moore and Trey Pierce, our Michigan football media availability from yesterday. Well, now we'll transition to the offensive side of the ball. We heard from quarterback Bryce Underwood. We heard from running back Jordan Marshall. So let's start with the QB. Here is the signal colored Bryce Underwood who met with the media yesterday. Now here on the Michigan insider on the big 1050 WTK. I've seen you have a great rapport with Andrew Marsh, but a couple of new guys in the room with JJB Cannon and the Jamie French.
How have those guys acclimated? It's been great. Overall, since they got here at the ball in Rola, so we know what our mindset was going into this year. So we're going to keep that going. On your right, Ryder? Yeah, I know you, because of that, basically, has made you the starter going into sprint practice. How much do you view this as a proven year for yourself given that you're working under a staff that didn't recruit you? Overall, I feel like just going into this year on my set, whatever our team mindset is, we like that they ain't going into the season, so that's what we're going to keep working towards them. How much do you mean in yourself in the visual? I mean, how do you look at that? Because again, this is a staff that didn't recruit you, so that's kind of a kind of improvement situation in some way. Overall, for this year, my mindset is whatever my team needs, instead of like, what do I need to do better? I'm going to do whatever my team needs, for this to be the best. Further back on the right, Charles? What's been your impression on the staff in the office? It's been great overall. We came to a mutual agreement on how we want this thing to go, so just getting the ball
roller early, get a great spring ball, just get the ball rolling, so. Just in front of him on your right, Tony. Jason was talking yesterday, and I think he said three or four times that his MO is to play to the strengths of his players, one of yours seemed to be running, and maybe there were times last year you didn't get to do that as much. How do you see that sort of playing out this year? Overall, just using everything that I've capable of to do. Everything I was blessed with from God is now about to be shown to the world, so, let's hear that. For more of this interview, head to mgoblue.com, that's mgoblue.com. Quarterback Bryce Underwood, meeting with the media yesterday, great stuff there from QB1, and obviously really excited about what we're going to see from him as the offense takes a new step, and they unleashed the weapon that is Bryce Underwood at Quarterback. We also heard from his running mate in the back field, running back Jordan Marshall, who a lot has expected of him this year as well, coming back from that injury. He had a fine season last year, but expecting even more from him this year as well, including
great leadership, which of course you're going to get from Bryce as well, so great leadership in the back field. And here is Jordan Marshall, who met with the media yesterday. Now here on the Michigan Insider, on the big 1050 WTK. I got a couple. First, Tim Young-Hider, who's thoughts on seeing him for the past couple of years. He's annoying. I don't like to see. I'm just kidding. He's actually, he's a great kid, comes from a great family. I got to know him in a recruiting process as well, and spent some time with him and his family, but just a good kid. Once to learn, he listens, when we ask him to do something, he's so willing to learn, and he's excited to get better, and not only listens to me, but no matter who it is in the running back room. And that's something that a good player needs to have is that willingness to learn, and again, I'm excited to see him out there on Saturdays and in the spring game, and he's next level,
I'm excited to watch him, and make sure that he gets better, and he goes down in history here as well. No, it was, the word of the day today seems to be discipline. How have you seen, like, what are some examples of increased discipline that you notice? I mean, just within being on time, you need to be 10 minutes early to everything, that's something that, I mean, guys would roll in whenever they really wanted to, and that's something that I really like, something else is the classes, making sure, if you're not a class, you're not practicing, and we say student athlete for a reason, and you go to the University of Michigan to be both, it's not only amazing football culture, but it's amazing school as well, and having both of those be accountable throughout everybody, and the alignment of everybody being on the same page, that if you're not going to do this, and this right, then you're not going to practice, and that's something that needs
to be done, so that we're all on the same page, and everybody trusts each other, because if I can trust you to go to class, if I can trust you to do things, maybe you don't want to do, then I can trust you on the field when it's the fourth quarter, and we have one minute left in the game. On your left, Dan, do you get a lot of questions about the new staff, new offense, but how was your relationship with Tony Alfin grown throughout the transition and how important was it for you that he's back here? I think I've talked about this as my mom, and it's through hard times and changes, you really find out about people, and that relationship either gets stronger or gets weaker, and for me and Coach Alfin, it really got stronger. We went through some rough back and forth, just because I honestly didn't know what was going on, what was happening, didn't get to maybe talk to people as much, and I sometimes block it out and don't want to talk to people, but Coach Alfin demands me to make sure that
I talk about things with him, and for me, him just being there as a mentor, and not even to coach is something that's very important to me, and again, he treats me like one of his sons. I'm really close to his kids and his family, but me and Coach Alfin are great, and that's somebody that I can lean on, and we go back and forth with each other on certain things in the meeting room, and for me, it's his willingness to be able to also hear the feedback for me, and we can have that as a relationship, and that's, I think that shows up between our whole staff, and they've been willing to change and listen to these opinions we have or adopt things we did from last year, and again, it's just really exciting to see that all these coaches are demanding the best out of the players, but also listening to feedback from the players as well. To our Marshal Bryce Underwood, those guys have me pretty fired up for spring football, getting ready for the spring game, which of course is coming up on Saturday, April 18th at 2 p.m. at Michigan Stadium, but between now and then, a lot of football to get to, and a lot of conversations to have, including today, is opening days, so spring hopes journal, cross-majely baseball, great day in that respects as well, a lot to get to here as we roll along on the Michigan Insider on the big 1050 WTK online at the big 1050.com.
