Hey people, tell us what in the sport, man, you laugh hard this is weekend. And this is a segment we call what make you laugh this weekend. Ha ha ha! Zaz, look, give me your hand for a second here so I can give you some, I want to be with you. I want to tell me how this smells. How do you feel about it? I like it. Does it smell like a cheap baby? Just a cheap, whoa. A cheap baby? Wow, what is that? Whoa. Don't come in here with that. Can't you just do a drap? You're gonna get all lathered up. Can you smell it? You gotta rub it in, come on. I might know where. Yeah, on your nose. The way you would smell something. Yeah, it's going to smell. Yeah, it smells like alcohol. Like a truck with velva. Chris, what was the funniest thing from the sports weekend? Smelling a teal. Kyle Shanahan has arrived in Australia. This Thursday, the 49ers in the Rams play in Australia and Kyle a little thrown off by the time changes over there.
When I look at my clock and it says the time, and then I try to see my family's time, and it says the time, but it says yesterday. I don't even get how that's possible. So I feel like I'm in the future. And then also when we play on our Friday, which I think is the Thursday in the US, we're such creatures of habits. So I call it the day Tuesday. No wait, sorry I call it the day Wednesday, which is the first day we put in a game plan. But I think it's Monday, however though it's Sunday, and the present. So like, I'm going to mess that up all week if you guys ask me. But today is just our first day of the game plan, which is a Wednesday. We'll put in some on a Thursday. Friday is the final part of the game plan. Saturday we walk there when we play on Sunday, which is a Friday in Australia and a Thursday in the US. So don't ever make me do that again. Dan, I've been talking about this for years. If we were all on the Lord's time zone, this would not be an issue. You can't all be on the same time zone because of the sun. Sure you can. We adapt. Humans adapt. You can make your case. Shanahan has changed his tune. He didn't want to do the game. Now he does want to do the game. I wonder who got to him. I'm assuming everyone knows that it's winter over there.
There's going to be cold. The game's going to be cold. Really? What? Also, are you guys aware that I'm going to guess that within five years, all of these teams are going to be playing an international game, right? You hate it. You hate it? Yep. Why are we playing meaningful games overseas? When we have the soccer games here, they're friendly. They're not playing like real games. They're not playing the games that matter. We send over our preseason games over there. Why are we playing regular season games? To make the sport more global, I'm amazed that they always get giant crowds. I am really amazed that they haven't had a sparsely attended game anywhere in the world. And I'm going to guess that they're going to keep expanding until they get a sparsely attended game. 2.0 of my funniest thing. When the 49ers were flying from San Francisco to Australia, Rahim Morris turned 50 on September 3rd. They took off late at night on Wednesday, September 2nd, landed local time Australia, September 4th.
Rahim Morris literally missed his 50th birthday in the air. That damn international date line gets you every time, except they'll get the same date twice when they come back. So you end up being just okay. So I said to my wife, I'm like, you need to plan that the opposite way. All of a sudden you get two birds. Well, somebody's going to get two bird days. Right. Tony, what was the funniest thing from the sports weekend? Happened last night, Florida State is in a dire place across the board. The team is not good. The coaching staff is not good. The power bill maybe did not get paid. We don't know 100% what happened. But the power outage a transformer blue. Bad luck. Transformer blue at Doke Campbell Stadium. The place was dark. They were trying to figure out if they were going to play the game or not. They did in suboptimal lighting in which they played and had four turnovers and lost. It was so funny watching that game. I was like, I can't live like this. The clock and then there's a thing under it that says not the official time. The refs have it on the field. I just I felt so discombobulated. I was like, I cannot live like this.
So did FSU who again had plus four turnovers and lost the first time in like 20 years. That's ever happened. I feel that way NBA games when the 24 second clock is off. And then you don't know when it's going to expire. And the referees are telling the players they're counting down. But I feel like I've lost something. Well, how about when they put the shot clock they have to get the auxiliary shot clock. And they sit it like in the corner. I hate that. I got to know. Jazz, what was the funniest thing from the sports week? All right. So you know, baseball games really any sporting events. They'll do promotions that fans participate in. And a lot of them stink. But when you get a good one, you got to acknowledge that it's a good one. Look at this video here. I love this. This is at the Royals. It's at a Royals Blue J's game. It's in Toronto. No, it's in Kansas City. Like I said, it's in Kansas City. A lot of people on the internet thought it was in Toronto, but they were corrected. It's in Kansas City. And they have an inflatable bun on one side of the lower level. And on the other side is an inflatable hot dog.
It's like, and the fans need to need to, need to, you know, combine them. Bring them together and see how much time it takes for the hot dog. Come on, baby. To get into the bun. Come on, dog. This is very exciting. Get it there. You only get 30 seconds. Get it there. Yeah. And right there. Got it. That's a great promotion. That is good shit. Great promotions. Free hot dogs for everyone. It's awesome. Everyone will look forward to that every game. It's a great promotion. Man, that was some good shit. Roy, what was the funniest thing from this forced weekend? During a press conference, Arina Sabalinka described what she was smelling during her match at the US Open. Tell us about the bizarre moment in set one where you had to tell the umpire that you could spell we. What was going through your mind at that stage? Have you ever encountered that before? I was like, guys, you can do whatever. You can smoke whatever. You can relax as much as you can. But please do not do it around the tennis courts. It's a bit tricky to handle. That's my whole while you're trying to compete at your best.
She's so right. There's nothing like, there's nothing worse than that feeling of missing out. When you're not in on it, you weren't invited on the stroll. Do you ever go to the garden? You must have covered the mats that square garden during the 80s. You play basketball with weed being smoked at the blue seats. That weed was dank. The orange ball. I remember being like seven years old and me like, what's that smell? My dad's like, don't worry about it now. And I'm like, oh, I will never get used to people just walking openly in New York, smoking weed. Like, given what the stigma on this was, as recently as I'm going to say five years ago, it's just crazy to me. David, what is the funniest thing from the sports weekend? Anyone who can make me feel better about my biggest mistakes. So there was a game. I don't know if you saw where Stanford, they ran out of beer. Did you see it? First, it was against Miami. And I'm in. I want it. What? You're in on that? I'm in. And here's why. Because people thought we ran out of hot dogs one year. That made you were all over me. Yeah, I will. Because you were more hot dogs. Bullshit. And I explained to you, it wasn't my fault.
I'm not in charge of the hot dogs at pro player. But in any case, now that Stanford did it, I feel better. So that was funny to me. They ran out in the first quarter. First half, I've seen mixed reports. I saw some tweets that said first quarter, I can guarantee though, first, I feel good getting behind my reporting. At least the first half. I note you feel like David, because today, Chris has put such an incredible performance together, that my tire toss idea from last week has not been rescinded completely. With Matt, by the way, you're producer Matthew Cokka, ruined the bit. Because he wouldn't lose. No, because he wouldn't make one. All you need to do is make one. I want to select Michigan fans storming the field after beating Western Michigan. That part is funny, but I can't not on a weekend where I've read a vanity fair article that says that Lane Kiffin went hitting on women who weren't his wife in Alabama, went by the alias Joey Freshwater. How is this not getting more traction everywhere in the United States?
Amin is here, Amin Elhasen is here. Do we have in our library the Nathan Fielder, Elizabeth Holmes trailer? Because this promises to be an exceptional movie. If you think Nathan Fielder is doing comedy that no one else in America is doing, and I think he just does awkward comedy. It makes me a little uncomfortable. I get second embarrassment. Okay, so Elizabeth Holmes, if you're not familiar with her story, everybody's been wondering how it is that the Theranos founder who built a lot of people is going to be making her comeback. And I just can't believe this is a marriage made in heaven here. For those of you who do not know Elizabeth Holmes, there have been documentaries made about her. She claimed with false the science and medicine that she had an easy way to test people's blood and she made a lot of money. But she's a complete fraud. I just said that. And so you're going to have to leave right now. Definitely just there. I see.
I see. I see. I see. You have to get out of here. But while he's leaving, let's just play this clip. Do you know who Nathan Fielder is? Yes, of course. Okay. So he loves awkward. And here he is sitting down with Elizabeth Holmes as part of the teaser for a trailer for a movie that's coming out in October from 824 that only makes good things. I'm not that person. I can promise you that. I don't have anything to deceive you on. Of course, I'm not deceiving you. I'm engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that. Okay. All right. Okay, good shot.
You're being real right now. You're always being real. So he's really close to her face. He's staring at her and she has giant eyes. He's doing the Larry David lie detector stare. I mean, how excited are you about this, about this movie? Then I can't wait. I'm a huge fan of Nathan Fielder. Nathan for you, the rehearsal, everything he does that is reality based like this. He is incredible at because it's almost like he's a little bit of a sociopath himself. And so he's like, a sociopath himself. And so his ability to sit in the discomfort and sit in the silence and just wait it out is unparalleled. And so now when he's facing off with a real life sociopath in Elizabeth Holmes, I just know the sparks are going to fly. I can't wait. I don't understand. I mean, like, why would she have agreed to allow them to make this film before she went to prison?
I mean, I believe because she exhibits the behaviors of a sociopath. She thinks she can get her, you know, scam her way out of even this. She will just see if they just had to sit down and someone spent some time with me. It's either nothing wrong. I'm sure that's what she thinks or she thinks that she can convey and what she fails to realize is, no, it's even more obvious. Just look at the weird smile on her face. Well, say it all this. Why would that be the expression that you have on your face? Zazlow, you have famously said on this show that you get secondhand embarrassment while watching that trailer. Do you get uncomfortable? No, I was okay with that trailer, but I do get a little bit uncomfortable with some of Nathan Fielder's other work. So if I'm getting three hours of that, there's probably going to be moments in the movie that I have to, you know, hit the pause button and get out of my way. Is it three hours? Wait, I mean, it's not three hours yet. It takes three hours. That movie is three hours. Nathan Fielder spent three hours with this crazy person.
Oh, he spent a lot more than three hours with her. The movie ended up three hours. No, I mean, he spent so much time with her that he made, he had to make a three hour movie with her. Yeah, the runtime was 174 minutes and the people who saw it, they're like, it flies. It doesn't feel like three hours. Football season is officially back, which means my weekends no longer belong to me. Saturday is for college football, the second I wake up. And then, we do it all over again with the NFL. And somewhere in there, I'll probably convince myself I need one more TV. This is what we've been waiting for, right? Getting friends together, having the games on all day, arguing about teams. We barely watched and worked up opinions over. Having a cold Miller Light in my hand? That's what makes it legendary folks. That's a legendary game day for me. Miller Light is my go-to because it's crisp, refreshing, and has a clean finish. Miller Light cools my body down. Sometimes I hold that beautiful white cam right to the forehead instantly. The temperature drops and the vibes go up. Make game day legendary.

Michael Jackson. Yes. The king of pop. Yes, he does. Yeah, Michael Jackson. Yeah, Michael Jackson. And there's I show speed. Yeah. Similar response. Similar response. Similar response. You don't know Michael Jackson. I show speed. OK. Jenna dan sassolo. You sound like an embarrassing person. You sound old as shit. This is the DLB at our show. Let's go ahead and do means weekend observations. In this time for him to share his game notes.
No one in the media will tell you what happened better than my boy. I'm not sure if you can see. We can observations is brought to you by Miller light. Legend there. Legend there. Legend there. Moments start with the light. Dan. Nothing says Labor Day weekend. Like labor during the weekend. Laborious. Also, Labor Day weekend. Really big weekend for messages. For instance, Labor Day. I don't know if you guys know this is about workers rights. I started with like the Pullmans, I believe, went on strike. And the president said, hey, we'll give him Labor Day. And that will keep him quiet. That's the message of Labor Day. Worker rights. Well, LSU. Tent the message to the SEC. We'll do it without NFL players. Dabo sent a message to Clemson. The jig is up. Western Michigan sent the message to Michigan.
Watch your ass. The NBA sent a message to the Clippers. That's your ass. And Pablo Torrey finds out sent a message to ESPN. You sure about that? You sure about that report? No, I didn't. I didn't have anything. You sure about that? You want to say about that one? Yeah. That's the point you want to say about it? Yeah. Okay. The question I was asked the most since the punishments came out then. How could he have been gotten so wrong? The on Van Nader, Ramona Shelber, these are great journalists. They do their job. How could they got it wrong? And guys, they did the homework. They did the research. And I found out how. Congratulations to Fibula for becoming editor in chief of ESPN.com. Everyone, well, I love applause for Fibula. He did it. Good job, Fibula. Good job, Fibs. All right, Fibs.
And to present a very special top five, let's welcome Fibula. Hey, Fibula. Welcome. Hey, everybody. Fibula, how are you doing? Okay, these top five stories I've resided over while editor in chief of ESPN.com. Fibula. OLI. NBA finds zero evidence. Clipers funneled money to quiet land out. Oh no. Number five. No link between head on football collisions and CTE. Number four. Don Gruden among favorites for NAACP Image Award. Clip. Number three. Jose Gonzago. Jose Gonzago. Just follow him. Jose Gonzago. Jose Gonzago. He's everything about him. Thumbs up.
Number two. New evidence shows 1990 Chicago White Sox defeated fair and square in the World Series. And the number one story I've presided over as Editor in chief at ESPN.com. Isla Braun James chooses Miami over Philly, Cleveland and Golden. Wait, hold on. No, that was middle or come. Sorry. Hold on. Done. My mistake. No, it is unsalering corn suspended for wearing hat to skew while dog eating. Missy promotion and race. He got it right, guys. Really, Fibula doesn't like personality with baseball. He sides with notorious dog eddings. Well, I just signed with the true Dan. That's what everybody knows about Fibula. Thanks, Fibula. Thank you. Hey, I love you too. All right, Fibula. Way to go, Fibula.
See you later, Fibs. Fibs. Speaking of the White Sox, I got the part taken of White Sox game this weekend, guys. Fun times. First of all, shout out to Fred, who was working my section. He gets the show. And I told him I shout him out. So there you go, Fred. Found out a couple of things at the game. Found that number one that the White Sox are good. When did this become a brand new bar? When did the show become a panel bar? You told Fred you'd shout him out and waste our time? He gets the shout out and then he gets the, hey, he told me to give him a shout out. Okay. All right. He didn't tell me. He didn't tell me. I told him. All right, Fred. I was holding two millilights and I said, and he said, hey, I get the show. And I said, Fred, I'm going to shout you out during weekend observation. I have to travel down. I have to go to bed. That's a big swing. Yeah, you told us all that already. We heard that the first time. No, I didn't tell you about the millilight. And that's probably the most important part of the story. And move the top of 50 millilights. That's two millilights. The legend. Legendary moments start with the light. Really legendary moments start with two lights.
Thank you, Fred. So I found out that the White Sox are good. courtesy of my barber. They're okay. From worse, from worse to first. They were the worst in the vision. Now the first in the vision. There's good then. That's good. No, I mean, they're okay. That the American League is not. They're good. They're good. David, you're also some masher. Also some masher. That they hit. Yes. Got some masher. How about that Montgomery? They're going to have two Montgomery run home run hitters than anybody. So yeah, then, get this season. Get your baseball knowledge up there. And we're trying to teach you something here. I went boots on the ground to find out this information. David, baseball expert. And you're sitting here poo pooing the information. You know what you sound like. Sound like all those people hitting on Pablo. Oh, poo poo information. Did you see Justin Ishpia when you were at the game? I did not. I was looking for him though, but again, two millilights. Justin, you know who Justin Ishpia is, Dan?
No, who's going to do that? That's not nice. Who's just kidding? He's taking over for Jerry Rhyme's or if he's going to own the White Sox and he released renderings of what a new stadium will look like in Chicago. Yep. And they were done with AI. Like, there's no renderings. There's no documents. There's no, he has no plan. But he released something to be cool. And we've dipped on an episode on Ishpia. His brother, Matt Ishpia, by the way, who's business is in the absolute toilet. And so, Justin. Take business, by the way. Sit right. So, Justin. It's a big issue in Chicago. Works hard. Justin may not have what it takes to get a stadium done. So, he decided to release the renderings. And I was hoping to mean we'd be doing work while at the White Sox game. Well, two-minute-life says I did a lot of work. I also found out that the team of the South Side, the blue-collar worker, not like those rich North Side people, the Chicago White Sox crowd is a little bit of a wine and cheese crowd. I mean, David, the twins' batters would be up, two strikes, two outs,
and everyone just sit there and I'm like, come on, guys, let's get loud. And they're all looking at me. I'm like, I don't even care about this team. Why am I the person who knows these things? I'm not even a baseball fan. They were so docile. It blew my mind. The South Side is not just the cast of Shameless. There's a big cast. Shameless is what that crowd is, Shameless. And the North Side, they were. Cubs are way more ra-ra-ra-out guests. Rockets. Rockets. Rockets. Rockets. What? Words that we've read but never heard aloud. Why didn't you just say rowdy. Wouldn't that have been easy if it started to? I started roul-roulers. Rockets. God. The cubs are good. The cubs are good. The white socks are okay. Cubs fans are rockets. I also found out that white people are still raising the roof like it's 1998. They did in one of the breaks between Inc. Yeah, there it is Chris. They were going hand like it just came out.
I also found out that the White Sox promo department is the hardest working promo department in all of Team Sports. Because guys during this one game I went to they had alternate Jersey night where their jerseys look like the Bulls jerseys red with Chicago. They had Harry Potter night. You see the hats there and they were giving away warrants. They had boy band night so every break they were playing back street boys and new edition and new kids on the block and everything. And they had fireworks night at the end of the show. At the end of the game we had a fireworks show that everyone stayed for. Ladies and gentlemen this all happened on a Friday of Labor Day weekend. You had to do all that shit to sell tickets, promotions to pop up with the White Sox. Get a round of applause. You guys bust your ass. For the best team in the division. No less. Firework Friday. Well, it's not. Firework Friday and boy band night and Harry Potter night and alternate Jersey night and it's Labor Day weekend.
Very minor league. Welcome to the party. No, 81 home games. There you go. There you go. Good job. I mean did you see Jettinish? Gabby Engelpert. Ah. Ah. Gabby Engelpert. We hardly knew you. You resigned guys. Did you see that? Yep. I'm so happy. David just ignored David there. You just ignored him. I thought that was a sound. I thought Roy played a sound. That was David asking a second time. Yeah, it was just a nice sound judgment is what it was. Yes. David, how will history remember a cat the Engelpert? They won't. Oh, damn, but the minimum salaries went up tremendously. They got like charter travel. The league expanded. It's unprecedented success. I feel like. Like are you can't the Engelpert? You walk out of the same. You're welcome or do you walk out like you slink away? Nine and a half out of ten people couldn't name the WMBA commissioner in a survey.
Okay. But what about all the other stuff he just said? The stuff did get accomplished by Adam Silver with the WMBA, but very recently that was it. I would guess that she walks out of you unlike you. You're giving Silver the credit for it. You're giving Silver the credit for it. Adam Silver is the commissioner of the WMBA. You're giving Silver the credit for what Engelpert's advancements for it. Yes. Okay. I agree with him. Charles Barkley says this is going to be his last year of broadcasting. Unless Ernie Johnson changes his mind. Two things. Number one, I'll believe it when I see it Chuck the whole. This is my last year thing we've seen it before. But number two, did he just sell out Ernie? I didn't know Ernie said this is his last year. Is this real? Do we know this is Ernie Johnson's last year? Has Ernie come out and said that? And if not, did Charles just betray him? I agree. Cody. That seemed like what happened there. Yes. Because Ernie has not said that yet. US Open having a problem with credentialed influencers.
Being loud at inappropriate times for their dumb ass TikTok trend videos. I'm going to say it. I would rather see all of organized sports collapse and all of us go out of business. We all got to learn to trade or something. Before I see any sport couched out to these dumb ass children who don't give a f*** about anything that isn't in the selfie mode screen of their phones. Enough. Or as David says in Yiddish. Kanuga. Oh, you're case so close. You set it up and then faltered at the altar. Kanuga. How do you say it? Kanuga. Kanuga. Kanuga. Yeah. Good luck, man. Enough. Kanuga. I hate it. We're older. Well, you know that. That's where something else. Shame on a Kanuga. I'm not saying for to say head coach Mike Norbell seed is hot. But SMU whipped up eggs and bacon on that shit last night.
And that's what the lights off. GK Metcalf thinks there's a secret civilization hidden under Antarctica. Now, I think to the athletic that quote, I'm a big conspiracy theorist. Shout out my quarterback. Good teammate or bad teammate. Anyone? Do we know what's under there to be fair? Yeah, ice. Maybe. Core. Kiyote versus Akmi. Beautiful movie. Everyone should go see it because it is unintentionally very self-referential. It's about obviously the Kiyote from Moonitunes filing a class action lawsuit against the Akmi corporation that makes all of the stuff that he uses to hunt down the road runner, the rocket skates, the anvil, everything, right? And they never work. And so it goes to court. And it goes all the way up to the highest court in the land.
And it's all about big corporations being evil and taking advantage of people because they can. Which is funny because this movie was made by Warner Brothers and then shelled as a tax write-off when they made the merger with Discovery. And it wasn't until an independent film distributor bought the rights to the movie from them that we finally got to see it. And so watching this movie is the ultimate f**k you to Warner Brothers Discovery. Unless they're a partner in which case what a great movie you guys made. Glad we got to see it. I don't know if Malachi Tony could have put up more receiving on an empty practice field with a jugs machine. 240 yards, is that what he got? 234. Defense. Try it sometimes. Mollaki. Big 10 official say Michigan WMU ended with a clock discrepancy.
There hasn't been a clock discrepancy that big since Fabulous Prom night. Oh hold on wait wait wait wait wait wait. Whatever she said it was way bigger. I don't know what she's talking about okay. So let's just bump the brakes on that one. Okay Fabulous. Christopher Bell won the NASCAR Southern 500. I wish Mike was here. I'd love their opinions of Ciccainen on how this Cubs series playoff is going to play out. I'll be totally honest I don't care about NASCAR. I just want to see Ciccainen. One time with Mike in the studio. Jumshin win. Back to back come back from 5-0 down. An underdog tail. Speaking of underdogs is it odd that I find myself rooting hard for Lane Kiffin. Joey Freshwater. Joey Freshwater. What a name. Joey Freshwater. My people once owned this land for as far as the eye can see.
Tataankha. How did Team USA almost lose the Italy? They shot less than 30% from the field. They had one score in double fingers. It wasn't her. She had one point and scored their lowest point total in 55 years. You better figure out that two, three zone before facing real competition. Denisovov episode 323. Hollow man. Starring Kevin Bacon. Elizabeth Shoe. Greg Gunberg. Josh Brolin in an era of his career called quote-career decline on his Wikipedia page. The amount of sexual assault in this movie is staggering. Even for a movie that came out in the year 2000. Denisov, wherever you get podcasts. And finally, you already talked about this, but there's not a movie I'm more excited for this year. The Nathan Field is documented about the terminal scam art at Elizabeth Holmes. Quote, you can see everything. This man made this while also learning how to be a commercial airline pilot.
In case you guys missed it season two of the rehearsal, was him learning how to fly a 737 with people on board. So he did that simultaneously taking on the FAA and the way that we train pilots in this country while also spending however long he did with Elizabeth Holmes. Nathan Field, what the hell? Speaking of hell, Argentina, those are the weekend observations. Tony, you know that moment at a party or a tailgate where everything just sort of clicks. I know it well. It's usually when I show up. Everybody goes crazy. Yeah, you usually take all the credit for it, but it's because Tony usually walks in with queer blockin' like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Quervo is a thing that turns hanging out into this is the night. It has that effect on people. It does. You usually take the credit for it, but again, it's the quervo effect. It's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up, hooting and hollering. Keep it quervo. Keep it quervo, baby.
Down lebatar. For five minutes, I was watching everyone just like, nope, not letting you in, not letting you in. So when I got up there, I had to say something and I said it. Cheaters never prosper. Chris Cody. My buddy was saying not today. Yeah, but you're trying today. Okay, so I think that was what he was adding. Yeah, that's something better. I'm telling you, the response I got from this guy, what I said was amazing. I like it. He got him. Cheaters never prosper. This guy yelled as angry as he could. I'm cheating. I didn't see sleep there, lebatar show. I mean, thank you. There are not a lot of people in entertainment or any doing more interesting things than Nathan Field or the degree of difficulty on what it is that he did. Before we let you go, though, I mean, any final thoughts on the Clippers, Balmer stuff from the last four days and five days of consuming things that put a ribbon on that story for us? Yeah, like David, I'm surprised that people were surprised.
If you'd listened to any of our episodes, you would have known that there's just a mountain of evidence. I know a lot of former athletes don't listen to podcasts and they don't listen to things and they don't read. They just get a headline and now we're going to run within, do our podcasts off of that. And that's fine and it's entertaining, but just understand not every podcast is just give me a list of headlines and we'll react to it blindly. Some podcasts actually go and do the work and the research and the interviews and the studying and the knowledge of the salary cap and the knowledge of the history of the league and then have a very detailed informed discussion about that information. Just put it out there because I know a lot of people think every show is like their show. And then finally, again, I would say to whoever reported on that Clippers ESPN story a few weeks ago, there's no shame in getting it wrong. I believe you did your best. I believe you were misled by your sources, but I think the time comes where you have to come out and say, wow, did we get this wrong?
Wow, we were led to believe this and what actually was happening with this, not to remain silent, definitely not to defend the Clippers and tell them, oh my God, this was too harsh of a punishment. I am not someone to be making fun of anybody about sort of hiccuping and stuttering through a word given the way that I struggled with the word matriculate once upon a time. But what are your thoughts here, Amine, on David Samson trying to say, rock us this way? R-r-rout, yes. Shocked, honestly, because David, I find David to be a very well-spoken guy. He reads a lot, so he knows a lot of words. He's very verbose, rich vocabulary. And for him to stumble on what I would think is a pretty simple word is kind of funny. But then again, I'm also the guy who can't spell the word privilege. I still mess it up and I don't know. We just have these blind spots, Dan. Everyone has one. And for me, it's spelling the word privilege. I still don't know how to spell it. Don't ask me to spell it. R-r-rout, yes.
Thank you, Amine. Good to see you. Also, amenable, amenable, amenable, amenable. Am I doing a thing? Am I just naval gays when I say amenable? Is that amenable? I don't know. R-r-rout, yes. I'm just going to say amenable with restaurant. You sometimes. Yeah, where does it go? Thank you, Amine. Appreciate it. We are going to have our sui winners at the end of the post game show. But I didn't want to get out of here for this hour without talking about the athletics investigation into Diana Rousini that revealed inappropriate newsroom conduct, but no bias in the reporting. I also wanted to get to this Tony Ramos story from last week, because I thought it was interesting that he basically said I've been in debilitating constant pain. And this was about my efforts to get off of the meds with alcohol, which I thought was a surprisingly open statement that he didn't have to make if not under the pressure of his job. Isn't it the same as when you get caught in a fair, you go to sex addict school because you got caught?
You'll go to school. You go to the rehab. You go to the rehab. And then rehab helps you stop school though. I enjoyed the fact that Tony gets that and then says, wait a minute, I was on pills bad. But then it got me on out while trying to get off pills bad. And then I got a DWI really bad in Milwaukee. Yeah, let the reason be whatever the reason is, you don't then get to drive drunk. No matter what you're getting over, I just don't enjoy the concept of what we do in terms of making excuses. We talked about it with the Clippers right just to own it. Yeah, I was at the golf course. I drank. I shouldn't have driven. I can afford a new or so. But I thought this was extra owning it though. He gave us more information that we needed to have some excuses buried in there. But he does, it's all of it. You're ignoring. He does take accountability. But there are some. It's couched with plenty of excuses or explanations. There is no explanation for driving drunk. Yeah, none. Zero. Zero. Zero. He's explaining it. No. You can dismiss it as excuses.
He's explaining it. There is no excuse for driving drunk ever. And it doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor, there is no excuse for it. And it bothers me. And what we do, you know, having an affair, you have an affair. You go to sex addict school, you go to sex addict school. But you don't kill anyone. I don't think it's sex addict school. I think at school they teach you how to teach you how to do it. They teach you how to do it. They teach how to stop. And you're not allowed to laugh. When I teach how to stop sex. I was always told that the teacher was safe. He laughed. When we say names of by parts, you're kicked out. You get an education here? Can't laugh. The girl next door. I always wanted the video. I would just go back and tell you that if you have an affair and you get caught, okay, no one's dying. Sex school. People can get upset. People can get angry. There can be divorce. When you drive drunk, there is the possibility of loss of life for someone else. I view those as very different. They are different. Now I've gotten off track though because I've got a minute left to talk. I imagine a sex scene story. You'll cover it. The thing is, I remember Norma Donald talking about why he didn't drive.
I know it's obviously normalized driving. But he's like, yeah, someone's going 70 miles an hour next to me. There's this far away from you. I've got a lot on the fact that they're paying attention. It's insane what we do. Dangerous. You shouldn't do it drunk. You shouldn't do it at all. We need to get from place to place. But you can't trust that the person next to you is not a fool who's texting while he's driving. I was thinking about that on a 95 yesterday. The fact that I'm going 80 this far. You're trusting all of these people next to you. I can't trust it. I drove scared for the first time and it made me feel old. You veer a little bit. You're like, up almost, Dad. That's exactly. I can't drive scared. I can't do it. I can't drive scared. It's like playing scared. You get hurt. You get hurt. Exactly right. You can't ski anymore as you get older because you ski differently. You get hurt. The point to the matter is Tony Romo made excuses. And it's not going to be accepted by anybody. Thoughts on the athletic? We've got four seconds. Can look us.
