1:03How are you doing my friend? I'm good. I think the last couple of shows we've been doing before our post games the other night. It didn't feel like football was here or didn't feel real. I'm like back in the zone right now. There's been so much stuff to watch. And the amount of little sea ox clips I've been trying, just keep servicing on my feed. I'm a little overwhelmed, honestly. I'm trying to like get some time to relax before tomorrow. But yeah, it's weird. There's full set at first Sunday of the year and there's one NFC West team playing tomorrow. It's weird. And it's the team no one cares about. So I got to play it next week. So obviously, I'm going to play next week. I'm like, it is one of the great pleasures in life is getting to watch a full Sunday of football when your team is already one. Like it is such free. It is such the best way to watch football. It's so cool. And I think there's a lot of interesting games tomorrow. Like we'll kind of go through the slate, which ones have your attention. I think we're going to have to leave.

2:04I think we might want to push Twitter patrol up a little earlier because I'm guessing you've got probably a lot to choose from in what you're going to call out today. Yeah, I was in circa, I think it was 2021 or two when it was just like, going and this it is one of the crazier hotels I've ever seen in my life. And I haven't been to this legacy club. But I saw picture of it. I was pretty blown away. But they have probably the biggest and most expensive sports book in Vegas. They have the outdoor sports book with the pool parties. I've watched the C-Oct 49ers game there and 22. Russell was on the team. It was the shame Waldron year. So I was there a little bit, but my God, I can't believe this is happening. It's going to be so crazy already to get out to Vegas and be with you guys. And the last live show we did in Nashville was it blew my mind.

4:07I had no idea what to expect. I think this is going to be another level. It is, I'm going to open this file because I can't share it for whatever reason. I can't share it directly here, but I'm going to share it a different way. This is for I had no idea how ridiculous circa is. But this is their outdoor pool. So let me put this up there for people to see. And remove this. So this is this is their freaking outdoor pool with a huge screen to watch the watch football games. I'm dying. I was telling a friend last night that we were going to put this together and he could not, for us, it was like, what? Like, how is that impossible? Our other podcast doing this, I'm like, we're, we're on a path that I just never thought was possible. It is, I'm very, very grateful and also just, it's dizzying. It is, it's crazy. So, that'll be fun. We'll certainly be talking about that plenty between now and then. We've got a lot of time until November when that happens. So, we will keep talking about it.

6:11But, dude, where do you want to start? I mean, I, like, I could go so many directions, but I'm curious, like, where's your mind? I can't, the RAM stuff is really top of mind for sure. Because that just went so differently. Like, I think I've anyone sees me online or sees my tweets, like, I'm not, I'm not a big RAM fan, but even in the back of my mind, the most pessimistic view of them, I don't think there was a chance they would open like that. It wasn't just that they lost. It was the fact that, and you talked about your show yesterday, how bad Matt Stafford, we haven't seen him look like that at any point, the offensive line. Miles Garrett coming out after the game talking about not being healthy, all kinds of stuff. So again, you don't want to overcrack from week one, but good Lord. There's a lot of things going to be talking about today. I want to share with you. I, so I often wake up at like 9 a.m., right?

7:14Like, I'll wake up, I'll scroll the internet for a little while and then I'll try to go back to sleep. Well, this morning I did not go back to sleep. I had some projects I was working on and then I turned my attention to this Matt Stafford stuff because I've been waiting for FTN to get their data in on that game. It takes a little while longer because their hand, like, they're like, hand measuring every single thing. But we finally got the Rams 49ers data in there. And the thing I wanted to look at was Matt Stafford. And the number that they have that's interesting to me is called catchable throw rate. And my impression of him in that game was that his, he was not throwing many catchables passes, let alone turnover worthy passes. So finally it's available. I charted it and Jeff, check this out. This in the lower left hand corner is Matt Stafford from that game. And his catchable throw rate is on the horizontal axis and his turnover worthy throw rate is

8:18on the vertical axis. What this tells you is that this is his 2026 and then he's also highlighted up here 2025 season. All the rest of these are 2025 full season for the quarterbacks. Matt Stafford in that game had what would have been the worst catchable throw rate of any quarterback in the NFL last year. And the worst turnover worthy throw rate of any quarterback of the NFL last year in this game. So it was not just, it was not just like, that was an off game. It was a catastrophically bad game like that's Brandon Allen that was previously setting the low mark. And he is left and below of Brandon Allen. And this is why I need you because from the I test, like it looked bad, but I would have said in my like, it was like Brandon Allen level bad to see the data play out like that.

9:21Where they have run watching the game was a little shocked just because seeing our last side of Stafford was the M.C. Championship where he looked like the Terminator. And that is wild because yeah, it's easy to say the jet lag or things like that or he's 38 years old. But you're right. The times where he gets pressured and we saw a little bit in plan last year, he's a totally different player. And guys at this age, they just don't want to get hit. We've seen it with Aaron Rogers now where he's kind of morph into it. It's just a totally different player, obviously personality aside. But what the biggest thing with him and some of the other older quarterbacks, they hate getting hit. And when they get hit or they get pressured and what made the Rams so hard last year is their offensive line protected the crap out of them. And to see them kind of weaker in past protection and to see him on the, and as good as Nick Bosa is, that's not an elite pass rush there. Like they say they're playing, they're playing the Giants next week. They're playing Denver the week after. It's hard not to be thundering like what happens next?

10:23Well, I'm glad you brought up as you are of one mind with me. The next place my mind went was past protection. So this is a look at just this year, the four quarterbacks that have played. And this is the rate that they were pressured per dropback on the horizontal and the amount of times the quarterback was hit percentage of dropbacks on the vertical axis. What this tells you is that Matt Stafford was pressured 32% of the time and he was hit 28% of the time. Now in a vacuum, you're like, well, what does that mean? Well, compare that to 20, 25 for Matt Stafford in 2025. He was pressured 24% of the time. So up to 32 in this game, that's not a huge change, but it is up. But his hit rate, the amount of times he was hit, his hit rate was 12% in 2025.

11:25It was 28% in this game. More than two times what it was a year ago. And that's what I was noticing. I was getting me up out of my seat in that game. His first dropback, I think he got drilled. And so I feel like the past protection for that team, I have a lot of respect for that offensive line. I am curious why it, are we underestimating the 49ers past rush? I think that's a little bit of it. We can talk about that a bit. But I also wonder, is that Rams offense flies? Warren McClendon going to come back to Earth a little bit? I don't know. Yeah, and the thing was, we'll say you got to start where they jet lag. Bigger guys can't imagine they come off a 15 hour flight. And they're in a peak, I thought it'd be, I think Nick Bosa looked really good. And people were wondering how he'd be coming off surgery. There was, he's been sitting out a lot of camp, like tendonitis. So I've ever been wondering what kind of shape he is. He looked like peak Bosa in that first game.

12:26And yeah, you look at their line as a group collectively, like they're coached really well. But I wouldn't say they have a lot of like blue chip kind of players. So if a guy like McClendon falls back a little bit or the center is a little weak there, he's more of a communication guy. Yeah, because four of the five of them are in contract here. So this is big years for them. They got a pace, deep of yellow. They got a paid Dodson, a Lairg Jackson, we figure would be suspended. But like last year the Atlanta game was the game ever in circles and what happened? The left tackle was at a night game, made a backup left tackle and the Falcons attacked the crap out of that. And yeah, so I think everyone surrounding the Rams, the big question was, is the offensive line good enough to be this super team? And the first sight of them, they were pretty disappointing. Well, I've had some unrelated news, but I'm going to share it. We've got our first person has bought tickets for Real Hock live in Vegas.

13:27So there's one few or seat available. So thank you to Matthew, not Matthew Stafford, but Matthew for being the first person to buy a ticket. So yeah, I'm not overreacting. I honestly am not. I don't think Matt Stafford's washed. I don't think the offensive line is bad. I don't think that the Rams are going to be terrible. I just don't think that. Now if it happens, fantastic. I will be all here for it. But it is something to watch, man. The flip side of this is, I think the 49ers defense is much better than people give a credit for it. Like, could be. Fred Warner is an alien. I think Nick Bosa looked good enough. I don't think he looked like Prime Nick Bosa, but he looked good enough to be disruptive. But I think Osa had a really nice game. You had like five pressures, four hits, I think in that game. Yeah, I think there's enough there for them to be potentially pretty good.

14:28The next thing that I'm wondering about though on the Ram side is this injury stuff. Like, have you heard, like, I've not heard anything about landmen or spates or curl. And those are, those are meaningful injuries. Well, they probably haven't done testing yet. They flew back the next day. I mean, I think they landed late last night. So I'm guessing they're going to be around the facility over the weekend. And I'm guessing they'll come out that. But yeah, it's weird. There was a lot of questions leaving that game. Both linebackers, safety. They were older teams to begin with. And they were just using personnel very strangely. I saw the whole thing about the man coverage stuff. They're playing a ton of zone and all kinds of weird stuff. I just want to emphasize this a lot. The thing that I get annoyed with with NFL coverage in general, everyone thinks what happened last year is what's going to happen this year. And I've said that's more likely in other sports like basketball. You can see like, natural progressions or things like that. In football, stuff does not go in a linear way. So just because like the Rams were particularly good at this, this and this last year, the

15:31reason the NFL so good is the new season starts and you kind of throw that all out the window. And sure, you know, based on the quarterback and the coach, who's going to be good most likely, but little things like the offensive line or a certain linebacker playing well or San Francisco might have guys that showed up. We really don't know. And that's why these week one games are so exciting because I think Lindsey said on your show, you get so much information that and week two, especially as we're things that are normalized. But yeah, San Francisco definitely was impressive. They got blown off the ball and run defense. I think that was kind of expected. But I think you just see what Fred Warrant, he's not been a week one what that guy does. You saw like Kyle Shanahan called a great game on offense. And yeah, when they're healthy and all their guys are playing, that's a really good team. The question is, are they exactly the last 18 weeks? Who knows? But right now San Francisco plays Miami next week. They should roll the doors with those guys. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's going to be a rough year to be a dolphin. So although I'm kind of curious. And if you noticed on that first chart, I put up Malik Willis in the top top right, you

16:35know, like, we'll see if you can do that in Miami with that team. But yeah, I guess when I look at what happened in that game, what's not surprising to me is that we're starting to see already people shift the blame to the defensive coordinator, Chris Shula. Like that's already happening. You know, we talk about that. But this is where my mind goes. I'm constantly just thinking about every scenario. And I'm like, OK, if the Rams lose both starting linebackers, Landman and Spades, maybe if they only lose one, and they struggle to defend the run, who is out there, like, they're not going to just rely on Sean Dolelack and Grant, whatever his name is. Like, they're going to go into this. This is huge faculty and sky. So I'm looking out there and I'm like, I don't know. What if they bring in Bobby Wagner? Like Bobby Wagner has played in LA before.

17:35He's familiar with them. He's from the area. He is not the best coverage player anymore, but he is great against the run and obviously, you know, great leader and all that kind of stuff. That would make me very frustrated if that happened. Maybe it will never happen, but it occurred to me. So I had to say it out loud. Yeah, it was hard watching him the one year. And he was obviously a different spot, politically, where the C-Ox cut him and he played it completely out of his mind against Seattle, obviously pissed off of that. It was hard to see him in that uniform. The Washington thing with Dan Quinn, I was all for that. And honestly, it's been a little harder to watch Bobby just like struggling in space. He's still like a really valuable leader, but yeah, I, again, I've told you my thoughts. One of my one of the most beloved players in C-Ox history playing on the Rams. And look, I imagine they feel like perhaps seeing Cooper play on the C-Ox. But yeah, I don't know. As much as I have questions about Bobby's skill at this level, I adore the guy. Like, I don't want to see him on that team.

18:37I really don't. Yeah, yeah. So I guess this is one of the things I'm monitoring. But what else, man? I mean, I saw you react when I brought up the crystal of the thing. Is that going to be in Twitter patrol? Should we wait for that? Yeah, a little bit, but like, it's pretty wild, everyone's just all of a sudden. Thanks to this guy. He's like a fool. And like, Sean McVeigh is not like, I know, or Loss, you know, Richter Sherman, we're going back and forth with that, like, they were calling like 70% zone coverage when they brought, like, is Sean McVeigh not involved in that? Like, why does he get led out the hook? Is he not part of the game plan? Can you understand that? I had to. All right, play man, defense. Like, why are we always just turn on the coordinator? The head coach is the one in charge of the whole program. They seem to let him off the hook in this thing. And yeah, I'll talk about this a little bit. But the other thing I'm curious your opinion on, honestly, is the how the C-Ox offensive line plate. Because coming out of the game, I had like a pretty good thought. And then watching a Brian Boldinger video of Drew Locke, I saw a lot of protection breakdowns.

19:37But as the week's gone on, like, I saw the Charles Bentley talk about Jalen Sandell. There was a clip of all the stuff Grey's Abledon combo blocks. I don't know if you've seen that one. And I'm like, Anthony Bradford on that example video looked really good. I'm really struggling because if it's a rough moment against Drake Jones, which sucked. Well, yeah, I don't know what to make of that. Where were you coming out of the game? So I thought Abe had one of his worst past protection games I've seen from him. It was not great. And Anthony Bradford had his moments as well, like as he will. But I also was noticing some just absolute domination on the ground from those guys as well. And I generally walked out of there feeling encouraged about the run game. Because if you can run block, you can help your past protection, right?

20:40So I feel like there was more to be had there. If they had any sort of passing game, I feel like the run game would have opened up even more. But I mean, we could look right here. If you look at where Drew Locke is on this, this is pressured and QB hit rate. He was pressured more than any quarterback that's played so far. I have the four quarterbacks. He had the highest pressure rate of the hit rate. He was third out of four. So, you know, wasn't great, especially considering the fact I don't think anybody is he going to confuse the Patriots, you know, past rush for one of the top half of the league, like let alone top 10. Yeah, and that's where when I saw that Baldi video, and the Baldi video, by the way, was on Drew Locke to show the quality of throws that Locke made in that game. I think like three of the clips, there's a clip where both defensive tackles just like bury through the line and they're right in his face. Or Abe Lucas gives up like an instant pressure, Gaby Accuser, Drey Jones. And I think we were talking in pregame,

21:41not that day, but like going up to the game last week. That is probably the worst edge group in the league. And yeah, so maybe it's rust. They don't play in the preseason. Maybe they can learn from that, but I think, yeah, I think I'm more with you. I think like the run game, there's a lot there. Like there's a lot to dole bomb. Pastros got to get better. I think one of the things I'm going to try to pull this data up so we can let know for sure, but one of the things that's a two watch for Brian Flurry versus Clint Kubiak is the number of people that he puts out into routes versus keeps in for protection. So you and I both know that when there's pressure, everybody immediately just looks to the offensive line. But a big part of how Clint Kubiak designed the offense to avoid a lot of past pressure was he'd keep in more guys than Kyle Shanahan. Kyle Shanahan is a Send 5 Guys out in Routes guy. He deals with pressure by having hot reads and things like that. Clint Kubiak used extra people into blocks.

22:45So I'm going to run the numbers and see when it comes up. We'll find out. But the Ceeox last year averaged about two people less, at least one and a half people less per dropback out in routes than Kyle Shanahan. That might be part of what was going on as well. Yeah, yeah, I watched in the 49ers for sure. You could see the amount of quick throws they made just to get guys open in space. That is how Shanahan over the years was the only coach who could combat Aaron Donald even at peak Aaron Donald because he had such a quick way. He never had those big off. And then he doesn't value guards. It seems like at all. And so yeah, I don't know. I'm guessing Flurry's going to be more on the Shanahan side of it just being around him all these years because Kubiak was really more about what his dad was like and some of the things he did. So I'm curious. We're going to learn a lot about that because not the best pass rushes the next couple of weeks. But as we get longer in the season, they have to go into Denver. They're going to have to play.

23:45The good thing is I don't think they play an elite rush. But I guess New England wasn't an elite rush either. But Arizona, Washington, the Chargers, up until San Francisco is probably the first real test in terms of like blocking a really good defensive line. So based on what the numbers are here, Seattle kept an average of five and a half people into past protect per their 27 dropbacks. 14 of them, they had offensive line only. 12 of them, they had six blockers and and one snapped. They brought they had max protect seven blockers. So that's a little bit more out and routes than it was last year, but it would not significantly different. The other piece is the, the Siak did not run almost any screens. Like their screen rate was super low. Yeah. So it was a little bit weird. Like their average up to target was not very deep,

24:46but they also weren't running a lot of screens. So it just was a little bit, like there's a question mark there about flurry and it's hard to decipher Drew Locke and that, like we just don't know. But those are like initial questions that we still have to kind of figure out as as we get more data and more more games under under our belts. You'd hope that things are a little bit different against Arizona. Yeah, I think the question is always with these guys, like what do you do when you hit adversity? The first adversity was your starting quarterback goes out in five plays. And I think overall like listening to like Mina and all the other people, like seems like it's everyone's kind of on the same page with Fari. It's like, okay, he eventually responded well. He looked professional. He didn't look like he didn't know what he was doing. But let's see what you do next week. Let's see what you hide you at. And what happens with backup quarterbacks typically is the bigger the sample size gets, they tend to fall off a little bit and like Gardner mentions the guy. Like for one game, you're always watching this guy. You're like, wow, this guy should be starting and then you watch it play six games.

25:47It's like, yeah, okay, that's why he's a backup. And so look, you hear Kondra on your show. You're the other guys in the building. They talk about Drew a little differently than team's talking about their backup quarterback. Like it sounds like they believe he's a capable starter. Now we're going to see over the bigger sample. It might be two games. It might be one. It might be three. And so yeah, that's a question. Flurry's going to have a more challenging job. But I think the more every game, we're just going to get more and more information. And I think we're going to learn. It's just sort of like we would Kubia. Kubia's response from week one to week two is very telephosphory. Yeah, I mean, I don't know, man. I feel like screen passes are going to like you look at the shanty hand offense and what they did. How much they ran screens. I think screens are going to be a bigger part of this offense than they showed in this game. I don't know if it's just a game plan or they didn't have that many dropbacks or plays in general. My favorite play that I've seen, you know, designed so far out of the two games,

26:50you notice that little angle screen to Debo Samuel in the red zone. Did you know that plan I'm talking about? Yeah, he has a really, it didn't quite get in, but it was like this. It was well designed, well timed and not the type of screen you generally see. I hope we see a little bit more of innovation in the screen game from Flurry. For sure. And screen game specifically is a big timing thing. So I wonder if they're a little hesitant to call it because they haven't had timing with lock. The running backs and he's been playing the Tuesdays all summer. That's probably just me potentially Galaxy bringing like, I know Andy Reed, he's the screen master. Like he will have these guys like the way you cut it certain hashes on the field. He is the one who does that. So seeing Kenneth Walker on Mondays is going to be really fun in that offense. But yeah, if they come out and there's no screens again, and that was an area where like they start to really take off in that in the second half last year, especially like the fourth quarter of the season, I think that's yeah, you're leaving something in the offense.

27:51So what do you say we do a little bit of an early Twitter patrol? Like I feel like I want to make sure we leave you plenty of time because there is a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, not on. Sure, I can talk to you for a while. All right, let's let's welcome in the patrolman himself. Where to begin, sir. Okay, we got to start and we talked about this a little bit last show. Bill Platchky, the LA reporter who was already on my bad side because he wrote an article last year after the Bears game in the playoffs that the Rams survived a miracle. And if they can survive that, there's no way anyone else can stop them. And they're going to win the Super Bowl. And I'm like, so let's just not play the NFC championship in Seattle. Like you're just put in the, you're put in the Bears is this and then I'll load the whole the C.O.X. win. And so I'm like, okay, that was pretty cheesy. You never really commented on that again. The same guy comes out. I think it was the

28:52week of the game. I think it was either Monday or late last week puts that in article that the Rams are going to go, I'm defeated on route to winning the Super Bowl. I was so mad when I saw that thing because I don't still think about last year. I'm just like, you're doing this again. Like, you put in nothing. You're falling for this again. And for them to lose the first game is so funny and so embarrassing of that guy. And he's an older writer. It probably just doesn't care at this point. It probably just wants kind of just the attention. He's a columnist. So he's an opinion guy. More of a data guy. But to come out and I think this next article was like they screwed up the travel plan and Sean Vey to not get like, not feeling embarrassed by that. I don't know. That is a huge violation. It's a call team to go on to feed and then they don't win their first game. That's the worst prediction you can make. So not only did they not win their first game. They got what they lost by 20 points. And it is the first team that was these preseason Super Bowl favorite

29:56in 50 years to lose by 20 points in their first game. Yep. That is that's quite something. That's as big of an LL as you'll ever get. Okay. Napstimes list. And this is again, I was hoping I'd be a little bit better from this guy. But the night before the Australia game, my old buddy Peter Schrader came out. And this sounded like it was like written by Sean McVey. And he wrote, the Rams are all in for the night. It's 9.45 pm in Melbourne. They slept on the flight and will sleep now for one night and a wake up and play football game. This isn't some trial and error approach. They've sent 50 and staffers over the last 15 years and tracked their body. This was deemed the approach no turning back now. I'm like, thinking you're supposed to be like a reporter or you're supposed to be a TV personality. Why are you sending this out? Like this should be coming from the Rams PR department. It's so unfair. And that what happens, the trouble plant completely blows up in their face. Their best players, Miles Garrett and Matt Staffer completely ship the bed.

31:01And since that game, he's had no tweets. He couldn't even own it. Like you're ready, the guy who's known for being Sean McVey's mouthpiece and parrot. Like there's some other things going on that in the with him that aren't so positive as well. But to not come out there and just say like, hey, are you trying to be objective at all? That should be coming from the Rams PR. Why are you trying to operate? And for that to come out and do that, and just them, their plan is like, laughed out in the league. It was so embarrassing. Maybe that's why he hasn't tweet, but like, you can't laugh at yourself. You can't just be like, wow, I screwed that one up. But why are you putting that out there? It's just so ridiculous. When you have this reputation of being like, basically McVey's like, I don't want to say the way I'm going to say, but parrot, you can't do this anymore. I'm interested in Pete's trigger because he seems like a nice guy. Yeah. Like, seems like

32:08a nice guy, like probably like fun to hang out with. But he really doesn't like when people imply that he is Sean McVey's mouthpiece. There's pictures of him at Sean McVey's wedding like on and anyone can look it up. Like, they're close. And that's part of it gets me annoyed. Like, everyone's all over the receney, variable thing because it's very, you know, salacious. But inappropriate relationships between reporters and people in the NFL, I feel like are all over the place. And I don't even care that they have the relationships as long as they own them. 33:11especially has been running with this McVey thing and how much he can't stand McVey's whining. I am it is going to be must listen to radio if Salk is able to kind of confront Schrager about McVey and McVey's shortcomings. Like, I would enjoy that. I'm going to make sure Mike, I don't know if Michael do it because he's got a treat his guest nicely. But I want to see it do. So he was on them this summer and Salk to his credit was digging out. And Schrager even admitted that Pearson gives him crap for this too. He were admitted this on the air. So it's well known. And basically they were saying like, they were saying like, Chameleon, if he was a baby since the the playoffs and like, what's going on with your buddy and Schrager to his credit, like, he'll laugh about it. Like, he jokes about it. But he can't criticize these guys. Like, he has friends in the league. And one of his other buddies in the league is Cliff Kingsbury. And he like, even when Cliff was

34:14disaster in Arizona, he would come on what he used to be on good morning football and give the soliloquy of all this nonsense of all the stuff he's doing. And lo and behold, the other day he goes on ESPN and does his Super Bowl prediction. And the reason he said he picked the Rams is because Cliff Kingsbury works for them now. And he's been studying all the tencies around the preseason. And they have an edge. That's why he picked the Rams over the Seah. But like, to be fair, Schrager's like, he's been loving up Mike McDonald. Like, everyone who knows this guy seems to really like him. And even like when he goes on like the part of my take, they make him crap about how he does this. And he'll laugh it off. But I just think the stuff with McVay, like, he takes it a step too far. It's just like, you don't need to spew like the PR of what they're doing. Like, one time Simpson got drafted. It would have been so easy to just like McVay served in the benefit of the doubt at this point. Why didn't he come out here and just like, give his PR? We don't need that. And so yeah, Schrager took his credit like, he will own it. He will talk about it. But when you're

35:17defending, there are Australia plan as it's happening. And then it gets blown out and you just disappear. At least like Dan Orlowski tried to over the top criticized staffer this week. Did he? But Dan's gonna, Dan might appear on something over here coming up. So, Okay, let's move this over. Okay. Dan Orlowski next violation. Yeah, they kind of like 12 of them this week. But in the middle of the C.O.X game, his only takeaway is his tweet that said, McDaniels is so elite. The same Josh McDaniels that coached one of the worst games in Drake makes career. Three interceptions. A game where they lost to the backup quarterback. A game where Drake made, made, made to the worst throw. We'll see. I'll season in terms of like risk reward. Then he goes on the air the next day and he did praise from JSN. I'll give him that. But his main takeaway was just like, the Patriots could not lose this game. And I get it. It's an easy angle. But like, he here takes the crap into me. He just here takes the crap in me. And until I hit a youth

36:22when I like or it was not Joe fan. And Joe is not a guy who's controversial at all. Well, maybe with Jamal Amps, but Joe is not in the business anymore. He's living his life in Vegas. He was irritated as much as that tweet a lot more than I was. So, yeah, I don't know how, at one point in the game, you could possibly have come to the conclusion that the team that barely scored seven points and only got an extra three points because of a running into the kicker penalty against the team missing all their defensive backs, except for witherspoon. That's your takeaway. Josh McDonald's is elite. So I don't know. Maybe it's just biased, but that irritated me. Can I can I it's not a Twitter patrol thing, but can I file a class action suit against Patriot fans? Yes. This is the same fan base that a year ago, not even a year ago, literally was threatening bodily harm to Sam Monson from Czechomike and his family because he didn't vote for Drake May as the MVP. And now they're basically disowning Drake May. Like, if you watch like anything about

37:30the Patriots, they are just like this guy like he's a there's a whole clip of him like he runs a high school offense. He does high school stuff. He's like he's not a professional quarterback. So God, man, I guess it's I guess it's a good thing that they're eating their own because it was ugly what they did with Sam last year. So I don't really have much against the Patriots in general, but I did not like the way they treated our pal Sam Monson. So I don't mind seeing this happen. What else you got for us, dude? I don't want to get too deep into this one, but I thought I don't know if you heard Matt LaFlor's comment about Josh Jacobs the other day. So Josh Jacobs, he sat at Tom Multzio's office and off the field stuff. And he pleaded no contest. So his car kick has got moved up two months. And when you plead no contest for my understanding, I'm not a lawyer. You're accepting whatever the judge rules. You're understanding of it. And it's like pretty serious stuff, battery, like the domestic violence stuff I don't think is being ruled on. But he comes

38:34out and he's like, well, sometimes unfortunate stuff happens to really good people. And it's yeah, it was let you find the quote. It was really weird. And it's like, he's like unfortunate things happen in life. And I can't even remember. It was here. Unfortunately, situations are current life. And it's just an unfortunate situation. That was it. Like if you have a guy who's like being like not convicted, but I'm not sure that's the leadership I would be showing. And I get look, the CEOx sign Terri Arnold with all those questions and they obviously did their homework. So I'm not saying like the CEOx are like Frank Clark. There's all this stuff. But I just thought as a leader is like, and honestly, I question Matt Wolfler's leadership. It was a pretty rough look. I thought. Yeah, that is sometimes you just, there's probably not a great way to talk about those things. I think generally it's some people will nail you for saying like you should say something.

39:40I generally think that the best way to handle that as a coach or GM is not for me to comment on people's, you know, personal life and what happens off the field. You know, my focus is what they're doing in the building and who they are when they're here. You know, something along those lines, people can disagree with that. But if you get into any territory of excusing violence and abuse, like that's that's rough. And I say this full well knowing the C-Hawks have Terri on Arnold in the building. And they're going to have to navigate these waters. And I don't want to hear John or Mike diminish like the seriousness of eight felony counts. That's a big deal. Now if he turns out there's some pretty strong indicators, actually speaking with, it doesn't matter. Actually, I won't go into that because because who knows what this person really knows. But if it turns out that, you know, all charges are dismissed with Terri on Arnold and there's no indication that he was guilty. Fine. But I just got to be realistic about those things.

40:48All right, you got one more? We exhaust Twitter Patrol. I think we exhausted. I think by next week we're going to have a whole week of content for the game. Yeah, there's, I could have gone on with ram stuff for hours. So there was just a lot of people with bad takes week after week. Damit Lombardi, I was going to go on, but I like, he still brought up that week one game last year. And you know what? If it's a bit, I will give the guy for the first time, like big credit. Like if that's a bit and he's using it to just like, but if he's like actually believing that that is why the 49ers are the best team in the NFC West, then there's not really a waste for re up there. So I'm not sure he's on that. He absolutely believes that. He absolutely believes it. And I think now we have one of the other goals. I mean, the goals of the season are always relatively stable, you know, winning the vision, winning the NFC, winning the Super Bowl, right? Now beating the 49ers when they're healthy will be another one on that list. And like that

41:50will be a moment. And I think that could be a really good game. And I give the Siox every bit of the reason to think that they'd win it. So that was Twitter Patrol. I do think we missed some chance there to give a commendation for Grant Cohn. Oh my god. He deserves what? What a hall of fame run he's had in Australia, dude. Yeah, I don't even know if the combination's enough. He's of all the people that went there. And like you can people have have different ways of feeling about Grant, love and behave them. But the way he just immediately adapted to Australia, the creativeness, like the entertainment value, like I was talking last week, and they're just watching him eat a burrito. And that was at that point, like one of the funniest videos I saw a week. And he is just breaking down like Australian rules football.

42:50He's gone in. He's gone on the national shows. You just see like what this guy is sealing is as a content creator. Like not only is he like the perfect guy to cover the football team you hate because he does it in such a funny way. But like he could be doing national football analysis. He could be doing like food breakdowns, all kinds of stuff. Since he's got there, like the other 49ers writers have shown videos of Australia. Like he's running circles around these guys. And it must irritate them a little bit because he's not the guy that comes in does the traditional stuff. So for him to come in there and just like blow the doors off all the other content creators around the Niners, it was pretty impressive. I hope he's enjoyed it because he's brought a lot of attention. He's getting the attention he deserves, honestly. You know what was a bummer? Is the Caden McDonald injury?

45:02Yeah, I don't know. I had no idea like that. I had no idea there was even a story and all the studies on injured reserve. And I'm like, what's like, yeah, like they slip that in there. I want to see this guy for people that don't know. I mean, he was the big defensive tackle massive run stuffer that you, myself, Rob State, and we're all talking about as a possible Seahawks target with their first round pick, especially if they traded back, hands up, go into the Texans and adds like what looked to be a really disruptive defensive tackle in the middle of what was already a dominant defense. So he's out. That's a little bit of a bummer. But still that's in Houston. And right now the bills are one and a half point favorites. That's kind of interesting. That is very interesting. I would I would I would take the points for sure. Yeah, Joe, Joe, I would probably do straight up personally. Yeah, I think that's a money line pick. Yeah, yeah. All right. I'm going to pick the next one. We'll go back and forth for games we're

46:03looking forward to. After Bill's Texans, well, obviously Cowboys giants is kind of interesting for the night cap. Yeah, obviously the Cowboys are a team of interest. I'm actually most interested in their defense and Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence and what that's going to look like. But I'm also interested in the giants because they play the Rams next week. And I want to see a reason to feel like maybe they could cause some trouble. Yeah, I think without the giants are one of the more fascinating teams in the league because you got like Jim Harbaugh, I mean, John Harbaugh is mostly like the out of the room. Then you got like the Gen Z quarterback Jackson Dart. He was like exciting, but again, it could cost about like every two games, scatabo, and then a defensive line, they just haven't been able to figure out they've had so much talent on that team over the years with that, that's the extra Lawrence has been there. Leonard Williams, Trafer Brian Burns, now they got a dual Carter. They haven't been able to figure out how to use these guys. So I'm just so curious what that team's going to be like because Brian Dable was the furthest thing

47:06what you'd call like that old in the room. And he kind of fell off and the GM certainly wasn't. So I'm just curious to see what that whole thing looks like. And so that's a really exciting matchup. Again, John, if they look legitimate like going into that Rams game, I'm going to have some hope that they come out and they can play it. All right, what's your next game that you're looking forward to? I want to go to the, I want to stick with me, I want to see what the Vikings look like with Kyler. I was going to be my next one too. Vikings, the Packers in Minnesota. I'm sort of like a person, so they're a little bit less interesting, but that's a good week one game. And I think the Vikings are a sneaky team as much as I don't trust Kyler Murray. Like Brian Flores and that defense are always really tough. Justin Jefferson and Vs. Compton, like they won nine games last year with zeroes of quarterback. So as much as me and you are not Kyler guys, it's a lot better than changing McCarthy and Max Brozeman, we saw that game. And even the game in Seattle where they had zero from the quarterback, damn, that offense did

48:07not Seattle's offense did nothing. They get crap. So I'm curious to see what that looks like. Jordan Love gets a ton of hype from like the deep analytics community. And I'm just looking to see more because I have questions about that team. They don't have great running back talent, Tucker crafts coming off injury. Matthew Golden was a guy. Me and you really didn't want them to draft, but we did like him as a player. I'm just curious to see what that both of those teams look like. Yeah, I think that's a really good one. And I'll be on record. I think that the Vikings will get off to a fast start this season. I think Colin Murray is a guy that generally like he's had years where he looked like he was the number one MVP candidate for the first eight games and then collapsed. And that's happened more than once. So wouldn't surprise me if they're there you get off to a big start. Okay, I'm going to go off the rails with the next pick. I really am eager to see the jets and Titans. Wow. I talked about this Lindsay Rhodes. She and I have the same perspective. I feel like the jets could be sneaky better than people think. I like

49:08what they've got going on that team. And I'm just kind of curious about that. And then the Titans, I just have a saucepot for the Titans. Like I like some of what they've got going on in that team as well. And I'm hopeful that they can start to be a little bit better. But mostly I think that's about about the jets. I'm curious about that team. Is it Gino Smith related or is it bigger than it is related to that? But it's the whole like I like I mean Kenyan Sadiq like I like the defensive guys they've got I think I think it's I think they had one of the best off seasons in the NFL. I really do. And if if Gino Smith is 75% of what he was in Seattle, which I think he can be 100% of what he was, I still believe that last year was not who he's going to be. I know everyone's like don't call me for that. But that's just genuinely what I believe. I think if he can be the guy he wasn't Seattle, I think the jets can win eight to 10 games. Yeah, I actually did have

50:11a take earlier in the off season that I actually think they might be like a little too good when they should be trying to suck. Because they have I think three first round picks. And I should think they have the Colts, the Cowboys and their first round pick. So this is supposed to be a really good quarterback draft. They have a 35 year old quarterback. I almost would have put a shitty or quarterback in there. But the guy's trying to keep his job and trying to build a program. So they signed a lot of veteran players that were meant to be like guys who can play like DiMario Davis is a linebacker. But yeah, they have like pretty good skill players with Sadiq and Mason Taylor and Garrett Wilson and Omar Cooper. I don't I know I really like him. He's had a quiet start to camp. It sounds like but their offensive lines really good. It is. We both love like that move. They dropped the left tackle a couple of years ago. I think they interior they got a couple good interior players as well. It's one of the best young offensive lines in the league. And if Bruce Hall actually gets like a competent system, he doesn't play. I'm saying like I think like no one no one else is comfortable saying that. But I think they're kind of an interesting team. Yeah, they like they're all things should be about getting because

51:16they had a really good draft. Yeah. And they're going to have another three first round picks next year. So the only problem is if Geno plays too well and takes an out of quarterback range, maybe they have to trade out with three first round picks. I mean, I think they're going to be in some kind of quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. So that's the question because there's no like. Yeah. So what's what's your next pick? We'll go a couple more here. Um, the Lions of the States. Yeah. That was that was the one I was thinking of too. I'm I think the Lions outside of the sea ox are my favorite team to watch. I really like to gamble. I love that offense although last year was a little less fun without bad Johnson there. But the Saints are an interesting team because shock at the end of the year really lit it up. But it was all against the NFC South teams. It was all against the Atlanta, the drags of the NFL. So I'm just curious to see what that looks like because again, you talked about earlier the summer about the other defensive numbers were actually pretty good last year. And yet Jordan Tyson's not playing. But I want to see if that team is going to be fun to watch because it's one thing to play Atlanta and Carolina and look good.

52:20But Detroit's also a team that doesn't have much on defense. So that could be a shoot-up. And so again, I want to see Shuck. I want to see what the the Drew Petsley Lions offense looks like. That might be as fun as the game as there is tomorrow. All right. Well, do to do one more. Next for me will be Barris Panthers. Barris are playing in Carolina. Everyone's going to assume the Barris are going to roll. The Barris are favored by three points on the road. Panthers were a playoff team last year. And I would love to see the Panthers win that one. That's the main reason I'm interested in that game. I just I am I'm anti-Caleb Williams hype. Like and I also am not a Ben Johnson guy. I don't like Ben Johnson. So I'm rooting I'm actively rooting against the Bears. No, they were on my list because I'm just curious to see what they look like because again defensively they haven't had a very good offseason. They haven't had much in terms of talent. Kobe Bryant's not playing. And they don't have they're off they're really just

53:25like that. They're kind of the they if they had a better defense I think they would be like the hype team in the NFL. And I thought they'd just because of Caleb and Ben Johnson they would. But it's kind of gone quite with them. Maybe the Rams just hate everyone's hype and there's none left for everyone else. But I'm very curious to see what they look like and they're going and they got to play outdoors and we'll see. And so that that game does interest me. Panthers not as much but I'm just more since the Bears side of it. Okay, your last pick. My last pick is going to be the Chargers and the Cardinals. Oh, because. Hey, we're playing the Cardinals next week. I want to see what Jeremiah love looks like. I want to see what Matt Michael Floreau looks like. And I know Evan's talked about this. Another people talked about this. I'm definitely a bit of a sucker. Not for Justin Herbert for the Chargers. And Mike McDaniel like I just loved watching that offense in Miami before too. It just got so bad they couldn't run anymore. So I'm just curious to see A to the Chargers look any different with Mike McDaniel thing. B. I'm going to want to watch

54:26Arizona closely to see what they look like because that's entirely new offense. For us bad as we think they are like they're still kind of a fun offense with Michael Wilson and McBride and love and Harrison and Jacobi Perseid was obviously a lot of fun last year. And I don't know what's going on with their own defense. So I thought about some other picks there but I think yeah, that came no matter what it's going to be fun to watch. So games we didn't mention. Commander's Eagles is kind of surprising. We didn't mention that. Commander's play at Philadelphia. Eagles are favorite by six. Requilins first game. It's going to be an interesting game. Jayden Daniels like the X play the commanders in two weeks. I think we're hoping that the commanders look like crap so that we just don't have to worry about that game. But at the same time I would be pretty happy if the Eagles lost. So yeah, the commanders, the book coming out of the camp is just the offensive line has been so bad that they haven't been able to run an offense and they got a first-time play call or two. And they don't have a great defense in general. So this is our first sighted. I mean

55:31throughout this whole thing everyone seems to forget Jayden Daniels. But yeah, I don't like Nick Seriani at all. I'm not I'm not the biggest Jalenhurt sky either. I'm curious to see what he looks like. But yeah, I didn't think of the Requilin angle. Like that guy is going to be fun to watch. He's going up against digs in McClure tomorrow. So that's the first game. And I think the Eagles are going to be a weird team this year. I do like the Cowboys in that division. But yeah, that's a sneaky good week one game because I get them are watching to see if Washington is an actual disaster. And even as good as Jayden Daniels is if that talent around him is bad. They're not much of a running game either. So in the not offensive line for sure. And so other games we didn't mention Bucks, bangles, Boy Moffe's first game with the bangles, Dexter Lawrence's first game with the bangles. I admit I just kind of ignore the bangles. The Bucks to me are super uninteresting. But that's another game. Another game we didn't mention Ravens Colts. Partly to me it's just an AFC bias, but like I'm just not that I'm not I've never been that

56:35interested in the Ravens. And the Colts I find other than their owner I find very boring. That's the thing the Colts side of that game. Like yeah, they were awesome. With Daniel Jones coming off and Achilles injury. Like what do you I don't know what you would be excited about maybe like Tyler Warren your two. I guess I guess you the blood. Yeah. And then Falcon Steelers. Yeah, I'm always starting for it. I'm always intrigued about the Falcons, but to a tug of a low. I mean, he's out. He's not playing. Oh, he's not Cooper Russia's starting for them. I must have missed I saw people joking about that, but I didn't realize. Who I like had a back flare up in practice and then they listen to him as L with an oblique injury. And it's like that team feels so hopeless right now. Are they ready missing James Pierce and walkers out for the season and Bajon Robinson is the Larry Fitzgerald of this generation. Just a generational talent stuck on a absolute dumpster fire. Yeah, Nathan. Nathan really got

58:43watch Dolphins Raiders watch Clint Kubiak's debut watch, you know, Ashton Gentie and Mike Washington. And, you know, maybe what that hours ago. Yeah, there's there's a little bit there to me for the Raiders. But like, nothing is there. Did you see the contract Michael Mayer got today? I did. Did you see the contract Tucker Kraft got today? I did, but the mayor got 15 million a year like in real money. And AJ Barnard's got to sit in there just like sharpening his knives because Michael Mayer, we both really liked him that draft. Yes, he's been kind of a dud in the NFL so far. So maybe Kubiak really liked some, but that was a shocking deal. Yeah, there's just there's so much to freaking watch tomorrow. It's really quickly on the on the tight end contracts. Everyone talks about Micah Parsons going out for the Packers last year. I think it was Tucker Kraft going out that something that team. I think that guy is so critical to that team. I think he's really, really good. I don't like him. You know, he got into fights with the Seahawks and joint practice last year. So,

59:46he's on my list, but, but he's, I think he's really, really good. I think if he had been fully healthy for the full season, I think he would have halted into the next George Kittle kind of tight end in the league. Dynamic receiver, dynamic blocker, tough to bring down after the catch. Yeah, like when he got the money today, like that didn't even like phase me at all because I think he's that good. You want to buy him the players who are sending at that level. He's close to 25 billion a year, I think now. And honestly, he's probably the best player on that offense. So, that's an interesting team this year because they got like weird offensive line concerns that are not usually typical with the Packers, but that guy. Yeah, it's the closest thing I've seen to George Kittle. And those guys just should get paid. And then money now, you got Broncos chiefs after this week. So this is the great week, man. I love, I love football, man. I love the NFL. It's so fun. We've even got college, like I'm looking forward to Texas, Ohio State later today. Yeah, yeah, that's
