All but one of the Republican congressional delegates for Alabama has something to say in remembrance of Charlie Kirk this past Thursday. Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA and one year ago on September 10th, Charlie Kirk was assassinated while conducting a TP USA event on the campus of Utah Valley University. US Senator Katie Britt posted on social media that Kirk's commitment to America will not be forgotten is legacy being that of faith, courage and passion for engaging the next generation. US Senator Tommy Tuberville called Kirk an innocent father, husband, and Christian patriot who was murdered. US Congressman Barry Morrison that Kirk was a powerful conservative leader who inspired millions to seek Christ and to have a deeper love of country. Congressman Dale Strong, Robert Adderholt and Gary Palmer also echoed similar sentiments regarding Kirk's life and legacy.

1:07Democrat Doug Jones is changing his stance on a particular issue as he runs for governor here in Alabama. Jones recently told his supporters that he is against allowing men to participate in women's sports in the name of transgenderism. His opponent in the governor's race Tommy Tuberville was quick to cry foul on this move coming from Jones. Tuberville said that Jones is pandering to his base in order to get votes when he has spent his entire career creating a record that caves to the left when it comes to transgender issues. Tuberville listed many of the far left pro transgender bills and resolutions that Jones signed on to when he was a US Senator for Alabama between 2018 and 2021. Tuberville said that some of that legislation would have forced schools to go along with the woke transgender ideology which would have included transgender athletes competing against biological women. Tuberville is suggesting that in light of Jones's record on pushing transgenderism he would have better success running for office in the state of California. The Montgomery Whitewater Park Management has announced another close down of operations for what they're calling off-season maintenance.

2:11The water park already had another month of closure that occurred this past June. This latest closure announcement comes just days after the Montgomery County commissioners determined that they will not be investing any more money into that park until they get answers on its current financial status and its future business plans. An audit of that water park will be released as coming October the water park first opened up in Montgomery area in 2023. A man arrested for money laundering and employing illegal aliens both in Alabama and Florida has now entered a guilty plea. Cesar Campos Reyes owned multiple Mexican restaurants that were part of federal raids that occurred last year. Campos Reyes was investigated for defrauding the Paycheck Protection Loan program of $855,000 that program was started during the COVID crisis. The US attorney who's involved in this case Thomas Govann says that the defendant knowingly defrauded this program which is designed to assist American businesses and made possible by US taxpayers. While the senior pastor at Pathway Church out of Mobile, Travis Johnson took part in the opening day of the 2026 midterm Republican National Convention that's being held in Dallas, Texas,

3:22Johnson was asked about what got him into politics in the first place and he says it came from delivering a prayer in Mobile that was considered controversial. In 2023, my mayor invites me to pray the invocation at our city hall in my prayer, not was June, in my prayer I said after I pray for the leaders and Lord especially put a head of protection around our children who have been targeted by harmful ideologies in our parks, schools, libraries and online. And so Freedom from Religion Foundation, there are a bunch of ambulance chases, they come out for us, try to shut down prayer and then we had some newspapers saying that I should apologize. So I went to my church told them I'd be making a statement on Sunday, I stood up, said they want to statement, they want me to apologize, she's my statement, I am not sorry, I do not apologize, we don't bow, we stand, the church went up in smoke, we baptized more people, that June 23 than any other month we were giving went up and you know what I found out, you actually have to preach the gospel for people to be saved. If you don't preach about sin, you're being saved from so we got involved and then you know it just moved us forward inside just gotten to the point where I really don't care, I've had some people say aren't you afraid people are going to leave when you're talking about those cultural issues one, they're not cultural issues, they're moral biblical issues.

4:38Number two, I preach like that because I want people to be saved and if they do leave, they don't get saved, it's good because I don't want them to lead my small groups. There you go, it's true. But it went into more pastors like this, it's not that you got more political, it's that the government started getting more theological. 100% and you just said no, not in my watch government, you put in that. That's right, abortion sanctity of life, biblical marriages are not political issues, these are biblical theological moral issues. In national news, the US Department of Justice and the Trump administration continue to sue dozens of states that have policies in place that allow for special college tuition to be offered to illegal aliens here in the US. So far the DOJ has won six of those cases and lost only one, the legal victories, forcing the states to stop the programs, have occurred in Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Nebraska in Illinois. The DOJ is appealing the case that they lost in Minnesota to the eighth circuit court of appeals. They will also continue forward with lawsuits against 21 other states that continue with these policies in place.

5:43The DOJ announced just a month ago that they would be suing the states for offering non-citizens the same state-funded deals on college tuition that should be offered to American citizens only. President Trump wants to give more money back to American citizens and announced on Thursday that if Republicans win the midterm elections, he will seek to put $5,000 back into the hands of legal US citizens regardless of their political party. CBS News caught up with Trump after his announcement was made while Trump was in Dallas, Texas to take part in the new midterm Republican national convention. Last night you proposed Trump dividends giving every American $5,000 American citizen if they have adult citizens $5,000 and I'm wondering what Congress need to approve that. Well, we think not. I think they will do it if we needed it, but we think not. The country is doing so well. We've taken in trillions of dollars in tariffs and other things.

6:43We have now over $20 trillion worth of manufacturing plants and other investments being made in the United States, which is far greater than ever before. And we think it's something that would be good. We do have a one-proviso and that's that the money be spent. People spend their money in the United States. We don't want to have that money spent in other countries. And we think it's something that's really good, popular and it's a great infusion. The President and the Vice President both spoke on the first night of this newly created event. Vice President JD Vance got the crowd going when a protestor shouted out some things and then waved a flag from Mexico. What the people at home missed is that we just had a protestor interrupting us and waving the Mexican flag. Well, well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your ass over there. I'll buy you the plane ticket.

7:43Speaking of Mexico agents with the Department of Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Agency discovered 2000 pounds of meth being shipped from Mexico into the Texas Rio Grande Valley. This meth was very cleverly disguised but still discovered the meth was wrapped in green plastic and formed into balls that were then covered with multiple leaves of cabbage. This was all then put into produce shipping boxes that appeared to be a bunch of fresh pick cabbage headed into Texas. DHS posted a video of their agents unwrapping the fake produce only to reveal this major drug bust. Today the nation remembers the actions that were taken on 9-11, 2001 with an attack on the World Trade Center in New York City that claimed the lives of almost 3000 Americans. One of the common refrains coming from that event in New York City is never forget to never forget what evil is capable of doing as well as never forget the brave actions taken by Americans responding to this violence that was being perpetrated against their fellow Americans as important as it is to remember it's equally important to look forward and assess the emerging threats and dangers against humanity here in 2026 because nothing has ever stopped or slowed down in that regard.

8:55In fact, Politico is now reporting on the Anthropic Artificial Intelligence platform and a recent report they put out. Anthropic says that foreign-based adversaries are already using their AI to create bio weapons, neural toxins, highly contagious avian influenza, killer drone swarms along with mass surveillance. The report from Anthropic references the countries of China, Russia and terrorists living in Yemen who have deceptively gained access to Anthropics AI assistant known as Claude in order to use the AI tools for weapon design and other criminal activities. Anthropic says that Claude is normally restricted from being used in these certain adversarial countries but the criminals being criminals found workarounds and hacking attempts proved successful. Anthropic publish this report so that governments and society can get a clearer view of how emerging threats are taking shape. When it comes to AI, this report comes the very same week that an anthropic researcher and programmer resigned from his job and then posted the reasons why on the ex platform.

9:57That researcher Jacob Coxen said that AI safety staffers that he talked to are convinced that there is a 10% chance that AI will seek to kill all humans in the next decade. Well, I know that's not a very cheery note to go into the weekend on sometimes the timing of facts on the ground just don't lend themselves to the best outros for the daily detail.
