Don't Overstay Your Welcome

They've been stuck at home for weeks and now they are thirsty for a night out. To them, a two hour dinner is not enough. They want to go to another spot, then another, and then another. What started as a fun plan turns into a hostage situation. The friends who are being nice now feel like the bad guys because they want to go home. The guest has overstayed their welcome. They turn a good memory into a chore. I have many bad habits, but I never overstay my welcome. If I even get a hint that someone wants me to leave, I leave. I don't get offended either. I understand that people get tired. Nothing is worse than staying at someone's house when they are giving you one word answers, looking sleepy or trying to relax after a long day. When you stay too long, you force the other person to kick you out. That is an awkward situation for everyone. Take the hint.
