Well, I hear come the calls. Well, I asked in there and I shall receive. Actually, you asked a new shall receive because I was like, oh, I'm taking I'll take the browns on Sunday. I won. Take the browns. I want to know if that continues. I remember you see a frustrated when we started hosting this show. It became, oh, Ken's going to pick the browns every week. Anthony's going to pick against them. And so we were a new show and everybody started picking sides. And I think we know we're most people. Yeah, but they did not appreciate that I was telling people things that you were not telling them. Well, after a while, though, like you can't, first off, I can't just do it as a gimmick. All right. What I do like about hosting with you and I'm not saying this just because you're in my presence. I've said this to people out and about and everything is that you tend to see things. I'm a dreamer. You're not, it's not like you're a dollar individual all the time.
You can be optimistic about things, but I'm more of a dreamer. I tend to lose grip with reality by those dreams and you tend to keep me honest with myself. And so I have to think twice before I go shoot my mouth off about winning, going to the playoffs, winning 10 games in a season or anything like that because you're going to call me out and embarrass me. But I would also tell you I was jealous because I was like, I want to get back to 21-year-old Anthony come into the munilot and getting excited and being a rational me. Now I'm talking about me, getting a rational about my team's chances to win a game. It's not about be. I know what you're, I know what you're trying to protect against and I respect it. And I don't want to name names here. I know you're trying to not be a negative individual all the time. I think you're just trying to be a realist. And that's my issue is that I've taken your realism at times that I've just focused it on negativity. Why? Because I don't believe the negative things have affected the Browns. But I don't think you go out of your way. Like you have a dump on the roster. You haven't said that this team is incapable of building anything.
You've not said that once. You have not been negative about this roster. I've been way more down about other Browns. But yes, of course, like there's been concerns and I think we've shared the same concerns. I don't know what the offensive lines going to look like right now because they haven't really played meaningful football with each other. Little mystery, but I'm kind of trending. I'm starting to buy into a Todd has had his time with them. And you know, I know we already have an injury, but for some people that injury is already a good thing. Well, because I mean, I'll have Austin Barber possibly in and I'm no offense to Tevin Jenkins. I'm not trying to be mean spirited. You're just not part of the future. Austin Barber has a chance to be a part of that future or maybe he doesn't. You know, we'll find out. But I have like Parker Brailsford could end up being put in by the end of the season. And hopefully you'll play well. By concerns, it's not a it's not a nastiness. My concerns are depth in the secondary. My concerns are depth at defensive tackle. My concern at ed rusher, I should say really. Linebacker. I mean, my entire defense, my the front side of my defense looks pretty fine. It's just if if one, two or three of those guys go down, then I'm going to be in trouble.
All right. Well, those guys aren't down right now. Like this is as healthy as we're going to be all year long. So I'm getting ready for Jacksonville and it's week one. We have tape on them calling plays. I mean, Liam Collins said it yesterday in his press conference is like, they got tape all over the place of me. Like, I know that Todd Munkett has called offense before, but this is a new team. I don't he's like, and I also have nothing on Mike Rootenberg calling plays at all. So they got a whole year of tape on me calling plays for my offense, where I don't have anything on them with their defense. So now I have and I look at the history of week one. I'm like, Hey, if you're going to give them a puncture's chance, like they can go out there and get throttled in history. If you want to get into the history, usually our first games with our new coaches don't end up very well. I mean, we went to the playoffs twice with Kevin's to fansky and week one was an out and out disaster. I mean, Jamie Gillen got, got boat race to the end zone. They ended up losing like 37, 37 or 37 or something like that. It was so bad. Like you can lose history there and say, yeah, we can we can go out and get throttled.
Ken. The Scottish hammer, but I look at what we have and I'm thinking, all right, if you are bullish on the Browns, this is as good a chance as you're ever going to have to be bullish on the Browns. So like those who are like saying, we can win 10 games, we can win 11 games and Ross Tucker will certainly knock that down very quickly. Okay, but you're going to have a very good chance of being on your way or you believe you're on your way to being right about that after Sunday afternoon. This is as healthy as we're going to be. This is as good as we're going to be. I don't know about the quarterback position. That's a tremendous question mark and kind of a downside point to everything, but this is as good as it's going to get. So yeah, week one, I have I I solemnly swear. I will not say anything that will lead me to week two against Tampa Bay and everything that then will be on tape, but I'm only can go. I can only go week to week right now and I'm going to week one and I'm like, yeah, I'm going to take the Browns. I'll take the Browns and you wanted to know if I pick them to win week one every year,
do I lose that credibility? Well, let's go to the phones. Mike and Akron, hello, Mike. Good morning. Good morning, Mike. Hey, I just think we should cut Ken some grace here. I've been Browns fan for over 60 years and I have not gone into one game, not thinking that they might be able to win. That includes when they won 0 and 17. That's being a Browns fan. That's not about credibility. That's about being a Cleveland Browns fan. That's fair. I like that, Mike. Thank you very much for the call. Okay. I got one for me. Jim and Sarah Hughes, New York, he's listening on the free Odyssey. Hello, Jim. Yeah, Mike's allusion. Oh, and you're crazy as well. So I the Browns are going to start on three. If the Sean Watson goes 17 for 24 with two touchdowns on Sunday at Browns, when I will come to the studio and shine your shoes.
Now that sounds like a hell of an idea. I think Jim just hung up, but I would like that to happen. That Sarah Hughes is six and a half hour drive. I'm not asking that guy a drive section. I have a. No, he could just, he could just send me some. Fine. I'm not going to ask him to actually come to his. Say what? I'm driving out the eerie to get my shoe shine. I've never had my shoe shines before. I don't know how long do they take. I'm not going out there. That I got to find one of those chairs. We got one down here in the basement of this building. I got to go to Eerie and find one of them. The chairs. I mean, in a week, there could be the lake effects. No already. I mean, that's how quickly it happens. Well, he was on Watson. I wanted to ask him. He was on Watson. They're showing the replay right now. The AJ Brown injury by the way up there. It doesn't look great. He left in a boot, right? Yeah. I understand what he says about Watson. You can go to the free audacity. You can actually use a rewind feature, which is brought to you by Integrated Restoration at local experts in Water Firestorm Disaster Restoration 632 and 21 seconds for those scoring at home.
I said at the end of it yesterday, because it starts to hit after the Todd Munkian interview that we had the other day, where he's like, yeah, me and Deshaun, we talked about it. He said his sorry's and we're moving on and I'm going. Yeah, I know you say that, but this is actually where fans have a lot of power because you have to take the fans thoughts into consideration because he's that preoccupied with the fans. You have an eight quarter audition. If he can't get anything done in the next eight quarters, he has Jim and Cierce has zero belief that Deshaun Watson is going to get it done. And I think very few people have any belief that he's going to be able to get it done. He has eight quarters to prove everybody wrong and then to try to get people on his side when he comes home. If they're O and two and he's played like garbage, you can't start him. Why? Because he's in his own head about the fans. So the fans are the ones who hold the power here on whether or not he starts against Carolina. I know that a lot of people are down because he's starting against Jacksonville more than likely to start against Tampa Bay, but it is in their hands. If he goes out there and he plays poorly, they will make the decision. I think for Todd Munkian. Yeah, what a wild week that would be too. Thinking about what are they going to do with Deshaun Watson?
That the excitement about Shudor, that the Shudor fans are back engaged and everything. Exactly. And who do they play? You know, that week at home. That's the whole of Carolina. And then they got they got a Pittsburgh at home on that Thursday night. So it's a big turnaround. Right. And the reason I bring like I know before the season is I'm going, Hey, Todd can't worry about our opinion. He can't worry about our opinion. He's he's owes it to the 53. And it's still true. You owe it to the 53. If I think my quarterback is going to be in his own head because everybody else around him at home, he doesn't get my team the best chance to win. So I got to look at somebody else. Well, I want percentage of our fan base thinks he gives them the best chance to win now. Very, very little. Very little. And I know there are people that aren't in on Shudor either. They both quarterback. Yeah, but they can still only go by what they see. And what they saw was absolute garbage. Yeah, at least at least I think there's always there's hope that you go vertical that you can throw the football down the field. When Zack Jackson came on yesterday and said there's nothing that he does to challenge a defense right now, a professional defense. I think that has people going, Oh, man, what is the point?
It's true. Mark and Wycliffe, you're next up in the fan. Hello, Mark. Good morning, gentlemen. You lost all credibility a couple years ago when you guaranteed those elementary school kids a win against the Raiders. No. And I lost money on them. I took your word for it. Yeah, I have you lose money. I do not tell I care. I have not stewed. Fine. I feel bad about those kindergartners. Can you tell us how badly you went into debt? I told I was going all in with $100. You told me I was crazy. I said, that's all I got for the Browns. That's it. Well, now, Wycliffe, you vote a certain way. That's the last night you can get five grand. Okay, we're moving on. Thank you very much, Mark. I appreciate the call. Those kids are in second grade now. Oh, man, you think their parents ever remind them? That's the cradle, man. I know. That was Sheffield, right? That was that Sheffield that kindergarten teacher called me live and had the kids yelling in the, yeah, that was out of Brookside and that kindergarten for all the people who have just joined us two years ago. I had a kindergarten teacher call me live from her school from her school room, her classroom.
And all the kids, it's basically an episode of the office with Scott's tauts. And I got guilted in a guaranteeing a Browns victory into the kids. And then they went out and lost. And I got blamed for it somehow. The Browns andeptic. You get caught up in the moment. I get it. It happens. Do I ever do that? Are there going to be other teachers that call in with their kids and make me guarantee Browns victories in the future? That is a vivid memory. How could you not remember it? I remember the feeling I had after they lost. I felt I let all those poor kids down. It's like if Babe Ruth didn't hit the second home run. Who the hell knows what would happen. All right. Why do I need a polygraph? I will tell you why we need a polygraph because we are inundated with calls of people who want to attack my credibility over taking the Browns week one. I'm sorry. I promise you. In five minutes, I will explain to you why I need to be. I need a fine officer of the law out there to bring us in a polygraph as soon as possible.
