Why All Teenagers Should Get a Job

When I was a teenager, I was aching to get a job. The main reason I wanted to get a job was because I wanted accountability. I saw that a lot of my friends had jobs and I wanted the same thing. When my friends had jobs, they did not market it that much. They would just say, yeah, I need to work on the weekends. And when they would say that, it would be intrigued. I was not one of those guys that you had to force to get a job. I was the one that was begging my parents to get a job. At first, they were like, no, our money. Jobs are not for you right now. Your main focus should be school. But I kept fighting for it until eventually I was able to get a job at subway.

1:03My job at subway taught me a lot in the summer. It taught me the power of responsibility. It taught me the power of dealing with difficult personalities. My manager included. And it taught me the power of gaining money. And spending it responsibly. The first time I got a paycheck, I immediately blew it on protein shakes. But later on, I learned how to save. These were skill sets that I applied to my adult life as well. I can always tell when a kid is not working because they become more spoiled. In order for you not to be spoiled, you need to start working at an early age. I personally think that the working age should be reduced to 13. As soon as you become 18, age is immediately when you should be able to start working. I had to wait up until 16. But I'm pretty sure I would have matured even faster if I started working at age 13. I highly recommend you get your kids to work.
