You say you've always felt some little bit of a connection to the spirit world, but you felt that you needed to hide that part of yourself. What was it that brought it out? Well, there was a lot of things that brought it out. I think I went to a Catholic school and it wasn't kind of aligned with the Catholic teaching, so I got into trouble from the nuns often when I asked questions. I wanted to be a serious journalist,

1:03so I think I really started to block out that connection. And what brought it out? A few things, I think, seeing it in my daughters and seeing how I blocked it in one of my daughters made me realise that maybe I needed to lean into this more, and also experiences that I couldn't explain after a very close friend passed away and she pushed me into this world. From the other side of something. From the other side. Okay, so you become curious all of a sudden. You want to look into it and you start getting up at three o'clock in the morning, starting to study online. What about the moment you go? I want to tell people about this. I want to write a book about this. Well, I never set out to write a book, so this book was never going to happen. And I did my certification, which was an eight-month course with the Medium School in Canada, and I did my final examination and received honors, and I was so happy with myself. I couldn't believe it, but I left the connection

2:08open. And over the course of the following four days, I had 400 spirits coming to me, wanting me to connect them with their loved ones. First of all, it started out being little children, and then it was parents, and so I thought I was having a mental breakdown. I had to seek some advice from my mentors, and they said to start writing down the messages. So that's what I started doing. So that's how the book came about. The heart of the book was, I have hundreds of thousands of messages coming through. Yeah. What was the message from your girlfriend that passed that said sort of pushed you into that? Was there an experience that you can share with us that was one of those things that said, I have to listen to this talent. Yeah. There was a lot. She was very persistent, and I talk about her in the book. After she passed, I had birds flying

3:10into the windows, and I think on the 15th bird, I said to Grant, I think this could be a message from something is trying to tell. I thought it was his grandparents, maybe trying to tell him to do something. Get a haircut. Yeah, pack up your clothes or something. And we had a couple of psychics on our podcast, and little bits were starting to come out. Then I had a private reading, and she came through very strong and pushed me on this path. Well, what a twist Jersey for you. We asked your hubby, Gold Logi winner. His name's Grant, right? Some of you may have heard of him, I can't place him. We asked him about his favourite part of the book, and he's a tiny snippet now. Hey, because I like playing children's hands. It was sounded so bizarre, and... As it turns out, which craft is real? Joking, problematic word, clearly. I've been living in like, I don't know, a hook. I thought I was.

4:16It's all as more in here. That was just one tiny example. A lot of crazy things. Which we've learnt along the way. So crazy, after all. Get a room, you two. He jokes about this crazy, but weird. It's right in there in the title. He's a pretty supportive fellow, that one. He's very supportive, but it really terrified him, I think, at the start of this whole process, because I would say to him something's going to happen today, and then books would fly off the bookshelf, and he'd be like, what are you doing? Or, you know, the lights had flickered, and I... Actually, Shazie. Yeah. Yeah. So, like really tangible things, because he doesn't, well, he does now, but he didn't believe in any of this stuff. I mean, I was probably more open to it, but he's definitely now a convert, so he's very supportive. Fascinating. Well, this has certainly picked out interest.
