Preserving American democracy against communist threats

0:00Good day listeners and welcome to Don't Invite the Cool Aid, Kim Kennedy here your host for today. So glad that you joined us and we have a very big interesting conversational tab. We're going to talk about America's 100 year war, how to win against communism and folks I marvel how communists have been more strategic I think than those who say that they love liberty and I include myself in that and being very clever about changing their tactics while not changing their core message. Talking today with Dr. Bradley Thayer who's the author of America's 100 Years War, how to win against communism. Dr. Thayer or should I call you Brad? What is your preference?

1:00Oh you can call me Brad Kim, I'll call you Kim. Yes, please yes, but Brad the first thing I thought of when I started reading about this it seems to me first and foremost you're describing an ideology that has learned to change its marketing strategy. Would that be a little bit about what this book includes? Absolutely Kim, communists are very good at language and at political warfare and they're very sensitive to if you will messaging for different audiences which accounts for a lot of their appeal. They cannot on the basis of their ideas of course they fail and if you look at the history of communism or if you look at the present situation today you can see that this is a message which is fundamentally at odds with Americanism and wherever it's been tried it's failed

2:02it always ends in blood and tears. But that doesn't stop them, they have the worst ideas but they are the best at imposing them on the rest of us. And so Americans need to recognize the fact that these guys are the New York Yankees of political warfare. They know how to penetrate a society, they know what to say and they know how to unhinge that society and so it is the reason why the countries in such great peril now because of the advances that they've taken and the fact that we haven't responded effectively. Well Brad so well said I agree with everything that you just said and as you're speaking I'm thinking to myself you know the devil's old tricks that go back to the garden of Eden right appealing to the idea that there's something better that you don't have to work for

3:03what you get in life. That because I think at the basis of communism Marxism whatever you want to call it is greed. I want what you have and I don't want to work for it. So the government is going to take it from you to give to me and I ask everybody and I'm going to ask you show me from history where that has worked. Yes it hasn't worked anywhere of course and we should never underestimate the appeal though the Vladimir Lenin the Russian leader of the Bolsheviks was driven by a profound hatred and incandescent hatred of Western society, of Western civilization and of democracies and that hate motivated him and led him obviously to his pathway in opposition to of course democracy and to Western civilization but the appeal of communism is not rooted only

4:08in hatred which is certainly present there's no doubt about that. It's also as you said Kim it's rooted in well the promise of something better the fact that they can make appeals at a popular level to people who are angry maybe at the present situation because they feel that there's there's injustice or they've been abused or something is wrong in a system and communism tells them hey I'm giving you a way to essentially avenge yourself and to write the wrongs that have been done it also was rooted in I think a naive tale people when their young want change they often want change they look at a present situation and they can say well we can do better than what the founding fathers did in the spirit of 1776 and the generations that came after the founding fathers who worked so hard when they're sweat and in their blood to give us the country that we have so the

5:08appeal is something which is if you will it's perpetual because it's always going to come up with people who are disenfranchised or angry or naively think that they can do better than the present system and that is part of why it's an ongoing threat we've been fighting it for a hundred years we haven't defeated it yet and let's hope that we'll be able to defeat it now I concur with you and I think education is a big part of it and I'm excited to get this book myself or you know this is right up my alley but we you know we're not naive enough to think that our form of government a constitutional republic where the legislators those who elected answer to those who elect them is perfect it is not but built into our system is the ability for the people to make changes does communism offer that no it doesn't it's a authoritarian so there is no change it will be what the party wants

6:15and demands so there is no freedom of action of course in a totalitarian communist system and folks need to recognize this the lies that they're promising are just lies and if you ever get them into power and Kim were apparently close to that happening if they ever come into power they will destroy the US as a constitutional republic and we will go down the path of tyranny I've been talking a lot about this book to many different audiences and I always stress to them that this is a revolutionary time we are in a period where the United States has faced an ideological challenge that's formidable that's communism that's very close to realizing its revolution and in opposition to that are Americans who seek to oppose it who want to sustain a constitutional republic the communists are so close Kim and you will know that

7:15if they were to return to power in January of 29 using 26 perhaps as a well spring or springboard to an election in 28 were they to return to power they would pack the Supreme Court they would increase the number of states adding virgin islands Puerto Rico, Washington DC they would destroy the Senate as an effective check and they would import immigrants by the tens of millions as we saw under Biden it wouldn't be 20 or 22 or 24 million that perhaps came in under Biden it would be 60 million or 80 million and those are the stakes and this is a situation that could be realized as early as January of 29 so we are in a revolutionary time America faces a choice like it hasn't ever before

8:19whether you're going to fall into a totalitarian ideology or whether we're going to be able to rescue America as America and you're not this isn't hyperbole folks this isn't scare tactics this is real this is happening now listen to the Democrat Socialist of America candidates listen to what they're saying 9-1-1 is justified one of their candidates said the ones who are backing away from him don't disagree with him they just want to win their elections so that at least the guy who said it was honest you know it's horrific what he said but he's he spoke the truth what he believes that his truth but what he's saying is an actuality and the reality and I don't know why there isn't any good investigative journalism apart from people like your South bread who do in depth research into the slogans that are thrown at us the words I mean if I was to ask you what life was like in North Korea or China today how would you answer that well it's horrific because the

9:27party the Communist Party in both cases makes every important decision there is no voice for the people it's simply it's lies built upon lies as all communist systems are so life is there there is absolutely horrific and we would not we can we know the history wherever this has been tried it's ended in the same way which is totalitarianism and executions and imprisonment and a gross abuse of human rights every aspect of that is inherent in a communist system so if it comes here heaven forbid it will be the same and and the urgency is has to be has to motivate I think Americans to recognize that the Democrats and the Democratic Socialists and can I really see the Democratic Socialists as just being a front organization communists are always very good about creating

10:32different organizations to advance their policies and to do so very shrewdly and the value of the Democratic Socialist is that it allows the Democratic Party to move faster to the left but it's the Democratic Party which is really the key actor here those in charge of the Democratic Party and the the major donors to the Democratic Party who are really the driving force of this of this revolutionary moment the DSA is appalling in what it says but those thoughts are shared I think by many at the elite of the Democratic Party they're not just they're just too smart to say it out loud well the the Democratic Socialists can get away with it again serving as a justification for the Democratic Party to move to the left. 11:33before you jump in and say believe these shallow slogans of you two can get something for nothing government will provide for you government loves you government will take care of you no it won't it doesn't have the resources government is not God it's not the self-existing God who always has been always will be they want you to think that but they are I think bread I think it's one of the biggest Ponzi schemes ever maybe ever in the world I don't know in ages past but the you know they they want to swallow up the world's resources the world's income and give you a pittness to survive on while they live like kings and queens seems to me we've seen that before in history I'm thinking of the good old days of lords and serfs and the the communist parties how the elites at the top live how the nazi elites lived they didn't live like everybody else so we should that be in our consideration when we listen to their wild promises about utopia here on earth

12:39of course it should be I think that's exactly right that again it's been tried many times it always fails the leaders live very well as you said but the everyone else is going to suffer horrifically in in any types of these governments and even among the leadership they turn on each other and they're they can't trust each other they're always at each other's throats because at the end of the day it's just ruled by thugs it's ruled by putting a bunch of thugs in in charge and it's sorry Brad I'm sorry I immediately when you said that you know who came to mind was Stalin let's take a couple minutes before we go to break and we just have a couple minutes let's talk about what happened when he started killing everybody around him he was already killing tons of peasants but he came paranoid he became nuts and everybody who loved him and followed him and

13:39revered him a lot and ended up dead oh yes yeah so the the terror of Bolshevism started under Lenin the first ruler of the Soviet Union and when he died in January of 1924 about a year two years later Stalin had effective control Joseph Stalin had effective control of the Soviet Union and when Stalin did his utmost to destroy anybody who could challenge him in any way and that was including the old Bolsheviks the people who put him in power who brought the Soviet who created the Soviet Union he killed many of them by the tens of thousands at first and then by the millions he manufactured famines in Ukraine and Kazakhstan to begin with this was a man who was a natural result of a perverted system which was communism and Stalin's paranoia Stalin's

14:41behavior is is a well-known and well documented but he's the fruit of a poison tree and wherever you have that poison tree you're going to have the same fruit at the end of the day it may be Xi Jinping today in China the communist leader of China or others haven't forbidden the future but it will always happen the same way Kim I appreciate you filling in the details because I don't think in modern history books that are used in schools is that information there do you happen to know or do you want to learn the realities I would suspect not because again the communist have taken control of the ideas industry what I call the ideas industry that's K through 12 education colleges universities media our museums our think tanks so Kim as Orwell said if I control the present I control the past if I control the past I control the future so it's the same situation where

15:43if the ideas industry is captured by the communist what are they teaching they're teaching kids that hey communism is great it's never really been tried and you know don't look at Lenin or Stalin or Mao Zedong or Paul Pot the Khmer Rouge or any of these other groups keep a favorable mind keep an open mind with respect to communism and even support it so when you capture the ideas industry you have a tremendous advantage because you're making your rewriting our past 1776 is gone in its replacement is 1619 right they've remade the history of the country and its fabrication we should we should let people know it's just not true other historians have said the same thing this isn't that there is a record that's left behind by those who lived it which is pretty reliable source don't you think Brad no no question about it folks should read Alexander Solzhenitsyn's writings his Gulag Archipelago if you want to

21:10promoting immigration policies that will lead to the death of the united states so there are a lot of billionaires uh... kim who spend a lot of money right these guys actually put up money and bread uh how did they make all their money was it under a social system or a free enterprise system you won't be surprised to learn uh that they took advantage of our system uh to to make their billions many many billions uh and then are using that uh to undermine the us as a constitutional republic to destroy the us that's what they're they're doing and we should say that clearly that they're using their billions their money um to destroy the united states and uh that has to be identified they're they are they work hand in glove with the chinese communist party so came it's one five they're the chinese communist obviously uh who are a bunch of really bad folks who are working with communist and fellow travelers and sympathizers in the

22:12united states uh to undermine us and we have a lot of work to do we really have to put our shoulder to the wheel here uh and use the time that we have to stop what they're doing and to begin to reverse uh their gains and i don't underestimate how hard that's going to be because it really is going to be difficult but now is the time to have it and now is the time to have this discussion as president trump has called attention to this thankfully with many of his truth uh social posts and with his speeches uh really beginning in late may of this year 2026 president trump has called attention to the evils of communism and he stated that it has no place in the united states it does not along in the u.s it is not american it's anti-american and you can either be as he said an american patriot or a communist uh but you can't be both so we need to be sensitive to their tactics and just a point here uh came which may be of great interest to your audience

23:20if you were called july 3rd on july 3rd there were two key speeches made the first was made by president trump at mount russ war where he gave a great address embracing of course american identity and uh talking about the greatness of america what we owe the founding fathers and what the old previous generations of americans and what we owe our progeny what we owe our children and our grandchildren but earlier that day there was a second speech and that was given by zor on mandami who's now the mayor of new york city and mandami said that well independence day not paraphrasing but what he said was independence day is whatever you want it to be well that's a communist tactic to always reinvent your holidays uh independence day is not whatever you want it to be independence day is a recognition of our founding and the sacrifices risks uh the challenges the difficulties that our founding fathers went through

24:24and how subsequent generations carried the mantle they endured the uh uh the sacrifices that were necessary to make america the greatest country in the world so when mandami is saying uh you can remake american independence day no you can't do that and you need to call them out Kim you said you know why don't the media ask him questions well that's because the media buying a large support is agenda they want to destroy the united states you know they're really fundamentally as trump has said time and again right anti-american working against identity american identity and far which they benefit from brad they benefit from the system the most these institutions that hate it the most benefit the most from it yes yeah but that that irony is lost on them right they don't care uh they're moving towards their revolution no matter what

25:28and we need to recognize it they're driving hard for this and we have to stop them so it's very important for folks to recognize this Kim just let me add one other historical point recent history of course president trump state of the union address in february of 2026 if you recall in your audience may remember um president trump honored a us army warrant officer who flew his helicopter in venezuela and he was wounded but horrifically despite his injuries serious serious injuries he was able to carry out his mission successfully and land his helicopter and save the men uh in his crew of course and he was carrying he received the medal of honor congressional medal of honor which is the highest honor of course that a a serviceman can win uh trump invited the chamber to stay and to honor him and no one among the democrats stood all right nobody wanted to honor this man and when you reflect on that why don't the democrats stand

26:35well they don't stand because they're not interested in celebrating america they're interested in replacing america so they're not going to honor the heroes uh of uh of america so it's uh important to keep these events in mind uh as we'll have that's the direction we're going yeah brad thank you for answering that so thoroughly so in depth um you know you're this isn't just a rant an array folks this is all documented this is in his book america's 100 years war how to win against communism this should be must be must uh read material as you're talking brad i'm thinking to myself we're here because in large part i think i'm going to ask you to elaborate um we lost the educational institutions decades ago um why was the school of frankford even installed in this country talk to us a little bit more about that sure came you right we lost the educational system the ideas

27:40industry right so how american ideas are not only generated but their history about how they're replicated and sustained how do we teach america to american kids that's a critical issue and folks on the right just gave up they didn't care and they let communists penetrate that our educational institutions again uh they did it intentionally and deliberately the communists are very good at identifying what hinges your society in their strategy to unhinge it right they want to separate you from your past they want to isolate you so they understand the importance of education that always have so by doing what the Bolsheviks originally called boring from within by that they meant communists should enter institutions they should enter our government they should enter or education they should enter labor unions they should

28:42enter everything and they should secretly work to advance communist ideas and the frankford school picked up that idea and did it masterfully in recognizing as the Bolsheviks did that well you've got to focus on the church you've got to focus on the family you've got to focus on education you've got to focus on entertainment most folks go to a film as they go to the cinema they want to relax or they're watching television and they want to relax they don't understand that boring from within the communists are gradually shifting a perspective they're gradually moving for example considerations about American identity away from what we would want it to be toward something which denigrates uh American history the denigrates uh sacrifices and that um says

29:42fundamentally america's illegitimate america is wrong uh it's evil and it needs to be replaced so whether it's unions or the ideas industry or uh entertainment they've been boring from within for a long time and they've changed the way we think about American identity because children have been educated really by Vladimir Lenin not by founding fathers they've been educated by Lenin exactly that's why the 250th anniversary has been kind of ho-hung because there's a little appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous sacrifices we've talked about it all year about uh really you can compare great Britain to kind of an oppressive regime because they were abusing British subjects terribly by passing one act after another basically to rip them off to pay for their expensive war debt right and the communists do the same thing they they want all the money

30:46they're they're capitalist greedy capitalist on steroids uh capitalism in in uh christianity works quite well but what it doesn't have a guiding moral principle it's just raw naked greed much of what you're seeing coming out of um DC I think moral of the democrat party then the republican party based on their actions and what they say and what they do but um in your research bread when you when you see their tactics have you formed ideas or is it in the book on how you would teach people how to unmask them without being put on the defensive absolutely it is in the book and and came I'm happy to share with you the following first Americans have to get involved you have to be aware of what's happening and we are in a revolutionary time it's a 1776 moment yes it is are we gonna go one way or are we gonna go the other way are we gonna sustain America as a

31:49constitutional republic and if so you're gonna have to stop these guys or are you going to go into to to to to authoritarianism so what Americans need to do become aware of the enemy educate yourself about about communism you you can read the book there are other books there's a big literature on this that folks can read to understand what they do uh to attack your society and identity and once you have that knowledge you can listen to what folks are saying if somebody is saying hey I support the 1619 project well that's uh you know that's a warning sign there America's founded in 1776 no other date if folks are talking about the benefits of of uh of communism or of socialism well that's obviously a warning sign but folks have to get involved having educated yourself about the threat now become involved whether that's going to your parents teachers association pta meetings if it's learning covid uh chem just as an aside

32:55right covid was horrific but if there is a silver lining to covid it is that Americans learned what there was being taught when you had to educate the kids at home because they couldn't go to school of course because of the virus uh Americans learned what actually was being taught in American schools and so many were terrified what were shocked uh about what was uh being taught well that that was a moment we need to capitalize on this moment folks need to get involved in their educational system additionally what else can you do folks can become poll watchers election integrity is everything we are under attack with election integrity in the united states whether it's machines or mail-in ballots i'm sure your your audience is following this issue of course it's supremely important because um elections are everything uh in in this country so folks can become involved uh at a county level

33:58or as appropriate in serving as election monitors as election watchers folks can also get involved as they want in political parties right they can donate if you can donate that's fine if you can get involved by uh essentially uh helping the party um as it's needed or candidates specific candidates that you back that you support helping them out uh in their campaigns well those are things that everybody can do uh and all of that is going to be really important uh to uh uh fight back against this uh assault the one thing Kim they don't have yet is numbers they have the elites they have the ideas industry they have a lot if you will uh behind them but they don't yet have the american people the american people still uh can stop this which is why elections are so important if they are to return to power in january 2029 you know that the border will be open again

35:05and you know that it's going to be 60 million people who come in now can when that happens what's going to be the result they're going to have numbers right that's when they can essentially have what they've lacked for their revolution and that's a sufficient if you will what the military talks about in terms of mass you need to have a certain amount of you have to have numbers uh to be able to execute your strategy so folks we need to take this extremely seriously and get involved and participate as you can this is spot on folks this is an election integrity is right up there because like like the uh kuran says and coming to say the same outlook still say whatever you have to lie through your teeth to you know when you hear i heard a democrat socialist uh candidate uh say you know i believe in free enterprise working hard no you don't you don't believe in that you do not believe they don't believe that because people working for themselves and providing their

36:08income provides liberty to them they don't want you to they want you sucking at the teeth of the government so throw that out listen really listen to these people right down questions engage your neighbors those you work with those you go to school with those you go to church with ask good questions don't get into bashing and what finger wagging and all that just say well oh you know the logical outworking of that could be this or what you know just get this book for one thing and get more educated um we're gonna have to uh we never got to talk to Braddle Brad we're gonna have to learn a little bit more about in our next segment because we're going to start a time in our second one we'll talk a little bit more about the book for me this is um this program likes to not only talk but it likes to empower people on uh things to do and you've done that already and uh we we are we are not hapless victims one thing that really needs to to be dispelled is this idea that Trump and his team are going to do everything uh uh uh the kind of government we have

Brad there I think we should learn a little bit more about him so Brad would you can we start off the segment with you telling us about your background oh certainly but it came I just wanted to add one point you're exactly right that Trump can't do everything Trump has got broad shoulders no doubt about it and he's done so many great things but he can't do everything it requires the American people to step up and to step forward and shoulder the burden

39:16so absolutely my background I've been in academic and I've worked for the government and I've become involved in policy debates a lot of them certainly particularly on this threat the danger of communism which is something I've studied my entire life came I'm old enough to be a child of the cold war right I understood what the cold war was what communism was of course in the Soviet guys as well as outside of it and the sacrifices that we we undertook that we that we made to win the cold war to defeat the Soviet Union so and I appreciate that a lot of younger folks don't have that background they don't understand really the nature of this threat and how it operates so with my background I was really excellent foundation to write this book which is recognizing that we've been fighting communism for a hundred years but and while we defeated the Soviet Union

40:21and that was a big victory no doubt about it we didn't defeat the ideology and that ideology is alive and well in China in North Korea Cuba and in the United States itself so we still have a lot of work to do to defeat this ideology we haven't won in the way we defeated Naziism or Italian fascism or Japanese militarism for example during World War II the big war against communism needs to be fought now because if not heaven forbid they're on the cusp of victory and you know Brad we talk a lot about this don't abide the coolator and some people could say you know you're you're too much on that topic I don't think we are because now you tell me if I'm speaking hyperbole but I think if people like Omar and her ill were to ever become president or

41:24control the Senate and the Congress at the same time I think they would shut people like this down stations like this down I think that they would shut shut down any opposition and I sometimes have the sense that people on the right believe that without really believing it doesn't motivate them to action you know it's one thing to talk and we talk but to be involved in the process and it starts with some things a lot of times as basic as writing a letter you read this book you wrote you wrote your book what would you write to your local legislator who has communist investments in a college in your district what would you say well it would be very important to explain American identity and that you're an American and you're striving to preserve what our founding fathers gave us and that is a belief that in the recognition that we are individuals we we don't

42:31belong to groups we're not wider black or we're not men and women or we're not capitalist and worker we're individuals and we are individuals who are given rights by God and those rights can't be taken away by states they can't be taken away by anyone and from that foundation we have a political system that should favor liberty and freedom it should favor the rule of law it should favor the free market that has been our system for almost all of our 250 years if you're advancing policies which fundamentally are at odds with Americanism with those beliefs then there's a problem then you know you're advancing policies that are harmful to American identity and a Western civilization because Kim it's also the case that we're a part of Western

48:45um their fellow individuals it promises them that well communism is going to come through and provide for everybody everybody's going to get um they'll be fed and they'll work and they'll have health care so uh for those who are interested if you will as many people are at every age but especially among the young if they're interested in that then that's uh another element of their appeal um also there's that aspect of um danger associated with it or the threat of violence which always is present with communists uh deliberately they see Antifa operating and many folks may be attracted to that thinking well the system is rotten we've been told in our educational system that the system is rotten America is a rotten place so let's join up and be part of if you will the hammer that destroys uh America so i think those are it's quite a mix of motivations uh uh of appeal
