0:00Now if the sound of a hammer hitting hot steel appeals to you, then steel banger's 2026 could be right up your street. The two-day event takes place this weekend in the Ennis Market building, bringing blacksmiths and traditional crafts people together for demos, challenges, competitions, and plenty of crack and to tell us more as the blacksmith and steel banger's organizer, Guy Urban, who's on the line, Guy, a very good morning to you. Good morning, hello you. I am very well, thank you for joining us. The Bangers is being built as two days of sparks, skill and serious crack. Can you talk to us a bit about how this event has grown and what people can expect from this year's event? I think you are teaching, as you know, is my 7 years to organize it, is getting better, because it's not only a blacksmith festival, it's a craft festival. I've been invited a lot of craft people and they answer the response to our fabulous, who would have twice money, all the craft people this year, that there was a year. We have a wood turner, we have basket we have painters, we have, I mean, the least is fantastic.

1:07It's getting bigger and bigger every year. Is the county council, I've been fantastic to well. You know, particularly something else, any need events like that. You know, we need, we have so many qualified experts who are so many, so many artists that are fabulous and it would be nice. I used to come from the inner school team and every, every July, the organized, a full festival is absolutely packed. And then you organize the school barifier, which is a mix of music, craft, or anything was a success. Why can't any channel do that? I would love to organize something like that. I was speaking to other people, or the restaurant or what, there'll be delighted. And I think I would love to organize something, maybe to have a meeting with all other people,

2:12who would like to sign to happen with the county council, with the mayor, with the, if I need to be less of an interesting thing, doing something, I'll be very happy to talk with them those two days when I'll be in the festival. Particularly having a festival like this guy, where it's, I guess, you know, it's exciting. Yeah, but I'm thinking particularly younger people would love to see the hammering and the sparks and the hot flames and everything. So visually it's fantastic. But it's highlighting, you know, age old skills, blacksmithing and also craft people too. Absolutely, absolutely. You know, it's a, and for, for festivals to be a success, there is a golden wood. When the pizza happy, man is happy. When man is happy, that is happy. When that is happy, the grandad, grandma, the uncle, are happy. And that is one of the votes we have to, we are going to have some fest painting. We're going to have for the kids.

3:12It will be seen for every age and a lot of painters and, you know, we are the opportunity to do a lot better than that because I like and a lot of people are with me and they need attraction. We have, we have a fantastic little town with money, money, advantage, let's use them. And it's sometimes rough to break a little bit of the rules. Let's break the rules. Okay, so that is the steel banger's event happening in the NS market building this weekend. Do people need tickets for it, Guy? No, no, everything is free.
