don't overstay or welcome. In the past, I said that one of the worst people to hang out with are parents who just got a babysitter. They've been stuck at home for weeks and now they are thirsty for a night out. To them, a two hour dinner is not enough. They want to go to another spot, then another, and then another. What started as a fun plan turns into a hostage situation. The friends who are being nice now feel like the bad guys because they want to go home. The guest has overstayed their welcome. They turn a good memory into a chore. I have many bad habits, but I never overstay my welcome. If I even get a hint that someone wants me to leave, I leave. I don't get offended either. I understand that people get tired. Nothing is worse than staying at someone's house when they are giving you one word answers, looking sleepy or trying to relax after a long day. When you stay too long, you force the other person to kick you out. That is an awkward situation for everyone. Take the hint. If you see someone is looking tired, just stand up and say that you will see them
later. The best way to get invited back is to leave while people still want you there. Armani talks.
