Psalm 67: Living For Something Bigger

About this episode

God’s blessing is comforting, but Psalm 67 refuses to let it stay private. We sit with a prayer that starts like the Aaronic Blessing, “May God be merciful and bless us,” and then watch the Psalm push the spotlight outward: may God’s ways be known across the earth, may the nations praise him, may the whole world find joy under his just leadership. It’s a short passage with a big agenda, and it reshapes how we think about gratitude, worship, and everyday purpose.

As we walk through Psalm 67, we talk about why Scripture connects blessing with mission. God’s pattern goes all the way back to Abraham: “I’m going to bless you… and through you, I’m going to bless the world.” That means God’s favor on your life is not just for comfort or success. It’s also meant to make God visible to people who don’t know him yet. We dig into what it looks like when faith is lived out loud, not as performance, but as steady obedience in the public square.

We also get practical about witness: some of the best evangelism is a life honestly lived for God. People notice your attitude, your thankfulness, and especially your faithfulness when life hurts. When you hold on to the Lord in hard seasons, it raises a question others can’t ignore: what is it about you? That’s where purpose gets real. You’re not running from something, you’re running toward something bigger.

If you’re craving direction, Psalm 67 offers a clear next step: receive God’s blessing with humility, then become a blessing on purpose. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a five-star review so more people can find the show.
