I don't know if you guys saw Michigan coming into their game against Western Michigan. Heavy favorites.

2:11It wasn't a very good game for the Wolverines. Big blue did not look very strong, but at the end of the game they still found themselves in a situation where they could win it. It would require a shot to the end zone. Now the first attempt didn't go very well. The second attempt did go quite well. You heard the intro in the beginning of our show today. The problem with it is, I feel like Common Sense tells you there should not have been a second play. The ball was thrown through the back of the end zone. When the game clock goes to triple zeros, it hits Western Michigan Broncos hand. To me, you know, we just have to, at that point, kind of say, okay, game's over. Michigan, you lost. It was a big 10 crew. And now officially, Mac Commissioner, Dr. John Steinbrecker, releasing a statement saying they will actually be putting in an official appeal of this one. After further studying investigation is evident that the replay protocol was not properly followed into determining whether time remained on the game clock at the conclusion of Western Michigan First Michigan's football game. There's more.

3:11I won't bore you with the details, but they say the big 10 conference did not do this properly. So I just think it's worth talking about that. Sometimes maybe Common Sense has to prevail. They're probably going to have a good argument because they did review this. And there is probably a lot more things that go into that. And you and I will never really know, but zeros in the clock, nobody would have argued it. I don't need. There would have been any debate from a Michigan fan that this game should have continued. I just want to get your thoughts on it as well. Yeah. And just as a little bit more background for anyone who didn't see the game. So it as you're watching the game, Michigan attempts this Hail Mary and the clock hit zero before it attempts. Before it appears to touch any Western Michigan player or Michigan players hands. The replay officials say that it was the in stadium clock that was out of sync with the broadcast clock. That was the reason time was put back because that one had been ticked down to zero point four essentially. And they use that and they use that in the logic behind putting the second back on the clock. But you just made the point about the wrong protocol being used that the Mac came out with their statement they had.

4:12Mike Pereira, who's the Fox Sports Rules Analyst. This was a direct quote from him. Replay officials have been told that if there is a discrepancy, use the television footage. Do not use your footage in the command center. Use the footage that 10 million people are watching, not the one that three are watching. Don't use the footage that they can't see. They they being the big 10 replay booth or command officials didn't follow the protocol. So initially when this was pushed back on on Sunday morning, the Mac and the big 10 said John John Steinbrecker. He said he was like, we watch the footage. It was, you know, we understand what happened now at the and basically kind of conceded and said, okay, you know, we we've had it explained to us. I guess that is what it is not knowing that that replay booth didn't follow the correct protocol. So that's what this boils down to and to take it a step further, I hope the NCAA overturns this. I hope college, the college football playoff committee and AP voters take this into account when they're making their weekly list. I hope that the NCAA looks into this because there is no way this wouldn't have had this would have happened had the rules been reversed.

5:12Like if Western Michigan was the one trying that Hail Mary instead of Michigan and Michigan bats it down, there's no way they got a second back, a second back on the clock. It was just it was a big 10 official group on a big 10 network doing what was in the best interest of the big 10 and of the Michigan Wolverines. Yeah, it's an interesting point about are they going to take it into consideration. Maybe, but I don't know if you can. Right. It like you could, but they determined that the game was legit. So if you disagree with it. Okay, but now you're kind of putting your own personal opinion on it as a voter. I don't know if I would necessarily agree that that's the right way to go about it. It's weak one. But like if they play that way again, they're not going to be in there anyway. So I have to see how it goes. It's it's definitely a play that when I want like I saw one clock and it looked like there was a second on it. Then I saw another one and there wasn't and like when we're getting down to a second, it literally like every second counts.

6:16But if I'm not mistaken, I thought the rule said you're supposed to go by the clock on television. So I'd like to know why and I haven't seen it in deck. I know you follow college, close to me. I haven't seen an explanation as to why they went away from their protocols in this instance. Well, and well, actually, and really quickly the voters we just talked about that evidently they have listened because they did drop Michigan out of the top 25. But like I think that's what that's really kind of the question. Like we're all asking the why we're wondering why have you not used the television footage that you are told to use when following the protocol. Why did you use this in stadium footage that only three people apparently in the world can see? Like I think that's the why we're all waiting to get the answer to. And just to another point about the rankings quickly, like I do agree that personal opinion needs to be put aside. But like college sports are also very different from pro sports. And the fact that these rankings affect a lot. Like they affect which games are going on TV. They affect, you know, bowl games and revenue for the school. They can affect, you know, in part, recruitment.

7:23Like it's just it's something that I think needs to be that's what I understand where you're saying like we got to put personal bias aside. Like be a professional. I get all that. But there is also some very real to be said that these numbers and these these rankings that Western Michigan could have conceivably had. Had they won the game will no longer have will genuinely affect their program. So that would be my only kind of add on to that. Yeah, it was not a great look. I think that's fair. Do we any of us see them overturning it? No, no problem. No, like if they if they drop out of the pole, that's their way again. That's their way to do to to strike or protest without actually changing the results. Because really at the end of the day, like this is the result. Like well, it sucks for Western Michigan. This one, of course, it matters. But whether you're end the season 10 and 2 or 9 and 3. It has a little bit. But if they're already saying it's a loss, then whether or not it actually says it's a loss probably doesn't it?

8:23Well, like it's funny. Michigan Western Michigan. They return both starters on offensive defense all 11. They won the Mac last year. Like I wonder if it gets to a point where they are that G6 playoff consideration team. And it comes down to them or like, you know, a Boise state who's run the table and the committee looks back and says like we're going to look at this result. It'll be interesting to see. I don't know. We'll have to wait for the play out. What I wanted to bring to the table today. It is the eve of the NFL season. And I have some predictions. I wanted to throw it you guys and see what you think about it. So my MVP this season. I've gone with Joe burrow. I think in large part the MVP is a narrative driven award. I think he's going to have to put a big numbers for the Cincinnati Bengals to win when the game. I think he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. And I also think him playing a full season, playing into that narrative will bowed well for him. My DPOY I have Will Anderson. My offensive player of the year. I have Jameer Gibbs. Funny enough, I think he's going to do enough in an expanded offense with no David Montgomery. My coach of the year. He finally gets one Kyle Shanahan. My offensive rookie of the year. Gdarian price. Defensive rookie of the year Caleb Downs. And my Super Bowl. The LA Rams over the Buffalo Bills. 3431.

9:34Well, through a swap up a question. I think in five questions. Did when you were talking with us before. And I think I had burrow as my MVP. Because you had got golf as kind of that long. So we were talking about a group of down like a bed. So yes, that one I'm totally on board with. I think their defense is going to be better. They're going to win more football games this year. Assuming they can stay healthy. And with that offense like with Chase Brown was doing at the end of the year. Really emerging as a receiver of the backfield. I think that's going to help them quite a bit. Open some things up. You have offensive player of the year being Jameer Gibbs. Yeah. Him be John. I mean, how's the offensive player of the year not the MVP? I know they really do do that one. Yeah. Kind of. It's a little bit of a weird one. I guess it's like the art Ross isn't always MVP. But these feel even more connected. It almost feels like it's the MVP's a quarterback word. Now let's just be honest. So they want to give someone who has a really big impact. The award H.H. and Jack. So hey, how about the year Jubri is one offensive player of the years a quarterback and didn't win MVP. That's even crazier.

10:39It wasn't that valuable. It's slant boy running all those roads wasn't it was that the year. Yeah, MVP. I've also, you know, a little bias. I think there's a guy in LA, not named Matthew Stafford that might have a good opportunity with this big. You know, higher at the offensive coordinator position and they'll need him to be because there is a very tough stretch in the schedule. Defensive player of the year. I'm going to go with Miles Garrett, like just pairing him up on that defense. I'm not saying he's going to go have north of 20 sacks. But I love that pick because deckline. I was earlier saying I don't think they drop off and, you know, defensive pass stretching duos for the Texans is that far off from the ramp. So I like Will Anderson to take a big step this year. Judarian price to me as a running back is great. He might not be as good as your mile love. But he's in such a good situation with the Seattle Seahawks or not sure it's going to happen with that sharpening. So I don't mind that one. I could also see maybe a receiver sneaking in there. We're probably not going to see a quarterback at it. But you know, could you see if he gets going car and out there if you just become wide receiver one for Tennessee and he and cam ward find that.

11:43I guess that's sick. I got him in my fan. So let's go get find that chemistry. Maybe he and car no they find it and they work out pretty well defensive. Who do you have for defensive rookie? I had Caleb downs, but with a caveat. I think he's going to have to play much more of the safety than he is half than the nickel. But a key method or is my second choice. You'll like that. Yeah, I do like that. When I like downs as a player, I want to say Rubin Bain though with the time of my bucket years, how he fell, you know, the slander with the alligator arms just a little bit more motivation for him. So I'll take Rubin Bains as my defensive rookie of the year though. But I like your picks. I think they all all very possible. I'll go with David Bailey for a rookie of the year only because I think they're going to be on the field. I was just going to say that as well. So I can always, you know what that's a matter for sure his team is going to stink for the jets, but I think I don't mind that. The the rookie of the year, offensive love.

12:47I'm going to go off the board a bit. Maybe it's not off the board, but because I actually think I don't think he's going to start game one. But Mendoza will end up being the rookie of the year because I think I think Kirk cousins is not going to last long as the As a starting quarterback for them. What do you got offensive player of the year? Yeah, there's lots of hype around Gibb and I think in almost every fantasy draft, people had him going going. Number one, but I'm going to go. How about this? I don't know if it's ever happened. It probably can't happen. Maybe it's happened. Let me know. But I'm going Joe Barrow MVP and Jermarche offensive player of the year just because it would be chaos of people to freak out, but I don't think it's going to happen. I just thought I thought I'd go with something off the board as far as who's going to win this year. Like everybody's going with the ramp. So I'm not going with the ramps.

13:50I, the big time favorite odds will tell us it does not bode well for them, whether it's an injury or whether it's something else. So I'm going to go with with a very surprised pick. And I'll admit that I'm picking with my heart because a few years ago, I thought they should have won. And then last year they stunk the joint. I'm going to go with a shocking Detroit Lions, representing the NFC. And in the AFC, I think it's Joe Barrow time. So I will go with Cincinnati Bengals to win. They will beat the Lions in the Super Bowl. Joe Barrow can finally have another highlight that isn't him just throwing that spinning pass and warm up. It could be a big year for him. Exactly. Exactly. So why not? So just players to an offensive player and MVP teammates. Has that happened twice? Same guys. What? Kurt Warner in 1999. And then Marshall Falk. Okay.

14:50So there you go. It's happened. So you're telling me there's a chance. But never with the guy the quarterbacks thrown the ball to. Yeah, never that receiver, which is crazy. Like you think like manning and I'm sorry. They never had the award. The one who was Joe and Jerry. Was it? Did they have the offensive player here and the MVP in the 80s for the 49ers? They did. Yes. Jerry Rice won offensive player in the 80s. Yeah. In 87. That's the only time he won offensive player of the year in the 80s. He also won it in 93. Okay. And Joe Montana. How many times he won the MVP? Three. I think right? So you got three young got to two. It looks like Montana got to young got to. But never the same year. The Jerry. No. Didn't need him apparently. Who? Who won? What about? So what about when? What about Randy Moss? Did he ever win off in 2007? I don't think he did. So Brady. I believe one both. Yeah. Yeah.

15:53Yeah. One Brady won both. But that was the year when he threw 50 and Randy had the record that. That should have been the year. I'm going to give it to him. What a joke. Brady love. It's just never. Yeah. How many other guys win both? LT wanted in 2006. He's MVP and offensive player of the year. Who? What do you need? Tomlinson? Not a big deal. LT. You know, I was just asking probably one of your fantasy league. I love that. Call and answer that question. LT two. Yeah. Lawrence Taylor respect. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. After that. I'm just scrolling. I have to go back and forth here. So. Brady did in 2010 as well. Manning in 13. It looks like. Manning in 13. Yeah. Cam Newton 2015. So LT is the only non quarterback to win both. Peterson in 2012. Yeah. Yeah. He did both in 2012. So. All right. It's been a while. Can you guess who won it in 2014? If you get this. I'll buy you a.

17:01What offensive player of the year? I'll buy you a big Turk if you get this one. No offensive player of the year in 2014. Yeah. God. I have no idea. Let me think 2014. So that was so it's not manning and it's not Brady. It's not breeze. To be fair, no one would ask me this question. No, it's very obscure. He is by far his best year. Great season though. Unbelievable. And is he a quarterback? Not a quarterback. Not a quarterback. No. So it's another scary like was he a one hit wonder? He had two other pretty solid years, but this year was by far his best. Okay. Had to be a running back. Yeah. Can you provide some astute analysis? I think I'm going to win the Premier League. 19:11Yeah, I don't running back obscure guy must have had like 18 or 19 on a Russian yards. 1800. Yeah. 1800. Only played seven years in the NFL. If that helps. I only got that because you guys gave me that hint of a short career. Because he like for a short window, he was pretty dominant. Yep. Right. When right from Dallas to Philly, Kim and Davis, those are the two running backs. I think of like, Terrell was unreal, but for a very short period of time. He was a injury issues, right? Yeah. Kind of forced his hand. I'll never forget that clip of the coach talking to him, Shanahan or whatever saying like, because he had a migraine in the Super Bowl. And he's like, well, if you don't go in, they're not going to believe we're running the football. So he was literally just a pawn. Couldn't see how to migraine, but go in there, take a bump. Why not?

20:12Well, that's classic. So yeah, because did he play? Did he just play for the Cowboys? No, no, he went after his rookie deal to Philly. Didn't go well there. And then he went to Tennessee had like one bounce back here and was promptly out of. He was in Tennessee. I'd you, man, you could have I could add a lot of guesses to pick his third team. I don't think I would ever guess Tennessee. Wow. There you go. I'm wondering for like for his window, he must have been like top five or six combined yards over that time as a rusher. Probably a probably. Yeah. 1845 and one year. It's pretty damn good. Todd Gurley. There's another one. I got a short lift. Sean Alexander. He rushed for 2000 yards one year. Didn't he win the award? Yeah, because he broke the touchdown record. Then it was priest homes than the Danian. Like they had three years in succession where they were just raising the bar. Yeah, because I had Alexander. I think he was my running back at my very first year of fantasy, which would be in like 2005.

21:16Go ahead of any good pick running behind Hutchinson and Walter Jones. The rest of my team stunk, but I just remember I had Sean Alexander for a few years. But then I had him again like the next two and he was brutal. So it didn't it didn't help me after that. Cause I think he went from like 2000 down to like 900 or something like that. It was a quick fall. Wasn't not. I believe so. Yeah. Not good. We got a lot of text coming in like we get like it's funny. Fantasy football at times now for those who play it. You remember certain guys more for their fantasy years. Sometimes than anything else. Right. I remember when I had this guy. He was great. So Ankwam Bolden. Never forget. We'll talk about how good he was his first game as a cardinal. I'd like 200 plus. Yeah, getting off the bus. I mean, my buddy's walking into ship talking about that. Yeah, way back in the day. When Yahoo, fantasy's force, it wouldn't update to like the next day. So you didn't officially know if you won or not. That's my kind of my first memory of it.

23:24Both times it's Toronto. It's playing all the split squad games. They have like two games on a Saturday and two games and X. And that is that's it. So yeah, I don't. I'm not a guy that drinks like eight coffee. I don't know how people do that. You sit with a coffee at your desk all day long. Like my work couldn't do it. But like I like one in the morning. So I was in fair. I don't it's funny. My buddy Greg also is not a coffee guy at all. And we were at his cottage on the weekend. And his wife, Jody also never had drank coffee before. And she says to me is on Sunday at like seven in the morning before we're getting ready to go play golf. She said, do you want a coffee? And she's making herself a coffee like Jody. I think you were coffeeers. She's like, yeah, I kind of got into it. And it was like, oh, this is great. So there's still hope for you. Yeah. Yeah. No chance, buddy. Not I just I can't do it. I don't I don't see how I can get into it at this stage for my life. So what's the first thing you have in the morning?

25:39Water. That's it. I only like I can't like apple juice is too acidic. First thing in the morning. You got brought orange juice is just too. I don't need to have a heart attack. First thing in the morning. So honestly, I just I'm very just straight water. I have a garage like if there's one thing now, I do like I'm very much into soda water. I like a parier. Oh, yeah. So that's if I if I class things up, but I don't really drink it first thing in the morning. I always just crush a glass of water. I'm pretty. I'm pretty easy in the morning. Water is good for me. Yeah, I like to have a growl glass of water in the morning. And then I'll have a coffee, but I love sparkling water as well. You know, bougie as I might be. So yeah, I'm with you on that too. So it's good. Good for you, man. You're very here. The model of health. When I was younger, man, I was I used to crush a glass of milk. God, I love them. When you're growing, you need milk. You look calcium in your bones. Like I see my son teenager. Now he has a little bit of it. And I'm always like, whoo. Right. The only other thing I ever have for breakfast. And it's like twice a year is chocolate milk. I freaking love chocolate. If I go out for dinner, I mean for breakfast at a restaurant. And it's got like there's there's a there's a few in town that I go to with my son like twice a year. We kind of have a father, dad breakfast.

26:47And I will have a chocolate milk then. I'm like, what are you a kid? I'm like, yep. Just the one thing I'll have every now and then it's fantastic. Like a hot chocolate every now and again. It's just I'm not generally in the position to have one. You have to commit to it. No, chocolate. No. But I used to have hot chocolate. I get the rank. I remember when I was a kid. Like, you have to go watch your older brother play or something. So you're going to your kid. You're like, Oh my god. I'll watch him for like two chefs. Now I'm running around. Yeah. But if the lidu drink, you could get a hot chocolate for like a quarter. And then you could get a mirage chocolate bar. And I used to dip my chocolate bar in the chocolate milk. And then just suck on it. It was unreal. God. So you're a quarter. You didn't even have to ask your parents. You feel like a big shooter to choosing your own money here. I had a paper road. I had my own cash. Where we go? I love it. Oh god. I mean, that's if I was ever have a hot chocolate arena again. I'd probably have to buy a mirage bar sick. I'm telling you you dip that bad boy in there. It's unreal. So good.

27:48Yeah. Hey, Fraser Mitten. He could afford a lot of a lot of new bars starting next year. Of course, he got his new contract doesn't kick until next season. The cap's going to go up even more. And it's just kind of like, but this guy's like a 17 goal 35 point player. And I looked at him in junior. He was he was a point of game player. Like basically like point of game, not like pointed a half like lots of high end offensive guys. Like, this seems a little bit of a reach for me for Boston. What do you make of it? It's a bit of a role of the dice. But as you pointed out, this doesn't kick until next year. The cap will go up even more until then. And so it'll turn out to be like, you know, five million dollar player. The way we're accustomed to thinking of contracts for five years ago. And for what Fraser Mitten is able to bring, I think it's going to be okay. Like he's never going to be, you know, a 70 point guy, like a 30 goal guy.

28:54But I think, you know, on the top end when it comes to offensive production, he's looking at like 20 goals, 55 points. And he talked to coaches. He talked to Sheldon Keif when he was here, when he was the coach in Toronto, when when Fraser was in the system. You know, in Boston, I talked to Marco Stern when they rolled through earlier this year and Fraser was playing really well. And it's a really reliable guy. Like he's a predictable guy. And like I had, I've had a lot of coaches compare him to Matt Stagen, who was a similar player in Toronto system when he came in. 22 years ago, it's crazy to say, but he was never like an elite offensive guy. But like from Pat Quinn, the palm or ice. And he was all had trust in him. And he could play against other teams. Upper level players. He was defensively sound. And that's the way coaches see Fraser Mitten is that they can use them against other teams taught competition and free their offensive players up.

30:06And so, you know, I mean, I think it's a good thing to do to do what they do. So there's value in that, right? And so, yeah, it's a little bit of a role of the dice you're thinking, I woke up this morning. It's like Fraser Mitten's getting 50 million bucks. I've never been in the case five years ago. But, but with where the cap is going now again, we get a readjust our mindsets. But if he can deliver that kind of play, that really reliable defensive play like elite level sort of checking forward, then it's probably going to be worth it because your first line center is going to be getting 20 and your second line center is going to be getting 12. What's your third line center again? Seven, right? No, it's no longer the days where top guys getting 10. Your second line guys getting seven. Your third line guys getting two. You got to readjust how you think. And I think that's the role they see Fraser in and they begin play like he played last year in Boston. Marco's term loved everything about him. I think it'll be okay. Yeah. Okay, we'll see where it goes. I'm interested by it to see kind of what happens with it. You know, bigger body and, you know, it's a big jump. But away we go.

31:19There are still quite a few names unsigned. And we are less basically a week away from training camp. Now Michael Bunting made five million bucks last year. Like I don't see him being a PTO, but I could see him being in a Jack Rosslibic type of situation where he has to sign kind of a, you know, short term deal on a bargain deal because he's going to want to go to it because a lot almost every team would take him at, you know, 1.5 or 2 million bucks. So, you know, we're going to give him a chance to do whatever the number is going to be 2.5, whatever it is. I think a lot of teams would be interested in that. Do you think he is and you expect him to sign before camp begins or does he wait and sign later like Rosslibic did right on the, I think Ross of existing on the first day of the regular season. Yeah, I think he's going to get an NHL job, you know, he had what 33 points collectively over 74 games between Nashville and Dallas. I think he's going to have to say that you're not bringing him in for offense, but he can play up the line up when he'd be spent a season on Austin Matthews wing.

32:27And he was very effective in Toronto a few years ago, but he does bring a variety of different elements to the game. He's kind of, you know, he's not Bradmarshan, but like call him Bradmarshan light light. Right. He has a little bit of ability. He can put it in the net when you put it on his stick, but he he drags into the fight. He's a past. He's he's feisty. He hits, you know, he'll he'll fight if need be. I think this guy will get a job because he's versatile in a lineup. Whether or not he signs, you know, in the next few days or right before the season starts, I don't know what's hard to say. But I think if if I'm a team that's looking for a guy that's versatile and you know what you're going to get out of them, you know, I think there's there's value there. There's probably some teams that would like to start camp with some younger guys that they have in their system and see where they're at.

33:27But you don't know what you're going to get out of those young guys. And if you know, you're not blown away in camp, which you rarely are by young players looking to play that role. You know, I think you look at it, bringing in a guy like Michael Bunting, who can deliver you consistent minutes and can play in a variety of different roles. I think he'll get signed. I don't think it'll be a lot of money. 5 million bucks too much. Quite honestly for what he brought last year, good for him for making it, but it was too much money. He should come in around a million or two on a one year deal. I would think. And if that's the case of he's interested, there should be a lot of teams that are competitive teams looking to bring him in. Because when he was here in Toronto, he played up the lineup. He was pretty effective. That was the first year Zach Hyman went to Edmonton music, the Zach Hyman replacement. He was pretty effective. You know, I credited the leaves at the time for not fooling themselves into overpaying form because he's not a long term big money guy.

34:31But in a limited role at the right salary on low term. Yeah, I've got a lot of use for that guy. And he's got a great attitude to I can tell you being around the room. Like, like, Osmanthus still hangs out with the guy. You know, so if you're in the respect of a guy like Austin, years down the road, there's still buddies. You know, you can you can certainly say that game recognizes game guys like playing with Michael Bunting, because he's got a really good attitude. He's willing to do whatever the team wants him to do without loaning about it. So I think he'll get signed to be honest for sure. You know, there's terracanco. There's Logan Stanley. I could see terracanco maybe in Florida with Bradley not being available right away. No. Yeah, they got a boatload of forwards, but yeah, that's an interesting one. A lot of guys seem to like to go there. And I think he was there before. Yeah, and they're not afraid of of having too many forwards at times, but yeah.

35:36Yeah, I wonder about him. Um, do you think like I find it times we get a little too. Over nervous about all during the season, a player hasn't signed his extension, even though he's not a free agent, tell June 30 or July 1st. Right. Where do you come out on that? Well, depends who it is. Like top guys like no one really cares about a third liner, no offense. I'm talking like the top guys. Okay, so Quinn Hughes. I don't like it. I think Minnesota needs to bring that to a conclusion before September to 14. Like before we speak next week and camp kind of opens up, I think you need to bring that to a conclusion. If Quinn Hughes, who already appears unsure, so whether or not he wants to resign in Minnesota, gets into the season, the longer that goes, it's not more likely that he's going to return. It's less like he's going to return. And then the problem becomes I expect Minnesota to be a good team.

38:44You'll probably get a good package back but you never know what you get back. That's a tough sell. That's a tough sell. I as a GM would not want to be in that position. So for top guys, yeah, I kind of want to have that dealt with the season prior. Either your name on the dotted line or I got a look to move along because cap space is an asset. But when you let guys like Queen Hughes or Mitch Mariner and Toronto a few years ago, John Tavares on long Island, quite honestly. You walk out the door for nothing. I want to get something back for the assets as good as they are. You have to have that dealt with a year in advance. And so that's why if a guy is a year away from unrestricted free agency, he comes to GM and says, look, you know what, I'm not sure about whether or not I want to return. And by saying I'm not sure, it means I probably don't.

39:47If I'm a fan of that team, I'm applauding that guy because he's now putting everybody in a good spot. If he's going to leave anyway, bring it up well in advance so that the GM can now move that guy to a spot that he's interested in going and they can get back a lot for for how good that player everybody wins that way. Socks the guy doesn't want to stay, but he's a year away from being able to make his own decisions straight facts. You got to live in reality. If he's going to walk out anyway, I'd rather bring it up well in advance. And so that we can get something back for him. So I guess if that's asking my opinion on Queen Hughes, he hasn't signed yet. I'm deeply concerned. I don't like it if I'm a Minnesota wild fan. You got to move on. You think Bill should trade him. Yes, if he can't get him signed by the start of camp, certainly the start of the season. Yes, really? Yes. What are you going to do? You play the season out, let him walk for nothing.

40:50I mean, that's a heck of a role to the Dyson. Maybe he keeps him. Maybe they win the cup and then he leaves. If they, if a team really wants some Dave, they're going to want him. They're going to have to pay him. Like Toronto, Toronto got unlucky in the sense that Vegas had petrangelo have a career in an injury. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to afford Mitch Mariner without giving up more money, right in the trade. Right. And that's true. That's a fact that that happened. Petrangelo went all on LTIR so they could take Mariner. And they were over the cap on LTIR. So if you're new Jersey and you're like, oh, we want to we want to bring in Quinn Hughes. Well, you got to get rid of some guys. Right. So that I still think you could make a trade later in the year if it comes down to that. If you're Minnesota, because if you're Minnesota. And he might not be sure now. But I'm like, I get that you want to play with your brother stuff. But I'm not I keep saying it. Like why would Luke Hughes want his brother to play with him. He's going to take all his ice time. That's the case that I made when the guy was in this really started to hit a fever pitch around the Olympics. You know, because they just signed Luke Hughes through a long term deal. I said, if I'm Luke Hughes, I don't want him coming because that's what happens to my power play time. It goes away. Guess what happens to my numbers. Didn't have a great year last year. I guess what's going to happen to his numbers. I'm not even going to go down even more. Now it's what the hell's wrong with Luke Hughes. I don't want my brother there. But I think the brothers are really close and they'd like to play with each other. That's my understanding from from people that I've talked to around that situation.

42:18And I do think that that situation is getting a point where now might be the only window. Now might be the only window because when when Jack becomes a free agent, guys making what eight now, tell you think he's going to sign for next time. He plays like he has not eight, 20, okay. And Quinn is going to want 20 and then and then Luke is coming up not long after that. And if he pops, how can you have three guys making 55 million bucks. So it might be now for three years. Well, Jack is under contract and Luke is under contract at a really manageable number. And then they might have to go away and stop playing with each other. So if they really want to do it, you might have to get to it now. But I'm with you. If I'm Luke and I'm like a personally focused guy. Quinn comes here and means my role goes down and I don't love that. And I do wonder if you have three brothers on the same team. How many of the other 18 guys on the roster?

43:27Absolutely love that. I wonder if there's some level of like, okay, are we the, the, the, the Hughes devils or are we the New Jersey Delta? Like, you know what I mean? Like is it all about them or are we all involved here? So I wonder about that. Because it could be a case where it just simply becomes all about them. And can you win like that? So I don't know. I just think they all have the potential to be really elite players. And if that's going to be the case when they hit free agency next time, they're all going to be making 15 20 plus. I think you can, you can operate like that. So it might be now. And I think Quinn might understand that. If they ever want to do it, might need to be now for the next one. So I'm going to be doing this for three years. Davey one quick one for you. How are you guys handling the change of the name like Ontario? So I'll tell you what, tell you what Jason. When I was up in my buddy Greg's cottage two weeks ago, we went swimming with his daughter, Autumn, who was four.

44:35And she was at the point in a bay called chicken Bay. Yeah. Okay. And I asked Autumn. I said, uh, do you find any chickens there, Autumn? She's like, no, no, we didn't. It should be called autumn Bay because we found Autumn's there. I'm like, it's great logic. It's fantastic logic for a four year old. Not presently United States. Uh, it's funny time we live in Dave. Funny time. I saw some funny signs about it. So they'll only be more than for sure. So there you go. That's that same guy today, lied on TV, telling how he was pulled from the rubble of 9.11. What an absolute discreet. I know we're on. We're on Prestor radio here. So I'm not going to use the words that I want to use because it's a family show, but begins with an F. This F and guy stop lying about that type of stuff. It's a joke. You should have better things to do with your time. If you're president of the United States, then this garbage. Yeah. Okay. Uh, like on a tragic day, you're lying like you were there. Give me a break. That's awful. That is pathetic. Uh, Davey. Have yourself a wonderful day. Jason question number one. What would you say was your biggest takeaway for the Elks and their win over the stamp uter's yesterday. Well, their biggest takeaway for me is their ability to not fold their tent or feel like, you know what the games over. And how they just they show up in the fourth court. They didn't play great in the first half. No question. But the games four quarters. And right now, the Elks are the best fourth quarter team in the league for sure. And that's really helped them. Yeah. And that's gone back for a long time. They've been really good coming up to the half, especially on defense. So not allowing a touchdown for a little bit.

47:11Long time. I probably say, you know, the slow start. I think that's something, you know, if you're trying to find something to correct the slow starts. It's just it hasn't been just this game. It's been kind of a trend here. So getting that cleaned up. But then again, the depth just, you know, Justin Rankin don't know what the reason was for sure. Whether it's just, you know, not being effective or injury, whatever it might have been. But Chandaric Palagot's out there and he's running the ball like a madman when the balls in his hands and secure. He's getting the job done. So we're just seeing it time after time whenever a player gets called. And you know, forced into the lineup. They make plays and that's been such an encouraging thing for me watching this team. So question number two now for you. We know after a by week, it can take some teams a little bit of time to get. Well, find their groove. Let's say that. Do you buy that excuse? And if so, how long into the game before that should be done in dealt with. That's a great question. Um, I really don't think it matters. Uh, cons. I think you answered it earlier. I think Fajardo's in his head a little bit when he plays in Calgary, which doesn't bode well because where's the great cup. Calgary in Calgary.

48:15I like you got to figure it out. Yes. We and because the grass, the turf. It's, it's a little slightly rounded right from the middle of the field down. And he struggles there. So I think it's more about that like you look at some of those throws they made earlier. Now the running game wasn't on. There's other factors. But when your quarterbacks not on point, because the slow start was an impact on their defense. It was really only their offense early on. Yeah. I mean, I buy into it a little bit, but I don't give you that much time. Like I think, you know, after a series or two, that rust has been knocked off the coach. The players. Everyone has to be ready to get back into the game. So I gave them a little bit of a leeway. Obviously, but I thought that should have found their game quicker than they did. Obviously, the end didn't matter because it didn't come back to hunt them too bad. Question number three, Aaron Donald not going to travel with the team to Australia as they get to take on the Niners. If you were in his shoes, would you make the trip? Foo. Good. Well, if you're not playing, I don't I don't see why does he even have the choice if you're not on the active roster, do you make the trip?

49:22Like did the 49ers have some guy who flew over there and then they cut him this week. Yeah. And now he's going back home. That's a top like, come on. 40 Niners. That's a terrible look. But if Aaron Donald is not playing, why would I why would I want to go for three days? Like, you're not playing. What's the point of going? Yeah, I'm with you. I mean, like, that's a long flight. You don't need to. I am. If any, I like. But to help the guys like, let's say that the Rams are playing in Philly. Do the guys that aren't playing, do they fly? I don't think so. I know like the orders. If you're not, if you're not playing, you don't go on the road trip, unless you got it, unless you haven't played and you got to practice to get up to speed, usually don't go. So, yeah, flight is definitely not a part of it, but I see no reason. If you're not playing, don't go. A lot of them do like, and it depends on your role with the team. But yeah, you'll see injured guys on the sideline all the time, right? For home game, sure, but road games, bro games to yeah. Yeah. But like this one, I think it's kind of a good exception to say, you know what? It's a long flight. Stay home. Get ready. Keep practicing. You know what he needs to do to get himself in the game shape. So I'm sure it'll be just fine.

50:25Question number four, we talked about the MVP and all that sort of things in the round table. So my question for you, when you look at every division, who do you think is the easiest lock to win their division? And which division would you say you have no idea could go in a bunch of different ways? Go ahead. Could go a bunch of different ways. While I mean, the NFC South is the one for me. The Carolina Panthers, Bucks, Falcon, Saints, like you could give me a reason and also, okay, that's you, I think, could find a way to get the job done. For the rest of them, like I think there's so much competition here. I'm going to say the Buffalo Bills because that often the jets are no problem. I think the Patriots will take a step back. And even last year is just a two game differential. So I'm going to go with the bills to win the East is my safest pick. Good question. Honorable mentioned to the Broncos as well. Um, yeah, trying to like the NFC West has three really good teams. So no, the South.

51:28And the Panthers are the Bucks, but I might, um, Yeah, they have seen North, I think it's two teams. You know what, cons? I'm going to go with the most unpredictable division, I think, is the NFC North bears, lines, Packers and Vikings that, you know, Packers, Lions, bears, even the Vikings.
