The Founders of our Constitutional Republic had a very clear intent in mind to preserve the God-given rights of every person in this Constitutional Republic. By the way, we have to say this is a republic. It's not a democracy or a founder. We're very clear about that. And the way in which that preservation takes place is that generation to generation to generation must be trained in our Founders view of law and government in an understanding of the Declaration of Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the subsequent amendments, or else we, our Founders, said, or else we would lose our liberties. Well, this is Don't In Buy the Cool Aid on Pastor David Whitney Senior Instructor at Institute on the Constitution. And with me this morning, I have the wonderful privilege of having Joni Bryan, who founded
an organization several years back called 917 Society. And Joni, welcome to the show this morning Don't In Buy the Cool Aid. Thank you for having me. Tell us what is the 917 phrase supposed to check in people's mind? Why should they, what should that remind them of here? Well, 917 stands for a date. It is September 17th. And that is the day that our Constitution was signed into law in 1787. And when I started the organization, we haven't been really even honoring or doing anything about Constitution Day. And so I wanted it to be something that would remind people of that very, very important day in our history. And when we talk about this, many people, I mean, we're right up against it right now. I mean, here we are in September and just a few days from now that we're going to honor that. And many people have no idea that that day is of any significance whatsoever. But I understand several years ago there was a federal law pass that required every school
in America that received any federal funds whatsoever had to do something on 917. Something to honor the Constitution or teach the Constitution or something to that effect. We see in most of the school districts, they don't do a thing at all. Is that what your experience has been? Well, absolutely. And I didn't know anything about this mandate. It's a federal mandate 108-447. And it says that all schools, Kathy Toil, all universities and all federal employees are to have a program on the Constitution on our around September 17th. And what's interesting is it was signed into law as Constitution Day in 2004 by George Bush. But it was actually mandated in 1959 as citizenship day. And then it changed name. So it's actually been going on for years and years and years. It's been in the mandate.
But I never had Constitution Day. And when I'm out speaking and talking to people, I'll say, did anyone have Constitution Day? They just look at me like I'm crazy. So for a long time, it's the late 50s, they've recognized we need to train people in the Constitution. And the sad thing, Joni, is that when we see what's happened in our public education system and I hesitate to call it an education system because I see it so much as an indoctrination system, but what they don't teach and what they've actually eliminated from the curriculum is civics. Wait a minute. So of all things, you're going to have this graduate at 18 years old. He turns 18 or she turns 18. They registered the vote, but they know nothing. They can't tell you what the three branches of government are. They can't tell you how many amendments there are to the Constitution. They can't even tell you what articles one through seven are about. They know absolutely nothing. And yet we are going to entrust them to choose to participate in this system that is supposed to, it's all designed to preserve our God-given rights.
Well, the fact of the matter is if they don't understand it, they're going to kind of vote in a way at all to preserve our God-given rights. They're going to vote to take them away. That's what you say. Absolutely. And that's what really motivated me because I have an education. I'd always voted. But until I had this conversation with someone at the place where I worked, he was a retired lawyer, a constitutional lawyer. And we were having a debate and he said to me, he said, my dear, when is the life last time you read your Constitution and he put a Constitution in my face, in that moment I realized I had no clue. I had never read it. Bits and pieces in school, but never actually read it. And it made it real when he put it in my hand. All of a sudden it became real. It was not just this document in Washington behind glass. This was something that I possessed, that it was mine. And so that's what we hope to do with our project, with reaching our young people, was
we want to create a sense of ownership to this document and connect them to the document just like it did me because when I started reading it, my views changed. My idea of government, everything changed because I realized so many of the things we're doing today in our government, we're not aligned with what's in the Constitution. And so I said, wait a minute. We've got to do some rethinking here. And so that's what we hope we do with this project is to get our young people thinking for themselves, what does this mean to me? And I try to like it. It would teach the US Constitution to students that if you go to get your car repaired and you go into the office there before you give them the keys and hand over the authority to actually do the repair on your car, you sign a contract. And that contract stipulates what they can do, you say, please change the oil, tune up the car and so forth. So the contract limits what the company can do without your permission.
You've given them specific permission in that contract. And if you come back at the end of the day and they say, well, here's your bill, you're going to pay $5,000. Well, they've got a five out what we changed out your transmission. How did you do that? And they said, well, you signed a contract. Now, if you had that contract and you never read it, you know, there might be a lot of fine print in there. What if the contract said the mechanic can do whatever he deems in the best interest of the car? And so you have no, I mean, your checkbook is wide open at that point. They could do anything. They could replace every part of the car and charge you $100,000. You would never sign such a contract. And I dare say that we, the American people are doing that on a daily basis. We haven't read the contract. Which is what the Constitution is. The contract, which we, the people have created our federal government and our federal government. Obviously, it has authority over our state governments in certain areas, granted to the federal government. But if we don't understand the contract, and as you are mentioning, they're not obeying
the contract in Washington, DC, they're doing, oh, 80 plus percent, maybe things every day that are a violation of the contract. And we don't know the contract. We're at fault. Right. We need to know the document. We need to know the contract. In order to hold our elected officials accountable to that contract. Absolutely. Absolutely. So what, what success have you seen so far in terms of getting constitutions in the hands of students around the country? Well, when we started, I really thought it would just be here in middle Tennessee. And so our first year, we got out 25,000 in middle Tennessee schools. And I thought we were doing really big funders with that. So I really didn't, I didn't realize just how it would take off. And so each year we would increase that printing budget, increased, you know, getting to the kids. And now we're in all 50 states and are printing this year's 2 million. And so pretty exciting because our young people, and this is a, I think this statistic gave
me a lot of encouragement and helped this generation in the eighth grade, this middle school generation that we saw is the most conservative generation in the last 50 years. Wow. Wow. Well, that's a curation. Yes, it's very encouraging because they're seeing a lot of things going on and our kids are smart and they're questioning, you know, you can't one day wake up and be a boy and the next day be a girl. And they realize that that just doesn't make sense, you know. And so they're questioning these things that they've been taught. And isn't that what our youth do? I mean, I did it. You did it when we were teenagers, you know. And so it's really cool, the way that, you know, the way that our young people are responding and, and are questioning things. And we want to give them the tools. We want to give them those resources when they are questioning. And so you have groups or individuals around the country who are actually hand delivering these pocket constitutions to the students in the schools.
Yes. Well, what we do is we work with the volunteer network. And so anybody can volunteer any group, you know, we have groups, we have individuals. And so to help us get the word out, now schools can order direct, but it's really hard to get through to schools with filters and things like that. And so we ask community volunteers to call the school, let them know about our free program, cost the school nothing. We raise money all year to print and distribute these to the schools. And so they can sign up online and we'll start opening up again in the spring. They can sign up online to call their school, let them know about the program. And once it's accepted, because it's hard to believe, but there are some schools that don't consent. But then they find out how many eighth graders for this coming year or get a good estimate. And then we ship constitutions. And so we have a few smaller orders that come in, but right now the bulk of every order is going out as of today. So we're really excited about that. And you're the thick of it.
Yeah, we're in the thick of it. But they'll go out to the volunteers and then the volunteers will take them to the schools. And you know, it's a lot of fun because sometimes like if you got a big county to give an example, Broward County, Florida, I have a lady there who's a volunteer. And they have a big volunteer party and they get together in the decorate boxes and they just have a blast. They have a big dinner. It's just so much fun. And so we like to feature that and so people can go to our website and they can see the pictures and different things. We'll get our newsletter and we let them see all the things going on across the country. And then we have a big classroom contest. But the kids, once they get to the school, they can see the kids. Once they get their constitutions, we want to make sure that they do something really cool. So we have a classroom contest that they can enter and they get pretty competitive with that. And that classroom contest, for example, what would be some of the things that you're having the students do in that class?
Well, we don't tell them what to do. We just tell them, you know, here is for a constitution day, user creativity is up to you. And it's so cool. We've had the beautiful pictures come in with these jacket and flags. We had one guy do a marching band thing on the field. We had a lot, we have a lot of them that dress up as founders and they recreate the signing. Cool. And so they'll send those pictures and videos. And this year for the 250th anniversary, we were giving $25, $250 gift cards to classrooms across the country. So that's $5,000 in prices. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I love teaching young people the constitution. I participated each year in a group called camp constitution up in New Hampshire. And we do a jeopardy game at the end of the week. So they've been studying the constitution through the week. We pick all kinds of specific questions from the constitution. And some really tough questions. Some of them I think that the adults in the room aren't able to answer.
But the kids are, they're busy looking through their constitution. And they are very eager. So that competition is really exciting to see because it dives them in on a level where they really understand what the constitution is saying. And this is so important because one of the things our founders warned us about is that this system of government that they were establishing does not operate on an autopilot. You know, it's not just you show up every four years and you click the right levers in the voting booths. And you have to be actively involved in jony. That's why I appreciate what you're doing so much because you have jumped off the couch like a lot of Americans are sitting right now. Jumped off the couch as you got involved in the fray because to preserve our constitutional republic. Take citizens in every area and every walk of life. So praise God, Johnny, Johnny, that you have stepped up and are doing that because we need to recover our country. Absolutely right that are our actions taking place in Washington DC by those who represent us are often directly contrary to what our founder said you can listen to most politicians in Washington talk about us as a democracy.
And we're going to talk all day long our founders of board democracy you can read James Madison you can read you can read all the founders they said we are not a democracy because that's a system where 50% plus one who vote determined what law is. 50% plus one say everybody over the age 60 gets executed in the morning at dawn. That's the law of the land it's whatever the mob and that's what our found some of our founders called democracy a mobocracy whatever the mob wants to be the law that becomes the law. And therefore your God given right to life, the liberty property all of that's gone under a mobocracy or as a people like to call it a democracy well. Our system of God was designed to protect God given rights and that's one of the things that most people miss even if they talk about rights. You know I have a right to commit so to me some people say which is absolutely wrong because you can't have a right to do something which God says is wrong because rights come from God.
So God says this is what's rightness what's wrong you never have the right to do what is wrong to murder or do other things. So that worldview is really what needs to be inculcated that the people understand our founder said there is a creator God our rights come from him the only purpose of human civil government is to protect those God given rights. That's the foundation of our whole constitutionally public every element of our constitution as well as our bill of rights and subsequent amendments is based upon that view of law and government. And so praise God that you're having students who are studying reading and receiving the constitution so that they can get that world view of our founders and by the way the booklet that you're given I noticed has the declaration of independence on one side right yes we have the declaration in there we have the constitution of course with all the amendments the signers names and then at the last page is the actual oath of citizenship. And if you're born here you don't take that oath so I want to give that opportunity to see that out then and understand that out on that that's important johnny because when you look at that oath it's it's a you for sake allegiance to all foreign governments all all which means there should be no dual citizens in the United States period right there's evidence we have dual citizens in Congress of all.
These people who are they when they vote who are they voting on behalf of the other government or this government right yeah so glad you include the citizenship both because everybody ought to be concerned that we are swearing allegiance to these United States alone and not to some foreign power well when we are we're going to go to a break here in just a moment but when we come back from the break want to talk about you talked about how people are involved want to talk about how. People who are listening to our podcast can themselves become involved and be part of this project to reach the next generation and even to reach our current citizens in our land. America out loud dot news is that place to awaken your heart soul and mind to the out loud truth. Welcome back to don't invite the Kool-Aid where the podcast that looks at the issues of our day and all the truth claims that are coming your way with two litmus test two ways in which you can test whether what you're being told is Kool-Aid which obviously is very dangerous to you. You're a health you're well being if you and buy the Kool-Aid but the two litmus tests that we use at this podcast is first of all the word of God God's word the Bible is absolute truth everything in it you can trust to be true and anything that claims otherwise than what the Bible says don't ever trust it that's Kool-Aid don't invite that the second standard we use is what we're talking about this morning our constitution our declaration of independence bill of rights subsequent amendments these are a test by which we measure. Whether those who are representing us at the federal level or even at the state or county or township level all the way down to the lowest level of elected office do these people actually do what they are swearing an oath before Almighty God to do because everyone federal state and even local swear an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States and one of the good questions you can ask particularly in this election cycle where people are asking for your vote is asking the question what's the purpose of government.
It's right there in the opening paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence the purpose of government is to secure our God given rights usually you'll hear some socialist answer out create a level playing field to do for those who can't do for them all that's that's not our founders view at all the whole purpose of human civil government is to protect God given rights and the second thing you want to ask after they answer that question right wrong is have you studied the United States Constitution. Because if you win your your race and you win your office you're going to be swearing an oath to uphold that constitution have you studied it well as a senior instructor at institute on the Constitution I invite you if you have not studied the US Constitution go to our website the American view calm and take on a course that will help train you with our founders view of law and government well this morning we're talking with Johnny Brian and her excellent organization 917 society that we're going to talk about. It is getting in the hands of students all across our country a copy of the Declaration Constitution bill of rights and I love it as we mentioned before the break that you would clue the citizenship oath and you include that even though most of the students are probably born here so they don't have to take that oath but maybe it would be a good idea to require everyone before they gain the right to vote to have to swear that oath yes maybe that would eliminate all the Marxists you know people like my mommy up in New York.
I'm not a city and you know a. O. C. and these other Marxists who want to destroy our Constitution Republic. Maybe they ought to have to swear the Constitution the oath of citizenship before they they are even allowed to run for office. And there's also something that I feel is strongly about is there needs to be repercussions when they violate their oath not just not get elected there should be some repercussions. And there is a in our Constitution of the clause for treason if you're working for our enemies if you're working for communist China if you have a spy on your staff for communist China Nancy Pelosi and others say oh yeah that way to that you you're engaged in treason. And it's something like what mandami is doing up there in New York City he's undermining and he's stealing property from he's doing everything in violation because he's a Marxist he holds that we should own no property the government should own everything and people like that should not be not only not allowed to run for office and hold office but you're right there should be actual civil penalties that they face for doing so.
Absolutely absolutely because right now we have two views in this country that's dividing this country we have those who believe in the Constitution and those who believe in the socialist Marxist agenda you cannot have both they cannot coexist. So we can't have the socialism that they're promoting and be under the Constitution it's not possible. Amen and there's another group that are aligning themselves very closely with the Marxist socialist group and those are the mohamidins which is kind of strange you would think the mohamidins wouldn't have anything to do with socialist of Marxist but I think the two of them together think they can take down America because we know what the Muhammad and say their goal is to destroy our constitutional republic their goal is to impose Sharia law on every single one of us. So they're kind of both a belligerence that hate our country want to destroy our country and take our country down so I think they've joined forces somewhere calling it the red green axis the red being the communist Marxist socialist the green being the mohamidins the two of them together hate America.
If you look at these rallies that the mohamidins they hate America the socialist hate America well if you hate America so much hate don't let the screen door hitch on the way out you know glad to give you you can leave we would glad to give you maybe a one way ticket to how would you like Venice way. So they're in starved to death because socialism never ever works Marxism is always a catastrophe we can send you to Cuba though I think maybe Cuba might be able to be rescued because I think the people in Cuba are very very tired of the Marxism and they're ready for something that's better than that so maybe they can be rescued but Venezuela seems like a completely lost cause where your property rights are not secure just a little little story of a friend of mine I made in college who was from Columbia South America. He studied ceramics and went back and established factories to build a ceramic plants and so forth and he lived on the border of Venezuela so he thought well you know there's plenty of people over in Venezuela don't have work so we decided to start a factory over in Venezuela to make bricks and he employed a bunch of people the factories going very well until chavez stole the election by the way they used machines to steal the election in Venezuela and those exact machines that were used to steal the election in Venezuela guess where they are now.
They're in America and almost all the precincts of America are using the same software same machines that shot as you well and Marxist as soon as he came to power to do he stole my friend's factory didn't pay him a penny for it didn't pay him for anything he had done any investment he had made he lost everything it was stolen outright because that's what Marxists do they steal property because they do not believe God's word which says thou shalt not steal they say oh no you individual you can't steal but the government steals every single thing. People need to understand your God giving right the property is gone if the Marxists get into power. But yet the Marxists they don't live under that the ones who are in power you know they live luxury elite lives all of them do you know and that's what I don't understand it's hard for me to understand how anyone could go along with any of that because the leaders of those movements none of them live under what they're teaching none of them. Yeah so it's kind of like they say and the way they sell themselves is we're all for the poor we're going to help the poor downtrodden and povers blah blah blah it's a lie but they live in a million dollar man.
That's right they're going to help themselves and they fall private you know explain that you know yeah yeah so it's kind of a new form of feudalism but actually it's presented in such a deceptive manner that people don't catch on until it's too late. Right you know a man on the lives very very high on the hog but people a New York City are going to suffer greatly once his economic policy strips the city of property owners people who own buildings and you know people who like the billionaire that was living there that he did a little video of say yeah there's that evil man let's get him. That man fled New York and took his billions of dollars that he was going to invest in businesses and you know he took those billions will. So New York suffered because the Marxist said that evil man is rich and we need to take his money from him and this is you know this is all violation of what God's word clearly says it's a person has gained their wealth by honest means not like a George Soros who you know killed his fellow citizens there hungry did a bunch of evil things to get wealth now not that but if a person has gained their wealth honestly they have a God given right to keep that property.
Absolutely absolutely. Well as you interact with individuals across the country how can someone be part of your organization to help distribute the the Constitution's because I know what you had experienced yourself where someone personally gave you the copy of the Constitution is what you would like to see happen to every student across America. So you want not just a ship a batch of constitutions to a school but to have a representative of the 917 society come and give those constitutions to the students. Well every school is different on what they allow so in some cases we have some of our groups that are allowed to do programs like our American veterans the Ambes program there are a lot of times that the schools will let them come and do a program about their service and then give constitutions. It just depends on the school but we want to make sure that someone in the community is communicating with that school so that they have that point person that knows that they can get the Constitution's from and so they know that every year they're going to be getting them and now here in Tennessee we've been doing this for 11 years this is our 11th year and now our school is expected.
We don't love because you know like I get emails all the time are we getting our constitutions again this year and of course now they don't even ask because they know but that was really cool you know getting those and so we want that we want that across this country that this the teachers expect them the students expect them they know they're getting them make it a ride of passage every year every 8th grader and it's a big deal we want to make it a big big deal for our kids that when you go into 8th grade you get your constitution. It's really cool. Wonderful. So are there are ways people can join and help you out in doing that? Absolutely. Absolutely. Of course go to our website at 917society.org and you can sign up for the newsletter and when you do that we'll send you a complimentary constitution that we give the students and so you can keep up with all the things going on because we do provide constitutions year round but because our focus is to honor and celebrate Constitution. This is the bulk of our season so come springtime we will open up the order system so that you can sign up in your community for your school and there's a place that says order constitutions and it'll show you a school map we have public and private on their schools and you can pick the schools that you're interested in serving and then you call the school of course make sure that they know about the program they're willing to accept it.
And then you get your number of students and then you put your order in with us and then come summertime we get everything processed and we get them out to you and so you can actually deliver those to the school and some group some people do a whole county and they may do you know have a group let's say an bat's you know we'll have a big group and this year we signed on conventional states we've had moms we have moms for liberty every year that are fantastic. So groups can do it as a group project or individuals can do it you know or any kind of community group rotary 70 and we have D.A.R. S.I.R. so many different groups that get involved but as an individual you can just say hey I want to do this and we have a lot of individuals that just sign up so they go to the website and it'll open up the new order system will open up in the spring and of course if you're on this letter you'll know what all this stuff is that and so you'll get your dates and everything for that and so you'll be able to get involved. So that's nine 17 society dot org nine 17 society dot org to get involved and this is a great project because you know many of the schools are doing things that are actually violating the Constitution for example my high school back in New Jersey that I haven't heard in the news ever but I caught a news blip that they were discriminating against a Christian organization fellowship of Christian athletes well known Christian
organization all over the country that meets on school campuses and they were saying that that organization unlike all the other organizations after school clubs that meet and so forth that organization alone could not have any outside speakers any outside person come when all the other clubs all are allowed to have outside speakers and so on and so for a year another's a lawsuit going forward and pray that they will succeed but for a year they discriminate against these Christians or other people that are not going to be a great thing to do. So that's why they're not going to be a great thing to do against these Christians and only the students were able to meet without any adult outside help it's like why well they don't understand the first amendment to the Constitution and so the school the authorities that run the school and the school board are obviously themselves ignorant of that and you know I've just appalled that I led a Bible club in that school this is number years back but we had you know I had a sponsor that was one of the staff on the school with people who come outside speakers we did all of the other things that we did. So that no problem but that was you know 40 plus years ago that took place but you know to see that the school system itself has gotten such far distance from our founders view of law and government that they think they can violate the God given rights of the students to freedom of religion and get away with it.
Right back they continue to push back and that's why the lawsuit's happening because basically it's only the courts of the courts rule correctly that will force the school to actually abide by the Constitution. So I don't live in that area anymore but pray that Lord would raise up some folks there that would make 917 society dot org their project and take the Constitution is it in the school not only for the students but especially for the principal and the school board and all the people who are making these evil decisions in violation of the first amendment to the Constitution. And I trust that these people are doing it because they believe they're doing the right thing and this is a you know if that's the case they're woefully ignorant they need an education. They're the supposed educators know they need an education and they're missing out on what our Constitution actually says. Absolutely and that's a conversation we had in Washington when I went with the Board of Education or the Department of Education excuse me that was a conversation we had and it was many of these teachers in our schools truly believe what they were taught and so what they're teaching they believe they're right and they don't realize that the history that they were taught was not our correct history.
So how do we undo that you know that that's where we're at right now and that that's a struggle. Amen and that that struggle is going to go on unless we reeducate those who can be I think there's some socialist that you know it's pretty lost cause for them but we can especially the next generation if we can reach them. Right. So we'll become the leaders in 20 years 15 years so forth so as these old boomers go off the stage. I'm in the boomer generation so I can say that about our they go off the stage they're going to be replaced by the young people up and coming so if we could reach the next generation and that's why you know I love your targeting of the eighth graders because they're the people that we need to reach with the truth about our founding and and encourage them to read the Constitution and a declaration for the next generation. So we're going to go off the stage for themselves and educate themselves even if the school won't do a good job of actually teaching them here's what the founders view of law and government was here's the basic creed of our Constitution was this there is a creator God and that's the God of the Bible our rights come from him and from him alone and the only purpose of human civil government is to protect those God given rights would the God that every student graduating this year from high school and that's several million are going to graduate this year maybe three or four million that they would have the
view of law and government because I believe they would vote in a very different way than what they are going to be trained to vote as socialist quite often in most of the school systems of our country. Right absolutely absolutely. Well there's so much to talk about in terms of what we need to recover in America but it's not just the schools that we need to reach we need to reach the churches and so when we go to break here in just a moment I want you to come back from break to talk about the next project that involves reaching the churches of America and this to me is very close to my heart because I feel one of the failures that has happened in America is the failure of the pulpits. And it was we study the history of our country we know that if it wasn't for the colonial pulpits preaching the whole council of God and preaching what God's words as about law and government we never would have had a american revolution we would never have separated from break Britain. Our country would never have existed the pulpits are critical so when we come back from break we're going to talk about that this is don't invite the cool it on your host pastor David Whitney and with me is Johnny Brian of nine seventeen society dot org but go to America out loud news dot news America out loud dot news make it your source of news and information and stay with us as we come back from the break don't invite the cool it wouldn't go a day without brushing your teeth or washing.

constitutions being put in the hands of students particularly eighth graders all across the country I think you said you distributed more than a million at this point in time. More than that yeah I mean that's just this year. This year wow yeah over a million this year so it's a gosh for the last ten years I'd have to sit and add it all up it's a wall a million cent. Wonderful because that book in the hands of a student who will open it read it and study it can change their as it did for you change the whole perspective on what our government is about and obviously how they as a citizen need to be part of defending and. Protecting this constitutional republic and voting for candidates who will defend and protect this constitutional republic and obviously when they turn eighteen they'll have the opportunity to vote training them to understand that so reaching students critically important but I love the second project that your organization has taken up here because I have a real heart for pastors being a pastor myself for forty plus years now and and the fact that the pulpits in America have gone silent on so good.
So many issues because they believe the false lie about separation church and state they believe the false view of what the Bible says about long government and so. Tell us about this new project to reach churches and to reach pastors. Well this came about from being obedient to God we were called last year organization to recreate the wall of George Washington when he was inaugurated he marched federal hall is very first act was marching from federal hall to Saint Paul's chapel in New York City and he dedicated a country to God and we were called to do that and we didn't really know why it was just we were supposed to do this on April 30th of this year. So we were a group of our organization we flew to New York with George Washington in uniform to New York City and we made that wall we had a wonderful reception by the way it was wonderful and so when we got back from doing that and of course I love you we don't know the story of why that so significant in today's time because on September 11th of 2001 when the twin towers failed.
But on the one chapel were George Washington dedicated a country to God that chapel did not have a brick destroy a window broken out and it's called the miracle that Saint Paul's chapel. Yes. And so it's believed because George Washington his very first act he didn't go to a party. He didn't go to his first that was to walk to the chapel with his new Congress and to dedicate a country to God. From that we were obedient and the next week after that we had a phone call and that is what happened is the God and country permission and so in the 2024 election 32 million Christians who are registered to vote did not vote. Wow wow tragic. And so we were led to do something about it and so we also work with our organization called the first American Bible project the Bible of the American Revolution is called the Aiken Bible and during the revolution we ran out of Bibles and so King George had the license for the King James version of the Bible and he would not let them print his Bible.
So Robert Aiken who was working with Congress at the time, Connell Congress, he took it upon himself to print the Bible for the columnist and it is a King James version of one. So we had Bibles and so that is called the Bible of the American Revolution and so what we have been doing is placing those in schools fourth eighth and eleventh grade for the historical purposes of that Bible because of the significance of that. And so the God and country permission is so exciting because what we're doing is we are working and we're doing the pilot project right now the next three months leading up to the election we want to get we were in six different states and we're getting churches and ministers activated to share the story of the Bible and we're giving each charge an actual replica of that Bible. And last week you gave me one it's beautiful. Thank you so much it's a beautiful. It's a it's a I understand exact replica of yes at original and just a beautifully done thank you so much Johnnie we appreciate that our church is going to we're going to have a special service where we focus on what that Bible meant the Revolution Bible. Yeah.
Absolutely and that dates coming up where it was actually approved by Congress September 12 so I would encourage any minister listening to this any church person tell your minister about this because they can get a Bible they can get constitutions for all the church members and it's all totally paper that it does not cost a thing just have to reach out and so we're excited about that because we want to get our church members understand that we want to get our church members. And then that we're supposed to vote it's part of our stewardship. Yes. God gave us that ability he gave us this country he gave us the this country so that we can elect people to represent our voices so if we don't do that something else will fill that void. That's right. So we must and so we want to encourage so part of this project is we have our this Friday I'll be filming a presentation with David Barton with wall builders about the importance of the church voting.
And so we'll be showing that presentation so churches can have that presentation. It's three about 15 minutes that they can share and then we also will have the Bibles and the Constitution so we have county ambassadors in these counties and we will you can reach out to them or you can reach out to our God in country dot org. And it's the email is God in country at non 17 society dot org and you can write to us and we will gladly get you plugged in to a county ambassador when the national program opens up in January for the next two years we're going to be working to activate the church is give the ministers preaching from the pulpit about this beautiful church. And so we will put about this beautiful first American Bible that was approved by Congress to share the Constitution I want you know our Constitution came from biblical principles and so we need to get back to our foundation so with the non 17 society we reach students with the Constitution but now our mission is the same our Bibles and Constitutions but our audiences.
And so we're going to be the churches and we're so excited about it so we want to get everybody excited about this project because it's a part of our history that wasn't taught I did not know about this Bible until 2020 and I've been doing this project with non 17 since 2014 and yeah and so I did I didn't even know about the Bible and I thought wow and here I'm in this and I'm around it and I didn't know about it so it's just something that's not taught in our schools it's not taught in our history but it is our true history and that's what I was mentioning earlier about our teachers they have not been taught just like I wasn't taught certain things and so we've got to teach the true history that I was going to teach the truth. I think that our Black world regiment you know the pastors that influenced our declaration of independence who would have never had the declaration without those pastors and so it's so important for us to get back to our real history and as you said there is no separation of church and state in the Constitution and people twist that they try to twist that around and so it's very frustrating because you know
you know John Adams said himself our Constitution was made only for moral and religious people is wholly inadequate to the government of any other you know if you read our founders actual statements it goes back to biblical they were founding everything on what God's word said you know not man's word but what God's word said and so we've got to get back to that and voting isn't just a right it is part of our state. We've got to do for our leadership God's given us a voice on how our nation is governed and if you're silent it's not neutrality as a lot of churches try to say oh we're just being neutral it's neglect and we just have to be real honest about that. Yes and be bold it's that's right. You are neglecting your deity you're neglecting your stewardship you're neglecting what God ordained you to do you know and he gave us this wonderful country and so we're excited to be able to share it in such a positive way that we have been prepared. be able to share it in such a positive uplifting way. We're presenting you like you were excited
to get to the survival. Yes, I received the aching Bible is beautiful. And I hope every past or listening to this, every church member says, we want one of these Bible, our church. We want constitutions for all of our congregation. We've got imprinted and ready to go. And so we're really excited about that. Amen, Johnny. Johnny, thank you. You know, one of the things that people don't realize is that having a copy of the Bible was rare, even in the colonies. I mean, Bibles were very expensive. And if there was, you know, if a family had books in the home, most likely they would have a Bible, but there were a lot of people who were too poor to be even afford a Bible. So there was the American Bible Society started out of Philadelphia. I think it was called the Pennsylvania Bible Society originally. But anyway, our first Supreme Court justice, John Jay was the head of that organization. His goal was to get a Bible into the hands of every family, every house, not a chicken and every pot, but a Bible in every home. And so the founders recognized without the word of God, our nation is going to go adrift. It's going to turn away from
the truth and to turn to worshiping idols rather than to worshiping the one true God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And people when they hear me say things like our nation was, as you say, dedicated to God by George Washington dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ, our founders had a phrase that was their slogan explaining in short, why the war for independence was taking place. They said, no king, but King Jesus. Now, there's no one walk King George III or any other monarch. Do you want Jesus Christ to be the king of these United States? And people read the Constitution. They ought to especially focus on something at the very end just before they sign their names. And Article VII, it says this is done in the year of our Lord. And then they give the dates of 1887, you know, September and so forth. But it's our Lord. They were not referring to some Buddhist Bible Hindu, idol or any other or the false idol, the moon idol worship by Muhammadins. They
were referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, signing their names in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ. And there's various elements throughout the Constitution itself that reveal that they were respecting the Christian faith and following the Christian faith. For example, no business could be done on Sunday. No, no bills were to be passed, which by the way, interestingly enough, when did Obama care path on a Sunday, illegally, unconstitutionally? And I think they probably did that on purpose to sum their nose at the Lord Jesus Christ, that was kind of evil people that pushed that forward. But we need to understand that the roots of our entire constitutional republic, the whole idea of protecting God-given rights comes from God's word. You go to Saudi Arabia where they worship the moon idol. You don't have any rights at all. The people in power can do whatever they want, including kill you if they choose to without any trial. You have no religious freedom there. Same if you go to a Hindu country that's controlled by Hinduism or Buddhist country controlled by Buddhism. There's no freedom except in following Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is the author
of liberty. In fact, if you want to have true liberty, you'll come to faith in Jesus Christ. But even if you don't come to faith in Jesus Christ, our country, our belief system is one that would protect your God-given rights in spite of the fact that you were not a Christian. Absolutely. It is only because we are a Christian nation that all are welcome here. That's the job of the church is to share. Christianity cannot be legislated. It can't be indoctrinated. It is a choice of the heart. That's what people have to understand. That's where the misconception comes in because they get it confused with religion. Other world religions out there that we're seeing, it's not the same thing. Christianity is a personal choice of your heart. Our founders knew that. We had to have that religious liberty. I love, I think, 2nd Corinthians 317, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Amen. Yes. I have that on my wall. I think it's so important for us to remember that as Christians,
we have our religion, our belief system is just so unique in the world because it is a choice, a personal choice that you make. Nobody can force you. Nobody can make you. I think that's what a lot of misconceptions come in because people who aren't familiar with Christ, they don't understand that it can't be forced upon you. This is so beautiful that you're reaching churches of pastors because that's really the other element that needs to be reached in our culture to bring us about, but turn about back to our founders' principles of law and government. And the founding principles were all taught from the pulpit, the colonial pulpit, before the war for independence. There's research done looking at sermons of that era. We have the sermons because the sermons were not just preached. There was either a person that took them down in shorthand and then later put them in print of them or the pastor himself wrote a manuscript.
And so that was sent to the printer. Most newspaper in every town, the front page of the newspaper, for that following week was the sermon in the pulpit from the previous Sunday. And some sermons became so well known and they were spread all over the colonies and everyone read certain sermons. And those sermons were what shaped the understanding of the people that enabled them to say, we can, based on God's word, God's law, separate from Great Britain and form a system of government that will protect what God's word says government is supposed to do. Government is supposed to protect the God given right to life, to liberty, to property. That's the job of the government. And that was preached from the pulpit and, Joni, that's why I'm so excited about this project because that's what needs to be recovered in America. We're the whole council of God because the word of God from Genesis to Revelation speaks about human civil government, what is supposed to do, where it's not supposed to do things, where that's either to family government or church government. All those things are established in God's word. But often that is not spoken about in the pulpits of America
today. We need to see that change in. And this is the first step towards that change. So, congratulations. I have so excited. And thank you again for giving the Akin Bible, the Bible of the Revolution. My congregation is used to hearing sermons that draw together what scripture says regarding law and government. But we know that many, many pulpits do not. So I thank you for doing that. So people can get involved with that project in what particular way and what would be the path of their involvement? Yes. Well, they can go to God and country.org and that will lead them to the website. It'll share what we're actually offering the churches, the Bible, the presentation that we have. It's a 15 minute video presentation. Then all the constitutions they need for the congregation. So all that's provided, it does a person the thing to get involved. And they just have to reach out and they can also email at God and country at 917society.org. They can also email. So they can email or
then go to the website and it also says the email on there so they can just reach out. And we're in six states right now. We're right now in Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin. I'm sorry, seven. Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and I believe that said. And they can get involved in those states. It'll show a list of the different counties we're in right now during the pilot project. But come January, all across the country, we're opening it up. So the churches can get involved with us. And so we'll be real excited about that to be able to provide these things for our churches to get back to our founding, to get back to the foundation, which is our Bible, which is a institution. It's so simple. It's not complicated. You know, it's so what would you encourage people to say to their pastor is, you know, if they're getting involved in doing this, what kind of message or is it are messaging given to them there on the website of sort of the conversation they could have with their pastor because you know, pastors are often reluctant. They say, I don't want to
get political. It's like, well, this is not political. This is biblical. Right. It absolutely is. And I think that that is something that we're trying to share with with our ministers. We have some different presentations and things. But, um, you know, what we're trying to do is encourage them that the church, when the, when the church withdraws, you know, and the church doesn't participate, it creates a vacuum that gets filled by something else. And that's what we're seeing today. So saying you're neutral, you know, you can, you can aren't. You're allowing something else to come in. And so, um, it's important because our Bible teaches us that we are to be involved. There's example after example of examples of, you know, look at Joseph, you know, in the Bible, who is involved in government. Look at Daniel, you know, look at Esther, you look at all these different, um, people in the Bible who were involved in their political environment of their day. And so we're called to do that also because if we don't, something
else will be in your just as responsible, if you don't do anything, you're just as responsible for whatever's going on. So, you know, like what's happened, and, you know, you're responsible for it. So check it out at 917society.org. I'm uh, get involved. Bring back the change that's needed in America. God bless.
