#044 What are You Trying to Get Right?

About this episode

Welcome back to Finding Joy in the Hard. I'm your host, Suzanne Andorra Baron.

As you may know, I teach Yoga for Stress Management at a community college. Last week, my students turned in the gratitude reflections.

One student wrote multiple times, "I don't think I have anything to be grateful for."

My response to him was I think you're overthinking this. You're trying to figure out the perfect thing. When we overthink, and we try so hard, we freeze.

He's not unique. We all do that.  So what are you trying to get right? Trying to do perfectly?

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, trying is all about little finger energy. We can hold the little finger to calm that constant need to try, to calm that need to pretend, to accept ourselves as we are.
