About this episode
What if you can't feel grateful?
If you've been listening to my podcast for a while now, you know I'm a huge proponent of gratitude journals. And while they can be life changing and super helpful, there are times in our lives that we just can't feel grateful , especially when we're burnt out.
Kate Donovan, an expert on burnout and the author of the Bounce Back Ability Factor explains that when we're experiencing extreme sadness, anger, or burnout, we can't experience the physiological benefits of a gratitude journal.
Instead, she suggests we do a resentment journal. Yes. resentment journal. She calls resentment our superpower because it gives us information as to what boundary might be missing. She defines resentment as a feeling of unfairness, either because you are over giving or under recognized.
