Hello, welcome to the stupid instrument. I'm your host, Keb Pound. Today we're talking about
Hendrix. Hendrix Gin was launched in 1999 by Scottish distiller William Grant & Sons,
the same company behind Glenfiddich. The brand was developed by Master Distiller Lesley
Gracie at the Garvin Distillery in Scotland. What makes Hendrix different is it's unusual
infusion of cucumber and rose petals layered over the traditional gin base of juniper and
botanicals. It's produced in small batches using two different stills, a Carter head still
from 1948 and a rare Bennett still from the 1860s. The quirky Victorian branding helped
Hendrix stand out and become a major player in the premium gin boom. This has been the
stupid instrument and I'm Keb Pound.
