Hello, welcome to the Stupid History Minute.
I'm your host, Kepp Pound.
Today, we're talking about Tancarray.
Tancarray was founded in 1830 by Charles Tancarray in London's Bloomsbury District.
At the time when gin, quality varied widely, Tancarray focused on refining a clean crisp
London dry style using a precise blend of botanicals, most notably juniper, coriander,
angelica root, and licorice.
The original distillery was largely destroyed due to World War II, but the brand survived
and production continued in Scotland.
Tancarray became globally recognized for its distinctive green bottle inspired by cocktail
shakers.
Today, it's owned by Dia Gio and remains one of the world's best-selling premium gins,
known for its consistency and bold juniper-forward flavor.
