About this episode
In 2012, 21-year-old Shayna Hubers shot and killed 29-year-old Ryan Poston inside Ryan's condo. Ryan was a promising young attorney in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shayna had recently graduated from the University of Kentucky and was pursuing her master's degree. The two began an on-again off-again relationship in 2011.
Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the tragic murder of Ryan Poston. These two young people seemingly had it all. What happened during their year-and-a-half relationship to cause things to end so badly. The prosecution claimed that Shayna killed Ryan out of jealousy. She didn't want the relationship to end and found out he was dating someone else. The defense claimed she killed Ryan out of self-defense.
This is an interesting case in that there is plenty of audio, including Shayna's 911 call and her interrogation tapes. They provide quite a bit of insight into the case, but both sides tried to use them to their advantage.
