1:28Not much has gone well for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start this season. Not much at all. We'll get into that a little bit later with Pat. But as I mentioned, I know Tuesday's kind of the day that we still look back and there are still things to go back to. For instance, we played the clip there and I probably should have done a little bit better job of editing. I apologize if you had young ears in the car. But the offensive coordinator grubbed there for Alabama, chastising the fans for quitting and booing the team. You were losing the floor to state. By the way, there's a reason that Nick Sabin never let coordinators speak. You're the reason. I mean, wow. It's crazy to me how much that program is just different. And I know, like, no one will ever be Nick Sabin, but it is so night and day from what I think everyone's grown accustomed to of what Alabama. Why are they starting out so poorly?

2:28I still think Alabama's a playoff team. I mean, I guess that's because I picked that in August. So I'm going to stick with what I have right now. And the fact that the Big Ten has not looked very representative so far. So I mean, right now, look, we got a lot of season to play. But right now, if I were to say two ACC and then you've got Notre Dame, one big 12, one group of five, that's five teams that leaves us with seven more. I think it would be a four three cut because I still think the Big Ten gets in three. But if Louisville were to take a, you know what? And we end up with one. I right right now, I think it's safe to say you'd go five three SEC Big Ten. But with Alabama specifically, what do you think the reason has been they trailed Kentucky at the half? They look like crap for a while against Florida State and they figured it out in both games. And there are offenses been able to roll. But where do you see the problems with first half of Bama right now?

3:32I really can't figure it out because I mean, they get so explosive. Like you said, they just are slow to start. I don't, it doesn't look like a scheme thing. They figured out how to run the ball a little bit now. Right. They got a five start running back. Yeah, they've got a five start quarterback and a quarterback who can also run. I mean, he throw, he's athletic and throws the ball well. So I'm just confused as to these slow starts for Alabama. They need to figure that out. But you know, that's just, you know, and I know yesterday, you're on Sunday when you and I talked, you wanted to come at the Big Ten and you kind of left it alone yesterday. It has been a very rough start for the Big Ten. You know, obviously we had the Michigan game against Western Michigan. You know, Ohio States looked, I mean, yeah, they lost to Texas. They lost on the road. If they were to play Texas Tech 10 times, Texas 10 times, not Texas Tech. But if Ohio State played the long horns 10 times and it were five five, would anybody

4:33be surprised? And if Ohio State won six out of 10, would anybody be that surprised? So you know, the buck eyes to me are still the buck eyes. I'm fine. I think that defense continues to get better. I'm not worried about their offense. But USC went to Rutgers, one of the worst teams in power for football and struggled. Okay, they had to travel across the country. We'll make that built in excuse. Yeah, they needed a corner and a half to figure out what their offense was against what Western Kentucky, Western Kentucky might be one of the five worst teams in the country right now. I don't. Oregon, you know, Oregon lost to Oklahoma State there. So I mean, the Big Ten right now, yeah, Penn states won their games. They haven't played anybody. I won't. No, well, they, you know, they, what do they get Michigan and they get USC? And I think that's it. So I just wonder right now, who's going to emerge like Michigan and Iowa play.

5:42I mean, bet the under, but you know, what do we get more punting yards out of Iowa or total yards in the game? Well, I'd go punting yards. I mean, it's honestly a shame Cleveland's not in Iowa because they both loved to punt. I would go total yards because even if Iowa punts 10 times, that's only 400 yard in punts. And I think the game will produce more total yardage than that. But I think it's a fun prop bet. So I mentioned though this Saturday, there is outstanding football. The SEC in and of itself has a day. Here are just the SEC games for the day on Saturday. We get Texas at Tennessee. That's a nooner. 330 Oklahoma and Georgia. Old Miss and Florida, A&M at LSU, South Carolina at Alabama and Missouri at Mississippi state.

6:50By the way, we told you Mississippi state would get somebody. Now I don't know if you consider South Carolina somebody. I have trouble doing that. But it might not be the only time they win a game they're not supposed to. No, and I certainly don't think it will. They're they are going to get somebody actually legit because like you said, I don't I don't think South Carolina is it. We said beamers probably going to get fired this year and they were chanting it at the stadium Saturday. But Mississippi state after beating South Carolina for the record, they've got Missouri this week and as they host Alabama in this Taylor kid can play. So Alabama, my advice to you when you play the Bulldogs, I don't think you want to take the first half off probably not because they could they could put some points up and he's just going to get better as the season goes on. And now I don't think they would you know, Mississippi states at Texas this year and they you know, they gave him a scare last year. So I don't think that that happens.

7:50They're at LSU. I don't think that happens. They're at Ole Miss. Interesting. That happens. I don't think the egg ball. They're not winning the egg ball in Oxford, but they get Alabama. They got Missouri this week and I don't think that highly a Missouri even though they're ranked and they get Oklahoma at all at home. One of those three is going down. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. I'd say two of them. So that's just your games in the SEC. Let me give you some other ones this week that are, you know, these what I would call, I'm not even going to call them chicken wings because that's like the elite appetizer. That's as good as it gets in football. In fact, I have now have my wing game is at such a point that both my wife and daughter said, you know what I really like about football is that we have wings every weekend. But Wake Forest is at Louisville. Wake Forest is okay. Sneaky team. Right.

8:50That's a nooner. Another nooner that's to me in the, you know, in the appetizer, right? You know, let's call it a dumpling. Let's say you're at the Chinese place and you're getting a dumpling. UCLA at Maryland. Two good quarterbacks. That could be an entertaining football game. Those are both noon games. So we already mentioned three 30. You got the Gators and Ole Miss. You got George and Oklahoma. So I mean, that's that's pretty solid. UCF and TCU. That's a decent game. TCUs, little more than a field goal favorite. Sneaky game of the week. It's in Kalamazoo Michigan kids. Western Michigan. That should be undefeated. The NCAA has ruled that they should be undefeated, but they can't do anything about it. In a battle of two in one teams, Boise State on the road at Western Michigan. That's a fun little group of six game there.

9:51Iowa and Michigan at 330. They're both ranked. Who knows how good they are. You know, Vandy and Auburn didn't even talk about that on the SEC list. Sneaky good game. Wes Kahnzen hasn't shown anything. They're at Penn State. So, you know, but this is the one thing now. Now we're starting to get a little meat on the boat. West Virginia. You had a monster win last week with Rich Rod. You got Oklahoma State coming to you. Take care of business and win that game. Organs at USC. Oregon. Can they get off the mat after that horrible performance and USC? They stunk up the joint against Rutgers, but they won and Lincoln Riley talking about the fake punt really threw us off. Are you kidding me? How many excuses can you make, dude? Plenty more. I don't think he's long for the coaching world. He's another one. The game's passed him by. So that's just some of the games.

10:51There are people out there that are upset with the rankings in college football. If you've listened to Miller and Molten for any length of time, look, if the polls aren't going away, people click on the polls, people talk about the polls, people like the polls. I happen to hate them. I don't think they should come out until mid-October at the earliest. But because of that, we get set with certain teams. Like the fact that right now, Texas A&M is ranked 23rd in the country and Kentucky's not ranked. Yes. Can someone explain that to me? Kentucky had a lead at the half against eighth ranked Alabama. Then they beat Texas A&M. So if you want to take quality of loss, well, their loss was against the top 10 team. A&M lost to a team that, and your poll, they're not ranked.

11:54What the hell? And by the way, that's the AP. That's the writers. So don't give me this SID filling out the rankings crap. I'm convinced they don't watch either, though. I mean, the AP polls, both the polls are a joke. Some of them do. Like Matt Baker, who's been on this show with Ton. Matt not only, I think, takes his vote very seriously. He publishes his vote every week. So you can, here's what my top 25 looks like. So there's say that's a nice point. You can look at what they all vote, but I mean, like, I don't think Missouri should be ranked. I don't think A&M should be ranked if we're going to put Ohio State on a pedestal for a close loss. Like you said, why are we not doing the same for Kentucky? Missouri will see. I mean, they haven't lost yet. I don't think that, you know, I think Washington who's just outside of it should be probably ranked. If we're going to put Oregon at 20, I think boys, he could slide in there, but it's just, you know, there's no reason to be ranking teams this early.

12:55And we all know why they do it. But the Kentucky one has me a little baffled. And for that matter, West Virginia should probably be ranked. You know, we all thought reasonably highly of a veteran Virginia team. Well, they won that game and didn't have a problem doing so. So that's a little bit already looking ahead to Saturday. John Somerow was asked in his presser about it. He said the people in Vegas are on drugs. I don't know. They keep making new bigger and taller casinos. But I thought Harbard did an amazing job last year coaching. I did. I did not think that that was the most talented team. 16:13that takes time. I mean, everybody, you know, we have a, you know, I pay attention to the lines. I'm from Michigan originally with both Glenn and Ben Johnson leaving the lions weren't the same. Will they be going forward? Still don't think the defense is there, but as the offense figured it out now that there are a couple of years removed from Ben Johnson. But we've already mentioned it. We're without a lot of quarterbacks already this year. And we're going to get into the quarterback discussion here coming up in a little bit because we kind of, there are certain guys that we just take and we push under the side that they're either really good or their average, but there are so many young quarterbacks out there. They did below a game that they had. You can question coaching. You can question play calling. You can question quarterback play. Okay.

24:38Let's just stop there as Georgia played anybody. Nope. They haven't Miami. Nope. Indiana. Nope. I get it. I get your arguments. I will say just if we're basing this off of last year, too, because a lot of these polls are based on how you finished. Well, Indiana won the nadi in Miami played for it. So if you want to say maybe you deserve to be ahead of Georgia and I don't think you do for the record because you do have a loss. I mean, if you look at the rankings, look at all of the teams that Ohio State is ranked ahead of. That's undefeated Alabama. Okay. I mean, I think you deserve it. You know, obviously the USA. So I think Ohio State's ranked about perfectly. I really do. I don't know who I would I wouldn't put anyone ahead of them. That's behind them. Alabama, I would consider, but I'm fine with it. And I don't think I would have Ohio State ahead of anyone that they're behind Texas,

25:40Georgia, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Indiana, Miami. I don't think so. They're right where they should be. They are. Yeah. No. I'm fine with that. But love your comments. Keep them coming. But I wanted to talk about NFL quarterbacks and young NFL quarterbacks. I hope I have this list right because what I tried to look up was quarterbacks who are in their fourth year or less in the league. Okay. I'm not trying to go for guys that have been around a while. These are the quarterbacks that are in their fourth year or less and are starting or at least they were until they were hurt. So you've got CJ Stroud and Bryce Young. You've got Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake May, Bow Nicks.

26:43And then you got Cam Ward, Tyler Schuck and Jason Dart. Now, obviously Daniels, Williams and Dart are all hurt right now. Which of those guys Jacob Stroud, Young, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake May, Bow Nicks, Cam Ward, Tyler Schuck, Jake Jackson Dart. Which one right now would you essentially put your job on the line to start your franchise with? And I guess I'm saying that in terms of not you selling, what is it, ag where? Where parts, agricultural where parts. I'll get that right by the end of the show. Not even your co-hosting job. You're the NFL GM at the moment. Which of those quarterbacks would you put your job, your reputation on to lead to be the face of your franchise and you think you've got someone, you know, for a decade. I mean, I think it's fair to say if you're in your fourth year or less and that doesn't have any of the rookies on it because there's nothing there yet.

27:44You know, we don't know. So out of that list is there someone you'd put your reputation on to be your long term starter and if so, who would it be? Gosh, if it would get me fired, I'd be really, really worried about it. I think it's either Nick's or May and I lean Drake May. I'd tell you mine would have been Jaden Daniels. He just can't stay healthy. Right. He like, if I think and I thought I had this and I should have the stat in front of me and I was just too ignorant to look it up during the break as we got on another tangent. But I believe I read yesterday that Daniels has been injured in like four of the last five games he's played in. Yeah. That's a tough, that's a tough ask and I am, you know, David Molten and I and for that matter Pat Curwin, who's coming up here in about 20 minutes, we're all on the Jaden Daniels fan club list pre draft. We all wanted him more than Caleb Williams. We did to a man.

28:45That was our guy. It looked like after year one, it was right. Now there is so much more into this. Who's your coach? Who's your coordinator? Who are your weapons? What's your offensive line? Like I get all of the other things. But right now like would you put your reputation or your job on the line for Stroud or Bryce Young? I would not. And by the way, Stroud after year one looked like he was going to be the real deal. I like Stroud over Bryce coming out of college. On the bottom end, pick one, cam ward Tyler shook Jackson Dart. I'd probably go dart. You've seen a little more consistency from them, but God, I like that guy down in New Orleans. See and I'd take him and I'm with you that I think dart at this moment in time might be a little better, but Jackson Dart likes to run part of what makes Jackson Dart special is his ability to do things with his legs. He takes way too many chances for me with his legs in the fact that, you know, in last

29:50night, he, if that was kind of a fluky play. I mean, he got my latchy crunch there. Yes, I made a happy days reference from 1978. Sue me, but he literally one guy went high, one guy went low and all, I mean that for all of the hits he's taken, that one was kind of the weirdest. Just it wasn't like it was a hard hit where he got concussed. He just got turned wrong. When you're a quarterback who consistently has to use your legs, you got to think that that's kind of bound to happen. So out of the second, your guys, I'd take shook. I think we both agree that out of this list of nine, the four guys that are in NFL season three are where we would go. Boenix, Drake, May, Jay Daniels, Caleb Williams. Yeah, it'd be one of those four. I've liked what I've seen from Williams the last, you know, the one game in the last season. So he's slowly moving up for me. Jaden's injuries are just such a problem.

30:52But I mean, Sean Peyton loves Boenix. There's got to be something to that. Well, here's the thing. All four of them, Williams, Daniels, May and Nix, all every single one of them have the ability to move the chains and paddle, say it coming up here in 20 minutes, three, four times a game with their legs. You know, Boenix is a sneaky good runner. And I almost feel like I'm talking about the white quarterback here, or you know, the white receiver. But I mean, but I say that because, you know, I don't think people think of him as a speed demon, but Nix can make things happen. He's athletic enough that he can make good plays with his legs. It may can make good plays with his legs. Caleb Williams had two runs that were like, what, over 20 miles an hour or whatever it was. He can motor. He can flat out motor. Jaden Daniels is elite running the football, but he is fragile. What people were worried about with Dre, with Jaden Daniels is coming to fruition.

31:57He is a quarterback that I want him to have a great career. I don't ever like, it sucked last night that Jackson Dart got hurt because the moment that that happened and James Winston came in the game, I'm like, well, I'll watch for a little bit, but I'm probably going to bed at halftime tonight. I've watched football Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night, till after midnight, every night. It's like, you know what? I'm going to take advantage of this blowout, you know, because Tuesday, Wednesday are my sleep days now. You know, Monday and Thursday, we've got football all night. So I felt horribly because I really like watching Jackson Dart play. I like that combination of Dart and Scadib. I mean, and then neighbors kind of tweaks his shoulder. He was good for nothing after that he had one catch. Why they didn't have Scadiboo in the game on the third down play early is beyond me. That was weird. But you know, Bo, I see, I'd say Caleb, I mean, if I were to rank them, I'd go Caleb and

33:01Drake May, Bo, Nick, I could flip a coin. Like right now I would have Daniels fourth just out of that list because of the health situation. He can't stay healthy. Yeah. Yeah. And I don't know if he's surrounded by the right offensive coaches with the commanders. And I know Pat loves Dan Quinn, but I don't know if what they're surrounding Daniels with is enough there. I don't like the fact that they don't have a running game for him, but they seemingly only have a receiver. The fact that, you know, Debo went back to San Francisco. What's going on there? So something's not right. I know the new ownership and they're spending money and doing the right things, but I look at that and say what exactly is going on there? So I'd still go Caleb, but I think the Caleb, Bo, Nick's Drake May, that's an undecided, you know, I mean, we're only in year three. And I, I think if Daniels could ever get healthy and stay healthy, it looks like all four of these guys could be franchise quarterback.

34:04Yes. At least in, you know, at least being top 12, maybe never getting to the one through four best quarterbacks, but somewhere in that five to 12 range, I think they could be in the league. But I thought it was interesting because I didn't want to get past that. And I, you know, and years go quickly and we forget how long guys are in the league in very quick order. But these are, you know, these are your young quarterbacks in the lead. And then you add the kids that were drafted this year and we won't know about Mendoza for a while. We'll, we'll find out. But you know, again, we've got nine guys that are starting that are played four or less seasons. Stroud young Williams, Daniels, May, Nick's are all in their third year and Ward, Schuck and Dart. And what's to me is interesting about this Jacob is that look at Tyler Schuck again, he's never going to be on the short list of best quarterbacks in the league. But at the end of this year, when Stroud's looking for a new deal, you know, Stroud or Taylor

35:07Schuck, well, I mean, the rate this is going, the kid in New Orleans is starting to grade out better. Yeah. You know, Cam Ward, that's a tough one for me because already on another coach, the team's awful. There aren't a lot of weapons there. And the fact of the matter as they blew that game, you know, we might, would we think differently if they would have just beat the Eagles last week? I don't know. But Jackson Dart, you know, the style in which he plays scares the hell out of me and it happened last night. But if these young quarterbacks is there someone that you think is the franchise guy, 21,000 pelican roofing the floor to text line, Jake, at the end of the day, you're going May. Is that your, is that your vote of these? Yeah. Like you said, I'd probably flip a coin between May and Nick's right now. I'd lean May. I'd still take Caleb. I like the moxie. I the, the, the built that it factor.

You know, the difference in the AFC West Jacob may not be what happens between, you know, because the chargers lost to the Raiders. Yeah. The Broncos lost the Chiefs. I still think that'll end up being a split. But when it comes push to shove at the end of the day, that loss to the Raiders could be the difference between, you know, nine wins and 10 wins.
