0:00Hello and welcome to Clara Femme's sideline view, it's Derek Lynch with you this evening. Coming up on the show we'll be hearing from some of those who were involved in this weekend's Amjène Irish Open at Trump International Golfing Hotel in Don Beg. More of that to come on the show a little bit later on. We'll also be looking ahead to what is a huge end of action in the TUS Senior Harding Championship, all four quarterfinals and two relegation semi-finals down for decision will get stuck into those very sharply indeed. And the new clear Premier Division and first and second and third division soccer seasons get underway this weekend. Jim Madden will join us to look ahead to all of those. Now it is a big weekend for small balls in general and the holding quarterfinals will be taking center stage in Parkiesogue across Saturday and Sunday. Also two big relegation games to take place in Tullets. So we have Kevin Sheehan and Tommy Gillesfile with us to look ahead to it. Boys will start with the first quarter final. It's on Saturday at 3 o'clock. Scarif versus Clooney Quinn and Tommy DeWord from Scarif. You're a lot closer to it there.

1:01Now the most of the rest of us injuries a big concern. I think Patrick Grine, Chief Among Them from their perspective. I think Russ Akehin is doubtful as well and Liam Cratti. I think is on that doubtful list. That's a couple of big blows. I'll be having Mark Back fully fit. It is an obvious bonus. It is. Yeah. I suppose it's the time of the year where you know when you get to the business end of the championship, you'd be hoping for the clear clean bill of health but that doesn't always happen and that Patrick Grine would be a massive loss in Liam Cratti. You know, while they're both young players, they have a lot of play. Hold on. I think Patrick Grine missed the crushing game and I think Liam Cratti went off. So and as you said, Mount Rogers will be back fully fit but I suppose Derek, this is the weekend that I suppose at the start of the year, you know, everyone aim to be involved in. Now that will be four jobs and we will talk about that later on that probably wouldn't want to be involved in where they are but from the quarterfinals stages, you know, anything can happen. Clooney Quinn have gone about their business very, very,

2:06you know, quietly and efficiently. And I suppose Scarlett probably, I won't say got a wakeup call was losing the broadford probably was the surprise in itself and under the in fairness broadford word, a better team. But you know, the toning points in the season, it can turn on a small thing and I think, you know, the crushing game Scarlett, you know, I think Crushing had done Scarlett off a favor by beating broadford but then it came back into Scarlett's own hands with the fine difference and you know, something like that where you get a break, it goes in your favor, you know, your season can take off, it can game momentum or this is going to be very evenly matched on Saturday. Personally, I think that, you know, collectively, the six Clooney Quinn backs are probably the best in the business at this stage of the year for what I can see. But from Scarlett's point of view, I think, you know, they're probably a lot of transition from last year,

3:06you know, they've brought in a lot of newer younger players. It will come down to, you know, quarterfinals are there to be won. You would say that, you know, Crushing Quinn beat and finally this last year would have with that bit more experience. But I think Scarlett, as I said, once they got that second opportunity, I don't think they're going to let it go very easy. And Kevin, just in that overall point to pick up on something Tommy mentioned there at the start, like about, you know, getting to the quarter final is everybody's target. Like you talked to managers eight, ten weeks ago, whatever it was, everybody's saying get a quarter final. Like you've seen it as both a player and a manager too, when you get that reset button after a group stage, I suppose they've had an extra week this year as well, which maybe is a new dynamic for people to take in. It's a three-week break from group stage to this weekend. So is it just a mental thing to say we've overcome hurdle number one and now a new championship begins where it's on the line every day. Yeah, it's really used there. It's just that black one, I suppose. Look at black one, I suppose, is the league that you build and prepare and you put, you know, your team out and try and build

4:08depth and all that. But once it comes to group stage, that's it. It's a hook or croak. The only thing that matters is getting older to group. You know, management to look back when they've got older to group and I suppose they'll find cool to them or find, find a little bit more where, you know, what they're taking into where they can work on, where the weaknesses are and, you know, what they need to get prepared for and it's said those three weeks going into a quarter final. But definitely, black one is just get older to group. There's no medals for winning your group. And now let's really, at the end of it, is a very, very tough quarter final in the Clare Horde and championship. Look at it, as Tommy mentioned, there's four teams that would give anything to, to be there this weekend instead of where they're going. So look at this, as you said, it's just one of those things where, you know, you reset after that group, you've got three weeks and it's just all about how we prepare and where you land in that quarter final. And I think, you know, as much as teams will think then all exactly where they're at, there is a massive step up then when that ball is thrown

5:12in the quarter final. And, you know, it's the first, I suppose, real test in our coat, Horde, you know, some teams have seen a little bit of us in the way they're fighting group games went, but we should see, you know, a macro increase in the pressure that's began. Okay, I'm just done that Scarif, Cliony, Quinn, then like Tommy mentioned, those Cliony, Quinn defenders, they'll have their hands full still with you've patched a crotty and the two rogers, they're going to take a bit of minding. But is it at the other end of the field? Maybe are the Scarif backs, you know, against those Cliony, Quinn forwards when you take into the form of Peter Dogon, the form of Gerry O'Connor, like Adam Hasard, seven of fantastic season, Dan and Fox is creating problems and they've plenty of depth to come on as well. It does look like a front load of Cliony Quinn's side. Yeah, I think Derek, when you look back at the table, Cliony Quinn, especially when you factor in the draw or crack law to finish on, at plus 20, points differences is fairly remarkable, like that's heavy, heavy scorn. And as you said, they're a wilder unit and an awful lot of very, very good young players, Peter Dogon is still

6:19pulling out, you know, these I suppose, wonder scores and you know, dictating a lot of what's going on. I find with Cliony Quinn one of their most, you know, their dangerous assets is they're turning to half-hard line and you know, their earthquake and true midfield are just turning from there. They're absolutely lethal. If they get any sort of a roll down your middle or an overlaid down your middle, there's a fair chance you're picking the bottle at the back of the net. And you know, for Scarif, they really, really need to keep that area around. It was the D and out to the 45th remarkably tight because, you know, Cliony Quinn get a sniff any around there. They don't need to be asked twice. And as Tommy mentioned there, when you put together a very, very, very good set of backs and along with what's very dangerous forward, what you have is the team that's primed for having an assault at the championship. And Tommy, I'm from a

7:19Scarif point of view, though, like no one better than Donald Maloney to come up with a strategy to think of something in a way to close it down, but they are going to have to think of something, aren't they? They will, Derek. But I mean, you know, management, I suppose, can get, you know, completely, you know, focused on the opposition and forget about what they've done well. Scarif are well able to score, you know, they put up big scores even in defeat against broad for dinner, or they still put up a lot of scores. I think from Scarif, find the view defensively. I think that is where, you know, I would have concerns because as Kevin alluded to there, you know, the farmers that truly Quinn, you know, they have that ability, but what they do is well, they're movement and they're pace and they're, you know, they're intent on going for goals. And, you know, in fairness to Clowni Quinn, you know, they were beaten finalists last year. I don't think that they have too many new players. So, you know, they have

8:20the confidence in that 15, 16, 17 players from last year. They have a lot of good young guys, you know, as backup. And, you know, again, they're not relying solely on their intercounty players, John Cannelli, Peter Dogen, Ryan Taylor, Jack O'Neill. You know, I think that they fit into the team set up. They do what they need to do. Yeah, they show great leadership at different times, but, you know, they are a formidable team. And probably in a lot of people's minds, you know, still their car sisters upset the potential, you know, the top three in people's eyes around the county. I was kind of finding you, which would be all about, you know, as you said, you know, keeping the score down, keeping it at the back. But also, you know, utilizing Malcolm Paul Roger, Patrick Crossey, you know, and those players. And again, you know, you bring it down to the last, into the last part, or you're still in the game, you know, anything can happen. But I think

9:22it is there's due to joy experience. You know, I won't say a gradual hunger and desire than Scarif, but, you know, I think they want to build on last year's final appearance. I just think that Coney Quinn overall are just slightly better than Scarif going into the game, but we know at different stages, you know, a game's second of life with their own, but I think it's Coney Quinn for me, narrowly. Kevin, would you go along with that? Yeah, but they're very, very narrowly. I think this is one of the tight ones to call. And I just touched on something from, I suppose, in backing up the Scarif is they seem to horrible momentum. And when momentum is with them, they're very, very good team like that game against their ogre and think their ogre. Should all their experience to not quite get out of jail, but they need a big moment at the end from, from general Daniel to get them over the line. And, you know, the second half against Crosheen, where, you know, that game was, I suppose, still somewhere in the middle team pass,

10:24you know, they grabbed the momentum there and really drove for home. So, you know, if Coney Quinn can, I suppose, exert, you know, some farmer pressure, join Scarif's proper patches, then this game, you know, becomes an, I suppose, a razor blade, but I would slightly tip Coney Quinn for their balance, but feel this is a really difficult one to call. Three o'clock in Parkesogue, for that one, then the second of the double header on Saturday evening leds is Crattleau versus Oine Killamona and two very differing formlines, albeit similar status from an unbeaten perspective any of, for both of them. Crattleau's journey to this point has been just crazy, isn't it? It has, yeah, but it is also one of resilience and never say a dying. I think I reference this, you know, during the last two games, you know, I think the influence that Joe McGraw has on that team since he has returned to the management team, you know, just, it's so clear to see,

11:27they never give up, they work hard, everyone does their job, you know, there's a lot of experience Oine Killamona on the other hand, you know, went into the last game, you know, probably the form favors to win the championship against Clon Lara for the first 20 minutes, I toss, you know, they just got taken off their feet by Clon Lara, but maybe in years gone by, they would have, you know, folded instead, they rolled up their sleeves and they, you know, they dug out a performance that, you know, that maybe two or three years ago may not have happened. Crattleau on the other hand, I think, you know, we all know that they have, you know, superb haulers, great statement, and what I think they have a kind of a tactical know-how as well, you know, to take on the opposition and set up with the opposition and when they get a chance, you know, they take it. Probably, you know, if I in the Killamona, if there was a weakness in the Crackler lineup, I think it may be

12:28the full back lane, you know, if I in the Killamona, you know, play maybe Jess and the character, you know, they get the ball into the Gailers and those guys, you know, they may have that opportunity. Both I in the Killamona, probably the pressure is on I in the Killamona at this stage, you know, they're well set up in the back, Shen Woods, you know, James Hagerte, holding down the central positions and, you know, you have the Macartheis and you have David Fitzgerald, and to me, probably they're the men that makes I in the Killamona take is really Sean Renn, now where he will play will be crucial, but, you know, I in the Killamona, probably the favour is going in, but I'd be slow to write off Crackler because they just have that knowhow and experience, now I'm not sure what where they are, injury wise, you know, the Jewel, the Jewel man that probably is taking his toll will call Macartheir maybe back, he's missed the last month or five weeks and then Pudge went off the last day so a lot of them wait and see there, but you

13:32would say on form I in the Killamona, you know, the slight give them the slight edge. And Tommy, like I don't know how significant this is, but it might be worth mentioning the fact that the weekend just gone, Crackler had no game for the first time in quite a while, and now whether they've played a challenger, an internal game, whatever, but they know we'll call it official fixture. A couple of the I in the Kill, particularly Fred Hagerte was playing in a diamond second team and their playoff against Nevor and back in Corricleir, I don't know if there's one or two more, maybe tied up and that as well, I think Jerry Koot might have been there, but not sure how much he's featuring. Like is that a significant factor do you think, Crackler coming in with a little bit of a rest after a very hectic schedule? Yeah, I think it is, and again, you know, I mean anytime you get a break as a Jewel, I think it's how you utilize it and it's not gone mad by overtrend and I think it's just rest and recovering and coming, Dale wanted to come into the game, refreshed and really fresh and dope. And again, look at the

14:32have that experience there when you talk about the Ryan's, Connor and Deer, my job, Connor McGraw, and then you have the younger guys stepping up, share Neville, Ryan Kahn's, the Lohan's, they're probably would have been considered to be in transition, but one thing they always have is, they've always very good individual players and I think this year, you know, the really, really tight as a team, Sean, real, real resilience, you know, when they're up against it. And I think, you know, sometimes that can that can count for a lot, they know if they stand off and give a Ryan the Killin' Amon a time and space that, you know, they will be chasing the game. It'll be an interesting matchup, I think, with probably a potentially Deer with Ryan against Ed McCarty. Now, if that materializes and Deer with Ryan at least breaks even with Ed McCarty, you're then from a Ryan the Killin' Amon, a point of view, you know, who steps up is a Deer with

15:34his jowls, Sean Render, maybe one of the lesser known players because, you know, McCarty has been scoring heavily from freeze and play. So, you know, coming up against Deer with Ryan, he has taken on all, all commerce this year and last year, you know, has been the man-marker, but also, you know, he's influenced on that, that that that crack your team, both as a leader and as a player, you know, is immense and, you know, someone like him can be a game changer, you know, Deer with Ryan wins that battle with Ed McCarty and suddenly then is it flipped on its head, you know, then I in the Killin' Amon are looking around to see who's going to step up and that. So, from, I think, you know, I in the Killin' Amon will be well drilled, that, you know, this will not be an open free flowing game, you know, the likes of Fred Hagerty, the Gailers and those guys are really going to have to contribute and not stand back and leave it to the better known players of Fitzgerald, Ryan and McCarty up front and then defensively, you know, I think I in the Killin' Amon are very

16:41strong as the UNICE, you know, Shane Woods and Keith Weiss, you know, and I think the return probably this year of, you know, the, I can't take it, we say I'm the wingback, they're Kevin, Kevin Howard, you know, has really probably added solidity to that and then you have to like the James Hagerty, you know, we all know what a holder and promising holder is into that role. So, I think if this is a tight game, you know, it could come down to who wins that bet between McCarty and Ryan and then, you know, off that Brexit, even then it's anyone's game as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, we could be there a little bit longer, it's a five o'clock throw-in on Saturday and remember all these games winners on the day. So, we could have more drama as a player's out. Jens, we'll turn them to Sunday, we'll go back to the relegation games at the end of the quarter final chat, but on Sunday, the defending champions continue their defense of the title, erog, taking on Wolftones, you know, massive rim to come through in the manner that they did as well as the quarter final, albeit what a prize they got in taking on Kevin, a champion

17:42that have been kind of, I don't know, is this too strong or phrase, but have they been going under the radar a little bit in the way they've gone about getting to this point and that will suit Gerry Okan and the Lads down 30. I think there'll be the laces so they're going along. Nice and steady, you know, winning games for a decent score, without, you know, a show under full hand or have them to go out to the well too much. Tough enough group, you know, three good wins, general on the plan, well, it's all boards, welfare, erog at the moment, I think you know, this weekend, I think we could see a little bit more of erog slipping from the tortuous of the fourth into the fifth gear and I think they'll be absolutely delighted where they are. Tommy, the farm lines for the champions, what's your take on us? I think they've just been doing enough to get over games, they haven't set the world the lice, I think, er maybe against Scarif, I think maybe defensively, I think they may have been

18:44exposed a small bit, er a lot of movement and you're moving that central spine of Russell and Fisierre around, they just looked, Scarif, you know, I thought really asked questions of them and I think, you know, both have wolf tones that firepower to do this, you know, they're already down out in the channel and my sources around Shannon tell me they could be down, maybe two or three or four players through due to injury, so, you know, it's a, well it's a big game, I think, from a wolf tones point of view, you know, I think to the outsiders, you know, it's probably job done, you know, they would have gone into the game, gone into the championship hoping to get to a quarter final, now they've done that, they've secured their senior status, but I think this is going to be a major step up for wolf tones from what they've played all year. And as I've said, you know, the mid-shanner has been very instrumental when Shannon has played well, Shannon has played well

19:44and put it again, you know, a team that has the two law hens, you know, Rory Hayes, and I think, you know, still Aron Coney, I'm still, it's still a major threat up front, but just overall, I think defensively, if our org are solid, I think from midfield up, they will have the event to John wolf tones. And I think this would be one for our org, maybe by, you know, five, six, seven points, our victory. That is a two, 45 start in the park on Sunday, and in the final game of the weekend, and what a game it promises to be, and it's funny, Kevin, I was talking to Eugene Cullen after their victory and kind of saying that, you know, you've got the top spot now with the win or with the draw against Lallar, like how much of a difference does that make? He said, the way this draw works out, it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. Now little did he know that it would be his neighbors in Kilmele that would draw the draw the draw in a lot of ways by meeting a second place, Lallar team from their group, like you said before, Scarif and Climony Quinn, difficult to call this one to court T. J. Ryan's famous phrase about the deaf dog,

20:47impossible to call. Yeah, impossible to call. I suppose Lucas, where you have groups of dead tests that often pop their heads up in our championship, unfortunately, only one team can top the group and a group winner elsewhere then is getting a modern fighter of a battle, and this is where it lines up now. Climony, a great old championship, you know, very impressive, tough old group, you know, that last game in particular, I know this team still needed points, but you know, a lot of the work was done going into the match, and you know, it could win in 24 points against six mile bridge, playing well, Derekine, you know, at least absolute best, both firing right in no two, absolutely battle hard and Climony, who would said Kim Older at group of dead, you know, the one, why suppose one win and two draws, I don't even think that that's something you can

21:48use against him in the group, that's the way it played out, they have a nice ass backline, their full backline or Harry got us, you know, the last day they really opened up QZ Park and got a great ball up top, like, you know, some of the scores from England, we're over to the top draw, so this is an impossible one to call, it feels to me like the middle-east will be where I'm what it's kind of an old cliche, the middle-east would be awful, important, and can Climony pull out his backline out a little to create just a bit more space for that ball up top, and then for Climony how to do that, you know, make sure that if that ball is coming into the full backline, it isn't at the ease that it was, you know, against any Climona for that first ten minutes, because, you know, Climony got that scoreboard moving at a red and at, so yeah, this is the game,

22:48I think that that's the jump off the page. It feels like a massive game for Climony, I mean, that might sound obvious to say, when it's a quarter final, but like a win, I think, takes them to a new vista, because you know, they were desperate on look, you last year obviously, but to get over Climona of all teams in a quarter final, you have to feel then that they'd hit the semi-finals with probably the best runner form and the greatest amount of chess out. Yeah, look at what it's, it's hard to, you know, the eight quarter finalists probably, you know, of them all, you know, would you like to avoid Climona or you probably would, or, you know, for me, kill mainly point of view, I think, you know, if they're serious and they are serious, having serious intent on winning this championship, they have to find the way, you know, beating Climona. Now, from a Climona point of view, the first 15, 20 minutes was as good as Holland, I've seen Climona play in the last couple of years, but the question mark then comes against them, what happened and why can't, why couldn't they continue that? And I think, you know,

23:55to Ina Killamona's credits, you know, they think they reorganize. So, kill mainly will be four warrants and I agree with Kevin. And if you have a half backline or a midfield, you know, supplying the quality ball into Ian Galvan, Norback in Ireland will deal with it because he is roadless when he, when that ball is bouncing in front of him. Then you add the like Michael, Michael Collins, German stretch, uh, Mihala Lockland, John Cullen, into that mix and you have four or five credits. So, I mean, it'll be a big challenge for Kilmele, that could focus on Ian Galvan, but then someone else will pop up. And for me, Kilmele, you know, while they have been going well and playing well, I just wonder out physically strong enough for the likes of Climona where if it comes down to a battle of physicality and intensity, you know, will Kilmele be able to match probably what,

24:55what Kilmele, what Sean Lara will bring. But on the other hand, I think, you know, does it kind of a maturity about Kilmele, you know, I think there's no, you know, big hype about him. I think, you know, when you interview Darikine after he said this was, you know, there was two competitions in the one they had, you know, got out of their group as the force competition. And now this is, you know, the second competition from a Kilmele point of view, I think, you know, they have the likes of maybe, you know, Brian MacDemara to come into them. And I think he will be crucial, you know, he will have three more weeks of holding done. I believe he just had returned, you know, before that game. And again, I think the panel, I think the impact of the bench, the last step from Kilmele, you know, was a big, big return with Brian Mac and Colin Colleen. And I think Joe Calmary, you know, getting on the board. So, you know, look, it just come down to it. I think

25:55Kilmele, we will want to keep it very, keep it wide. It may accuse the power very big. You know, keep the ball open, you know, bring in the inside forward like Mike Yoneel and Sean Arroctlin into the game. Tullara on the other hand, I think, you know, will probably want to close down that middle is. And I think a big plus for, for Tullara, maybe, you know, the return of Colin Marra, he's missed the championship today. And we know how influential he can be around that middle toward both as a ball winner. And a guy that loves to attack down the center, you know, which teams, sometimes, you know, are vulnerable to if someone runs at them, but an intriguing game ahead. And the forms that Kilmele, my own head thinks that can allow on my edges. Kevin, are you going along with that? No, I just, I just slightly tip the men and blue. I just think that this can merely team is, isn't, I suppose, in the evolution of a team from beginning to end, I think it's, it's right

26:57and it's prime. And I would just slightly tip Kilmele, but, but again, like it's just an opinion and are you really think this is, this is rare, is a rare surprise. Yeah, cracking game around out the weekend in terms of the quarter finals. That's a four, 45 start on Sunday afternoon. It word leds on the relegation games because I suppose, ultimately, maybe for the clubs involved, there's an awful lot more writing on these ones. Kroshin and O'Cattahine's Mills, Tommy and Tullara at one o'clock on Saturday. A difficult one to read form into a clear cup champions that are really, really struggling for form and a Kroshin team that must be absolutely reeling after that game against Scarif. Yeah, and again, look as we spoke about, you know, the three week break, maybe sorting the quarter finalists, but this must have been a really, really tough three weeks for any of those four teams that are, you know, that are in the relegation. First of all, I think, you know, need to come to terms with where they're at. And more importantly, I think focus on,

28:01you know, the real hunger and desire of wanting to stay up because the stakes are very high here. You're probably Kroshin who have, you know, we spoke about, you were missing a lot of players throughout the year, championship game, champion eating, brought for it, albeit that that's when it goes. And then, you know, probably brought it within three points of Scarif, but then fell away, you know, badly in the end. The Mills probably would have mixed, you know, the good with the average, they had a good second half against Crackler, should have saw with that game. First game, I think, you know, the fake will just, you know, took them off their face. And then, you know, the last game, it was, you know, it was, it was hard to get themselves going, you know, they were very, very, at the start of the year, there were all guns blazing, but the question was, you know, could they keep up that? And probably from a championship point of view, there haven't been able, but probably in a better position than Kroshin, I think, now look,

29:05it's, we spoke about quarterfinals, let's have a final second and a life of their own. These two matches could be the matches of the weekend as regards, for us, the intensity and a real desire to win. I would just maybe favor or Callahan's Mills on the strength of maybe the scoring power in the inside line. I think Kroshin will be delighted to have Ross Hayers back in the game, the last, both, I just think, you know, the Mills, I can say, I have more hunger and desire, but I just have more potential, you know, to win this game and, you know, retain those things. Kevin Sundead in two teams going to 12-45 and in a lot of ways maybe are going there with reasons to be confident in their own farm likes. And Joseph Durabairfield in fairness to them in a very, very tough group put up some very, very good performances even in, you know, that defeat about a year, the last day out to score what this score was incredible.

30:05And obviously, Numerkert got the better of Ultons, but just lost out narrowly on that scoring difference. So it's, you know, as I say, two teams that will come in saying we haven't been gone too badly at all. Yeah, I suppose if you, if you delve into, to Barefield, you know, did a crack in contest with Clara, first night oaks and, you know, very narrowly fell up short. I think Danny can Lomon again then just, just got away from them a little bit. Quickly, I think Lomon just seemed to get the scores in the board early and put enough of a buff for there that they could be comfortable. And then as you said, like, at the end of this place to be playing a, a ballet team that needed scores and needed, you know, a big score turnaround if it was going to go there away. And yeah, while, while they conceded a big score for sure, like 516 is incredible score. And you, you'd say that's kind of in two to three games, they were fine and competitive. And then you flip it over to Numerkert. Look, it's, often hard look when, when you, when score difference doesn't separate three teams and you're going

31:09into scores for your, you're into 35 margins for separate, no championship teams. So, you know, they've had a good solid year too. So it's, it is a difficult, difficult one to call. I just feel, you know, in some ways, I know Numerkert, I mean, down here on and off. I think this is barefoot's four-tier and a roll hidden down to this stage. So I would slightly fancy Numerkert and Fergus with the, I suppose, with the caution that, you know, barefoot no exactly where they are. And I have got out of this time and time again. 32:11Open in Dumbag action continuing right across the weekend. But one of the busy days here was the Pro Am day on Wednesday. It saw a number of stars of sports stage and screen taken to the course here in Dumbag for what was a very, very enjoyable event. Across the day, I managed to catch up with a few of them that were around. Let's hear from them now. You never know who you'll come across here in Dumbag. I lost no surprise to meet Mark McInerney here at the same time. Mark, you've been out this morning. I think you're in Pari Carrington's group. What was that experience like here on Pro Amday? I was great. Yeah, there's a serious buzz around the place. Like, for watching the CD Pro's play is very, very cool. See what kind of lines they're taking. How they hit the ball, like on a surf saw. It's very impressive. But yeah, it's a great pose around here. It's great to have the Irish Open here in Dumbag. And I love the relaxed kind of a day. Inspectorate was out along the course as well. So great to be inside the ropes on Alder. Yeah, yeah, it's very cool. Yeah, you're used to watching this kind of thing on the TV and yeah, as you said, it's very relaxed.

33:11Just let Paul reconcline in all the autographs. Just kids everywhere. It's a really nice atmosphere. So yeah, it's cool. Did you get to sign a cup of autographs for self-sale? Said the relays that they were looking at it to Caddy? No, no, no, no. I wasn't the main attraction here now. No, over. Yeah. A few friends and family around, but yeah, it's great to be here. Is this Caddy in something that you're at long? How well do you know this course? I think maybe four or five years. It's kind of a summer thing when college was finished. So it's a nice, handy job. It's a great job to have and get to be at such a great golf course and getting to play for free is nice as well. So look, it's it's a better than Barrow work anyway. And a bit of wisdom from himself as well. He knows his players intimately. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe he doesn't really know what to about Caddy in now, but yeah, yeah, yeah. He tried to teach me the golf back in the day, but he's no good. Francis, I'll give you a right to reply and that one in my case for a minute. Just a quick word on the weather here. There's no real wind or rain or anything like that. A couple of heavy showers there, I think, as you went out with Harrington, but certainly the pros that say would love a

34:15course like this, although if the breeze starts blowing in from Doc Morbey, it could be a different spot. Yeah, I think there was maybe in the first few holes, there was a few showers, but after maybe if there's six, it was dry, you know, wind and hink podrick saying this place, if it says like this, they'll absolutely rip it off. Of course, we're all hoping for for no rain, but plenty of wind. So hopefully we get that over the weekend. What was his take overall on the course? Was there any particular stretch that he said, you know, the could let's go find this difficult here? Yeah, he was saying there that there's some great holes. You know, the 15, especially he loved the new 50 done there is a great hole. Chad is plenty tough, while as well when the wind gets up to 17 to 18. I think even the 13th here at a tough time. So yeah, look, it's a very tough course and hopefully we get some wind to be for up to the weekend. After this, your focus will obviously be elsewhere on those football quarterfinals. Fantastic, fantastic weekend to look forward to, like all these four darbys and I repeat the count you final to pick them. Yeah, look, it's great

35:17to have to be back in this quarterfinals or at the end of the championship season, you know, it's a, this is where the games are one of the championships are one. So we're really looking forward to look directly after a strong test. They got true, or in last week and they'll definitely be up for the game next week and same the count you final, we know what to expect. They're going to give it everything, but yeah, we'll be prepared and hopefully we can get through it again. Pudge card in the Giants is here at the MGN, I was opening Tom Bigpudge, you just finished your round here, round the course, how do you find us? Yeah, it's special. It was really the course in unbelievable condition. I was out with Joe Cunning, out with Jenny Hennessy, Jennifer Hennessy, and out with the professional, the professional was Casey Jarvis and so on Africa. So it's just great to get out with those kind of people and get around the golf. So like some of the shots they were hitting and like I know Jenny thinks I'll fall, even Joe's off too, like so even watching them for me was enjoyable. So I was really enjoyable experience. So yeah, very lucky to get to do it. You got lucky with the weather, it hasn't broken and so did you. If you had these showers,

36:20I think put the windstay down for it. Yeah, rain early, I was telling my friend Tom, you're really there that I wasn't going to bring a rain jacket just to manifest, but it's a good weather, it was raining under second, I was questioning my decision, but thankfully I'm not going to go with me. So we were okay, but I know the weather was great and the wind wasn't too bad either, like when you're kind of amateur golfer and you're poor at golf, when the wind is hurting back here, it can be very difficult, so it wasn't too bad there. The average over there is a bit more ruthless. He wants to wind up for the weekend to test these lights, he says, because he reckons that could burn it up if it's too calm. Yeah, and you could definitely see that with a lot of questions, like I watch a few of them, you reckon if it's said like today, they'd put up some good scores, but yeah, like David, like the links golf suits David very well, he keeps the ball very low and he's used it back here, only surprise if he's playing like one of the questions out there. Is it going to suit a link's golf for this weekend this year, which I think? Yeah, like what I know of it anyway, it definitely would keep in the ball, blow the wind, and it's going to be wet conditions, so it's going to be difficult, like the batteries are going to really go out there, and yeah, it's a challenging course in the conditions, so it's

37:23going to be interesting to see what goes. I'm looking forward to watching it now after playing it. Yeah, a big couple of weekends ahead, the non-degrees game, scene esposs for Crattle, we won't go into too much detail on it, I know you're still nursing and coming back and all the rest, we put two big weeks coming back to back. Yeah, hopefully it's more, like obviously not in the relegation, but it could be, but yeah, it's in required finally against Iainek and Mona, like it's going to be a tough game, and I know in 2021's last year, a lot of these pairs are kind of commanding, they gave us a bit of beaten, and we always have tough games in my senior, they're very good so he's going to be out for favorite, so it's going to be challenging, but our lights like you've put up great fights, like trophy here, and we always kind of tend to put up a good fight, so hopefully we bring it on Saturday and see how we get on. I didn't default, it's an incredible statistic to say your last two championship games, the opposing goalkeeper has been better than that, that's a strange one. Yeah, I know what it is, like put in fairness to do make like I felt there were probably a war full value for their win, they're a good side, a lot of young energetic, good kickers, good scores, and yeah, very disappointing, but it's an extra championship, you're 12 teams and senior and clear, it makes it very competitive, and if you're not

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was lovely today, it was a petty really, there wasn't much wind around in the ring, so it was lovely play with Pudge, yeah, he's well handicapped, I'd put it that way, yeah, he's a lot better than he's 14 or whatever, he was given himself today, he did really well for us, so yeah, I think we're four or fiveth at the moment, so not too bad. How'd you find the chorus in general, had you played here much before? Yeah, I played here a good bit, yeah, it's lovely, I'm a member here, so this is my kind of local club, so yeah, it's in great condition and pros love it as well, that's the main thing for them this week. Will they love it when that breeze starts to blow harder over to Okinawa? Yeah, I don't know, I don't know, as I said, it's a really, let's say, easy day, conditions wise, weather wise, but it's still a hired hole, like the last 18th

39:27there is driver maybe four, three or four iron into a pair of four, so that's really difficult without wind, so yeah, it's going to be really difficult for them, and that new first hole, out by the coast, like what a fantastic picture is setting to head off on. Yeah, it's class, it's class, they've done incredible work here in the last number of months and it's in great condition. So you remember here, you know what, well, what kind of golfer is going to thrive here over the next couple of days? It's hard to know, like obviously conditions will play a huge part with it, Derek, so like you need to be thinking around the golf course, it's not just driving and chipping, so it's just going to be a lot of different shots, wind, rain, when it comes, yeah, you just need to be patient, I suppose, a lot of the time here. Could it suit someone like a Shane Laurie that's well used to these kind of conditions? I don't know, Shane spends a lot of time in America now and stuff, he lives there, so I don't think he likes it maybe as much as what people make out, he does either, nobody likes those conditions I think, but yeah, you'd be

40:31hopeful obviously Shane or some of the local lads will be up there near the top, come Sunday. I've got a fabulous legacy, this is going to leave for Dunbegg when people look back and it's like get on the global stage in a big way. Yeah, it's huge, it's huge, the last two weeks with Lehench last week at War Cup and doing beg this week with the Irish Open, it's massive and even just the players that are playing this week in the Irish Open, it's better than a lot of Irish Open's last number of years in players, boys, you know, you've some top quality players, so that your show is going to be hopefully really competitive the weekend. We'll turn the chat to Hulling and Vicengel because John Meilers' group have put out their recommendations, there's a couple of big talking points in it, two or more consecutive hand passes are banned, the 65 now goes back to the opposing 65, we'll have won V1 throw-ins and I think something that everybody has been talking about, the steps they're saying now you can take six steps with the ball in hand, all to be trialed, don't know what will be kept on us, what's your take on us? Yeah, there's a good few of them there, you're to be honest, I'm just have to go with hands, you're the first to tell me, you know, it's only had like two minutes to think about it,

41:35are you agree with outside the 45, I think to poke out outside the 45, hopefully we'll work the hand pass team, I'm not too sure about the step team, not too sure about two points for the sideline caught actually, that's been like, yeah, yeah, I don't mind that too much, I think there's less and less teams gone for a side like a point from a sideline caught now so that might actually increase again because it's you know, that kind of a score is a dying kind of a skill in the game at the moment, there's not players or teams that it's more keep possession and try and work and work maybe the percentage thing but yeah, I think that's a good thing as well to have, yeah, the steps team I'm not too sure about four to six, like we'll go from six to eight now and Lads can go a long distance with six steps so that's going to be difficult to manage I think from a referees perspective,

42:38I just sometimes when you look at rules you're hoping that it makes life easier for referees, I don't know if this does some of them, the two hand passes, you know, that's another thing that I have to watch out for now as well as, you know, what's a hand pass, what's a troll, so that's another rule added to it, so I don't know, we like Anton Derrick, you don't know until you try them, right, and you have to give Jews to all the guys that came up with it, they're trying something at least and see how we go, so you won't know until what is it days at next when you're the trial end in the... for a total of the leagues essentially, yeah. Okay, yeah, so like we'll know more by Christmas or January or February, like so we'll see how they go after that. They're having been at League Cup Action the last couple of weekends and plenty games against Tokentah, but just to give you're on through the final pairings have been decided. These won't be played until December, but in the Hugh Kelly Cup final it'll be bridging our first new market Celtic. The first division shield final that's new market B and Bernratti Crattlo, Shaddon Town B and Hermitage compete in the second division shield final. All the third division will be going to either Hermitage B or new market Celtic C. So not a bad start the season for the market with their A, B and C teams all reaching finals as we say it they're going to be in December. New season gets on the way this weekend so we welcome back Jim Madden to the show Jim. Great to have a structured season back I guess these League Cup games people have been trying out players trying to fill gaps that might

44:40have been left, but the real stuff starts this weekend. It does indeed. Now the Premier League has only eight teams in a this season as felt the Celtic and Fair Green were unable to feel teams, which is very disciplined and I have spoken to the managers of the teams and they're very disciplined because a lot of work goes into getting ready for the Premier, getting promoted and all of that and then not to find that they're not able to feel the team. Hopefully they will be able to be back next season and see what they can do. This weekend then we directly have the FAI Youth Cup kick-and-off with two Kerry teams visiting Claire in his town play Calamity Athletic and Bridgianite at our at home to Calargoon. Both games kick off on Saturday at 1 p.m. Also on Saturday there are two games in the Premier League, Tolo United play Avenue United, Tolo have a new manager Barry Murphy is now in charge and he takes over from the legendary Mike Baloney who has stepped down. Avenue have had real well still at the helm with the have lost

45:42still in Casey and now and Ronan Terram have also departed going to Salt Hill Devon. In his dance play newly promoted Shannon Hibbs board games there in the Premier kick-off at 5.30. There is one game then in the first division and then there is one game in the second and one game in the third division on Saturday also Derek and then on Sunday in the Premier League there are two games down for decision. Shannon Town play in the market that should be a cracking game. No market or Shannon Town have not a bit of reorganizing in the summer there and they are hoping that they can be forced to be reckoned with in the Premier League. The market Celtic for their part are always reliable and they will probably have recovered from beating in the Monster Champions Cup by Fairview in midweek but that should be a good game of well worth going to see and then Bridgianite are at home to Mohor Celtic in six mile bridge. Again the bridge have done a fair bit of work

46:46in the last one or two players but I gather the bulk of last season's team is in situ there while Mohor Celtic are always a difficult challenge and that game is at 10.30 on Sunday morning. There are two games then in the first division. Bridgianite at play Kilroos Rangers and Avenue B take on Mount Shannon. The second division there are two games in Eston's play Shannon Town B while Ranroob, Ranroobers play Maniceltic and there are five games in the Tor division Derek. Jim if we could maybe just have a general overview I suppose of the Premier division race now as you mentioned just down to those eight teams and we're supposed we saw last year it was maybe one of the tighter title races that we had seen in recent years with Tola and the bridge really closing the gap on the market and Avenue you mentioned there about the leads that Avenue have lost. I mean God almighty three savage leaders obviously Dylan got the winner in the cup final Ron and Kern has been captain at the club the last number of years and

47:47now has been a revelation at midfield so like you have to imagine that's going to have a major impact on Avenue and could potentially open the door for a Tola or a bridge to close that gap even further. It could indeed there is no doubt that Tola in my book and they have kept the most of last seasons team that I have seen so far and there is no doubt that Barry Murphy will know them well inside who know the players he would have worked at the Matandor age and he was also recently with the under 16 team I think there as well so I would expect that they will be very close to the gap the top there again this common season. Bridgionite is well Bridgionite is always Bridgionite is always tough to beat they're ambitious and they just peed or doubt a little bit last season if you remember Barry but I think they will be quite strong even if they've lost one or two players but that home their home season

48:48home farm has always been quite good now I would expect Shannon Town to maybe close the gap they finished fifth last season and there was a good distance I think 10 or 12 points maybe between them and the bridge who were in fourth I was a Tola I can't remember which now there wasn't much there but there was a big gap between the 14 and a Shannon Town I think Shannon Town would try very very how to close the gap there we also have Shannon heaps coming up from the first division to play in the Premier Shannon heaps a very unknown in a sense but there'll always be how to beat there a dog with kind of a team with some very very good players and if they're putting the effort they will also make life difficult particularly at home for anybody visiting so a good bit to look forward to there in the Premier League very. And Moher Celtic opened the Premier Division as well means Savage works from them to get back to that level. Yes indeed and we all know that Moher

49:51they're very hard to beat they're a tough side they worked very hard in the first division last season even though they had they finished on a roper if I remember rightly too no market B but then no market B have tended over the last couple of years to be a long way ahead of anybody else in that division so depending on if Moher have been able to enter their squad at this and if I have too much problems with maybe Gaelic football and that they will also be how not to crack. And as we started the conversation by mentioning the fact that no market A, B and C are all through to League Cup finals coming up in December so it would be remiss of us not to kind of finish up the chat by talking about no markets the fact that they're going to set all these new standards how disappointed they were as well as after the Cup final last year and not getting to complete the double now that their rivals avenue have been weakened a little bit you have to imagine that will have steered the boys in McDonald's Park. It will indeed and I mean

50:52there's no doubt that they are an ambitious club they'll be looking to retain their Premier League title and they'll also be very keen to win the cup as well. Their B team has always been quite strong and as we've seen it it won the they won the first division title last year for the tort time in a row and from what I gather is they have every intention of trying to dominate that division again. Now I was also told that no market C have quite a few players with a hell of a lot of experience and we have seen there that they top their group in the tort division and they were these that they're ambitious to try and have a right run in the monster shield as well. So we could very easily end up with no market dominating Claire soccer over the next season but it's up to the other clubs to make sure that it's competitive. Absolutely.
